[Q] LG gpad 8.3 google sync problem - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Lately I've had problems with the automatic synchronization with my tablet. Google apps like Gmail and calendar don't synchronize automatically when changes are made. My other Android devices are fine: when I receive an email, my phone will notify me, but my tablet won't. Not even when I pick it up after coming home, sending some e-mails at work.
When I turn the sync on and off, it does sync, but I don't want to do this manual procedure every hour to see whether I have mail or not, or whether I changed something in my calendar.
If I make a calendar change on my tablet, it won't synchronize that either (see image) the synchronization arrows show, but they don't rotate, and the current time and sync time are different. Also the text doesn't say,"synchronizing" as it normally would,( and should)
I've tried restarting the tablet, deleting and re-entering my Google account. Tried different networks, nothing seems to work.
Tablet runs 4.4.2 kitkat , haven't touched the Rom or that sort of thing.
Does anyone have any idea about this?

how to get google contacts/calender on tp2 6.5

hello,
i flashed to 6.5 official and i was wondering if there is any easy way to sync all of my data calender and contacts to my phone now, im really used to the google system. and yes im coming from a g1
Google sync
unfortunately google sync for Windows mobile is a big pile of pooo.
It would sync once, after that you will most likely encounter a problem on scheduled syncs.
At least in my case, i would sync it once installed a new ROM, then delete the exchange settings from the Active sync. This will stop you from going crazy after several failed attempts to synchronize after
Can't you just set up the mobile exchange feature of Google? Not to use a bad word, but my Wiff's iphone is set up that way and all contacts/calendar/email are in perfect sync with her google account? I just selected the "Exchange" configuration.
I have to admit that I have yet to try it with my TP2... I would think if anything it would work just as well
I'm syncing my contact, calendar and mails via active sync protocoll too and it works fine (using google as like as an exchange server, not the separate google sync program).
but it seems you have to exclude items from syncing which you have not activated yet: i don't use "Tasks" in my google account, and until i deactivated it in the exchange/AS settings, i got sync errors. but after deactivating "Tasks"-syncing i never got errors again...
It should be the the same procedure if other components are unused, because if you create a googlemail-mailbox, you'll get contacts too, but no tasks nor calendar. those have be created/activated manually in your google account.
thankS! that removing tasks made it work. although i cant seem to see my contacts. do u think i have it set up where it wont import the google contacts for any reason?
THis may be obvious, but under activesync, make sure that you have Contacts checked off..I don't know if they are all enabled by default
yes that one is selected. i have a lot of contacts that i dont want to manually set up again please let me know if anyone has had this problem and resolved it or thinks they can help me.
but so far i really like this phone!
UPDATE: restarted phone and works even better now! ALL my contacts and now I have 3G instead of H

Loose Exchange contacts every reboot of phone

Hello everyone,
I've tried to get a help on polish android forums but without a single reply. That's why I'm asking you for help guys. My problem is really really strange and I found nothing about such issue in whole Internet.
I have an issue with contacts synchronized with Exchange 2003 Server using Corporate Sync. After setting up account and initial synchronization everything works just perfect... until first reboot. After any reboot my contacts synchronized with Exchange starts to disappear. However mail and calc still synced well. Contacts don't disappear all at once but in "blocks" about 20 contacts every 30 seconds. It takes about 5-10 minutes till contact book is vanished. After all contacts disappear phone connects to Exchange server and starts to sync contacts again. Then it also takes 5-10 minutes till all contacts will shown (sync) depending on connection speed to server.
Initially I thought that after phone restart there's some issue with sync to exchange and that's why contacts are vanished and downloaded (synced) from exchange again. However when I disabled APN, WiFi and any other form of internet communication in phone and then restarted it, the scenario was excacly the same with one exception. Contacts got lost but not synced again since there was no internet communication. After that and due to nature of how contacts disappear (one-by-one, not all at once) I thought that maybe some indexing process is puring my phone book after device boot-up and I think I was not in mistake. Using some software (like Titanium backup) I've frozen com.motorola.blur.main and restarted the phone. After reboot contacts still started to vanish but in the middle of process I've de-frozen com.motorola.blur.main process and contacts STOPED to dissapear. From 624 contacts 507 was still remaing and not deleting themselves anymore. However those already deleted was not synced again at all. After that I re-created my account and all issue start over.
Sometimes after puring my phone book it can't sync again somehow and I have to even delete/add account again or disable contacts sync with exchange and enable it again.
Finally I've done hard reset of defy and start-over. The very first thing I've done after HR was to add Google and Exchange account and check if problem still persists on fresh system without any added software. Of course it still persists
For reference - Google account don't have this "issue" - only exchange have.
And now maybe the most important thing. This issue most probably happened after I upgraded my Defy from 2.1 to 2.2.2 throught official MSU (Motorola Software Upgrade). I can't be 100% sure that both things had their place in exact same time but for 80% they was. Maximum difference in time between upgrade and contacts issue is less than two weeks.
Finally it maybe some huge bug in Corporate Sync function in Froyo - OR Motorola has a huge bug in their BLUR software. Anyway it's very strange that no one reported that before. My phone is running stock firmware so it's no different like any other bought in Orange.
Hope anyone can give me any advice or help with it,
Regards
Exchange contacts every reboot of phone
Hi
did you solve this problem? I have the same issue every time I switch my phone off. Much to my demise when I went abroad without roaming data. I switch my phone on in the arrival hall and boom no contact in my exchange. Had no contact until I got back home. Disaster!
Unfortunatelly I did NOT. However I have a workaround for that. You can find on market app called TouchDown. It costs about $20 but does its job. Just disable synchronizing contacts by build-in exchange synchronization mechanism and let it do by TouchDown. The issue with TouchDown is that you have to edit/create/delete contacts from TouchDown application rather than from build-in contacts manager, otherwise it won't be synced to exchange.

Control over push notifications

Hi,
I just got a tablet next to my Gnex, and i am trying to find the best way to avoid double notifications when at home, on both the phone and the tablet.
I have realised (and pls tell me if it's not true) that even if I disable sync, this applies only to google services (calendar, gmail, ecc.) and not to whatsapp and facebook.
I could disable the whole data connection (and wifi) but then I won't be able to receive whatsapp messages (I found out I can't have the same number configured on both tablet and phone, so I kept whatsapp on phone only).
So in practice, when at home, I would like to have the tablet fully in sync with google services and receiving facebook and twitter push notifications, and the phone receiving only whatsapp messages: the only way i found so far is to disable google sync and then go into twitter and facebook settings and disble push from there.
Do you know of any other way?
Well, I don't have a tablet so I'm kinda useless on real solutions, but you could use Tasker to automate the process you're doing now by making a profile that activates when your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi.

yeah, the tablet part is not actually important and only half of the story.
What i really need is a program that allows me to record a sort of macros, so that with the press of a button I can: [1] disable google sync [2] open facebook and disable push notifications [3] same for twitter
The real problem here is to find a tasker-like app that allows me to automate apps

Calendar not syncing Outlook.com

Hello,
last week I upgraded to Android 4.4.2 without any issue. Yesterday I realized a missing calender which was not synced from my outlook.com account. So I did something stupid and deleted the calendar apps data and cache as well as the calendar storage data and cache. From then things went worse...nothing synced with my calendar. So I first deleted my account and set it up again - which did not work. In desperation I used the LG Tool to do a upgrade recovery and wipe everything with a factory reset. Afterwards I setup my acount again using (s.outlook.com like stated on a Microsoft help page). But I can not manage my calendar to sync with my outlook.com account. My iPhone works well - no problems in syncing. Emails seem to work but I have not checked if push works properly.
I've found some threads where people said something about a known problem with Exchange Active Sync (EAS) in combination with 4.4 (even with 4.4.2?). Does anybody know what I can do or how I can "log" or "debug" the problem? Can I somehow write a calendar sync log file or something?
Kind regards,
Michael
I'm using Sony Z and after I've done the 4.4 update under stock ROM I have issues on the Outlook.com agenda either.
iI sync two calendars, that seem to be present, but what happens is one of the calendars (family shared calendar in Outlook.com) works 100%, while my personal calendar (Outlook.com) shows visible only if the calendar screen on the phone is set to "Agenda" or "Month" view. Running the calendar screen in "Day" or "Week" view does not show any events at all for my personal calendar only (family calendar is there), though as said in Agenda mode everything seems to be there and OK for both calendars.
Also, apart of having the personal calendar visible only under "Agenda" or "Month" view, there are no notifications at all about possible events i have scheduled for the personal calendar (family calendar drops notifications as expected)....
I've tried to uninstall and re-install Outlook.com, purge data, reconfigure outloook.com, though the issue still presists
Anyone seen similar issue ?
Outlook Calendar
Hi
Just tried mine as not tried since upgrade to 4.4 I am LG stock software and used the latest PC suite
All worked Ok but it did take twice But on checking PC it has duplicated some dates from G pad but G pad has all my new Appointments so it does work.
I think the duplicates occur when you modify on G pad and when synchronising with PC it sees them as different to put them in.
The second time Outlook was open and minimised
Failed

[Q] Note2 Syncing issue

So....
my Note 2 stopped automatic sync. This is not restricted to any specific account (gmail, calendar, 3rd party apps) but it happens across the board. I checked all possible syncing settings, in general and for each app to make sure that automated syncing is enabled. Still, the only time device syncs is when I restart it/turn it on or when I manually sync it, by turning off and then turning on sync button on Notification Panel.
I have several google accounts on my device and I really don't want to remove all the accounts and set them up again if I don't have to.
Anyone experienced anything like this and has word of advice?
Im running nameless rom and have no issues with sync.
