Hello. I recently completed S-off/Root and updated my firmware to the newest firmware (i have a harmon edition M8 thats Stock). After i updated it, everything was fine but my HTC player doesn't work (if I push play on a song, it shows as playing but their is no sound. I have downloaded another music player and sound plays fine. Also, if I play a song in the stock player and then go into the 3rd party player the sound starts to play on the stock player). Any suggestions on how to correct this? Thanks.
You are on a ROM that uses Harmon Kardon? And you flashed firmware that supports HK (Sprint)?
Random audio issues are usually due to HK mod being used with firmware that doesn't support it.
Thanks for the response redpoint. The problems started when I updated the firmware (I'm pretty sure I selected a HK firmware update, but I'll double check it). I haven't had a chance to update the rom (still on a stock rom. Sense 6.0/ Sense Version 4.4.2./ Software 1.54.654.13)

Hey guys I'm on 2.2 and it comes with 10.1 already part of the phone I thought, but I was browsing the market and i saw adobe flash player 10.1 available for download but i thought i already have it installed...? What's this for, is it an app to play flash outside the browser? If so what version of flash Is HTC flash player using...? Should I download this or is HTC flash player the same thing?

its just an update to the flash player you already got
It is just a newer version with security updates. You should check under settings, apps, manage apps which version is installed on your phone. If you got enough space, just grab the new one... greets
Edit: Ă„hem, seconds too late...
I've got an international version of the HTC One X that I purchased through Amazon and I can't get the OTA software update. I'm currently on version 1.19.707.1 and I'm pretty sure that it's now up to 1.29.xxx.x
Is there an official ROM I can flash? Or does anyone know how I can force the update somehow?
My biggest issue is that when I shoot video, there's no audio. I've tried enabling/disabling the audio recording toggle and it doesn't work. My hope is that it's a firmware issue and getting the latest firmware will fix this.
Otherwise, what a badass phone.
have a look at this

Hi,
I've been running cyanogen for awhile but I've been stuck on v10.0(android 4.1.2) because avrcp is not available on the new version...(audio track tags over bluetooth)
is this fixed now in the new version, as advertised by google?
can anybody confirm?
thanks
updating is useless without that feature, my car stereo doesn't have a usb port so I need bluetooth
After trying it out myseft
its working fine
but broken:
the data is sent, but it is sending the artist at the place of the album name andI always get no title as artist name
so it might only be the way the application is reading the mp3 tags that is faulty
hope this will get fixed
Update:
If anyone is interested...
I flashed CyanogenMod 10.2 Nighties (Android 4.3) on my device
All the issues I was having in the tryout of another version of 4.3 are fixed
it's working same as I had in 10.0
Thank You CyanogenMod :good:

I can't get this to work, don't know if you (or anyone else reading this) might have any clue as to why.
I bought a brand new Ford Focus including the latest version of Ford Sync last month. I was on CM 10.1 so I obviously got no music metadata. Now I've upgraded to 10.2 (actually I've got a Xperia Ray so I'm not on official builds but on LegacyXperia ones) and still avrcp doesn't work except for the 1.0 stuff (play, pause etc). Shouldn't this work out-of-the-box? Or any special music player needed (I've tried with Apollo and Subsonic)?

edit: Apparently my ROM simply hasn't got support for this yet. Something with Bluetooth Firmware that is not yet upgraded. Explains...

I'm using the standard CM10.2 nightlies as well, and it's not working for me either. GNex Maguro build 20130826 was the last time I flashed, but I haven't seen any bluetooth changes made since then in the changelog so I'm assuming it's still not fixed.
Is the Bluetooth Firmware in the ROM? Or is that a part of the Radio that gets flashed separately?

I think (but then again I'm no Android guru, so I'm not quite sure) that the Bluetooth firmware is one of the files in /sys/etc/firmware, in my case I think it's a file named TIInit_7.6.15.bts. But I'm not quite sure if this file is something that the person cooking the ROM fixes or a file that has to come from the manufacturer of the Bluetooth chip.

It looks like you can get the file from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers?csw=1#magurojwr66y
The tarbell has a .sh script in it. I have no idea if I can just run that .sh file on my phone and have it work. I've never dealt with actual drives before.

You just run that file on a Linux computer and it will first ask you to accept the license and then it unpacks some files. One .hcd file and some .mk files. Not really sure what to do with them though

Trying to get a sense of what is causing this. Whenever I'm on LTE (doesn't happen on WiFi), Google Play Services ends up being the highest battery usage app with a lot of time recorded in the "Mobile radio active" measure on the battery use details. I realize that this has been documented... I'm still not sure exactly how much it affects actual battery life vs. what is reported. But at least in my case it does seem to be having a negative overall impact.
I have this problem on every GPE 5.1 and 6.0 ROM I've tried.
This is after a couple weeks trying to let usage stabilize, and a couple factory resets to try and remove variables.
The only thing I haven't tried is updating to a newer GPE firmware - I'm currently running the Sense 5.0 firmware. This is on an international GSM M8.
So do you have this issue - what phone model / firmware are you running?
can you try downgrading google plays services to an earlier version see if it gets rid of it?
Have you tried the xposed module? Sorry I don't have a link but if you have xposed installed you can search the downloads section. It might be in there otherwise search xda for mobile radio active xposed.
Edit: Never mind, I don't think that module had been updated for MM. It made my phone bootloop.
I did try that Xposed module on 5.1, and it didn't seem to help.
Also this affects all apps, not just Play Services. The "bug" is pretty well detailed in these Android issues:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=165558 (LP / MM)
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=190396 (MM specifically)
Seems like not all M8 GPE users are experiencing it though, so I'm not sure where the problem is exactly.
As far as I know and what I've read says that newer firmware works generally with older versions but running old and incorrect firmware is a recipe for radio problems.
You should definitely update to the latest GPE edition firmware available or if running Sense based ROM, use the sense firmware.
I flashed Viper for my HTC one M9 and everything seemed to work exept two MAJOR problems
1 Absolutly no videos will play "Please try again"
2No games that require advanced graphics will play at all. Crash to desktop
Didn't have any issues with this at all prior to flashing the custom rom
Any help you could provide would be amazing guys
NO calls as well... It just hangs when you try to make a call!
So Can't Record Video's or play games use youtube or call people :/
its over all the roms not just one i've tried Cyanogen Viper and this random Android one
Nevermind guys... got help from an unlikely source
Apparently its a bad idea to update your rom without updating your firmware first (didn't know they were separate)
Updated that and now everything is running smoothly
