Connect to computer dosent recognize went connected via usb. Although its only lg pc suite that dosent pick up my phone. I think its because i uninstalled lg bloatware in titanium backup. In order to root it you have to have the drivers installed so try installing the drivers on another pc or try to figure the problem. If you just want it rooted and nothing more (Custom ROM, Recovery, or Kernel), then use Bi4nary's root. If you want a custom ROM, Recovery, or Kernel, then you have to 'Unbrick' and I would suggest you use hereric's method. Both of them work perfectly

SO I couldn't just root with something easy like superoneclick then Just download TWRP from goo manager and flash roms through that? I HAVE to do that long complicated guide? I definetly am too noob to follow that, I can't even open Bc2appsetup for some reason let alone the rest of it!
Superoneclick will work to root this phone. As others have experienced, it takes one shot or multiple tries to get it rooted. IRC, I had to also install the Android SDK package before it got rooted.
BUT, if you just bought that phone as used it might be already rooted so check that first before you waste your time.

hey,
im trying to root my f240s, but i can find "development" under settings. according to the root tutorial i have to enable the USB debugging, which is under development..
im on kitkat 4.4.2, but there are many korean apps, i would like to get rid of them and if it's possible install the newest 4.4.4 kitkat, so is it possible to install it without any problems?

What rom is it? Give a try to Towelroot V3, I just used it yesterday. It should work on stock V10x roms, I don't know about AOSPish roms, after towelroot install supersu from playstore and let it update binaries normal way.
Let me know if this works or else I can let you know the other method I know.
i used the towelroot and rooted the phone. removed a bunch of korean apps with titanium backup, but now im worried if i uninstalled something important
on the list of apps in titanium all the way down i see
imsdatadlb
imsdatadserver
imsqmisocket
crossed with a line, so is that something i should worry about?
so now i have a rooted phone with a 4.4.2 kitkat. as i understand i cant receive official updates? i will have to update the phone manually? can i update it to 4.4.4? i would only update it if it's 100% safe.. i dont want to mess something up. im happy with 4.4.2 but just want to know if i can update the phone down the line to a newer software, maybe even down the road when officially ther wont be any updates for ogp?
Hi,
I got LG G3 (02, D855) and recently I updated as it required a software update. This removed root (it had root before, I installed root via the one click installer created by avicohh.). After this update I can no longer root, when I install SuperSU I get this dreadful error: there is no su binary installed and supersu cannot install it
I have tried one click installer + the GUI version as well, all seems to go well, but according to both scripts, but once I run SuperSU, it gives that error.
I've seen some posts which says I need to flash it or whatever, but I have no idea how to do this, prefer one click scripts!!
PS the software suite upgraded to latest version 5.0 Android.
Cheers
Asim
Sorry I can't help you but you have helped me... I too am rooted and last night the ota update downloaded and is now sitting on top of screen wanting me to install it.
I don't think I will now as would like to keep root.
Do you know how to get rid of the tick at top incase I accidentally install the update?
Regards diddle ?

Hi, in update center, you should be able to turn of automatic updates, also I think if you click the notification > click install later, it will ask you when to remind you, I think from this popup you should be able to abort installation.
Can't duplicate it since I already updated.
Worked asimr
Thanks for the help
Will wait till a working one click appears before I do any updates
Same problem as yours, after i unrooted my phone via supersu, i cant root anymore
I have tried to root the phone again in recovery mode or via adb... None of them success
Hope somebody can help :crying:
My V410 received an OTA to 5.0.2 about 2 weeks ago. Tried to root several times since, all without success. Towelroot, Purpledrake, LG One Click Root (v1.3), LG Root Script (v1.2) and LG Root all fail. I even tried SuperOneClick, without success. I have never had this much difficulty rooting any Android device!
Am I missing something? Maybe I skipped a step? Windows 7 Pro 64-bit desktop PC, with ADB installed and working, so my OS isn't blocking me.
Android version: 5.0.2
Kernal version: 3.4.0+
Build number: LRX22G
Software version: V41020b
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I am all ears!

I'm having the exact same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is my exact issue too. I rooted my v410 and then it decided to update to 5.0.2 and now it's unrooted and not vulnerable. After hours each night of searching and searching is the short answer it's stuck where it's at? Every fix requires a rooted device and once on lollipop it won't root...
Edit: Also, hi everyone. This is my first post to this forum as a new member in attempts to customize my first android device.
LG gpad 7 v410 v20b:
I'm having the same issue.
For me, Purpledrake quits unexpectedly right after the tablet has rebooted once. Then the tablet reboots again.
Anyone know why?
Purpledrake ran on a Mac does the same but the term window stays up and it reads something to the tune of the phone not being vulnerable and basically putting everything back the way it found it.

Same problem here! Tried everything! Has anyone came up with a solution?
Any Solution guys?
Make sure both of these are set correctly. I struggled for a couple of days while trying root my v410, then realized it was #2 the whole time that was stopping my progress......

Purple Drake works for stock Kit Kat not for stock lollipop.
I stupidly tried to update mine to lollipop and now I appear not to be rooted and purple drake fails. I think the twrp recovery I had installed before is blocking it cause it fails when twrp logo appears at reboot (instead of AT&T logo). Is there another way to root an LG G-pad 7.0 v410 or find what's blocking purple drake?
EDIT: Actually it is ok now, rooted. Is there a way to install the new system update on a rooted tablet?

I'm not man. Honestly my entire ecosystem is Mac and iOS. I changed up my plan at AT$T and they were like:
"It comes with a tablet."
"I don't need a tablet."
"But it's free with the plan."
"Yeah but I don't need a tablet."
"But... it comes... ... with the plan..."
"Okay, give me the damn tablet."
"Great! We're out at the moment so we'll have to send it to you in the mail and sign here acknowledging you're aware that it has a new separate line for $10 a month."
Eventually I started using it and thought it would be good for when I'm out on the road on bidness and wanted to unlock all the supernatural phenomenal marvels that is Android. Nah man, AT$T's got this thing on lock down. I would upgrade to a different tab but dollars.

This not work with Lollipop only KK
No luck. My tablet will not root. I tried Purpledrake regular and lite. I used a new USB cable, I plugged it directly into the motherboard, and I ran both progs many times. I have de-bugging and MTP enabled. I have ADB installed, and I crossed my fingers. Purpledrake just quits unexpectedly. I hope someone figures out how to root this tablet. I'd put up some cash for a working root. Anyone else?
Stupid google. Whatever happened to "Don't Be Evil"?
Purple Drake doesn't necessarily quit unexpectedly, the window just closes before you get a chance to read the message. It basically says that the phone is not vulnerable and it can't continue and has replaced everything it changed and then closes and vanishes into the dark.
Has anyone tried rolling back the Android update?
I mean: restore to factory settings, turn off OTA and then root?

It's not Google's fault. AT$T requested that the bootloader be locked by LG and it's not advantageous for Google in any way to intentionally introduce bugs in the kernel that will allow for privilege escalation.
The reason that PurpleDrake is quitting is because it is executing the root script and not waiting for it to finish. Basically it is not checking for errors and just assuming that it worked. If you run the root script by hand (which is what PD does for you) then the script fails to escalate privileges and a root shell is not attained. PurpleDrake is only a wrapper for the root script.

Restoring to factory settings will only wipe the /data partition; it has no effect on the /system partition. I've been scouring the web for weeks and have not found a workable solution. There's a good chance that if you were somehow able to roll back to a KK image then the bootloader would fail to load the kernel.
When I get some time, I plan to try to try dumping the system image, manually injecting root goodies, and finding some way to flash that image back. It may or may not brick the device.
Has anyone tried any of these methods? http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197

Yes I tried and no works
So if we want root, we roll back to KK?
I have a LG G3 D851 Gold that is stuck on android 4.4.2 (software version: D85110c). It tries to do an OTA update however when it tries installing it it fails halfway through and just reboots and most of the time it says the software is up to date. I tired the LG Mobile Support Tool; when I use that it says I have an update available for a few seconds and then it says my phone is up to date. I called LG, T-Mobile, and Google and they all just blamed the problem on someone else and wouldn't help me.
Any ideas? I have never rooted or flashed a phone before so I don't want do that if I don't have to.

while taking an official download you can't have root access or it'll throw you into a bootloop. In my opinion you should root so you can really customize your phone and get some pretty cool apps. If you're on kitkat there's this one click root app you can use and it's very easy, probably take you 20 minutes to get root access and install SU app.
