Unlock with Wifi, Tripview, Quota, Circle Battery, HD Wallpapers, Fontomizer SP and Snowstorm are all pretty useful apps to have on the SGS II. My personal fav of which is Unlock with Wifi. What it does it automically disable the lockscreen when your at home by recognising your Wifi. When I go out of my house however the lockscreen is enabled again. Very convenient
Oh and also, everyone should check out samsung dive if they haven't already (do a quick google search since I can't post links yet). If you've created an account with Samsung and entered it on your phone in the accounts page it's pretty much a better (and more official) version of Wheres My Droid. With it, you can lock your phone, check it's call and sms history, track it, wipe all data from it and of course, call it all through your internet browser.
No baby grown up SGS 2 .
Super Manager replaced Root Explorer for me .

Titanium Pro as always .
Quick Settings turn off wifi mobile data etc.
Nitrality early days yet but useful xda tool .

Chrome to Phone + Fox to Phone in Firefox send links .

Juice defender can be handy when you live or work where your phone constantly gets and loses signal in a low signal area . Saves a lot of battery so I would not call it useless . Adfree is one I would recommend to any rooted user.
No one yet (edit : Except krabman -- Can't believe my eagle-eyes didn't spot it) has mentioned 'Ad-Free Android', apart from SetCPU and Root Explorer, it's the first app I install and run. Get rid of those rubbishy ads in Angry Birds.
I can also say Terminal Emulator for those tech-savvy people and Beats (very fun DDR / Osu! clone - Still in Beta but really good)

My phone has installed itself a scorching case of syphilis. I didn't install it from the Market and I am not sure how my phone contracted an STD. I think it has been consorting with some iPhones behind my back.
Dirty phone! I will have words with it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a 'protector' for my miscreant phone?

Greenify *ROOT*
Hi!!
I'm newer in this great forum..... i was looking a similar tread and don't find it.... there is mi post
Greenify *ROOT* is an app that when is activated the application automatically sleep the apps that we don't use
example...... Facebook app.... as we know is a heavy application in our system because always is in the ram ..... with this app activated(in Greenfy) the Facebook app will sleep and our nexus 7 will works faster.......
This app make ours nexus 7 faster.... like when they are new.
If you have a lot of apps and your nexus is slowly or you just don't want that happen just install it and tell me how it works.....
Important!!!!! this app saves your battery!!! why??? simple!!! all the apps are sleeping!!
And one more thing.... the apps sleeps when you don't use it.... and wake up when you tap on it....... an sleep automatically when you stop to use it......... is like TUNE UP UTILITIES....
And i don't made this app..... i just share it!

Its all a personal choice , here are mine :
1. Titanium Backup Pro - Backup app
2. Terminal Emulator - running your Linux command like EFS backup and more
3. Links2SD - Move apps from internal to External SD ( Note stores all app on internal storage)
4. ROM Manager - 1 stop rom control / flash
5. Triangle Away - reset your counter
6. BuildProp editor
7. Xposed Framework - Change your UI ( ex: transparent status , battery , lock screen and many many more customization)
8. ES-File explorer
9. AdAway - now not in playstore can download from XDA.
10. Tasker - Probably the best paid app out there
all the suggested apps are great
but it all comes down to what are u planning to do with ur device ......
Many were already mentioned, but to me:
Adaway (http://sufficientlysecure.org/index.php/adaway/)
Android Firewall (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jtschohl.androidfirewall)
Autorun Manager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rs.autorun&hl=en)
Greenify (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en)
Tasker + Secure Settings (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en)
Titanium Backup (or similar app that allows freezes and app+data backups)
SD Maid (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm.unlocker&hl=en)
Lumberjack (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.solarnz.apps.lumberjack&hl=en)
GMD SPen (useful for gestures and for screen auto-off when inserting pen)
First thing I do to my phone:
-Freeze useless apps with Titanium
-Stop apps from auto-starting with Autorun Manager
-Add some apps to Greenify
(these steps save me lots of RAM and I guess, CPU cycles).
Then Tasker+Secure Settings for automation (in my phone it ends up replacing several apps as it can be tweaked to do lots of stuff)
Android Firewall is a must too. I have it Deny All by default and only allow apps that I know are needing Wifi or 3G access. The rest are not allowed to connect to the outside world.
Most likely you will also need something like
SuperSU https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu&hl=en
Busybox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en
And just for fun, why not Live Dmesg ? (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.livedmesg.lite&hl=en)

Greenify definitely recommended ! Hibernates your App till you manually open it again. After using it , it again hibernates thereby cutting off synch and services associated to it - which means you can use that app when ever you want at the same time ensuring it doesn't keep lingering at the background when you are not using it :good: .. Till now saving me some good amount of RAM & Battery, the only drawback it cannot hibernate system apps - like Google Music , which keeps auto starting .

Chrome beta works great.
Sent from rooted carbon note 2, with the xda app.
not much root apps i use myself though,
- titanium backup
- mobile odin (trying it out at the moment)
- gmd spen (once i switch to 4.2.2/4.3 still need to get a new sd-card first )
- SG USB Mass Storage Enabler (added to my list after i read about it, awesome app to get back the normal mass storage instead of the MTP connection samsung comes bundled with)
- lucky patcher (don't know if i can name that one here if not please remove this line ^^)
- adaway
there's only 2 apps i really use though, thats TB for my backups and adaway to get rid of those pesky adds mobile odin is something i have just i case, not something i really use on a regular basis.
gmd spen might be scratched from the list, and usb mass storage enabler as well, still gotta try out if that one actually increases anything in the transfer speed, if not i'm just gonna stick with the MTP as i can use my device at the same time then .

Hello All,
I purchased a Tab 3 7.0 and after applying root and installing titanium back and am wondering which APKs are safe to remove. I've gotten rid of the music player, music hub, the samsung app store, and there video player.
I was hoping we could get a list together to see what other systems apps are safe to remove.
Thanks!
good idea

Good first removals.
One of the greatest advantages of Rooting is getting rid of all of the useless BS.
I use root explorer, go into system/apps and start marking the apk and odx of files I know I don't/won't use. I move them to my sd card in the "bloat" folder a few at a time and have not seen any issues. 340 MB and rising in there now.

First thanks for that link it was helpful:highfive:
I can confirm that almost everything on the list from the link can be safely removed, mind you not everything on the list was installed
I went from an average of over 25+ things being open in memory to 13+ after that cleansing. :victory:
question
how do you check whats running in the background is thier an app for it or anything ..
removed everything from the above list, on both the website, etc .. and just want to check how many processes i have running ..
tab is alot faster now ..

To see whays running in vackgroung go to app manager in settings and swipe to go to running apps window
The ones running can be seen there
Also the cached apps the app processes tht h been stored in ram for faster multitasking can be found by clicking on cached apps on the top cornee
See the helium script in dev section it is a cwm flashable package to remove bloat
If u wanna find out yourself
Id suggest freezing apps then see if there r any problems then make a backup (if u r still unsure) and safely delete the app. So if u find the need u can just restore it

There's performance control in settings so i don't need "no frills" app to underclock my processor. We got MSM8228, let's make redmi 1s the lil beast it's meant to be ~ no underclocking. And you wanna play games? Play asphalt 8, dead trigger, into the dead, riptide gp2, gunship battle or anything that's not girly like your candy crush saga. Well, here's one tip - use lucky patcher to patch candy crush saga; you'll like it. To share files, i use zapya and xender. These are much better than super beam. Atleast, i don't have to scan QR codes to transfer files. And know what? Zapya has a PC version, too. And for personalisation, don't forget to use tasker and zooper widget pro.

Mi-Tools is mother of all tools for MiUi ROMs (like Gravitybox for AOSP)
Reboot

What about gravity box does that support redmi 1s?? Please suggest me some other roms for redmi 1s that give me best performance. (less Mb, less than 500 mb)

Gravity box won't work on miui. It would work on aosp roms. Go for pac or cm11. And till now, no one has cooked a custom rom for redmi 1s that exceeds 500mb. I'm on cm11, but pac has much more features than cm11. Good luck :good:
