there is a new Diztronic case coming on Nov 18
looking very nice, not boring like the one that diztronic has right now
http://www.tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_105&products_id=418
This kinda looks boring to me. Not sure what really makes a case exciting though.
Eh.. I don't like those pronounced corners. They stick out so much.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
Pre-ordered one a couple weeks back. Waiting on the red.
See how the extra thickness on the corners fair in real life. Should provide that extra protection when necessary.
Use code xda to get a small discount.
Not sure about the puffed up corners. Looks like they are trying to mimic Ringke or Spigen cases to create some gap between the case and phone. Anyways, I like Diztronic and bought many cases from them. So I can tell you from experience that what you are seeing as in finish and texture is just simple renders. Actual case would feel the same like old Diztronic case . I got excited too when preordered one for Nexus 5.

I try to avoid looking at competitors cases as much as possible so im not influenced by them with our designs. I don't believe anyone else makes a TPU case like our Ultra, but I could be wrong. I have a different mindset about business then some of our competition. There is a reason why Diztronic doesn't sell 20 different styles of cases. I only release what I consider to be best in class products. If I were to make a two piece case, I'd only want to sell it if I thought it was the best two peice on the market. Honesty, I cannot make a best in class two peice, the competiton is already making excellent two pieces.
I feel very strongly that our single piece TPU cases are the very best TPU cases on the market. I think our sales and reviews reflect that, no one sells more TPU then we do or has higher review ratings. I have the mindset of do one thing and do it well. It's for this reason that going forward Diztronic will only sell TPU. I may change my mind in a year or two, but that is where Im at right now. I want to have three styles. Our basic, Ultra/Voyeur, and then a third that is currently work in progress. If it works out how I have it planned in my head, it will be as exciting as a TPU case can be, haha.
Our case doesn't mimic Spigens "air gap" marketing baloney, ours has no gap. I haven't seen what's rearths been doing for at least a year now, I thought they fell off the map. Used to see their one piece snap ons all the time but haven't seen them lately. The corners on the Ultra are very subtle, based on your guys feedback we could make them more or less pronounced in the future, but I think you will be very happy with the design. If I didn't think the Ultra was a best in class design, I wouldn't of made it

maybe need to see one in person, as they hardly stick out at all. That first shot makes them look larger maybe because of the angle. Look at the shot of the front of the phone while it's laying on its back, more true to scale. This is our higher level of protection case though, it's not meant for everyone. It is what I use on my own device though, considerably better than our standard case and in a very slightly increased size.
Anyone get theirs yet? We shipped on Monday, but black only. Red and gray should be as soon as today but for sure before weeks end.

Thank you for your comments. I ordered the grey one for my oneplus. I'm excited to get it to be honest. I was looking for something that would protect my phone, look good and stylish and not be bulky. When I like something tech, I tell and show everyone so here's hoping this is an awesome case.

I hope you do to. I sold my OnePlus One a month ago so I haven't personally been able to use this case yet, but it's the same design as our iPhone 6 Plus Voyeur case (which is what I'm using now) minus the window. I just love this case, but I'm likely biased
It was a hard pill to swallow buying an iPhone after using 10-15 Android phones since I owned an IPhone 3G. But man, what Apple has done with iOS these days is super impressive. Android will always be the hardware leader of course, but Google has some catching up to do to be on par with iOS 8, as much as it pains me to say it!

I have an iPhone 5c I use for work and I can barely stand it. All I see is screens of icons. I know you can make groups and whatnot and clean your screens up but the interface, in my opinion, is very simple and design wise, 5 years old. Android/Google totally owns the innovation in their OS. I tell my customers/users if you want a phone that is simple and just works, iPhone is for you. If you want choice, Android all the way. I hope you'll come back into the light soon

Thanks for your comments. Like I said in my original comment, I like Diztronic and a long time customer. Used them on a all my devices since Galaxy Nexus for a simple reason that you were among the only first few to bring out a case for that phone ... lol. Keep up the good work.
i'm keen on the red one, does anyone have any real life pictures (and not with some crappy Nexus 4 camera! ) of them (either fitted to an OPO or just sitting on a table) ?

Oh I agree the 5 is garbage. But 6 Plus on iOS 8.1 is the best phone I've ever used by a great distance. You are right, they need a launcher update, but there are many other things they are killing android on right now. Integration for one, I can and reply to sms from iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook. I'm not abandoning Android, I buy just about every major phone that comes out for testing purposes. If I like the Nexus 6 better, I'll keep it. I doubt I will though, as I really don't like stock Android. TouchWiz fan!

We haven't released it yet in that color,,but it's the same shade red as our regular OPO case. Many pictures floating around of that model.
Just ordered one amazon prime. Will post review when I get it.
I already have a case for my OPO, but I couldn't resist and ordered this one in gray color. Can't wait
hope it's available on amazon.ca soon!

I've been waiting anxiously and I received mine today. I had previously been using the Tudia Slim-Fit Cygen case as I tend to prefer dual layer cases. Considering that most phone drops end up hitting on the corners I looked forward to the Diztronic Ultra's bulked up corners. So far I am happy with the product and the bulked up corners and the thicker tpu. I actually wish the corners were a little bigger. I used to have a Ballistic SG case on my old Nexus 4 and I miss that level of protection but I guess that's the compromise you make when you get a Oneplus One.
That is exactly the comparison I was going to make, they aren't as pronounced as the ballistic case. Hardly protrude, just enough to do their job. I personally love this case, by far my favorite TPU case on the market. This is our 5th time trying it, and the sales numbers on past models haven't been great. I'm not giving up on it though, I almost gave up on our regular matte back cases a couple years back, but now they are the best selling TPU cases on Amazon. Sometimes it just takes a little while to get the word out and build up momentum. It's a significantly better design than our regular TPU and still thin form factor.
This design takes us a little longer to make and costs a bit more to manufacture, so the Ultra will always be released at a minimum two weeks after our regular TPU. That doesn't help sales either, as the longer you take to release the more buried the product gets in the search results. Luckily (for us, not you) on OnePlus there is very few cases anyways so this should reach the front page of amazons "OnePlus one case" search results rather quickly.

In the USA we sell on Amazon, in other countries we sell TO Amazon. Selling to Amazon is a much slower roll out as they first put up the listing and place an order for 1 measly unit. Then if it sells, they'll order more. They progressively keep ordering more based on how many sales they are getting. The problem is, not as many people are going to order it when it shows as being out of stock or "ships in 4-6 weeks". I wish they'd just order at least a couple hundred right off the bat, but amazons inventory calculations are done by a computer algorithm, not a human.

ah I see, I purchased the normal case from amazon.ca too and it said 3-4 weeks but it was shipped in 2 weeks! hehe I would buy it from the site directly or amazon.com but shipping is 7$ to Montreal :crying: so hopefully amazon.CA buys from you soon! do you think if I message them they would move their butts? or is it arbitrary

I think out of the leather cases this is by far my favorite.. but $129?? I guess it's worth it to protect a $600 device right? What I like about it is it doesnt look cheap and it doesnt seem to add too much bulk to the device

Anyone see something similar?
There are sooooo few cases out right now. Not a big fan of the any with the exception of this one. There is a leather Motorolla Portfolio, but hard to find pics of it...and that get's mixed reviews.
I did pre-order the piel frama case...and was told it will not be "released until Mid April". I guess until then we won't have any new pics of what it really looks like.

From what I read about other cases they have made they really seem top notch. I read the leather is hand done etc.. I'm trying to find out if I can find a coupon code for cases.com to get it a little cheaper.
With all the other cases out there so far, I find one thing I like in one but really dislike another thing about it. That goes for pretty much every other case I have looked at..The only thing I dont really like is the price tag. lol But I think I can live with that more than a case that I'm 90% happy with. It looks well made and it has a simple classy look to it. I think I might go for it.
ok, they did offer me a 10% discount.. I'm still debating if I'm going to fork over that kind of cash for a case. Just in case the coupon code is a one time deal I will not post it yet. I will post it after I either decide to purchase it or not then I will post it here. I just dont want to post it while I'm deciding someone else use it and if it is a one time deal and I decide to get it I'm screwed lol
10% That's not bad! I heard Vaja may be coming out with a case too, but no clue on what it looks like or price.
If you hold off, I'll post some pics, but who knows when this will be here....can't rush quality
I'm using a moto silicon case with a skinomi shield....works okay, but want a portfolio case.
No experience of the Xoom case but I have used a Piel Frama with my HTC Blackstone for about two years. Still looks new and smells of cow.
Well made, quality leather, hence the price tag.

They told me it would be shipping in the middle or late April. I really like that case but not sure I want to spend that much for a case.. decisions decisions lol
I bought the stock motorola portfolio case for $40 bucks and it works perfectly. We're android users not iPad socialites... please don't spend $129 bucks on a case...
My case gives me decent viewing angles without breaking the bank.
Save that money and purchase some great apps for your device instead (just my opinion)

You can definitely see a difference in the pics of the quality of the leather though. The Kevikev case's leather kind of looks cheap in my opinion if you look at the red picture up close it almost looks like pleather.

dam it...I just saw this post after I already put the order in...maybe they'll be nice enough and let me attach the 10% off if I call it in now...
I preordered through Cellularaccessory.com for $58.
Just confirmed with their sales on the phone that they will ship from their warehouse on 6/14.
I remember there is a free shipping code floating around somewhere too.
So if you can wait a few days more, you can save a nice $30 less tax with these guys.
just gave otterbox a call...gave the sales rep the promocode and was able to get the 10% off and because their computers are down at the moment he gave me an additional 10%...
can't wait to get this in and on the XOOM...

There are videos of the bb and ipad.
But honestly, what's ur alternative?
Almost 100 bucks? Now I need a case to protect my Otterbox.
i have one of this case from Kevikev http://kevikev.com/addtocart.sc it only cost be abot $35 back when i got it. believe it or not it is a lot more of a professional looking case and very stylish. i can walk into work with it, or even church. with the otterbox case i'll look like a construction worker. or someone who work with a lot of kids and don't want my xoom to damage. and honestly i don't see the extra protection in the otterbox case. cuz i won't be droping my xoom anytime soon. and so the case is mainly to serve as a stand and a jacket for the device. not a bullet proof.
i also just came across this from the walmart site. it actually look similar to otterbox, obviously not as strong from the looks of it, but design wise it is very similar without the hard screen cover/stand for the otterbox. check it out, if i do seem to find more information on it, i'll give it a try, they also do a free site to store, so yo can pick it up at your local walmart for free. and it only cost $14. maybe a couple dollars extra for tax. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Amzer-Transparent-Jelly-Case-for-Motorola-XOOM-Black/16539974

If you're fine with putting a $600+ tablet in a standard folio case just because you're worried about what people with think when they see you with it, then have at it. Personally I want a case to PROTECT my device and I don't care what other people think about it's appearance. It's known that the otterbox cases add a little bit to the size, but the protection they are known to afford the devices make up for that.
I had a standard plastic shell case on my phone and after I dropped it onto asphalt getting into my truck one day it broke apart. The phone was undamaged so I was lucky. I got an otterbox case after that and I don't freak out now if I drop the phone (which I have a few times) because I know it's not going to get damaged. I have the standard motorola folio case and have been waiting for this one to come out so I can stop worrying about dropping my xoom. I'm not going to buy it from otterbox though because I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere.
The one from walmart is just a silicone case. The otterbox is a polycarbonate shell with a silicone case around it. BIG difference there in the protection. Even in the name is says "transparent JELLY case".

i obviously bought my case becasue i like it. not becasue someone said to buy it. you seem to have miss the point. by stating that the case is a professional and stylish case was my opinion based on my needs. and for my job, the otterbox case is just not going to cut it, also my opinion. and FYI, the cases i have do "PROTECT"t my device so it wouldn't matter what people say including you. my point that the case will me look like a construction worker, was also my opinion. becasue it goes to fact that if i work consruction i would want the extra protection. i don't drop my xoom, like you have. so the extra wight and looks is not my style.
otterbox cases was made for folks who want maxumum protection, i for one had an otterbox case when i had an iphone. it was worth it then, becasue i could drop my phone often. but my XOOM will not be tasting the floor anythime soon, becasue i am very carefull with it. unlike a phone i have no reason to have it on my lap when driving and will never forget it's on my lap before i get out of the car, i have made that mistake with my phone several time.
as for the case on walmart, i was just giving an alternative for a cheaper case for those who will want otterbox but can't spend that much. that's why it's cal;l alternative. it cost less, and it will obviously not be the same as the otterbox case. as i said in that post it looks similar in design, but obviously not the same strenght. otterbox do have their customer market, like you. which is not a bad thing, it's just not a one size fit all. some people like me don't have the need for an otterbox case, because i also bought my xoom the looks. i like how it feels and it's design. so i want to enjoy that.
that's why i laught when i see people with the ipad2, saying it is so light and thin, but they have it cover in an otterbox case that makes it looks and feels like the original ipad.to me it;s like why did you buy it based on how thin it was, only to put it ina bullet proof jacket. and i mean let;s face it, a couple yes from now, when there is a xoom 2 or even xoom 3, you know you'll be wanting to get that one as well. and will likey pass this on to someone or sell it. technology is leap year ahead. so there will always be the next generation product.
otterbox did build a name for themselve with good quality product. it was popular with alot of people, mostly teenager, who don't want their summer paycheck to go in breeze with one drop. so ennjoy your otterbox case my friend, i was just stating my opinion, i wasn't dogging otterbox. it's just not a one size fit all. and some people like me bought my xoom for the look as well as the brain. and looks does matter in the tech world. that's why everyone want to make the pretty phones, thin, big screen, shiney cover, and all tht good stuff.
i bet you won't be buying a old IBM laptop over an HP or Apple. cuz you want the pretty choice not the big and bulky IBM. you want the thin and lightweight next generation laptop. same thing with cars and just about everything else. so let's face it looks matters. and it's not about how others view it, it's about how you will like it, cuz you the one that's gonna spend the most time with it.

i obviously bought my case becasue i like it. not becasue someone said to buy it. you seem to have miss the point. by stating that the case is a professional and stylish case was my opinion based on my needs. and for my job, the otterbox case is just not going to cut it, also my opinion. and FYI, the cases i have do "PROTECT"t my device so it wouldn't matter what people say including you. my point that the case will me look like a construction worker, was also my opinion. becasue it goes to fact that if i work consruction i would want the extra protection.

Your exact words were "i can walk into work with it, or even church. with the otterbox case i'll look like a construction worker. or someone who work with a lot of kids and don't want my xoom to damage". That says you don't want it because it will make you LOOK "like a construction worker" to your coworkers and church members. If you don't care, then it shouldn't matter.
i don't drop my xoom, like you have. so the extra wight and looks is not my style.

I never said I dropped my Xoom. I've dropped my cell phone and there have been times where I've worried about dropping my Xoom, but I have never ACTUALLY dropped it. My point is that if it offers more protection I could care less if other people (including yourself) think it would make me look like a "construction worker". I've never received those opinions about my phone and I doubt anyone would make the same opinion about my Xoom were it in an otterbox. Now, if it had bright yellow markings on it and was much heftier than it is, I could see someone saying it looked like it belonged on a construction site.
otterbox cases was made for folks who want maxumum protection, i for one had an otterbox case when i had an iphone. it was worth it then, becasue i could drop my phone often. but my XOOM will not be tasting the floor anythime soon, becasue i am very carefull with it. unlike a phone i have no reason to have it on my lap when driving and will never forget it's on my lap before i get out of the car, i have made that mistake with my phone several time.

I don't see how something that is completely different from the otterbox would be an alternative to it. That's like saying any other case out there on the market is an alternative to the otterbox. Sure they may be alternatives to "cases" in general, but they're not good alternatives to the otterbox unless they are similar in design. Now if you linked to a cheaper shell case with a silicone outer case instead of just a simple silicone case, there would be no argument that it would be an alternative to the otterbox.
otterbox do have their customer market, like you. which is not a bad thing, it's just not a one size fit all. some people like me don't have the need for an otterbox case, because i also bought my xoom the looks. i like how it feels and it's design. so i want to enjoy that.

Which is the same reason someone buys an iPad. I bought mine for function over form. You can take a piece of **** and put a pretty bow on it and it's still going to be a piece of ****. The Xoom, on the other hand, is a pretty slick device inside and out so even if you buy it because of "the looks" then you're still getting a good device.

Actually I wouldn't buy any of those, but I wouldn't buy an "old" anything. I would never consider buying an apple laptop because they charge too much for what you actually get, and I have never really liked hp laptops. Even IBM knows that lighter is better because laptops are more portable as ever these days and with competition between laptops/netbooks/tablets they have to keep up. Their new lenovo laptops aren't the big ol bricks they used to be. I buy for the purpose I need it for. If I'm going to have a laptop I never take away from the house I would go for something like an alienware or XPS system that aren't the lightest things in the world, but they're powerful. When I was in the military I had a panasonic toughbook and loved it. Damn thing was almost bulletproof just on it's own. I would prefer to have the whole package of form AND function, but if I had to choose between an old datsun 280Z that ran like a dream and a brand new nissan Z that could barely go into gear/had no stereo/transmission falling apart I would go for the 280z that ran. I will choose function over form any day as long as it gets the job done.
My last post was a little off topic, so to be a litter more ON-topic XD if they sold a commuter case as well I would be all over it. For anyone that doesn't know the difference, the commuter case has the silicone around the device and the poly shell on the outside instead of the other way around with the defender. It seems like the commuter cases are only made for phones though.
lol..you are such a fun guy to chat with. you broke it all down. which i like. however to all your point as stated it is simply opinion. by me saying i can walk into work or church is my opinion. and i'll say this otterbox on a phone doesn't look bad, becasue of the form factor. it is small and not as obvious as it would be on a xoom. that's why i can quickly pick u when someone has an ipad2 with the bullet proof jacket on. and so you might not have gotten the construction worker comment, becasue people wont say that to you, especially after when they don't know the device you have. ie. i have had aye people as me if my xoom was the ipad. the look on my face usually answer the question.
but i'll tell you man, when i see the otterbox on a tablet (so far only the ipad i've seen) it reminds me of constructon worker doing survey in the field, and that's just a picture in my head, which i not a bad thing i should say. there is nothing agains construction worker. it could easily be one of those at&t workers on a poll connecting telephone wires, or a comcast cable guy doing connection test. those are the target market for otterbox. not that they don't appreciate you the regular folk buying their product. but they are targetting a different market with those bullet proof jacket.
Otterbox
Got my otterbox for xoom and installed it:
Pros:
Great protection
can dock without removing case
access to power button with and without outtershell attached.
well built
can power without removing from case
ports are wellsealed
Cons:
the outer shell design adds too much thickness via excess space (see comparison pic between iPad I and Xoom Otterbox case.
Outer shell squishy due to excess space.(poor design)
1st pic outer shell on Xoom. So much space you can see through it
2d pic outer shell on iPad nice and sleek (looks good)
3rd pic side by side comparison

Any ideas how you would redesign it to remove the excess space? I'm assuming that space was put there on purpose to accommodate for something else.
i think the space is to prevent any damage to the screen by scratching. because the cover has parts that prop it up to make a stand. that could be a reason. but i don't have one, so i can't be sure. but we'll find out soon.

Mine came in already, just wish I was home to unpack it. I'll update you guys tomorrow night.
First off - let me disclaimer this:
Some people want the Fort Knox of cases. They are clumsy with their phone. They've experienced dropping their phone several feet to the ground. They want impact protection. The G-Shock of phone cases. And they aren't afraid to carry something the size of a brick with the appearance of something from Toys 'R Us in trade for that protection. No problem. Obviously there's no shortage of THOSE cases.
My problem is that there ONLY seem to be cases made for those kinds of people.
I'm looking for a case that more or less barely wraps the phone - not for impact resistance, but abrasion resistance, light protection from scratches. I keep my phone in my pocket 100% of the time, and I'm more than respectfully careful when it's out - call me paranoid. But I know from experience with [all my other phones that I've never bought a case for] that light scratches can appear over time.
One of the BEST things about the SGS2 is the thin profile of the phone - and I'm already disappointed to have lost 1mm of that thinness, but willing to live with it. With a phone this size already, I'm not willing to lose millimeters more. It's supposed to be a thin phone.
Jokes about Apple lawsuits aside, I wish there were a case more akin to the iPhone 4's bumper case - something that offered just minimal protection - when setting the phone down, perhaps a little impact protection of the phone were to fall - but not taking away from the overall thin profile of the phone with an enveloping, thick back panel. Hell, if I eventually had to replace the battery door, I can do that for less than the cost of a new case anyway.
Are there any cases for guys who want thin? Who don't want it for impact protection, just simple, pocketable, wear protection against minor scratches and the like? And - can that case look classy?
I've only seen this one, but it's for the regular SGSII, not the sprint version:
http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...-S-II-Barely-There-Brushed-Aluminum-Cases.asp
Even that wraps fully around the phone and adds thickness... it merely offers the promise of being thin.
What's the thinnest option out there, if impact resistance weren't a concern?
I got my tpu case on with out the back battery cover, and it feels fairly thin, and will still provide some protection. The case is without the back cover stay flush with the camera. I am going to order another one with matte finish.
The TPU's are good and cheap too. A good holdover until the barelythere comes out...which I predict will be within a couple weeks.

The TPU-cases are really nice, and I was surprised that it didn't add much thickness at all. I did post a review here, along with some pictures.
The carbon kickstand case you can get at the store is perfect imo. The phone feels no bigger with it on.
I wish Rearth (http://www.rearthusa.com/) would make a case for the ET4G, but last I emailed them they weren't intererested at this time since A) it wasn't out yet, and B) they didn't anticipate high demand for it.
The reviews on the international SII cases were really good too :-/

How's that sprint kickstand case? Is it the fold into a triangle kick stand or an actual bar that pops up? It looks similar to my buddy's trianglish plastic kickstand case on his tmobile GSI vibrant and that thing is a piece of junk. Fits the phone like it was chisselled out of plastic, looks like $hit.
For $30 it better be sexy.

Not a triangle but a little wider than most bar kickstands I've seen. My gripe with that case is it doesn't cover the top and bottom of the phone, it fits more like a holster than a case. And for $30 thats IMO unacceptable.
I'm waiting for seidio to make a case for this phone, loved the innocase I have on my hero and it wasnt very thick at all.
How about a stick on skin if you want the thinnest "cover" possible?

I'm using a gloss-black TPU at the moment (and loving it) but I'm really considering one of those kickstands. I've put my phone in one a few times. It looks good but for the money it feels really inadequate.
Thanks for all the good suggestions...
I did actually read that review of the TPU case... one of my coworkers has one on his 3D. In his case, it covered the camera hump and made the phone thinner - the implementation on this phone seems much better.
For the money, it's tempting to at least as a stop gap to use for a few months to see what becomes available - or I'll just use none as a stop gap, like I've done with all my other phones. This one just seems like a phone worthy of babying more than I already do baby my lifeline.
A skin... I'm not aware of any, but I'm initially cringing thinking of what kind of vinyl wrap that may imply... cartoon characters, immature sayings, dragons and swords, flames, or what? Maybe something that's just a texture or color?

There are a number of companies that make removable, transparent "full body" skins. I've had good luck with both Skinomi and Zagg protectors in the past.

I have a Rearth case for the international SGS2 and though it's a tight fit, it can be used on the ET4G. Bear in mind, some of the cutouts aren't aligned quite right, but I can use the camera and also charge with the case on.

That's a reseller type site... according to a few other spots around the net, Case-Mate has the barely there, pop, and tough cases coming out starting 9/29 or so. Whether or not this is legit, I still cannot say... but hopefully.
Well, this may be good news. That aluminum one for the original GSII looks pretty classy, I would pick one of those up if available...

Just emailed support to ask with a link to the item listed; I should hear back in next couple of days. From the listing, it looks like the kind of site that sells to 3rd party vendors, and since the packaging says Sprint branded, I suspect this is meant for non-corporate Sprint stores. Just a guess, but I will update if I hear anything back.
PS I bought the kickstand case and I kinda hated it, returned it within the hour... felt flimsy and overpriced, and it was more of a bad holster than a case; barely held the phone in and the kickstand was very tough to un-clip. I never say a product is not for anyone, but it certainly wasn't for me.

Hi XDA,
Time for another case review, again from the good people over at Noreve. The company, based in France, is well known for making extremely high quality, genuine leather cases for mobile devices and tablets. In total, this is my 8th Noreve case - that should be a testament of the quality and how much I love these cases.
As always, Noreve does an impeccable job with packaging.
As an extra bonus, you get a soft carrying case for your case as well.
Upon opening the box, you are greeted with that addictive leather smell. It's weird to be smelling your phone all the time, but the case just smells that good. There is nothing quite like high quality, genuine leather.
The case is very solid and feels great in the hand. This model is from the Ambition series, and it seems to be even softer than their standard
Perpetuelle series. Very comfortable to hold, won't slip easily, and even if it does, you're well protected in every way.
Here is the case with a look from the front. Note that you have a cutout for the indicator LED, and also the metal speaker grille. I personally love the metal speaker grille.
Note that they have left enough of a cut out for the microphone and speaker on the bottom of the device.
A shot with the case open.
As you can see from the side views, they is ample room for the volume rocker and power button. Everything is as it should be.
And finally, a shot of the back of the case, revealing the cut out for the camera, which is perfect. This is a model without a belt clip, which is personal preference. If you would like a belt clip installed, then Noreve provides both a choice of metal and/or plastic and no extra charge. Very thoughtful of them.
The only gripe I would have with this case is that the magnet is not quite strong enough. Perhaps it's only the model I reviewed here, but when you fold the front part of the case backwards (when writing a text for example) it has a tendency to flap around a bit, rather than being locked in place by the magnet. Still, not really a big deal, as your hands are usually gripping the phone from behind anyway while using the device.
Overall I would say that this is another fantastic case from Noreve. Haven't really come across a bad one so far, the genuine leather and protective qualities are always a winner with me. And there's just something about it being hand made in France. In this day and age, where almost everything of this sort is made in China from cheap materials, I really do applaud Noreve for sticking to the tradition of hand crafting leather goods. They also offer a staggering array of finishes and colors for your case, pretty much whatever you can think of, they have to offer.
Here is a link to the Nexus 5 product page.
Cheers!

If anyone has ever looked at premium leather cases like Noreve then you know how much these cases are. I am a fan of them, even though they really screwed up my order for my Nexus 4 lol. But growing pains of a small company.
These cases remind me of the old Vaja iVolution cases I had for my Sony Clie NX70 lol. I actually came across my old pda in my desk the other day. I was tempted to power it up lol. In any case, great review and I hope they improved in estimating the time frame to get the cases done. I waited 3 months without a word for my Nexus 4 until I told them to cancel my order. Not sure what happened, but that was my personal experience with them the first go around. I may go and try again, dunno. Depends if I feel like waiting a month for a case because of the hand crafting .
No offense of course to the OP, but is it me or does this case not look very appealing. I understand it is high quality and everything but especially for the 50 euros they're asking for I don't think it looks that great. It just looks kind of "mushy" to me. I also find it weird that it opens vertically.

That is very strange, I think you may have just had some bad luck. All of my orders have arrived within a week, except the Nexus 7 case I have from them, which was custom made. That arrived in 3 weeks.
I would give them another try because if you like leather, you will love the fit and finish of these cases. And long time no see! I remember you from the Nexus 7 sub-forums, but I have been absent for quite a while.

That would be correct good sir.
Has anyone got the UAG Monarch case for the S8 Plus? Is it worthy of the price? Is the drop protection really that good? Any downsides? Thanks
personal reference.
Yes, It's worth it.
Very Premium looking without the bulk and over priced sticky plastic like other Brand "otter whatever b0x".
When you have it in your hand, make you feel like climb mountains or hike some trails. ^_~
Protection is real good, haven't tested myself, but I feel like it will stand up against my daily oops, but have not yet slipped.
I Have their other style case the "plasma series" for a while and them when through some beating and came out the winner.
Felt down a 6 flight of stairs like it didn't happen. dog chew on it and slid on some pebbles ground, case side with just some scuffs in the case. And this Monarch is, even more, protections, so I say Yes, drop test certified.
And "10 years warranty, what other cases have it? Not that anyone will ever need it, who uses a smartphone more than 10yrs, right.
Works with lots of case friendly GlassSP.
Downside,? to me, NON.
Because it's just what I expect my case to be like. Protection, looks, mini bulk.
But for most People who like to show off the beautiful backside of their Gorgeous phone. Then this is not the right case.
I think the time looking for cases are over for me.
UAG Monchach will be on every one of my phones.
I love it. I'm not about to test the drop protection, but I had a UAG case on my S4 and it served me quite well. Considering that a comparable otter box is 50 bucks, I felt like this was worth it.
I have had bad luck with this brand. Owned three for different tablets and all of them had faults. Not used on on a mobile though as for me they look just too industrial given the S8+ is such an elegant mobile I feel this case is just OTT. It will, or should, protect the mobile BUT many cases do and do so looking much more in line with the aesthetic of this beautiful looking mobile.
I totally accept its a preference and respect those that do use this brand. One last point they are truly hideously priced in Europe. The last UAG case I bought was for the Surface Pro 4. Cost me 70€! Developed a fault so went back for a full refund. I understand the case for the S8+ is 50€!

You say industrial, I say rugged. I've always liked the look of these cases. Imo it turns an elegant phone into a rugged phone when needed. There aren't very phone cases that are this minimal but still leaves your phone feeling protected.
Thanks for the replies! Yes they are £50 in the UK which is about 59 euros. Everything is really expensive here, now. Just need to find the Monarch in stock now.
Ever since having phones that UAG didn't support I started using cases from Supcase and have never went back to UAG's overpriced cases. They literally use the same materials and the protection is equal, but at 1/5th the price and fast shipping through Amazon. I also think their cases look better IMO. Save your money and try out a Supcase and if you don't like it send it back.

Now try and find a screen saver to protect that screen! Good luck with that.

I've got some protectors that will do the job for now. They are very thin and quite soft TPU, not the most protective but they can be trimmed if needed so are ok with cases :good:

Same here. After using UAG and Otter, the Supcase Unicorn Beetle is my goto now. I mean a 10yr warranty is great but whose going to have the same mobile in 10yrs? I tried the Spigen Tough Armor and it didnt feel like it held the phone well, and didnt give enough lift to the phone screen off my desktop to make me comfortable. The Supcase is well worth the price so far. Considering its $18 US, with the belt clip. Its survived 2 falls so far no damage :good:
To me it is. I have 10 cases for my S8+ and I use it the most.

You own 10 cases for your mobile? You must be very fashion conscious.
