Dear XDA...
Hi...
First i installed Raptor X ROM on my XS Device...,
Then for some reasons i managed to brick my phone,,,! (i used an boot.img with fastboot from flashtool to run recovery and i bricked my phone !)
with holding up volume and power and ... everything solved and i flashed ftf .96 rom with flashtools,
now every time i flash a new rom om my device like carbon or paranoid or anything else,,, first boot is without problem but when i restart my phone it stuck on Sony logo, and recovery doesn't come up !
only official ftf roms work on my device with flashtool !

CM based rom uses cm based kernel, and won't work with stock... Flash cm based rom + cm based kernel and then try loading up.

Don't worry, it is not a problem with You. The second boot takes very long time, approx 10-15 minutes. And all it will show You is the Sony logo. So install the ROM again, perform second boot, keep it idle for 10-15 minutes.

Don't use any there kernel than the one provided with ROM unless You saw someone test it . As for "the second boot being fast before", You must have downloaded a new version of the Carbon and PA. Both of them use similar kernel and hence suffer from same problem. If You were to flash an older version, You will see that normal boot time on second boot.

Im new at this so please be patient
So recently i root my device and i tried to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836818. I did follow the instructions completely but it sad that i can use rom manager through phone. So i started rom manager and search for .zip file (costum rom) and than i backup everything. I turn off my device and turn it on while pressing the down volume key and then it went to recovery mode i think and started backing up and installing costum rom. I installed it and it say it needs to reboot to work so i rebooted and now my phone wont start and its stuck on Sony logo and i left it like that for hours and it doesnt do anything.
So i dont know what to do. Im freaking out here. So please if theres any way you could help me i would be very thankful.

Did you install kernel
I think there is a problem in your kernel. :silly:
EVERY ROM NEEDS IT'S CORRESPONDING KERNEL TO GET BOOTED :silly:
I don't know whether you have installed the corresponding ICS KERNEL or not.
IF this would be the case it would work for sure.:good:
OTHERWISE I WOULD SUGGEST OTHER POSSIBILITY
PLZ HIT THANKS BUTTON IF I HELPED
same problem with me too

Just flash the kernel through fastboot. Get the kernel from where you downloaded the ROM.
Enter into Recovery. Wipe dalvik cache, cache partition and user data.
Reflash the ROM and Reboot the device.
got solution,,dont worry
use flashtool to get back...and use original kernel ..past to flashtool/firmware.now open the flashtool,,press icon thunder.tick flashmode and connectyour phone to usb to pc/laptop(phone must on ) and flash ittttt.unplug it..and take your battry out from you phone(to off phone)..then ready to plug usb (press back button)and putt battry together..wait for finish,,and...hooorey2

Hi Sam,
You can use CWM to format "system", and clear the cache.
Then re-flash the rom, and see if that allows you to boot up normally.
If this fails, then you can flash one of the stock roms on this thread to get your phone up and running again - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188
Once you are up and running, remember to make a CWM backup before trying something risky (and yes, Google apps can be considered risky )

OK, so now you need to use "flashtool" - you'll have to search for it on the forums if you don't know what to look for...
Then you can find the firmware for your phone on this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22105604
When you use flashtool with a firmware like this it overwrites the entire operating system with one that definitely works - even if you have a locked boot-loader.
Once you have a working phone you can start with the whole root and custom rom thing again...
Good luck
the reason for your bootloop is wrong kernel i think... you may have tried to flash jellybean rom with ics kernel...try to change kernel if you wanna flash jb again

Hello, Hotfingers
I'm sorry to revive this old thread, but I seem to have the same problem - only I flashed back to my stock firmware using flashtool and it's STILL stuck on the Sony logo for a whole half hour with nothing new on the screen. Can anyone help me out here?
edit: never mind, I found out that I was flashing the kernel the whole time rather than the firmware. Thank you very much for the help!
Hotfingers please Help ME
the phone only shows the sony logo but does connect by fastboot.
i have attached the log. the flashtool wont go pass where it says device connected.
please help....
same problem here
To recover, put your phone into flashmode and then install stock firmware from a FTF file by using Flashtool.

Re-flash original Arc S .587 TFT through Flashtool. It should work !
For an ICS-based kernel, you can try Lupus v16 (with CWM included).

Boot your phone keeping the menu button. You'll enter fastboot mod, then connect it to your PC with Flashtool opened and flash the .img file.
Hope I helped you !

Hi All,
Sorry for the noob post, first time 'modding' my Acro S, but I have flashed lots of rom's on my old Xperia X10.
I unlocked my bootloader and installed a kernel containing CWM recovery today, and since doing that I have not been able to boot my phone past the Sony logo, it just reboots. I have tried to install a couple of ROM's but neither boot (Existenz Ultra & Emerald Smooth. Emerald Smooth fails with status 7 error, Existenz Ultra says it installs but still no boot. Also tried Honami rom but download always fails between 89% and 92%, tried 3 times). i also can't power off the phone, it just keeps rebooting. I have tried to repair my phone with PC Companion but it won't work due to the unlocked bootloader.
I would really like to install a stable custom rom as I found the stock rom had alot of lag, but at this stage I just want to get the phone working again! Can anyone guide me to which kernel files to install which include the latest cwm, how to install them and suggestions of which rom to use?
Thanks in advance guys!

Hi,
To turn off your device, press and hold the volume up+power button combination until you get 3 vibrations. At this point, your device will be powered off. You can now connect it to your pc in flash mode. Please use Flashtool by Androxyde to flash the stock rom as your bootloader is unlocked. Once the flash procedure is complete, normally turn on your device and it should boot up properly. After that, you will have to flash a custom kernel like this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2309117
Then you can flash any custom rom in cwm.

I have flashed an stock kernel with Flashtool , then rooted the device with this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/development/e6853-root-unlocked-bootloader-t3255039
I had the Romaum custom rom, but now if I try to flash it, then the phone keeps rebooting every time after the Xperia Logo, also if I restore a Romaur backup same thing happens.
I have the bootloader unlocked and TWRP Bootloader
What am I doing wrong?

Flash Aur-Kernel-V4.0 (make sure to use one for device) or Zach kernel (1_9_4 works very well at the moment, newest ones are a bit unstable, but you can test them for yourself and see, this one works great for me with RomAur 4.2.1) and you should be able to boot...might bootloop a few times at first but let it do its thing....
Stock modified kernel never worked for me with that rom
Is doesn't work with any custom ROM, after the XPeria Logo, screen blackout and red light blinks 4 times before shutting down. :crying:

What rom and kernel, twrp version and superSU version are you trying to use?
When and if you get to the blinking red led...don't force stop the phone, just let it bootloop as many times as it wants, it should load at some point, seen it happened before....
Okay, my fault.
I was using and old version of boot.img and twrp.
Here Works:
