When I open chrome beta it is not full screen. How do it get it to its usual full size?
Use chrome.

Yea I switched to chrome. I guess not using beta isn't that big of a deal. Thanks for the response

I'm going to jump on this thread while it's still fresh, if nobody minds.
I just switched my Nexus 5 from CM11 to PA4.6b6 two days ago, and this is the only remaining issue. I launched Chrome Beta the first time, and it showed up as a small, greyed window in the middle of my screen. Eff that, I said, and looked for advice on the internet. I found this thread, installed Chrome itself, launched that and was pleased to see it occupy the full screen (not immersively, mind you).
I just tapped my Chrome shortcut again moments ago to find that it was now opening in that little, greyed out window. Wtf, I wondered. I tried Beta. Same thing. I closed both windows by tapping the home nav, and then i opened Chrome again from the recent apps list. Et voila, it's back to full size.
My questions are "wtf?", "how do I make it just use the available real estate and not open in that terrible tiny dark window?", and "should I file a JIRA issue for this? Is this srsly expected behavior?"
I love the ROM, I love the work you guys do, and I wanna be helpful, so let me know if there's anything else I can provide or tell you about my experience.
Thank you!
Well, Google pushed their beta changes to stable. The problem is a flag that Google set that launches chrome in windowed mode...
We are trying to figure out a way around it but with work heavy on lollipop right now, kitkat may fall by the wayside.
The temporary solution is to go back to an older version of chrome.
#stayparanoid
I can get behind the idea of work being heavy on Lollipop, so no worries there. I'll be seriously excited to see new builds based on 5.0, so work away! I presume there's no ETA on that as of yet, right?
No EtA
#stayparanoid
Workaround:
Open Chrome
Hit Home
Relaunch chrome from recent apps
As long as Chrome isn't killed, it will remain full screen.
I also got a backup from Chrome v38.
Will share on request.

Nicely found, confirmed on a n7
For anyone running Xposed. Download Xhalofloatingwindow module and blacklist Chrome. That worked for me

I'm sorry, but do you mean Chrome beta on Paranoid Android, or just Chrome Beta in general? I have used Chrome Beta before, but this has never happened to me.

ANY ROM.
Google has fixed it in their latest beta though.

Chrome Beta is released for ICS. I just downloaded from the market. Any pro and cons compared to the default browser?
Pros
Faster than default browser
Nice transitions
Easy tab management
Cons
No Arabic/Hebrew support (awkward)
no flash
Pretty much the same with visual enhancements
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
I find they made the zooming a lot better than the stock browser. It has more of a mobile safari feel to it which I think is a good thing. Also, I love the fact that you can get to the open tabs on your desktop chrome.
There are missing things such as the quick control and the URL bar doesn't go away so you can't have full screen. I think it is also missing the feature to request the desktop version of a page also.

The no flash is defiantly a deal breaker for me, but hey, remember it is free and still in beta!
Also there is no way to change the UAString which means it will always be stuck in "Mobile" until/if they add the ability to change it (All websites will come up in mobile view).
Great info here. I was not aware of the lack of flash, but everyting else seems ok. Since it is just Beta, I am hoping for some great improvements. Browsing is WAY faster!
Cons:
- no flash... Ever
- pages run as mobile with no option to switch to desktop
- no accessibility options ... Can't run pages with inverted Colours
- runs as a service, eating up precious ram
- no chrome extensions - vs. Firefox mobile with plugins, Chrome is pathetic
I have no idea why anyone would use this as a primary browser, considering the stock browser is superior is almost every way.
It is just a Beta release.....

Beta means that you can't complain for it missing something.
Google likes to "release early and iterate quickly". Which means a lot of things come out as Beta.
Immediately after getting ICS on my TF101, I installed Chrome Beta, it is nice, but as others have already said:
Pro:
- bookmark sync, i just LIKE IT, works same as desktop chrome: start typing url and it will autocomplete from your bookmarks... missed it on old browser.
Con:
- No arabic support (while default browser does support arabic)
- No flash, which i don't need much, i have it disabled on default Browser.
will it ever support extensions? that will be great

Which part? The way people use the term beta or the fact that there aren't many features?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I see people didnt bring up the fact that you cant get rid of (at the very least) the status bar like you can with the Google Labs option in the stock ICS browser. Id use Chrome beta every second I was online with my SGN if I could "maximize" the screen.

I'm not questioning features, i'm questioning your expectations of a BETA product and your understanding of what BETA means. It seems to me that you're expecting this to be some magical browser from day one, which it is certainly not - that's why it's a damn BETA!
You guys are not aware of this pro:
It stops redirecting websites, just like desktop browsers. Opera, Dolphin, Firefox, or stock browser doesn't have this.
For me, this is the biggest plus.
When you email yourself or someone else a page using Chrome on your GN? Does it leave the subject blank? It's driving me nuts!
Hi All,
I received the latest update for the Chrome Beta on my GNexus, and it now seems to have a big issue with the wikipedia mobile site.
If you got to a page that has a table at the top, for instance:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/Helium
If you then try to scroll the page, it refuses to move the page unless you touch the screen outside of the top table.
I have submitted a bug report to Google, but I was wondering if anyone else had found the same issue?
yup I see what you mean, it's happening on mine too....I needed to touch on the tables edge or outside it that is in order to scroll the page
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Same here. It has happened to me only with wikipedia mobile site. Everything's going great with other sites until now...
Same for me, only on facebook though

How did you get the latest update? I don't think I got mine, and it's not showing up as needing to update on the Play Market.
I have version 18.01025.133

You probably got auto-updated. 18.0.1025.133 is the latest when looking in the "about Chrome" tab in the settings menu.
Ah, thanks.
And I too notice this issue with Wiki. The heck...
Mine as well. Much slower load times as well. Very disappointing update.
I have an issue more with the loading of pages. Before, if I scrolled down, it would already have the entire page loaded. Now, if I scroll down, I tend to get a teal colored bottom half covering whatever parts of the page weren't visible, as if it's loading the page as I scroll.
i cant even get my latest google chrome to load, i keep getting force closes right as i open it.
Not work with low dpi, you need to set 240 dpi. Hope an update coming soon for low dpi :-(
i thought i was the only on with this problem
Google chrome .16. It works fine. There is a kink in the latest chrome and aokp and cm9 roms

Its disappointing chrome takes a good 5 seconds or so to load when you first start it up.
this is fixed now (by wikipedia).
edit: but the redirection to wikipedia's mobile site (en.m.wikipedial) is buggy now ...
edit2: cleared my cache (for the first time) and the problem is gone.

Ya that's happened to me once or twice, try force close browser or even rebooting the phone and it should be back to normal. I don't know why that happens.
im not the developer of it, but try the maxthon browser... its not the "simpleest" or the tinyiest, but the main reason for me to use it, that its the ONLY browser that works with the java based groupwise web overlay.
all other browsers slides all graphics to a non visible area or something... kinda weird.
YOUR problem should be gone with that browser too ... dont ask me why

You realize that this is a closed beta for VIPs and they do that so they get a closed loop of feedback? Not so a million people on the internets can download it and forget it's a beta and fuss about it.
Go to vip.swiftkey.com and sign up, I think they're pretty open about membership.
EDIT: Looks like I was wrong, all (most?) of Swiftkey's betas have always been closed. Looks like this one is not.

I've tried the phone version of swift flow but it never worked, probably because of the rom I'm using my phone, it kept force closing, although I did notice the phone beta had a normal landscape mode and the tablet had a split thumb keyboard.
So far this beta let's me flow (swipe ) in portrait and use a split keyboard in landscape like thumb keyboard.
Although I don't see why we have to download the language, and anyway.... I kept getting download failed if I followed the swift key install instructions, so I changed it from the Android settings, and (#2+3) and then went to download the language #1.
Nice feature is the voice memo, it gives a choice as what it thinks was said and you choose from the list.
I like android gestures and I like a split keyboard in landscape, this at the moment is looking good.
Wow!!!!!

P.S. I still can not download the dictionary

I have flow enabled but it doesn't work on either beta for me. It works fine on my GS3 though.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't help at all.

It does, just not in the address bar which makes sense, go to Googles main page and try in the search bar, same with Firefox. (Androids gestures can to this)
Although the dictionary seems a bit off, just trying to get the word "off" using flow is a nightmare.
Androids gestures are better, but landscape in flow has split keys.
I can't get the "flow" typing to work in any app or browser at all.
this is a awesome keyboard but i cannot get the flow featuer to work on my nexus 10 or nexus 7. It only works on my GS3. Help anyone?
EDIT: It randomly started working on my nexus 7 but not my nexus 10
Works straight out of the box for me. The enable box was already checked and it works nicely. The history trace line is neat too.
I'm not convinced I like swiping on the 7 though. Perhaps my hands are too small but so far I prefer thumb keyboard.

I have a stylus and using the flow feature with a stylus is awesome, it's a much better experience than just using my finger.

Noticed that you can't use the flow in landscape, only in portrait, at least from what I tested. And that kinda kills it for me since Skype forces landscape atm.
Hey guys and gals,
I love Dolphin Browser and have been using it since I entered the world of Android with an S3 and then a Note 2. I switched to a Note 3 a few weeks ago and I've been having really strange issues with Dolphin. It's getting to the point where it's unusable. I've wiped cached, uninstalled, reinstalled, updated to latest Flash apk, so I've done all the troubleshooting I can think of. I'm hoping someone can help or at least tell me I'm not the only one experiencing this.
When I open Dolphin, I can click through one or two links. I don't know exactly what causes this, but soon after, I press a link and the browser freezes. I can open new tabs and zoom in an out of the tabs that are currently open, but the status bar does nothing, I cannot interact with any links/images/anything on the loaded pages, and nothing else loads. I have to close the app and wait at least 15 min, or wipe the cache and open the app again. Same thing happens every time.
It's extremely weird and very annoying. I love the app but will have to switch if I cannot fix this issue.
Has anyone else been experiencing this? Do you know how to fix it?

I switch between Chrome and Stock depending on what i'm doing. Both have benefits
I use naked browser pro, aosp browser and chrome. Those are my favorites in that order.

I use Dolphin and I'm not seeing exactly what you are but it the browser is getting progressively annoying. What I'm seeing are pages taking forever to load. I click a link, the screen goes white...wait...wait....wait....get tired of waiting so I push 'stop' and then the page displays immediately. It's like it wants to pre-load the entire page before it shows anything at all, then it all comes up at once. Dolphin on my N4 recently developed this same behavior. If they don't get their stuff together I'll be ditching it.
My favorite browser by far and wide is Firefox. I used to use Dolphin before FF Mobile was stable enough for full time use but these days FF wipes the floor with Dolphin in terms of features. Firefox has an extensive addon collection for adblock, useragent switching, full screen, etc. plus it supports Flash Player and html5 videos perfectly. If you're not happy with stock and Chrome definitely try Firefox!
