Note 10.1 2014 Odin ROM change question - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

For my version P601 (android 4.3) there is no ota update. I see that there are 4.4.2 roms on Samfirmware. If I update my tablet over Odin, do Knox registry some change regarding void if guaranty? I don't need root or recovery change, only stock fw update.
Thanks.

[Q] Flashing official firmware trip knox ?

I have my P601
If I flash another country (P601) official firmware via PC ODIN
will it trip KNOX to 1 ?
It shouldn't, no. However if the 10.1 is anything like the Note 3 then you have to be careful about bootloaders...
If you are trying to downgrade the software to a lower firmware version to root with URDLV then you can in fact trigger Knox as the bootloaders don't match and you can't go to an older firmware...

[Q] Updating Official 4.1.2 To Official 4.4.2 Without Installing Knox Bootloader

Hi guys can someone help to update my GT-N7100 which running on official 4.1.2 to official 4.4.2 N7100XXUFND3 Without Installing Knox By Trying Like This Method I Saw On Youtube : How to remove KNOX Bootloader on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini firmware (with Linux)?
-On This Official Rom "N7100XXUFND3" (The Question Is Can I Delete The "sboot.bin" And/or "boot.img" From This Rom And It Will Not Update My Bootloader To Knox When I Flash It With Odin 3.07 Or It Will Hard Brick My Device).
Thanks In Advance,Any Help Or Info Is Really appreciated .
(And Excuse Me If There Is Any Mistakes In My Language).
Wifi with bootloader older than 4.3 not working at 4.3 or 4.4. OK now for this method first you need root and second you have to flash mj5 bootloader, it is writing Knox bit etc but is cosmetic and is possible to downgrade at everything you want. After you have to use mobile Odin to flash 4.4.2 official from your device (mobile Odin flashes everything except bootloader) and you will be ready but not rooted. If you need root you have to flash philz recovery 6.25... + and flash from recovery supersu update 1.94. After root also you can remove with a root file manager completely Knox apps from your device. If you want to restore warranty flash again original recovery with mobile Odin (if you don't want to extract the firmware put all firmware at mobile Odin at the place which is writing recovery) and after run triangle away 3.26. Links you can find at forum. If you own mobile Odin pro is good to know that ever root for the moment not working at 4.4.2 and you have to do the same procedure.

[Q] Jelly Bean to KitKat

I am currently running rooted stock jelly bean and want to try the Bobcat ROM. Do I have to unroot, update to kitkat, root, and install the ROM? Or can I just install the ROM?

You need to download and odin flash the official stock NB4 Kitkat 4.4.2 firmware/rom
before doing anything else. You can find the official 4.4.2 Kitkat stock NB4 rom
at http://SamMobile.com then root the phone and flash twrp/cwm custom recovery.
Then flash the Bobcat rom in twrp/cwm recovery then be sure to flash the
Wifi/Nfc/Bluetooth fix cwm/twrp flashable zip file after flashing Bobcat rom.
You can download the fix file here: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/...en900T/Needed_Files_BT_WIFI_NFC_Flashable.zip
The fix file is required if your phone is the Tmobile model
SM-N900T or Canadian model SM-N900W8
After flashing the fix file you will need to root
Just remember one thing, once you upgrade
to any 4.4.2 Kitkat NB4 stock and custom rom
you will not be able to downgrade to any 4.3
Jellybean roms including your 4.3 nandroid backup.
Good luck!
Depends what kind of root you have, and the Knox status. If it's 0x1 the method above is correct.
You merely have to flash twrp after you do an official update from sammobile.com with the 4.4.2 binaries through Odin as well, and you know the rest.
If your Knox is 0x0, there is a workaround to get 4.4.2 custom roms with root while keep the 4.3 boot loader. This is the only method known to have root on 4.4.2 every other method trips the counter. Do some more reading and research.

Upgrade from MK5 to NF1 firmware

Currently I have installed the firmware for i317M Telcel (MK5) and want to know if it's worth upgrading to the new firmare KitKat (NF1). I have already activated Knox counter, but I read that if I update to the new firmware I can not use custom ROMs or stock that are not based on that firmware.
So worth the full firmware update or do it for custom ROMs and manually update the modem?

Note 3 Rooting

I have a Note 3 and im trying to figure out the process of rooting without tripping the Knox Counter. I rooted my Note 2, years ago and has been awhile. Also like to know is there a "triangle away" method to reset the counter.
Model: SM-900T
Android: 5.0
Baseband: N900TUVUFOL1
Kernel: 3.4.0-6005498
Knox: 2.3
Thanks in advance
As far as I know, there is no way to root without tripping Knox.
If the phone is not under warranty, tripping knox should not be an issue. I have tripped Knox on a few phones and have never had an issue.
I asked the same question a while back, and only just 2 days ago rooted my SM-N900T knox 0x0. Asked: Here.
To achieve root on the note 3 without tripping knox you must downgrade from the Lollipop firmware OB6, or FOL1 to NE6 using PC Odin.
Once downgraded to NE6 download and use TowelRoot. This will unlock root without tripping knox, NE6 was the last vulnerable firmware for towelroot on the t-mobile note 3.
Make sure you are flashing official t-mobile firmwares only for kitkat/lollipop when using PC odin.
Flashing any custom recovery, kernal, rom, bootloader, or no longer supported android version (4.3 jellybean) will trip knox.
You can use sammobile to get official firmwares, or if you're risky there are likely download mirrors scattered through the internet.
Once you're rooted on kitkat NE6, to get back to Lollipop and keep root you'll need Mobile Odin Pro to flash FOL1 with the latest Super SU Zip v2.46. (instructions first page of this thread: Here.)
Rooting seems to require some gonads and research first.
When using PC Odin I left options default (Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time).
When using Mobile Odin Pro (or maybe flashfire) make sure to uncheck EverRoot!
Flashfire is the newer free mobile odin pro I think. You might be able to use it in place of Mobile Odin Pro and instead of the supersu zip in addition to flashing FOL1 it comes with an option to inject SuperSU.
I recommend sticking with mobile odin pro for confirmed results. MOP does not support Lollipop.
Note that once you're rooted and upgrade to Lollipop your android system status will change from normal to custom. This prevents future OTA updates.
Root survives factory reset, but flashing official firmware with pc odin will make your phone genuine again as long as you didn't trip knox.
Downgrading to kitkat will very likely require a factory restore. Possibly also when upgrading back to Lollipop.
Note that the XPosed framework on lollipop and samsung touchwiz stock roms does not seem supported.
It seems some people have flashed a Deodexed rom and unofficial xposed to have it working. I made a single attempt and was unable to have it working.
I assume you could stay on kitkat and manage to get xposed working easy.
If you decide to use xposed, do not try to flash the framework without mobile odin pro, or flashfire.
Using a custom recovery, or flashing anything custom with PC Odin will trip knox.
Look over the information around to get a comfortable understanding and good luck!
Proceed only with the understanding that you could always on accident trip knox, or brick your phone.
I believe there is no known way to reset knox flag to 0 on the SM-N900T.
For future readers using a newer firmware than FOL1 it may no longer be possible to pc odin downgrade to kitkat without tripping knox.
So there is no way of downgrading without tripping knox
You can downgrade to kitkat NE6 using PC odin from t-mobile lollipop firmware OB6/OL1. (OL1 being the latest lollipop firmware, OB6 a version older). Once on kitkat NE6 firmware u can use towelroot to gain root and you will not trip knox. Unless you manage to check an option somewhere during this process that would cause you to trip knox. .
As stated, I achieved downgrading/rooting without tripping knox just a couple days ago from the current latest t-mobile galaxy note 3 (SM-N900T) firmware FOL1.
I then upgraded back from KitKat NE6 to Lollipop FOL1 using mobile odin pro.
You can probably downgrade to any 4.4 kitkat firmware, NOT 4.3 jellybean, just fine without tripping knox if you have a kitkat, or lollipop firmware up to FOL1.
I'll try it later, I also want to know if custom roms are possible
From what I've read you can install a custom rom as long as it has a stock kernel, otherwise you trip knox. You would need to flash with flashfire, or mobile odin pro though...
I've only used the stock firmware on my note 3 so don't completely know about using a custom rom.
I don't think a custom ROM can be flash via Odin. A custom ROM requires a custom recovery and a custom recovery will trip Knox on a stock KK or LP AFAIK.
Ohh ok. This is all sorta new to me as well. I had just assumed mobile odin pro could because FlashFire is its "successor".
