[Q] Does CM11 play nice with Moto 360? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I've had the itch to switch my Note 3 over to CM11 for a while, but I've read that some of the milestone builds had connection issues with Android Wear devices. I definitely want to keep my Moto 360 connected, but I really want to make the switch to CM11, as well. Does anyone know if the latest milestone build of CM11 (M11, I believe) has fixed the connection issues that the earlier builds experienced? I'd also be open to using another custom rom like omni or AOKP if they work well with Android Wear.

Best option? TWRP backup, and try it. Or do some more research on your own.
I've seen some mentions of android wear devices in the Dev threads of aosp Roms for our device, you could start there.

I ran cm11 for two weeks with my 360 and had no issues. FYI, there is still no NFC for the n900t on cm11.

NFC not working doesn't really bother me. Regardless, I tried AOKP and I couldn't get my watch connected regardless of what I tried. I didn't have the nerve to flash over to CM11 since I was at work and had already wasted 45 minutes doing a nandroid, flashing AOKP, deciding to restore the nandroid (which caused a bunch of problems), then having to wipe everything and do a fresh flash of NF9. Maybe I'll try again, or maybe I'll just get a Nexus 6 once they're finally available.

Major Issue

I keep on getting Error 7 when I flash new Cyanogenmod, Paranoid Android, and Liquid Smooth roms. I really want to have one of these as a backup to flash at anytime. I prefer the Serenity 1.2 rom, but that's another backup to flash too. My S3 thinks it is an AT&T S3 now all of a sudden too.

[Q] 4.4.2 ROM Galaxy S3 (d2spr)

This isn't my first time messing with ROMs and ROOT stuff. On my HTC EVO 4G I messed with everything.
Anyway, my question. Does anyone have a good 4.4.2 ROM that is fairly stable? I tried CM11 but the camera kept crashing and I use my camera daily. I also tried Gummy but it would hang on the first time boot activation attempt. I tried skipping the activation and my 3G worked for a little while then quit working completely. If there are any ideas how to get those two ROMs to work I'm all ears.
I am coming from this 4.3 ROM
Thanks,

I decided to just flash CM 10.2. So far its working good and everything I use daily is working as it should. Thanks though for you're links and suggestion.

i tried that rom too, i had the same issues with that camera lol but not everyone had that issue...all good, whatever works best for you! I did just update that thread though, added a camera apk file I ripped out of hellfires cm based 4.4.2 kitkat that works really well on my cm11 setup :good:

Need help, all custom ROMs reboot themselfs

I'm sorry if this is something stupid i did wrong. I just got myself the Nexus 7 (2013) and i put cm.11 on it almost as soon as i got it, but i found there was something wrong when i tried to change to any different ROM. If i use any other ROM than cm.11 (I've tried Omnirom, Parandroid, and Dirty Unicorns.) The ROM completely reboots the system any time i try to use an app. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if there are any fixes for the issue.
I use the latest TWRP custom recovery.
There is already a thread about random reboots. Many people have this issue. It seems to be prevalent to the 16gb version of this tablet, while the 32gb doesn't suffer the same fate.

Are you using the correct kernel after changing from CM? Kernels for CM based roms and kernels for AOSP based roms don't play nicely with the other rom type for the most part.

[Q] CM11 ROM question

I have a TMobile Note 3 with 4.3 rooted using RDLV with KNOX 0x0. I am tired of the stock ROM and I want to switch to CM11. Here are my questions:
1) What's the difference between hlte and htletmo versions?
2) Can I use the htle version since it is being updated more often?
2) I came to Note 3 from an S3. It looks like there were more CM stable versions for S3 and Note 3 only ever has had night-lies..why is that?
3) With reference to the question above, How will that affect development of future versions of CM?
4) Will T Mobile's wifi calling work with CM11?
5) If not, which ROM would it work with and is it safe to use that ROM?
6) Which is the most maintained/updated/used ROM for Note 3 apart from CM11?
Thanks
PS: I have gone through the forums to the best of my abilities to find answers. Please forgive me if I missed one and don't forget to point me to the thread with the answer

I've been pouring through various forums concerning the hlte and hltexx, etc stuff. and have found no definitive answers either..
I'm new to the note as well coming from a string of other devices, honestly this stuff is kind of a headache.
I still haven't found anything very useful.. but what i've gathered is that hltexx seems to be the most common thing across ROMs that should work on our tmo variant..
but if you read this: http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/unified-builds you'll see that we will have to flash hlte versions, at least for CM.
Seeing as you want to flash CM, you'll probably be okay flashing the hlte version.
I have no idea if that's a CM specific thing or if it's being adopted across the board by various devs..
it seems that no matter what you do, it might require editing out the device check line from the updater-script,
just like from some ROMs for the S3 (haven't used that phone in a long time, though, so don't think that's a current issue, anymore.)
aside from that, I can't answer any of your other questions, as I haven't flashed any custom ROMs for this device, yet.
but, if this phone is like any other tmo phone, you'll lose wi-fi calling if you switch to any ROM that is NOT based on the stock ROM that was shipped with the device.
i.e. no AOSP or CM based ROM will have wi-fi calling. there are always alternatives to wi-fi calling though.
Thanks for the answer.

1) HLTETMO are the old non-unified builds. HLTE builds are "unified," and will work across networks, as far as I understand it. What this does is get more developers on the project for everybody since these devices--aside from very minor differences (I'd imagine the RIL, but I could be wrong) between Note3 devices.
2) Yes. Use the HLTE version. I'm pretty sure HLTETMO is dead...and that's a good thing. Things were a little buggier at first for the unified builds, but, they have gotten much better much faster and are currently better than the last TMO builds.
2) See above
3) See above...I can only speculate but I imagine that will concentrate the developer pool that works on devices. Instead of 4 (or more) disparate HLTE (or whatever device) teams of devs they will now all work together. That can only help things along. Again, only speculation. Time will tell.
4) I, personally, don't care about that feature but I do recall seeing some HOWTOs on WiFi calling on CM. But I highly doubt that will ever become a part of the build. That's not a concern of CM. They have enough things to worry about.
5) I'm an AOSP only kinda guy so I don't actually know, but, I'd imagine any TW based ROM will work fine with WiFi calling.
6) See #5. I wish I could help you out on this one, but, I can't. I'm an AOSP only kinda guy. The first thing I did when I got my $700+ phone home was invalidate the warranty. Knox? Pffft, whatever. Right now I can assure you that CM11 is in a highly developed form. It is daily driver status, IMHO. All the major stuff works and works well...and performance is top notch...especially with the ART (Android Run Time....screw Dalvik). Battery life isn't as good as TW roms, but, it isn't far off. The only thing missing is S-Pen features, but, there is another thread around here that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to recreate the utility of the stock S-Pen features.

[Q] Paranoid Android 4.5 beta 3 unfixable lingering calling bug

Hello everyone,
I'm posting on here because I can't find any solution to my dilemma which I am sure that other people in the AOSPA legacy community have also experienced. I have been using Paranoid Android on my T989 since the 4.4.3 update and I have regularly updated my roms since then. Somehow ever since I updated my phone to 4.5 beta 3, something prevents me from being able to hear or be heard during regular phone calls around an hour after I restart my phone.
I have tried everything to try to make my phone back to normal, I have updated my versions of AOSPA, I have downgraded to stable versions, I have gone to a debloated stock rom (which worked perfectly fine but who likes touchwiz android 4.1.2?) and back to AOSPA, I tried the latest Carbon nightly rom and the problem persisted, I have wiped my internal memory, cache, davlik, etc. multiple times. I am at a total loss as to what I should do to fix this issue. I'm currently running it on 4.6 beta 1 and I still have the issue.
I really love my GS2 and I don't want to part with it or have it running stock. Please help me.
I really appreciate it,
Chris
I've had the same issue , I was running the latest liquid smooth rom . I just flashed back to stock using Odin and all is fine on the stock rom . I just rooted again and am hesitant to install another kitkat rom for fear of this calling issue ........ Anyone else with this problem ?

I am also getting this problem on Slim 7.8....must be an audio-caf issue....Can someone go back to an old KK rom (one from earlier months) and see if they experience the same issue? Preferably cyanogenmod
I flashed to stock rom via oden and spent the weekend with the phone and all was good , I flashed to the latest cm-11 with no addons , stock cm-11 kernal and after an hour or so I lost call audio again . We must have done something to the phone in a previous rom cause not many people are having this issue . Now I have flashed about 75 different roms with no issue , I hope someone finds the problem cause I'm not to keen on the stock rom !
I've seen posted that snapchat was the cause of the no call audio problem we are having , I flashed the latest liquid smooth rom last night , download all my apps that I usually do except snapchat and I've had no issues with the calling bug . All is working great .
