I usually use Spigen screen protectors but they don't offer a matte one for the Nexus 5 but I have had a couple good experiences with Tech Amor's screen protectors!
Go in a bathroom, take off your clothes, turn on the shower and let the room get steamy. Then apply the screen protector. The steam prevents dust from falling freely in the room.

Highly recommended GLASS-M. 0.15mm glass. Very good for use it with any case. http://glass4m.com/collections/frontpage/products/glass-m-google-nexus

Funny
Use a little rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean your screen. then use some sort of sticker to clean the screen again. all while in the bathroom with the shower running. I use disposable gloves while handling the protector and phone also.

I've scoured the Googles and the interwebs and can't seem to find any other screen protectors that are oil resistant and are clear (not anti-glare) other than the SGP. The SGPs are cut in a strange way and they seem to small. Does anyone know of any that exist or have tried any?
theyre only small because the Nexus has a curved screen, which makes full screen dry applications impossible.

Yup and if you want full coverage, you have to go for wet protectors like xo skin.

I have a Clarivue clear screen protector. It's dry application and it covers the entire screen. I have had no problem with it peeling or coming off on the sides.
I have the martin fields dry application protector that covers the entire screen and haven't had a problem with lifting or peeling either. It's not oleophobic but I've read that a tiny amount of car wax will solve that.

I got a decent application my first attempt. Got a bit of dust under the screen(Hardly noticeable), but no bubbles except for around the edges. Its probably where my fingers started to get oily. I was in the bathroom for 30 minutes screwing with the protector and the anti dust stickers. I started to sweat it took so long. I still have 2 more protectors and 3 more stickers.:good:

Well I did say nearly perfect:silly:
I think those "bubbles" occur because even after you wash your hands, your skin continues to make oil. So if it takes your 20 minutes to fit the screen, your fingers get oily. I think after a hand washing you get about 5-7 minutes of handling time before you start to sweet. That sweat and oil on your fingers ruins the adhesive and makes it not stick. My "bubbles' are all at the contact points that I handled the screen protector. I think next time I might buy some medical gloves:good:
The only time I have gotten a "perfect perfect" install is when it goes on flawlessly without the need to peel and reinstall. My metric for perfect now is no bubbles in the viewing area.

It's pretty easy to get a perfect installation (no air, no bubbles)
Look at application videos on YouTube. I usually take take effort to remove dead skin & dandruff. Then install in a steamy bathroom to make sure that there is no dust in the air.

Mix a small amount of dish soap and water together in a cup or something and put a few drops on the screen. Not enough to damage it but enough to cover most of the screen. Then put the screen protector on and squeeze the soapy water out. As you push it out dry the edges with a paper towel or similar.
This will allow you to line it up by sliding it and it is much easier to push water out than air bubbles.
edit: Sounds like dipping the screen protector in the water works well too. Also note that soapy water is used to install window tint and car vinyl decals. So its a proven trick.

Dude I bought two packages and went through all 6 with my ocd. Besides little specs of dust it's also hard to put on perfectly lining up with the speaker and stuff. I got it close and it would probably be perfect to many but still pisses me off.
Anyway post your thoughts about this new one when you can.
you can use a spray with any of the rubbery ones, the hard plastic/matte ones do not use liquid afaik

Does this screen have am orange peel look to it or rubbery feel?
Also does it come with a solution to spray? If not what did you use?
I am the worlds worst at putting on screen protectors. The best thing I found for putting them on is turning on your shower full blast hot and waiting till the room gets really steamy. That's how I put on my spigen (dry install) and it turned out perfect. I've also used xo skins (wet install) on my old gnex and had good luck with them.

Minus the Spigen bubble issue, I've applied all my glass protectors with left over solution from Zagg. After a day or so the liquid goes away. It doesn't hurt it IMHO. I'm pretty OCD about my screen protectors.
If you decide to go with a different type I'd suggest one of the plasticy ones just because you can remove dust easily using a piece of scotch tape. iSmooth gives you scotch tape like dust removers. Most of the people in my office come to me to apply screen protectors...lol
When I say plasticy ones I'm referring to anything that is rigid. The problem with Skinomi and Zagg like protectors is the scotch tape method doesn't work and they are much harder to get aligned. the upside to them is that they don't scratch like the rigid ones.
I think I am the only one that uses the wet method to install dry screen protectors. I used the wet method to install the spigen dry protectors, since they are the "static cling" type and not adhesive as with many other dry protectors. I normally install them in a steamed bathroom, and if i get any lint stuck on the screen i take it off them phone and rinse it under water then try again.
I didn't order the spigen glass protector due to people having bubble problems, but when the new revised version is out i'll buy it and also try installing it wet.

The Skinomi protector came with spray, microfiber cloth, and a rubber wedge for squeegeeing out the excess spray solution and air bubbles
It does have an orange peel effect, but I can really only tell when the screen is off and/or outside light hits the screen at a perfect angle. My personal opinion is that its effect on screen quality is negligible
It does have a more rubbery feel than a bare screen, however that's because it should "self-heal" from light scratches/abrasions
Should you go the spray route for the first time, definitely look up some how-to-apply videos. I want to add that the protector on my g-nex lasted the entire lifetime of the phone (~2 yrs) without a problem, which hasn't been my experience with most traditional protectors. That's the main reason I put it on my N5
xtremeguards.com
Since there don't seem to be any tempered glass screen protectors that cover the entire screen and stick properly to the curved edges, I'm looking for the next best option.
What is the best protective film for the V20?
So far, I have come across these two on eBay:
1. Nillkin HD Clear Crystal Transparent Thin Phone Screen Protector Film For LG V20
2. 2x Mikvon Armor Screen Protector for LG V20 Retail Package with accessories
Anyone have experience with either of these protectors? Are they worth buying?
I tried to find Skinomi on eBay but shipping to my country is not available.
Note. International shipping is important.

Yes I did but the shipping costs are way too high, at U$9.95 + U$4.00 it would cost more to ship to my country than the cost of the screen protector itself.
I got this one and it rocks! It goes all the way to sides and it doesn't attract fingerprints, without compromising the screen quality!

The Armorsuit screen protectors have always treated me well. They seem to be clearer/have less of a "fuzz effect" than the others I've tried. They're wet application if that matters to you. I personally think it makes the process easier.

Mikvon goes from edge to edge. However it does not stick to the top and bottom curve of the phone. You will have a gap and it slowly collect dust. Also if you have a case, it might push on to the SP on the side.

Is this wet application? How much room is on the side? I use spigen case and looking for screen protector that doesn't interfere with it.
If the screen protector goes from edge to edge it has tendency to be peeled off by case.
Also does it cover entire screen from top to botton included lg logo?
Not a wet application. Just a dry one - you'll get quite a bit of bubbles but they clear up within a day. It's got about 1mm at the sides, cutting it a little close - slight off and you'll have that halo issue which I solved by snipping a bit off whichever corner.

So far, I haven't seen such a problem. No dust or lint collecting on the sides. but like I mentioned, slight alignment issues and you'll probably have to trim it off using a cuticle scissors or something - that's what I did. :good::good:

The gold is just the top film used during application. It's really just clear. Not too sure how a TPU SP is like but I reckon yes, it's just a normal clear version.
One word of advice, don't try to remove the cut-outs when you're removing film 1, leave it there, it's easier to remove that way - I learnt that the hard way.
Here's it now, the bubbles are pretty much gone and I haven't done anything specific to it. Perhaps playing some swiping games pushes the bubbles away

Bump. Anyone find anything yet? Tried the highly recommended skinomi and that thing is crap. If you want to feel like you're touching an inner tube for a bike (minus the dirt) enjoy. But I can't stand that rubber feel. Ordered a different PET type from Amazon, hasn't come yet but hoping I'll have luck. Wet installations suck. And absolutely hate tempered glass. So, anyone have any PET type protectors to recommend that cover the whole screen?

Nope, dry install. If centered correctly upon installation, it is complete full coverage. My tip is to get a deep steam in your bathroom, and make sure your hands are clean. I have no lifting from my case and I got a case that the phone slides into. It has been perfect since install. Only 1 comes in package, but lifetime warranty. I highly recommend it.
hi guys,
in your opinion which one is the best, wet screen protector or tempered glass 3D, and why ?
thank you.
I use wet apply because I couldn't find an affordable tempered glass protector that covers the entire screen, adheres properly to the edges, doesn't have a dot-matrix, and doesn't have a rainbow effect.
This wet apply is "G-Color" from Amazon and it's perfect for me.

Been using Whitestone Glass for a few months and I'm completely happy with the quality. Still think it's overpriced, though.
The touch sensitivity is good, screen is clear and the tools they send make the procedure quite straightforward.

Yes, i have the so called "orange peel" effect. Only recognizable visually, can't notice any protuberances or irregularities when touching the screen.
Touch feel is not like touching glass, but I rarely drop my phone so I only want scratch protection.

I have been using Whitestone, tried it twice now, once on this phone and once on another and after a few months, it always seems that one of the corners messes up. Either something gets under it or something happens but I just had to take it off. I went back to a wet one and it looks so much better and you also don't have that extra thickness from the glass screen. I know it's minimal but when it's on, you can tell.
