I mean the phone boots to LG splash screen and it stops. No download mode but there is hardware key settings. I tried adb but no luck. It says device is unauthorized. The usb is LG adb interface but mtp is not working(obviously). Can someone help me because I don't want to RMA'd my phone again -.-

What did you exactly do to get in this position?
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk

I installed PAC ROM for D851(Yes I'm using the correct model) and cleared system and cache. Something went wrong and now I cant boot up my phone.
I still have my nandroid backup on my sd but I dont know how am I going to restore into this phone.

I must been ridiculously stupid that I missed something. So I have root, no download mode, no factory reset, a nandroid backup, an usb that says its in ADB Interface, adb not working(Phone unrecognized or phone offline), and a damn stuck LG Splash Screen. My day is going to be in a nutshell........

I know I sound annoying right now but I tried everything but it seems not to be working. Can someone help me with adb because the phone is recognized but not authorized. I dont even know how to even flash or restore now through anything. Please I need your help. Its booting to LG Splash Screen only but no download mode. Calling all senpais and developers to help me! Please reply ASAP D:

Okay update your Android sdk you can Google that and find that and use the New adb in that package. That'll make your device come online. Then go to the Pac man forum and flash the boot.img through adb. Then it should turn on.

you have one opportunity only in recovery mode:
Remove your battery and just enter recovery mode with the power and volume buttons, then go recover your system with a another worked flash rom or your personal nand backup.

Tried that and it didn't work. I think LG G2 had the same problem and someone did it with universal adb driver and some adb. Going to try that when I get home. In the mean time, can someone confirm this?
Edit: Oh you mean to only take the battery out without putting it back in. Going to try that when I get home but I think it only shows the no battery inserted screen

It just sounds like he didn't flash the boot.img no biggie. If you have an outdated adb from the Android Sdk it'll say device online. So it is an easy fix. I've had this happen before when I had an HTC one x.

I'm sorry, but if you bricked your phone and are not familiar with Odin you really need to do some reading/research before playing with root or system files. There's plenty of information all around this site applicable to your device. And do everything manually, you'll learn much quicker.

Pull the battery from your phone and let it sit for a couple hours. Then put it back in and press volume down + home + power to get into download mode. From there you can use Odin to install the stock firmware. If after that you can't get into download mode, you have a hard brick. If you take it in make sure you pull you external SD before hand. Found out the hard way that tmo is not a fan of rooting.

I don't mean to be an ass but you are "the problem". If you were willing to play with fire then you should get burned. I don't think warranty should cover your misfortunes. Why should X company pay for your gambling? You know I'm right about this...
If you (not specifically) really have a brick then you should just pay for a jtag servicer to get it back in line. On your own dime.

Broken powerbutton, need to unroot and re-lock

Hey all,
My power button stopped working and I, thinking it was a software issue, pulled the battery and found out I could not restart. I need to get into recovery or at least turn on the phone to unroot and relock it before heading to verizon.
So far I have had no luck turning the phone back on. I'm sure there is a way to do this... any help is greatly appreciated.
You can use a jig to go into the download mode
And flash a rom

The issue is that the phone is in no way broken other than the power button. I'll have to take it in and hope for the best if I can't figure something out, but I'd really like the peace of mind knowing that all of my files and data aren't stuck on it (I'd also like to get my lastest nandroid or do another one).
I saw a timing trick on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1731128 that is supposed to allow the device to boot, but I haven't gotten it to work yet.
Google wugfresh nexus root toolkit
It has a simple one click fix for flashing stock and unrooting when the device can't boot up
Or you can use something like glados cp to relock the boot loader as your rooted then delete the superuser apk in system app

I've gotten the phone into download mode using a jig, but it still doesn't seem to be recognized by the computer. Is this an issue of re-installing the Samsung drivers/adb or a limitation of download mode? Do I need to use odin?

Are you sure you have ADB configured properly for the device to be picked up via command line? USB debugging would have to of been turned on for ADB commands..
I'm almost positive USB debugging is on, especially since I think it's a default option in kang. I can get into download mode but not anything else. At this point I think I'm going to have to use ODIN and lose my data. Stupid power button...
Try removing the battery then tapping the metal battery pins against the phone pins repeatedly.
A friend of mine used to have to do this to get his nexus one to boot.. it can be a bit temperamental but does work.

Make sure you have the correct drivers installed. From download mode you will have to use Odin.
Note: since the device won't actually boot into Android, you don't have to worry about USB Debugging.
Note x2: the only driver that would let my device be recognized was the PDA Net driver, you may want to give it a try.

Well guys, thanks for all the suggestions. In the end I could get nothing to work other than Download mode with a jig and Odin to restore to stock. I lost everything on the phone, including my nandroid backups (should have copied them over more recently ...), but was able to re-lock the bootloader with nexus root toolkit after using Odin to flash the stock rom. ]
Moral of the story, if you lose your power button, you are screwed.

Mine's doing it too man. Installed the app. Phone is rooted but stock recovery. Let it do its unlock thing and said yes to disable LGE security. Then tried to reboot using the volume and home keys to get to recovery and it gave a "Secure booting failed. Cause: Device Unlocked so boot success!!" message. Then LG logo again then AT&T animation and that's as far as it gets. No recovery menu, no normal boot. Just AT&T.
You get yours figured out yet? We gonna have to LGNPST back to stock?

Are you sure you were putting it into download mode? You take out the battery. Then put battery back in the phone. THen I believe you hold the volume down key and plug the phone into the computer. Then LGNPST should recognize the phone after you change the COM port to I believe 41 or 42
Edit: You hold BOTH volume keys while plugging the phone into the computer. It needs to be completely off when you do this.
Edit 2: Here's the guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660
Switch it under device manager to COM port 41. Now flash tools should recognize it.
I'm honestly bummed that I'm now going to have to re-setup everything again. I just had to flash my phone 2 weeks ago to get rid of 2nd Init recovery to install the value pack. Now I get to do it again, then run the update, then re-root, and put my 200+ apps back on, lol. FML. I guess this just isn't the phone the tinker with. Never had any of these issues on my S1, S2, S3, HTC One, One X, Note, etc. Oh well.

Turn on you phone while holding both volumn + power buttons. If that doesn't open the download menu, you need to take out the battery; connect usb cord to your device, while holding all the buttons (volumes and power) plug the other end USB cord to your Pc, and put the battery back in, then let go of the buttons. Keep try both of those methods, and you should be able to get the download menu to flash the firmware. Otherwise you can't do anything.

Have you tried all the methods I mentioned in earlier post to turn on the download mode? Try them first, and if those methods don't work, then you can plug your phone to a PC and look under the device manager what your phone appears as. If it's recognize as a lg device, then you should keep trying those methods I've mentioned until you get the download mode. However, if your phone is not recognize at all, or it's been seen as something that has word Qualcomm qdhs something in it, then phone is hard bricked. If that is the case, then I can only suggest you try the following link, get the jtag service, else get yourself another phone. Because hard brick, if you have never heard the word before, it means just how it sounds, you got a hard brick on your hand.

Complete bricked phone

Can anybody please help me. Mine is d 855 , was running fulmics 6. Today i thought of fashing resurrection , so i wiped all memory including system then i flashed recovery . then tried to reboot , but the phone got hardbricked. Its not going to recovery or download mode. Neither it is turning on. Only thing is whenni connect it to charger without a batter it displays an image of a phone with a triangular.. <br />
When i connect it to laptop it is showing in the port section as LGE androidnet usb serial port. Not lg g3. So i cannot do anything qith it tried flashing with lg up and lg flashtool. But since it doesn't go to download mod nothing works.
Someone lease help me

Yea.. That guide will get you there.. Took me that guide, and a few others, a butt load 9f data.. a new battery and 3months to get mine fully functioning..
Good luck to OP... Its gonna be a learning experience buddy.. All i can say is.. Read the forums and Google ya ass off. And somewhere you will see them taking apart the phone and shorting it out in order to get to the DL mode... Dont be scared.. Follow the instructions.. Do your research.. Dont rush it.. And you will have it up and running in no time..

Why would he need to Google anything while he has support from XDA forums members?
The only thing that he needs to do,is follow the guide that i gave him before..By following it,it will solve his problem.
google.. because sometimes... ya wanna make very sure...
Now my phone is not at all showing up in any system. Tried with 3 systems. All with USB 2.0. Earlier it was showing androidnet port 3.. Something like that. But now it is not at all recognised .:crying: I think now I completely bricked it. Anyway planning to go to customer care. But I don't think it wouldbe of any help

If you take it to "costumer care" the only thing that they will do is change the motherboard. Or they won't do anything.
