i m nt able to do as said as i m unable to find the same line...i m posting the ss of my xml file..
Yes the the sound will be more loud but definitely NOT more clear. As you increase the volume the distortion increase also. Problem is at quality of the speaker itself and maybe at the final stage of audio amplifier.

can any one provide DSP manager for stock rom???
Good .. it Works.
Thanks OP, here is results for me on Sound Meter. changes for 83 -> 96 in xml.
To be precise .. you only have to modify line no. 28 & 722 on Mokee ( though its appearing 4 times )
Code:
[email protected]:/system/etc # grep -inr "RX4 Digital Volume" *.xml
mixer_paths.xml:28: <ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="83" />
mixer_paths.xml:722: <ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="83" />
mixer_paths.xml:863: <ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="82" />
mixer_paths.xml:894: <ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="90" />
On Stock Mokee
After modding mixer_paths.xml to 96
may not look in decibel (few points ) but mind it that 10decibel hike is Double amplification.
how about?
Code:
<path name="voice-speaker">
<path name="speaker" />
<ctl name="RX4 Digital Volume" value="82" />
</path>
what does this do when changing the value?

I assume you mean " You are unable to find mixer_paths.xml"
- First tell us your ROM ( are you on MIUI, CM11 or Mokee for example )
- Then if you have rooted your phone or not
- If you have root explorer app or not.
I didn't find such file like that..

Hi,
Maybe you noticed that the sound volume on Xperia M isn't too satisfactory. Maybe, like me, you tried to raise the volume with AlsaMixer, but the issue is that the settings are temporary and you have to set the volumes everytime you want to listen some music...
So there's how you raise the volume on this phone. I tested only on the dual-SIM version, please confirm if this is working on single-SIM version, too.
1. Make sure your phone is rooted and you have a capable root file explorer (I used FX File explorer with the root plugin).
2. Navigate to /etc/snd_soc_msm and make sure that the /system partition is mounted as r/w.
3. Open snd_soc_msm_Sitar in a text editor (FX File Manager has one embeded)
4. Search for "Headphones" (including quotes). You should find something like in this image:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5. Edit the 'HPHL Volume' and 'HPHR Volume' values, from the "EnableSequence" section. For a 100% volume you shoud have something like
Code:
'HPHL Volume':1:100
'HPHR Volume':1:100
6. Save the file and reboot.
Warning: at 100% the sound is very loud and I guess you need a good pair of headphones to avoid distorsions. Play whit those values to get an optimal volume for your preferences.
This tutorial is provided as it is, I don't assume any responsability if you brick your phone during this process.
So is this only for headphones volume or does it also improve volume of loudspeaker?
The "Headphones" section changes - obviously - only the volume in headphones. For changing the volume of loudspeaker I guess that you have to change the values on "Speaker", but on my phone those are already set to 100% (but, as I said, I'm not sure that "Speaker" is the right device for this).
The volume for this phone is already one of the best. and headphones too r loud. Not the best but definitely loud. Still good knowledge

Got any ide if you can change the bass curve on the sound?

You could install Viper4Android FX which comes with a system-wide equalizer. This way you can change the sound parameters even if your favourite music player doesn't come with an equalizer.
The in call volume is too loud on the minimum level :s

3. Do not enable Music Equalizer (try changing in Viper4Android - Select Preset)
if you want to revert to Stock Settings: Refer to page 12 - #118
Hit Thanks if these changes bring a better Audio in your G2

The mod you posted works with a rooted phone. I have used your mod in the past and noticed a significant improvement in sound. Later I have been using non-rooted phone and was unable to get the Viper4droid function.
The choice I have made is to use Jetaudio with AM3D activated... It is not the best but provides better base and tones. The good thing is you can modulate both jet audio settings and AM3D and this helped in improving the output too...

How do you revert back after the first sound mod? How do you revert LPA back after disabling? Have you noticed any difference in battery life? LPA is supposed to really increase battery life, so I'm reluctant to disable or change anything without the option to revert back, I know you can take a nandroid but that's time consuming, are there easier ways? Thanks!
Keep in mind the step 1 zip you are using is only for cloudy ROM.
While it may work with other firmware it is actually overwriting the intended settings provided by the firmware. For example CyanogenMod and omni have wildly different values in mixer_paths.xml than the one you provided.
If you want a zip that will do pretty much the same thing as step 1 see my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701745
Seems that there is a little bit background noise after ViPER Clarity is enabled and set to 10.0dB ?
It's quite serious actually.
BTW, what is the purpose of changing the values of mixer_paths.xml? ( just curious to know @@ )

The values changed in the mixer_paths.xml mod I posted are specifically to boost the volume output of the headphones and prevent a volume level change when switching between music and phone call etc.
There are other things that can be done using mixer_paths.xml like the bass reducer for the speaker which solves some distortion issues. You can also adjust the speaker volume, the call volume, and many other things.
I'm not 100% sure the of what changes the cloudy zip from the op makes. It's a premade firmware specific file, and probably shouldn't be flashed on a firmware that isn't cloudy. But I can tell you that the mod I posted actually gives you louder sound output then the cloudy one, and it's universal to all KitKat firmware.

Couldn't tell you. I'm not using viper, and I'm on CyanogenMod.
I recommend you try to clean flash your firmware (which will undo the mixer mod) and then try the mixer mod from my thread without viper and see how it sounds. If you need the viper mod after that you can add it, but at least you won't be using the wrong mixer file (my mod just changes YOUR mixer file rather than replacing it)

Noozxoid EIZO-rewire is much better than Viper. IMHO
Why is it that when I extracted the mixer_paths.xml file from the zip and replaced it with my original mixer_paths.xml i got bootloop?

This modification comprises of the GlobalAction.java and framework-res and lil trick, I modified the AOSP GlobalAction.java and make it in stock (I gurantee no problem at all.) So the data network list adapter wasnt added back but I am doing everything I could just to bring it back again and again. Since I am annoyed too that there is no data network overthere. Also I tried to port the smali to stock but I am having a problem with Verification Error(I think the API is the cause, the invoke gA, g0, p0 thingy. LOL.)
This also work with other device since its AOSP made. I dont knew where to put the thread around the XDA , I only knew this Galaxy Y Forum cause it rocks and hell awesome.
Enough said, Ill be dividing this guide unto parts. The android.policy.jar and the framework-res.apk
Requirements:
1. ApkTool
2. PC
3. Your very own android.policy.jar
4. Your framework-res.apk
5. Working brain with some time to think since Ill be making your head dizzy.
6. A Galaxy Y

3. Now delete all the GlobalActions.smali in com/android/internal/policy/impl also with the dollar sign, delete them all. No remnants will survive.
4. Lets go back to the zip that you had downloaded, check the com/android/internal/policy/impl folder, you will see a GlobalAction.smali with other co-smali. Copy all of them and paste it to your decompiled android.policy.jar.
Chapter 3. Substitution of IDs (NO ID NO ENTRY)
1. Go to your decompiled new framework-res.apk/res/values/public.xml
2. Take note of the following ids that had been added at chapter 1. Maybe you write them, memorize or what so ever. Mainly they are the
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202aa" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel2" id="0x010202ab" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel3" id="0x010202ac" />
<public type="drawable" name="ic_lock_reboot" id="0x010803ed" />
<public type="drawable" name="ic_lock_screenshot" id="0x010803ef" />
<public type="layout" name="global_actions_jbsoundpanel" id="0x01090092" />
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
(Our ids may vary depending on the number that had been registered, but here is mine as an example)
3. Go to your android.policy.jar(the one with a new GlobalAction man ) Open the GlobalActions.smali
4. Find the "0x10803ef" without quotation. and replace it with corresponding id of your "ic_lock_reboot"
Mine was 0x010803ed, so I changed 0x10803ef to 0x010803ed
5. Same with screenshot button, find "0x10803f0" and replace it with the id of "ic_lock_screenshot"
6. Save your GlobalActions.smali
Chapter 4. Making the ultimate weapon of the story. (LAZZEERRRR ZWORD!)
1. Go to GlobalActions$JBSoundPanel.smali in your android.policy.jar and open it.
2. Find "0x1090093" and replace it with the id of your "global_actions_jbsoundpanel" layout.
3. Now this will be the hardest, really hard. ...
4. Find " .array-data 0x4" , below it you will see a three (musketteers/weirdos/hex) and end with ".end array-data" right?
Additional Info: They are the ids soundpanel1, soundpanel2, soundpanel3. The order were ,soundpanel1 at the top id array, at the middle id array was the soundpanel2 and the bottom id array was soundpanel3.
Example(The given):
0xabt 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t #soundpanel1
0xact 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t #soundpanel2
0xadt 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t #soundpanel3
When they are converted, they where be
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202ab" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202ac" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202ad" />
Take a look at "0xabt 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t", So the logic in this will be,
1st 5 digit is the 2digit to the last of the ids
2nd 4digit is the 2 digit before the last 2 ids
3rd 4digit is the 2 digit before the before of the last 2 digit
4th 4digit is the 4 digit at the beginning of the public id.
As my case I have an id of
0x10202aa so it will be 0xaat 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t

Power Widget
POTech Works
NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE! NOTE!
UPDATES will be transfered HERE. Update is so easy now SWEAR
Hello XDA, how are everyone? Since I had my vacant time, I brought something, not so unique but I guess it worth to try. As the title implies, yeah its a Power Widget. Remember the CyanogenMod power widget, lidroid quickpanel, and spacecaker xperia toggle and everything that is similar to this, and yeah Im so old and outdated now but I should give it too. This was forked and derived from CyanogenMod 7.2 power widget.
This requires some patience to do, not like how SpaceCaker did. But if you insist to make it to a Super EZ guide, then I can make it(in humbly speaking)
Whats hot:
All lidroid features
22 Power Widgets all in all
Snappy and accurate PowerWidget
Consistent Wifi and Bluetooth name
Widget Threshold
Profile Button
Integrated in your SystemUI
Smart Settings
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Whats not:
The Data icon isnt accurate much (Like lidroid does but working fine at dis/enabling)
Not Grid-like power widget, sarrey.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Note:
Let me know if there is a bug you encounter

Code:
<com.pineappleowl.Powerwidget.PowerWidget android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" />
10. Save and exit
11. Lastly, recompile again your SystemUI.
12. Of course, it wont work if it doesnt have Settings. Download the apk at the third post named " PWidget Settings Beta1.1.apk"

I used BitmapDrawable sir, I didnt used sharedpreference just bitmap.
The con is, you need to have a same sharedUID with the apks. and disable the signature too.
Im finding a way how to deal without disabling signature, I guess I ended up using sharepreference hehehe

I had the same problem this morning with wifi and not worked aut. switch to mobile data when phone was without WiFi signal. This issues i had after dirty flash of las update. My issues with WiFi and data are safe after clean instal with completly full wipe and factory reset and flash new agni kernel.
Thats worked for me, maybe for You too.
I have only one big problem with battery drain. From 100% to 0 is 3 - 5 hours I have this problem from Alfa 4, that should be HW (battery is older)

While i have no technical reason for it to work that way, but certainly it did.

I receive the same bootanimation.zip.
It means, "Wipe" does extremely not correctly.

Just flashed the ROM, I am waiting for all the apps to download and then gonna use it for at least day or two to see if I can use it as a daily driver... anyways I have few questions. I just downloaded L camera, installed it and it says that my device is not supported, so I was wondering if this ROM actually has the new camera API, and if so is there a way to use Camera L (edit build.prop?) or is there any other camera app taking advantage of the new API.
Every time i change my ringtone it goes back to default after reboot , any ideas??
