Compatible pen for Tab S 8.4 - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

what is the compatible pen for tab s? I tested the note s pen and its not working. I want to know if there is a same pen like S PEN that can work with my Tab S cause I dont want to use stylus. Its hard to write.

S-pen works for inductive screen only, which the tab s doesn't have. However it has very accurate capacitive digitizer. You can use any fine tip capacitive pen. For me it works better than the s-pen of the note.

I'm picking one of these up tomorrow...

Does work, will post some examples after a bit of practice.
My handwriting resembles most Doctors illegible scrawl so I'm not sure if the quality is a function of my handwriting or the inaccuracy of the pen yet.
But it definitely works.

[Q]Galaxy S 2 Stylus

what is the best stylus that is available for accurate writing and sketching?
-Is the Samsung Note stylus works with the galaxy S2?
Thank you.
The Note's pen will not work as it is not as stylus, it's a digitizer pen that uses a special system in the screen.
To be honest, and I have more experience with capacitive styli than probably 99.9% of people on here, the S2 is too small to really give you good accuracy with any stylus that is designed for normal capacitive screens. A stylus is even pretty useless for notes and sketching on my 7-inch Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, and even on my iPad I rely heavily on apps that get around the inherent inaccuracy of capacitive styli with apps that have great zoom or magnification options. Navigating menus etc as an extension of your finger is one thing, but sketching and note taking is something completely different.
If you do decide to get one, stay far far away from those generic brands you find on eBay etc, and far away even from styli from Belkin, Griffin etc that you normally find in electronics stores. The more expensive styli ($20-30 range US) are in a whole other class when it comes to both accuracy and durability. I would suggest a stylus that doesn't look huge next to the S2, which eliminates some of the bigger ones out there that are big to emulate permanent markers. Both the Architect Stylus and Wacom Stylus are great and small. I have both, and they're a bit more sanely sized next to the S2 than e.g. the Cosmonaut, AluPen, Maglus etc. You might however want to look at the Jot stylus first. For accuracy on a small screen, it's probably your best bet, though the disc type tip is not to everyone's taste
Thank you very much you I think i will go with the JOT PRO.
you guys really want to see this.
i know the screen of galaxy is too small when comparing to tab,but that guy is really amazing [video is a part of avdt of stylus]
Yep, it is of course possible to do on such a small screen, but you end up zooming and panning a lot. The Galaxy Note is a whole other beast with that pen it comes with, will be interesting to see what pops up on YouTube in terms of drawings made on it
question about the stylus used in the above video

That's a Just Mobile AluPen. Won't work with drawing tablets, completely different technology
Had DAGi Stylus P101 model lying around and tried it since it's winter... have to say it works just fine swiping, scrolling and everything else on my SGS2.

Why don't you try it and see if it works... just go to nearby store and have a blast And where would you get a Note stylus anyways...

Not that they would work, but they are sold separately. Replacements for Notes, obviously
I ordered a cheap $1 Stylus off ebay some time ago, still waiting for it to arrive. While it may not be as accurate as the higher class ones, I don't really need it that bad to begin with (I've come to accept that taking notes on my SGS2 isn't a viable option).

Is there a compatible S-Pen for the G-Tab 10.1?

I'm wondering if there is a fully compatible S-Pen for our P7500? If there is; could you recommend one, and share your experience with it?
Thanks in advance!
S-pen no
capacitive stylus yes
I have a styluys and it works but the tablet also detects your wrist on the screen and it doesn't work too well
There's something with Galaxy Note's screen also so you can't make use of the S Pen and that is why they are pushing Note 10.1 also....
The S-Pen uses a wacom digitizer for higher accuracy and to detect pressure. The hardware to use an s-pen is simply not there. So no there is not a comparable pen though like the others have said you could use a capacitive stylus.
I also searched 4 a while but the missing Hardware is the problem. i bought the normal Samsung stylus. it hasnt the precision of a d-pen but its okay..

Yeah hardware won't allow for that. But I just upped this thread you might find it helpful.

[Q] Wacom Bamboo Feel Stylus - Compatible ?

Hi,
Has anyone used the Wacom Bamboo Feel stylus with the S4 Mini.
Does it work ? If so, how good is it.
I am currently using the basic Bamboo CS-100 stylus with a soft tip and it feels great. Am planning to upgrade to the Feel and want some info on whether it works on the S4 Mini 9192

Doubt it will work. If it works, it would be like any capacitive compatible pen. No pressure senstive. This type of thing requries dedicated digitizer.

I'm positively sure that the pressure sensitivity will not work on the S4 Mini as we lack the Wacom IT technology for that. At least it should work as a normal capacitive pen with a thinner tip (which is what I want)
Anyone else know of a capacitive pen with a thinner tip than the normal pens ?

Nope, as most capacitive pens requries a fairly large minimanl conductive surface. If you ever find one that works, let me know. I'm also quite interest in it.

What Wacom Pens/Styluses (if any) work on the Tab S4?

So I wanted to get another pressure sensitive stylus for my Tab S4 when I read somewhere that (on top of being based on Wacom technology) that some Wacom pens can work on Samsung tablets.
I tried a lot of googling, reading spec sheets, and so on when I ran across this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837743.
I'm not sure how accurate still is and, if it is still accurate, I'd like some clarification on which Wacom pens are being referred to specifically.
Basically, I'd like to know:
---Are there any Wacom pens that work on the Tab S4?
------If yes, what are they?
------If yes, does it provide similar pressure/tilt and navigation functionality as an S Pen? (Or everything an S Pen does outside of the special air wizard)
Thank you for your time

Hey dcoke, I wanted to just thank you for all of your suggestions.
After a lot of research I ended up sticking with a Samsung stylus (for pressure sensitivity & other related reasons) but I appreciated your answer all the same and just wanted thank you .
My CS 3002 Wacoms work like a charm. Precision, Pressure and Tilt are perfect
does the tab s4 have all the features of the note9 digitizer and apps?

I assume so. Outside of the bluetooth multimedia control S-Pen.
As for the other guy, Wacom Digitizers determine tilt and sensitivity support, not the stylus itself. Since I tried the old Samsung stylus that I bought for my Note Pro 12.2 and it had tilt support in it, though it came out well before Samsung started implementing support for it. That's when I learned it was the digitizer under the screen determining those characteristics.
Has anyone tried the Bamboo Tip? I really like the construction on Bamboo pens but am not sure if this works on the S4.

Question Is there any hack to use/bypass REGULAR S-Pens & disable warnings?

So if I hold down buttons (on a forbidden stylus)) I can click and drag in my fold4. It is ABSOLUTELY compatable with older stylus
Its a simple matter of having it allowing the frequency codes of the other stylus. We know it sees them in order to throw up the warnings.
I strongly believe the "will damage your screen" warnings are for gorillas who might use the phone.
I have never warn out a single stylus,
I am a very light pressure drawer and on op of that I have soft nibs & spring nibs from other pens
I want to take the risk and use my standard pens as I have many Wacom devices I use at once and it get annoying swaping pens.
Yes I have the 2-in-1 pro spen. But I dont want the hassle of having to flip the switch 100 times a day.
Same here, hope there is a workaround.
¿Any non samsung spen compatible with our fold 4? I don't want the bt version, just a standar one to have it at home.

Nillkin iSketch Adjustable Capacitive Stylus... Bought one a year or so ago. It works on ALL capacitive touch screens...
Cost around $50Aud but work brilliantly...
Quick search found here - https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4000379135172.html
You should find a little cheaper if you look as this was 1st hit I found....
I have an old Samsung HM5100 stylus and I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to be able to use it with my fold 4. If anyone can figure out how I can I will be forever thankful.
Came from Note 20 Ultra. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to use it on my Fold4.
Let us all not let this thread die, please.
I have a Note 8 AND a Note 10+.
Both their S-Pen's air gestures can be recognized by the sensors on the Fold 4's inner display.
And I'm gonna be using it with a screen protector anyway.
I don't understand WHY anyone hasn't paid attention to this thread yet.
Come on guys, you'll be collecting blessings out of this.
do the old spens of the note, tab, s series work on fold 4? I have both bt and non bt spen.

NO !
SPen Fold edition has an special "retractile nib system" to use with Samsung Folds
Oddly enough, I use the Nilikin Spen on all my devices and it works on the fold 4 even when I turn the SPEN 'off' on the phone, because it is a powered pen (chargeable) .. but- it defeats the purpose. The pen is BIG and has to be carried just as the original SPEN coming from Samsung, and the fold phones do not have WHERE to put them, unless the case has it, and I use the phone naked. Further more- I use a Samsung laptop and it comes with a built in pen that DOES NOT work on the FOLD. Frustration? Hack yeah ! So I have a pen that works on 'all' my devices, but it isn't a reasonable solution. Also - The Nilikin pen has a fairly wide tip compared to the original FOLD SPEN. Not great. Samsung must find a way, with such a bulky phone, to host an SPEN, and better be one compatible to their other devices (laptop and N10/N20 series). Pathetic solution so far for the FOLD 3/4 .
Ok, I won't buy it then!
