Well, the acidic orange of the Ubuntu Forums isn't much better
Though, after the graphical overhaul of Ubuntu I got no Idea if the Forum is still orange

Well, that's true, it's never been pleasant on the eyes to visit.
I actually find these colors calm and soothing, compared to some I've seen out there. Although I prefer the standard vB blue.
Personally I really like these colours...the old yellow theme is horrid. Standard vB blue theme is so old, boring and common. This is afresh clean look in my opinion
why is xda brownish on some of my devices (desktop, sgs2 on sgs2 xda forums) and yellowish on other devices (notebook, sgs2 on the general xda forums)? very strange
edit: never mind, i just found the Quick Style Chooser drop down at the bottom of the page. but still weird why not all devices choose the default style (which i guess is xda2010?)...

Same... It's not to bright yet not to dark where it will make you want to close your windows.
I think the colors are quite neutral and easy on the eyes.
So erm, I know a lot of people are starting to get their phones, and just thought it might be cool to have a thread dedicated to pictures people take, so it is nice and easy to see shots

agreed, camera is the make or break for me! let's see those fantastic photography skills!
saturation
Well I tried to post a picture but since I am a new one I am not allowed to do so yet
Anyways I noticed that the pictures tend to be heavily oversaturated with the stock settings so I have turned the saturation down by 1 point. I think it gives much better look to the pictures you take with your lovely One X.
And about the picture quality... It is there! It is just so easy to screw up the pictures by not focusing properly or shaking... Keep taking pictures of the target you want and eventually it will give you a nice one.
I am not sure if you can use normal photography rules to phone hardware but if the f/ is 2.0, which gives you very shallow depth of field, the focusing is everything. And with the point to autofocus it can be a real pain in the ass. This can also be the reason why other camera phones pictures might look sharper, if they do cant remember , higher F = higher focus overall in picture. f/2.0 allows faster shooting in dark but it is more prone to blur from screwing up your focus.
Anyways, keep focusing your pictures! I think its a great phone with a pretty decent camera if you use it right.
There is already such a thread, many pages long. Have a browse for it

Hello all, I know traditionally i only review samsung devices as a samsung mobiler i've decided to branch out a bit and share the love. So here's my review on the One x. Let me know what you think, i'm always taking your comments on board and trying to make my content better.
Out of interest it was filmed on a canon Eos 1100D rather than my galaxy s2 for a change. Hopefully you can tell the difference
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8JwiCQlxhg&feature=youtu.be
and a video of the two flavours of ICS on the galaxy nexus and the one X
http://youtu.be/V4Gidj5dEic
I also took some photos from different angles of the one x...find them at my blog here:
http://staceysamsungmobiler.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/htc-one-x.html
Here's a quick comparison of the screen on the Galaxy Nexus vs HTC one x. Which do you prefer?

Nice review Stacey!
I thought Mobilers always had access to the Samsung devices prior to general public. I clearly remember Dom and you had the SGS2 long (weeks/days) before the general public. Both of you guys had a popular thread before release of the SGS2 during last April/May.
Hey, PM me a photo of the SGS3 and the specs list...Trust me, I won't tell anyone!
Good reviews there and i love your english. Hope i will talk like that someday.
One thing to the Multitask. The thing you reviewed on the One X as Taskmanager ist the taskmanager. Its just a graphic gimmik to show main threads and easily jump from one to another. Search on the device applist for Taskmanager and then you see your real tasks and up to 9 tasks at once.
I realy love my One X but i think all Sense gimmiks are just made to look good. Usability is just on 2nd rank. For much Sense widgets i use alternatives.
nice review
thank you

Ahhyes ! I found it. Please I'll add a note to the description of the video. Thanks for pointing it out
A good video, just one word of advice:
When you want to show something on the screen, dont move the phone closer to the camera, it makes the image blurry.
Best is to just keep it the way it is, so that the image stays sharp and then once you're editing the video zoom in digitally!
That'll make the screen more readable
Thanka for the feed back, seriously guys this all helps me for when I make my next . My next purchase is a proper tripod for my camera lol
also added a quick comparison of super amoled vs super ips LCD2...see 1st post for url
Hi guys! I have spent many hours trying to find the nicest wallpapers. However, even if a wallpaper looked good, it didnt always necessarily look nice once set as wallpaper on the ONE X. So here i am trying to get as many wallpapers that are pleasing to the eye once set.
Before posting there is just one rule i want to add to this thread.
-the wallpaper you used must have at least been used by you once... only post if you've actually used it before.
The reason being,at least in my experience is just because a wallpaper looks good, doesn't necessarily mean it will look nice once applied.
Here, my ALL-TIME favorite.Coco-beans ..This IMO is beautiful, apply it and check for yourself, the colors are awesome. When i first used it i really had it on for quite some time, but as time goes by you want something new:
The one of the beach is also nice
I can't download the beans or share my screenshot, is that cos I'm still limited being a newbie or doing something wrong?

Not sure to be honest, sounds like a possibility though? But as far as i am aware you don't even have to be registered xda member to download files so i don't get it. . .
try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lefpzf5pxhikc0f/Coco Beans_24 (1).jpg
Gives me the option to save via tapatalk, but nothing is on the sd card and I can't see the pic in that reply either?

I second what One-X-Master has said!

Its already happening in many other phone threads, just give everyone space n chance I insist, it"ll b good for all who will later change to new phones too or for any reason .

Many agree with me too, I got a thanks in few seconds of my post being published, I mean no disrespect as m still using it too. But this thread could be valuable for many too, to express, share and alot as already discussed above. If u like u can opt not to come here, though are always welcome here as u would earn it as the biggest fan, master of one x,,,,, once if u ever leave hox, that'll b respect my friend and ur name if u take time n think the other way around, which is good. I feel genuinely sorry for this guy now. He's made a thread, thinking he was going to help the community.
All he gets in response is being told how useless and stupid he and his thread is.
This is NOT what XDA is about. If you don't like the thread, don't comment. Simple as.

Yes, it's really a bit bad from us. I didn't wrote he is stupid...i only said it is useless or not necessary because there are already some of those threads...i also won't comment anymore because it wont do it better and yes....normally i'm not a person who is saying something like that is useless...etc but the fact is that there are always sooo many threads which are really useless...maybe due to that, that there are some other threads like that or so...
like i said i don't comment here anymore and have a nice day I'm now customizing my vipered hox
The comments at least help the users to think once before creating a thread, whether it would be a useful one or not! No offence intended to op.

I feel sorry for the OP.
you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I Looked for a topic like this when i was trying to decide what to replace my One X With so well done OP for the idea.
As Wilks3y said, the OP doesnt need you to tell him that his Topic is pointless.
If a moderator deems this topic pointless, it will be closed for being pointless
all you guys do by spamming hate to the OP is get threads like this closed because of flaming
so really rather than just looking and thinking "huh, this thread is pointless" and going on your way, you take the time to abuse the OP and possibly get a thread closed because of it.
just because this thread is not useful to you, doesn't mean it won't be useful to somebody else.

I have had the one x since launch day. At the time it was a premium device but as the time passed its flaws became apparent.
Within the first 2 days my gps unit went faulty. Was sat in my front room doing 70mph apparently.
2nd unit has been good.
The main problem with the one x I had was very poor battery life. By the time I was home from work it was almost flat.
Recently a design flaw of the polycarbonate body became apparent.
As the months of been sat in my pocket everyday the device has flexed to the point that the Sim card is no longer correctly sitting against the contacts.
2-3 times a day it will just say sim card removed. And I will not be able to work it again until I have taken oy out and insert 2-3 times.
As the Sim tray requires a small pointy object you can imagine that this can be very troublesome if I'm out of the house.
I decided it was time for change.
After researching I came to a choice of 3.
Galaxy s4 i9500 octa core
HTC one
Nexus 4
The octa core s4 is apparently not coming to the UK so that is out the window.
The HTC one looks like a nice device but as far as custom ROMs go I think the same limitations with no soff will apply to that as what have appeared here on the one x.
Which leaves the nexus 4.
For only £280 for the 16gb model it is a steal.
I went with it and I'm glad I did.
After arriving I instantly unlocked and installed paranoid android because of the amazing feature called pie which means I can get rid of the horrible on screen buttons and replace it with a very fancy set of pull up buttons.
This was the only issue I had with the nexus4 not having capacitive buttons but I have already adapted to the pie controls.

As far as performance goes, it destroys the onex. With a little kernel tweaking it surpassed the HTC one in benchmarks and only slightly behind the yet released s4 octa.
At present I have been off charge for 15 hours With average usage and still have 40% battery left.
Compared with the one x that would be nearly flat after 8-9 hours of same usage.
All in all while I did enjoy my one x, the nexus 4 is in a whole other league, competing and holding it's own with today's new releases. All that, and for <£300
What more do I need to say.
Though I am sad that my one x crapped out on me. I'm also happy that it did, for making me end up buying a nexus 4
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
