You will need to be able to hardware mod the phone to accept a GSM sim on top of the hardwired chip.
You'll also need balls of steel.

lol.
I have no Idea what "Hardware mod" is? Can you please explain or send me a link where I can get an idea how to do that?
Thanks.

The sprint note has no accessable sim slot. To "possibly" accomplish this one would need to modify the hardware by adding a sim slot and hack the software.
there is a thread about sone folks attempting this...i have not been following it.

in layman's terms, you can't. if you remove the back cover from your device there is no sim card slot on the sprint variant to insert a sim. the only current wait to use our phones abroad is to use the sprint international plan.
Got it
Thank you all for your help. I sold the phone. I had no choice...

You could buy an AT&T Note to use with Straight Talk. I have one for sale on eBay right now (Note 1, not 2) that I bought for that same reason, but don't have coverage where I live to make it happen. http://www.ebay.com/itm/290826024805?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
ebay search
note ii sim or search for this one 271090307387
$6.47 swap that plug and play component into place and BAM sim card slot.
either cut a hole in your middle cover OR buy a int middle cover.
also someone is working on a mod solution to keep the 4g AND add a sim card slot
we off course still need to unlock to work on US carriers but maybe its not locked to begin with since they would not have thought of someone swapping parts like this.

very cool. do you know if you can do a similar trick with the ebay sim card holders for the Galaxy S3 (i.e. L710) ? I'm really hoping to buy a sprint GS3, put it on ting, and be able to occasionally take it internationally.
I was about to buy a motorola photon, but the lack of updates is scaring me.

maybe it's just me, but amazing that so many people still believe that phones are compatible with other carriers............if you have Tmobile, AT&T then you're GSM network, Verizon & Sprint are CDMA..............it just bugs me when people ask to get their Sprint phone activated on another carrier (only exception is Cricket). I had someone a couple of days ago who bought a Tmobile version of the Galaxy S3, and wanted to know how to jailbreak it to use on another carrier.
normally you would be absolutely right. but in this specific case and possible with the S3 as well your incorrect.
the Note II and possibly the S3 have full GSM capabilities. Sprint just "corrupted" them on purpose (and should be illegally as well)
with the gizmo from ebay we get a normal sim card slot. now we just need a good hacker/coder to unlock the intentional "block" put in place by sprint to prevent it from seeing US GSM signals from companies other than sprint.
once someone manages to do that we will literally have a phone that could in theory be used on "ANY" US provider and probably any world provider.

based on a search of this and looking at pictures. why would you lose 4g? the lte chip is built on the processor board.

the statement below is 100% correct. the hardware in this phone is fully capable of GSM service. the removed software controls are the problem.

I don't know. Someone posted that the LTE SIM card (a chip on the board) is part of this board. so removing it would remove LTE (disable it)
but if your going SIM your going GSM so can't use sprint LTE anyway. so its not a "huge" deal.
Magic Sim?
I contacted Magic Sim and they said their Elite Micro Sim would work with Sprint. It did not show on the site so I emailed them and they said it would.

There's a guy out there that says he can put it on straight talk w/o sim. operates on verizon network. 231 something was the name of the outfit. google a bit and I'm sure you will find him. hope I helped
look on ebay at the people that do boost mobile flashes for the note 2. send them a message asking if they do the sprint note 2 to straight talk. most of them I talked to do this for like $50 if you have a new donor. If anyone needs more info pm me and I'll be glad to help

Sorry for my bad english.
Hi I have a question about samsung galaxy note n7105 II.
I received my new smartphone and when I removed the battery flap fell 2 small pins from simcard reader and it has resulted in that it can not read my sim card unless I push Simcard with a finger. I have in the meantime been on eBay to find spare parts. It must be said that my Note II is from Denmark and called N7105 4G LTE. I found that on ebay this sim card reader that fits Samsung Galaxy Note N7100 II
My question is looked at, are there difference between the simcard reader whether it is 3G or LTE 4G? it plays no role?
I Hope there is someone who can give me a little clarity if it will work.
All the best!

Anyone? I have the exact same problem...
I am in a similar situation. I have a LTE N7105 but can only find the an assembly for the N7100. I have ordered the N7100 part and will try fitting it and get back to everybody later today however I would like to know a definitive answer if anyone knows.
I think there shouldn't be an issue.
If you want I can take a pic of my sim card holder for you to compare.
Other than that if it doesn't matter your purse then you may wanna try it.
Going to a service center won't hurt either.

I think for a sim card holder, it should be same as the N7100, give it a try?

Confirmed that the 7100 and 7105 SIM / SD Card module are the same. I had mine replaced in Singapore for S$60

Same, 1 day after buying it! It's with Samsung now, hopefully they fix it as I bought it used.
On my Xperia Z I superglued my nano sim into the adaptor, I will do that next time.
The sim reader from N7100 dont work with N7105 it can not be mounted .... I have pictures but dont know how to post it ..
"The sim reader from N7100 dont work with N7105 it can not be mounted .... I have pictures but don't know how to post it .."
That's strange. I brought my 7105 to a place on Orchard Road in Singapore. The guy had literally a box of the SIM / SD Card reader modules (its a single component that includes both), so clearly its a common problem. He said he could replace the SIM reader alone but did not recommend it. I asked him if the module was the same for 7105 and 7100 and he said they are identical. It took him about 5 minutes to replace it.

OK, that picture seems clear. Totally the opposite of what the technician in Singapore told me, but the picture tells the story. Thanks for clarifying.
Have now tested the N7100 print on a N7105 - phone part works fine but the phone will not reconize the microsd card ...

Currently I have a i9250 and I broken one of the pins off the sim card reader.
I want to replace the motherboard by buying another phone with a cracked screen.
Is it possible that I can buy a Sprint/T-Mobile or i747 versions?
The reason I ask this is because they go on ebay for much less then the i9250s.
Thanks.

I doubt it as those carriers are CDMA, no? Maybe a broken toro would work but even then I'd have my doubts, I'd probably opt to de-solder/re-solder on a new sim card reader. Good luck.

Hi everyone! I have a quick question. In the process of trying to replace the broken screen on my S3, I ended up breaking the LCD/Digitizer -.-
I was on the hunt for a replacement i747 so I could switch out the motherboards, but on Ebay, I saw a listing of a Sprint phone that had the i747 motherboard inside of it. So my question is, could I place my motherboard inside any of the S3 variants and it will work? I know it will work with T-Mobile, but what about Sprint, Verizon, etc? Thanks :3
Nope. It won't fit.
The sprint version lacks a Sim tray so that's One incompatibility
Thanks for the answers! I'm guessing the phone I saw actually just had the Sprint LCD in the i747 housing. Or something like that. Either way, I just decided to buy another cheap i747 and switch out the boards. Thanks again
Looking at buying an N4 used on Amazon. As such it will not have the SIM. Will my S4 SIM work or will I need to get one from Sprint?

I dont think Sprint sells 'burner sims' as easily as Tmobile does. But ive never gone the route youre going.
People have had success with swapping SIMs (on same carriers, of course), so id do a little more research before you buy.

Initially when I got the note 4 in October around the release date, there were issues with the signal quality and I read a few threads that stated if you swap the SIM card it would fix the issue. I had a previous s4 I was using with Sprint and I did swap the SIM card to my new sprint note 4 and it booted and worked OK but I didn't really see any improvement . so I ended up swapping the card back to the original sprint note 4 sim card and had it reactivated. So for me going from Sprint s4 to sprint note 4 I was able to swap the SIM card. your mileage may vary?
My Sprint store gave me one for free. They just asked if I was going to activate my phone on Sprint.
