I have rooted my V500 but now I'm stuck. I would like to install a Custom Recovery and CM11 on it since LG's UI is awfull. How do I unlock the bootloader with loki? Or is there a better way to get CR and CM11 on it? I'm on android 4.4.2 right now, from what I've read this version is kind of a ***** to work with?
Thanks in advance from a noob!
Seconded please
Hi, I am also interested in this. I have rooted my V500 (on 4.4.2 stock), but installing CWM, I got a "wrong loki version" error. Can someone please point us both in the right direction?
Thanks

I'm sure someone has asked this question already, so please forgive me if I'm repeating... I have successfully rooted my G pad 8.3 Verizon LTE version... Is there a way to install a recovery and flash custom roms? I really want to put something like a pure Google experience like lollipop on this tablet... If someone would give me a few links, etc., I would really appreciate it...

We have TWRP for the verizon G Pad, link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2726707 , but we do not have any custom roms for it yet, when I get time I was hoping to try and port a lollipop rom but have been too busy to even start...best thing to do if you want cleaner experience is root, install TWRP so you can make a backup before you start modding, and use titanium backup or something similar (I use both TB and Root Uninstaller) and uninstall or freeze all the verizon bloat they put on it.
Yeah I've removed bloat. Thanks for response. I will look forward to this eventually having custom roms available.
So like an idiot, As soon as I got my Verizon G3 I checked for updates and updated to 4.4.2 KK w/ 3.4.0 Kernel and now it seems as though any developent I try and do gets blocked by the patch work.
So far I've tried to:
Stump root
Purple Drake
Flash CM11 via ROM Installer....None of which had any success. I am however able to run Google Now and Nova Launchers!!! EXCITING RIGHT?!
Can anyone tell me if there has been a way that people have gotten around this now seemingly unrootable / unROMable phone? Also, does anyone know when the official Lollipop 5.0 will be available?
Thanks guys!
So, you want to root it?
Downgrade and root it

I have rooted and flashed the original stock ROM to a 4.1.2 custom ROM few years ago.
Now I am trying to upgrade to the latest 4.4, e.g. the DN4-V2.2 ROM. However, after flashing it in TWRP, I became stuck at the Samsung boot logo and black screen.
My question is, do I need to upgrade to 4.2, 4.3 then I can try 4.4 ROMs? What is the best approach to go about this?
Also, I am seeing certain "Kernels" and "bootloaders" as prerequisites for 4.4. Can someone please let me know what I need to do to my 4.1.2 Note 2 in order to try the 4.4 ROMs? Thanks.

Hit up the folks over in the DN4 thread. .
Flashing that build requires a few tricks that are posted in the OP of the thread.
If you still have issues. ..post in the QA thread for the rom...and they will help you out. .
I don't run DN roms so I'm sorry for not being more help to you. ..g
Current Phone Set Up
CloudyG3 v2.2 Lollipop stock based custom rom (Android 5.0, modem 20k)
Rooted (via LG One Click Root Method)
Custom Recovery - TWRP (v2.8.6.1)
I'm trying to work out the safest/easiest method to upgrade my phone to MM while also having/retaining TWRP and root.
Have read many threads and am frankly a bit confused...
Can someone please enlighten me?
Many thanks :good:
Anyone able to offer some assistance? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks
Download latest CM13 nightly and latest Gapps then just do factory reset in Twrp, flash CM13 then Gapps and you're good to go. Note: Root isn't enabled by default in Cyanogenmod, you have to go to developer settings and enable it there.

If you want official, last one is KitKat - 4.4.2 r2. If you want unofficial, pretty much all development is dead so you'll have to go around development threads and find what you like. Last Android version this device (unofficially) received was 5.1.1.
This device is bit complicated for flashing, because there is no standard bootloader unlock. But, it's all really well described in the forums, just use that search button up there...
