Ok so I have HTC one Verizon with a custom Rom I am using it on AT&T and the phone has the 850MHz band but I can only get edge and not hspa or hspa+ on it I know it has the 850MHz on umts I need help on how it get it to work can I flash a radio or anything

So the users that are going to use this device in the USA on AT&T or T-Mobile, where are you purchasing your device from in the states?
Also does anyone know if I were to use it on AT&T will I have to change the cellular settings or will the device pick up default settings on first boot. I remember there were different APN settings for AT&T and an unlocked device to give it access to faster DL speeds. Does anyone know?

No, it's not compatible with T-Mobile US 4G unless you're lucky enough to live in one of the few places where they're using 1900MHz. It'll work with AT&T data roaming at 4G, and it'll work as 2G on T-Mob's own network.

UMTS 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data HSDPA+ (4G) 21.1 Mbit/s, HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS
UMTS on AT&T works at 850 and 1900 MHz so should be fine, I am not sure about t-mobile. it might work at 1700-2100 so could be kind of a problem...
regarding my personal experience, I have a european desire hd (on at&t), and in the bay area (SF) it gets no more than EDGE connection (I saw 3G icon couple of times ). However Desire HD doesn't work at 850 and 1900 MHz, whereas One X does so... should be fine on at&t.

Yep, as I said, there is no 4G on T-Mobile unless you roam to AT&T, or you're in one of a very small number of places in California where they've started using 1900MHz for T-Mob.

[Q] the htc one x on t-mobile?

I'm sorry that I'm a newbie at this with discussion boards and forums.
I want to know:
1) what if I was to purchase the AT&T version of the htc one x and get it unlocked to use it on tmobile, would it work well like the other smart phones tmobile would have (example: compared to the htc one s)?
2) what about the international unlocked htc one x on tmobile? I know that the international unlocked one x has a very different processor compared to the at&t one. So what would the speeds be like on tmobile with the international unlocked version?
Basically comparing the AT&T htc one x and the international unlocked one x on tmobiles network.
I really want the one x, I know tmobile will release the one s, but that version is a whack to me.
Ok, so there are three basic differences between the One X (international) and One XL (AT&T):
- the processer: quad core Tegra 3 vs. dual core Snapdragon S4 // the Snapdragon is faster, but the Tegra's GPU is faster
- LTE: 3G only vs. 4G //the One XL wins, if T-Mobile offers 4G in the USA, you're better off with a XL
- the AT&T will have branding, if not hardware then software, which means you will have to wait for updates much longer
anyway, both phones will work with T-Mobile, no problems here.
Bottom line:
if you decide to get the XL, try to get a branding free version, e.g. from amazon.

AT&T is getting the One XL. It uses the 700ishMHz band only for LTE. It doesn't support T-Mobile U.S.' AWS (3G/Faux-4G) bands and would only get GPRS/EDGE data speeds.

Let me know ahead of time so I can know which to get. The release dates are out already for the AT&T htc one x. May 6th. Preorders are available April 22nd. If anyone of you are going to test it out or something.

What discrepancy? It says 700mhz AWS but T-Mobile uses 1700 for AWS.
AWS is a combination of the 1700 and 2100 bands. ATT is deploying LTE on both the AWS and 700 MHz bands. The question is if it can pick up UMTS on the AWS bands or not.
For what its worth, the internal ATT "coming soon" data sheets don't list AWS UMTS support.

AWS bands service ranges from 1710 MHz to 2180 MHz. When talking about AWS bands they're talking about 1700/2100 MHz.

HTC US shows 700/AWS... I don't think it means 700 mhz AWS, it could be possible that it means 700/AWS(1700 or 2100). If we base on FCC's definition of AWS, then 700/AWS defintely doesn't mean 700mhz AWS.

[Solved][Q] LT28at Flashed with baseband LT28i now LTE not working

Hi Everyone,
I been searching the forums but unable to find an answer to this question. I have a LT28at (AT&T Xperia ion) and i flashed it with the baseband of LT28i (from .69 package). Now the phone will not pick up t-mobile LTE bands. I was wondering if there is anyway i could manupulate it to pick up LTE whenever it detects it and still have AWS bands for HSPA+? I am in the SF Bay Area where t-mobile has LTE.

Change "WCDMA preferred" to "LTE(preferred/WCDMA/GSM"
If you are not getting LTE
I would check to make sure the APN info is there first. From what I understand this device does not work well on Tmo as it does not support the 1700 band. But if your in a spot that Tmo is using the shared 1900 band it should work. I have never tried so cant be much more help than that.
My apn is correct... It is set to fast.t-mobile.com. So I know it's not the apn settings.
have you tried to flash all the complete firmware?

I am getting LTE now I fixed it in the settings LT28at does support LTE AWS and been using LTE on AWS for T-Mobile.
So my screen with *#*#7378423#*#* -> configuration shows the following:
"Working band/s:"
GSM 850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS_BC1 (2100), UMTS_BC2 (1900), UMTS_BC4 (1700), UMTS_BC5(850), LTE_BC4 (AWS which T-Mobile uses), LTE_BC17 (700 AT&T)
Also Once the Flashed LT28i baseband the default was set to WCDMA preferred that is why I could not get LTE. But I fixed it with *#*#4636#*#* and set it to LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM

That's correct. Then the question is, does flashing the baseband actually change the frequencies used by the phone? I didn't think it did but now it sounds like flashing the international baseband enables the 1700 frequency.

It seems so. The original a authors of the threads are the ones to give credits to. I was simply asking how to enable LTE back after the international baseband flash. Everything works great! 1900 bands picks up really well for 1900 band reframed on T-Mobile. When I get into a zone with AWS1700/2100 it changes over pretty quickly. As for LTE, it picks it up whenever the LTE is available. Currently I am using Open Signal's widget to see what kind of bands it picks up.

I'm considering the Ion for my next phone for T-Mobile. So can you tell me are you happy with the LT28AT on T-Mobile? Are you getting 4G and LTE?

Okay, I checked and the Frequencies are the same but HTC One unlocked says nothing about CDMA. Thanks for the help

VZW uses two different technologies.
the voice is carried on CDMA as is their 3G EVDO data.
LTE is used, but not the same bands as AT&T or T-Mobile.
The only major carriers in the US on GSM are T-Mobile and AT&T (and their mvno's)

Stop nope, just no.
Verizon and Sprint use CDMA as their base on their Network. The only HTC One with CDMA is the Sprint version. But you can't use the Sprint version on Verizon.
That's why when the Sprint version was released developers had to tweak their roms and recoveries since the outside was the same but the insides no.
Yes LTE is gsm based and requires a GSM radio. And yes when the Verizon HTC one is released it can be used on TMo and AT&T. Since it has both CDMA & GSM radios.
But NO NO NO you CAN NOT use a AT&T, T-Mobile, Dev Edition,Sprint, or Iternational HTC One on Verizon.

Thanks for your help! I realized I was misunderstanding the way those specs were written, thinking a single phone carried all those ranges and could work equally across the board.
I'm leaning towards getting an unlocked phone for T-Mobile. Any suggestions on where to get it from? If I get it from T-Mobile then it will likely have bloat on it which I don't care for. I could get it from Google Play or HTC's shopamerica...Is there an "easy" way to determine whether or not a phone will fully function on a particular network? Clearly my line of thinking on just making sure the frequency ranges match up is rather off!
Depends what freq your carrier uses for 3G etc. Only the international and dev edition are bloat free. But your at xda there are threads all over the place to help you debloat.
Again T-Mobile is the only one with 1700 3G band.
The dev doesn't have 1700, but has other extra bands. And the international lacks LTE.
Only Verizon will sell their version of the ONE. All the others are all over the internet.

So if I travel internationally and want to have the use of LTE, it sounds like I would need to get the unlocked "international" One? If the so-called "developer" version of the One doesn't have the 1700 band, will one of the other bands take over/compensate? In other words, will the developer phone still be fully functional? I also assume that by "developer" phone you're referring to both the unlocked 32 and 64Gb phones sold at shopamerica.com?
Lastly, here's what I'm doing: I want to buy a phone that I can use in the US and if I travel to Canada, I want to make sure it is compatible with their networks too so all I would need to do is pick up a new sim card and be off to the races. If I'm understanding everything, then the phone on shopamerica should be sufficient.

Stick with the developer edition since it offers more 3G bands ... LTE outside the US it would depend if whatever carrier you use on that country uses any any of the LTE bands it supports.
A lot of the major carriers around the world use similar 3G bands most will work on this phone. Again it all depends on which carried you use.

Hey guys, I've looked at some threads because I wanted to know how to make my Verizon HTC one work with ATT HSPA+. I've read that its possible, but im not sure how to go about it. I've tried changing APN's witth no luck. Would appreciate some help.

The m7wlv comes SIM unlocked out of the box. It only works on certain frequencies. See if your carrier supports the below frequencies.

Those frequencies are directly from HTC's website in the device's specs. HSPA can only work on 900 or 2100 mhz. ATT uses 850 or 1900. (Source http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=14003)
