I recently unlocked my D850 changed the carrier to Net 10 Tracphone which is still AT&T but the unlimited data plan is limited to 1.5 Gb download for 4g. I was wondering if there was a way to get around this limitation by changing a value in build.prop?
Lol. Your funny. Unlimited data limited to 1.5gb?? Unlimited must mean something else cross the border.
If it just was that easy, we all had unlimited 1.5 GB data .:beer::beer::beer:
Its measured by your carrier on there servers. Nothing to do with you build prop

I believe what he's saying is he gets unlimited data, but the 4G speeds are capped at 1.5GB. After that his data speed will be throttled - probably down to 2G speeds. It's a common practice amongst prepaid carriers in the US.
Wow. Thanks for clearing that up. But still nothing you can do about data throttle @1.5gb
My carrier has unlimited LTE and says they throttle me down to 4g after 15gb, but I never got throttled, even after 25gb.

How do i know which internet plan do i have?? I'm on t-mobile.com and i can't find my plan.. i have a family plan but i can't tell if i have the 2g, the 5gb, or the 10gb plan
under data it says unlimited , high speed data.. so that means it it has no cap??? they will never slow down my internet speed??
No, I have the Android Preferred Data Plan (5GB Soft Cap) and the website shows Unlimited/Unlimited for me as well. What they mean by that is unlimited data (4G+Edge). Call T-Mobile (611 from a T-Mobile phone) and ask them what your cap is.
do you have the app called my account? if not download it from the market, crappy app but lets you know how much data u used and what is your soft cap.
You can also dial #932# (#web#) and it will tell you there as well.

Thanks for pointing that out...that's handy. I was aware of the min and text ones, but hated waiting for the my account app to load to see my data usage. Thanks again!

Just got a call from the roaming department and they said that there is no more unlimited data and issue limited to 5gigs.... What gives???
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
There never was unlimited data when you abuse your roaming rights.
But she clearly stated on network there is a 5gB limit
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
If she said on network she was wrong. I work for Sprint.
Confirming... this is for a phone and NOT a broadband card?
They did change their "unlimited" to 5gb for the data connection cards.
If you're talking about your phone, it sounds like either they didn't explain the call clearly or you misunderstood.
I too got a call about roaming, basically there is no 5gb limit, its 300 megs roaming.
Unlimited while on the Sprint network, 300 mb while roaming.
I'd been roaming using around 2 gigs for a few months and got a warning call.
So... what REALLY happened ;-)
some reps are clueless.......
its unlimited on and 300mb roaming
one even said 5gb roaming lol
Sprint hotspot app is 5gb/300mb cap also

Last month I had over 2gb in roaming and was not charged or did not receive any calls

They recently changed this plan to "unlimited" where as before it was pay per megabyte. After your reach your limit you get throttled to almost a crawl. Figure this was worth a mention for those looking to cut corners. I know I will probably switch temporally to save a few extra bucks. I use a lot of data but I can contain it on wifi, also Pandora still works pretty good on 2g and less hicups that with Virgin Mobiles 3g (true story) I need internet as I need if for text message as I use Google Voice other wise I would probably just do with out.

Just noticed this on the value plan. Have no idea about the classic plan

I thought the GS3 required at least the 2GB plan....
Possibly but I think on the value plan data is optional.

I think you maybe right when I go to make the changes it says something along the lines "sorry we cant complete your request" I think this is absolute crap if this be case
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Just checked out on the individual plan as if I were going to buy online and it let me well sort of obviously I am not going to add an unnecessary phone line. Then again with the value it looked like all was well untill I got the generic message saying they cant help me with my request

Actually i had that plan and after you reach your data of 200 mb,you get charge of .10 cents a mb up to 25.00 dollars and then they throttle you unless they change the plan all together.i tried to get the unlimited nationwide 4g but couldn't since i have a grandfather plan...so i went with the 5gb unlimited with free tethering...

Did you even read the first sentence of the thread?
on verizon ATM and wanting to get back on att - looking to see if the loop hole still working on att since i have unlimited data on verizon atm. i was told i need an iphone 2g and need to activate the via itunes and pick unlimited data /200 txt and then call nd upgrade unlimited data to the 4g unlimited data - can anyone point me in the correct direction or let me know if it STILL works? thanks
From what I have read that no longer works.
I got all the way to finding an old 2g several months ago. Reading at that time the loophole had been closed. If it has reopened I may look into an un activated sim and give it a try.

Try T-Mobile I pay $20 for unlimited data. In 3 days used up a almost 2gb. I rarely worry about switching to Wi-Fi unless i am in a ****y area for reception

When do they begin to throttle your data speeds? AT&T is 5GB (thank god today started a new billing cycle)..
I read on Slashdot that att doesn't track port 53 (dns) traffic.. To cheat you could in theory just get a tiered plan and do all Web traffic through a port 53 proxy....

Hey I was just wondering whats the cap with Unlimited data now. I know it used to be 10GB then dropped to 5GB. But I'm not sure what it is now.
I believe that of you have the truly unlimited data plan for $30 then there is no throttle unless you break the terms of service by using torrents or p2p networks.

Get Metro PCS. I'm currently using it and its great! I have their unlimited LTE data package. No data throttling at all for $60 cash!!! Metro PCS is essentially T-Mobile but with crappy customer service and no wireless hotspot.
No cap, I use about 130gb-150gb per month and have yet to be throttled.
