No SMS App Installed For Google Now - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On my stock Note 2, all of the sudden...out of no where.... google now shows "no sms app installed" when I try to send a text. The Samsung sms app is there and I can send texts manually, but not through google now. It was working a few days ago, not sure what broke. Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem as of about 2 weeks ago. I have hard reset twice and no change. I have run out of ideas, if anyone has solved this I would live to know how.

I have tried everything as welk with no luck. The only thing that worked for me is I flashed google now 3.4.16 and everything runs great.

So it's the google now app problem? Am faced with the same issue, where its says no sms app installed.

Gmail Add Account Force Close

Anyone experience FORCE CLOSE when trying to add a second gmail account?
Also - is there no ACCOUNTS/Sync menu in the settings for Touchwiz?
Recently I started to notice this same issue. Initially when I got the phone and did my setup, I was able to input all three of my gmail accounts without no problems.
I started noticing this force close error after I rooted the phone and did a factory restore. After that gmail never functioned the same. Presently I am using the mail app that came with the phone. I have put the gmail app on hold until a solution is found.
Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.
ya i have mine rooted, and it doesnt work. rooting should make a difference though.
weird.

[Q] Voicemail no longer working

I'm running CM11 with 4.4.2 and everything was working great. Today I tried to launch my sprint vvm app and it crashed. Opened it again, crashed. Rebooted, app crashed. So at this point I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the installation fails.
I've tried every apk I can get my hands on and they all fail the installation.
I'm not sure where to go at this point and I'm hoping someone might have some advice or a fix that can remedy my problem. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
edit: Also, I've tried some of the other free voicemail apps but it appears that my calls are not being forwarded by Sprint. None of those free programs are working for me. =/
have you tried google voice? if you try it, just use it for voice mail and do not associate it with your sprint account.

That's an idea I had not thought of yet. I will give it a try and see if it works. Thanks for the reply.
edit: fixed a stupid question I asked.

Hangouts suddenly not working.

Hey guys, about two weeks ago I was wondering why my mom hadn't called (we use Hangouts) and I thought it was weird. It was only until she called my cell phone that I realized that Hangouts wasn't working at all (even though it was open in the background).
I always used to get the call sound and the notification tray flashed saying that I was getting a video call. Same thing for messages (not SMS), even if I hadn't opened Hangouts all day at all, I would still receive SMS and video call invites. I accidentally Greenified Google Voice (since you can't Greenify Hangouts) and I thought that might be the culprit, so I degreenified it, and restarted my phone. That didn't work. I also Disabled a whole bunch of useless apks (or so I thought) with NoBloat and I'm pretty sure it was around this time that Hangouts stopped working and incidentally also any alarm app that I tried to use (I have to use stock alarm now). I re-enabled all of the disabled apks, and restarted my phone once again. This also did not work.
I have also posted on the official Google Hangouts Help forum about this issue. I have gone back on any changes I made that might have caused this issue. Google Voice is not greenified anymore, and I don't have ANY apks disabled at all. I even turned ChatOn back on thinking that maybe that was why.
Here is a list of things that I have already done that I have found on other forums:
Clear cache/data of Hangouts and Google Voice
Make sure Show Notifications is checked (it is).
I have uninstalled Hangouts updates, and reinstalled them.
I have restarted my phone numerous times.
I've shut off my laptop, tablets, and desktop so it would HAVE to go through my phone. It didn't.
"Whitelisted" Google Voice and Hangouts on any application that could possibly be closing it.
I have a SG S3 SGH-T999 T-Mobile (Unlocked) with baseband version T999UVUENC2. I don't remember how exactly I rooted my phone but I just know it's rooted. I'm on 4.3 and I have been for ages. It kind of feels like, even if I physically open Hangouts it's hard for any application to recognize that's it's running in the background, and in fact, some applications don't recognize it at all even if I just opened Hangouts.
I swear that every single apk I disabled was inconsequential, I disabled them off all those lists floating around for the S3 that say what that specific apk does, and if it's save to remove it. I didn't touch the red "nono" apks at all. The guy from Google just told me that Google Voice has nothing to do with Hangouts, so the fact that I Greenified Google Voice has nothing to do with Hangouts and wouldn't cause problems. I've tried everything the guy has told me to try but nothing has worked so far. Every other app is fine, there are no problems, besides Hangouts and any alarm app I install.
I don't know what's wrong, does anyone have a similar problem?
Thanks.
Try clearing data for all Google apps, especially GMS ones and gmail. Then reboot and set everything back up. If that doesn't help, back up all important data, including your internal SD. Then factory reset.

[Q] Email App shows as ACTIVITY_ENTRY_NAME now do I fix?

Recently the Email application seems to have renamed itself on the App screens to be called ACTIVITY_ENTRY_NAME instead of Email. Everything works but I'm so fussy that this annoys me and I'd like it to say Email like it used to.
Does anyone have the stock email APK so that I can try reinstalling this to see if that fixes the issue. Or can anyone recommend any ways to correct this.
Have done a reset of the device and have also upgraded to 10.5.1 and rerooted again and nothing has fixed it.
The application name changed about the same time as all the issues with Google Play Services stopped working messages occurring.

Can't send/reply to texts

Wondering if anyone else encountered this problem. I am no longer able to reply to text messages via the Zenwatch. Cards are only being presented like regular cards with only the options to open the app on the phone or block it. This is now happening using the native message app and GoSMS. I've tried resetting the watch and everything. Anyone experience this and was able to fix it?

Does Messenger have to be your default app?
I believe so.
