Hi guys,
I have a Nexus 4 for 1 full year now with only 8Gb of storage, wich is too small for me now.
I've had a Note 2 before but he fall and I break the screen... But I loooooved him so much !
I search my next phone right now. I've tested an Xperia Z2 but I was not happy at all with it, bad in call sound, too sharp edges... I'm really not confident with Sony.
So I've in mind to going back on a Note 2, but they are a little bit expensive by these days. Do you think the Note 3 Neo should be fine in my case ? If he could be just like the Note 2 before, I'm sure I could be happy with it for a while.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
Note 3 Neo is even better than Note 2 in terms of processor and design.. it has sufficient inbuilt storage too.. buy it and you won't regret it..

Of course go for Note 3 Neo 4g N-7505 is very good device and better than note 2...and the performance very good and the design very near to Note 3....
But if you have more money go for Note 3
Thanks guys !
I'll maybe go for the Note 3 after reading some reviews.

Except for low developer support note 3 neo is an excellent device at its price point . I have been using it since about a month . Though they are still some niggles like a bit lower than expected battery life and warming up of upper part of the screen

Sup guys.
I'd like to ask owners of SGN-II - do you guys think this mobile is worth buying now, some months before release of SGN-III? It - presumably - will have better hardware and bigger screen, but would it really matter?
I'd also like to ask if somebody uses SGN-II on a regular basis to take notes and stuff - I'm planning it to use as a student (Bc.) instead of "old" paper notebook and wonder if it's screen going to be sufficient for that.
Cheers.
If you wait for the note 3 you might as well wait for the note 4. The s-pen works really well for taking quick notes but the screen may be a bit small for your needs. Have you looked at the note 8.0? The note 8.0 would be a lot better for taking long notes, IMO.

Imo the note2 would be too small for your needs. I have note2 which is an awesome smart phone but I wouldn't use as a educational tool, I also have the note 10.1 which given the extra screen space is a much better option.
I also recently sold the galaxy tab 7.7 which I loved and only sold as I realised my note 2 is JUST large enough to make a small tab unnecessary, so now I use the note 2 while out and about and the 10.1 while at home. Just my opinion.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
As someone who's got all three of the current Galaxy Note range, I'd say the Note 8.0 would be best for your needs. The screen on the Note 10.1 looks like fuzzy garbage and it's a bit too heavy to use comfortably as a paper notebook replacement. The Note 2 is ok for quick notes but not suitable for use of any duration. Note 8.0 is the sweet spot, both portable and practical. Battery life isn't the best but it will get you through a full 8 hour day.

Thank you for your suggestions guys, I'll take a look at Note 8, however I really liked AMOLED screen on SGN-II, looks so... vivid and bright after my Desire S, lol.
Y'all may think I'm crazy, but I went to the AT&T store last night to look at the LG Optimus G Pro and compare the screen with my Note 2. As far as resolution goes, I couldn't tell the difference and my daughter agreed with me. Maybe if you hold the phones 5 inches from your face you would see the big difference that everyone is talking about. The only thing that looked a little better to me were the whites. The speed I've been hearing so much about, well my note 2 was just as fast at scrolling, loading apps and browsing the web. Maybe its the rom and kernel I'm using (Hawkish rom and Perseus kernel). I'm glad I went and looked at the LG because I was jealous of the 1080p screen that I've been hearing so much about, but no more. The Note 2 is a fantastic device with a nice screen and a tone of features. The development is outstanding as well with the Note 2. We have a lot of very talented devs.

Some suggestions were made about getting a note 8 but you could also consider getting a Bluetooth keyboard to type with the gnote2. Take the nerd factor to the next level.

Hi,
Simple answer. Yes.
I am a student but I make my notes old skool with pen and paper. The Note II is fast and smooth enough. After 2 or 3 years I will buy the Note 5 or 6.

Why Switch?...Jedixp14+Saber kernel 30.3...UC 120 - OC 1920...GPU OC 800....Speed, Stability, Awesome Battery life. SgH-i317 is compatible with most Tmo Gn2 and n7105 Roms, Kernels and Mods. The 2 is an awesome device but I myself would wait on the GN3 since its so late in the year. But you wouldn't be disappointed if you got faithful GN2
Get one and trust me you will never look back

well I do like the Note , so the inevitable is to go to the note 2 , once I got that big beautiful screen , theres no going back below 5 inches period !
Right now Im just trying to find the best deal so it might be a few days ,But the Note 2 is coming my way ,now with that said , what is the battery life compared to the Note? Is is a little slimmer as well? Ive never been to an att or tmobile store (recently) So I havent seen one to really tell the differnce , but the Note does have some limitations (todays technolgy being the main one)! I cant afford the Note 3 when it comes out and I dont do contracts anymore , I dont like paying 4000 for a fone!I bought my OG Note for $150 on ebay and its flawless

It is night and day difference with the note 2. This is easily the best phone I've ever owned by far.

I still use Note1 from time to time and flash every single room possible and it's just doesn't come sligthly close to the Note2 speeds.
I really don't believe there will be such a huge gap between Note 2 and Note 3 though as it was with Note 1. But we will see.
And I totally agree, it's the best phone I ever owned. It's slightly slimmer so fits way better in the hand, touchpen works so much better than note1 as well. Battery easily lasts me through the day with plenty of battery still left.
Love it. No complaints at all.
After watching some of the Video on YouTube of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I am Glad I did'nt sell my Note 2 there is not much of the difference compare to software wish and hardware wise little bit here n there and for some reason I like the shape of Note 2 compare to note 3. It would have been nice if they had made shape like Samsung Galaxy 4 but then again these are my personal thought for the Note 2. If anyone don't have any Note phone and coming from Note 1 to Note 3 there will be a huge huge difference and if they are thinking about buying then they should go for it & One thing I am a big fan of Samsung Personally.
Note 2 users dont "need" to upgrade. But new users of the Note series are going to get blown away. Im excited for them.
Even though there isn't a huge single upgrade for one particular spec of the note 3, it has almost every single component being tweaked to perfection. From gorilla glass 3 to a cpu that is much faster and less strain on the battery. Almost every little aspect of the phone is getting an upgrade, which in my opinion makes the phone with getting. Not to mention 1080p, even though the screen is nearly the same size. Also I can't believe no one is talking about how the loudspeaker is on the bottom bezel and not the back of the phone.

Hi all,
I sold my Note 1 last week, since it was dying on me constantly and I needed a new one. Of course I couldn't simply downgrade to a smaller phone, and I've received a good offer for my Upgrade. I was going to get the Note 2 for £23 a month for the next two years.
Now I know the Note 3 has just come out, but at it's current price tag (£42 a month +) I just couldn't afford it.
Would it still be a good choice to upgrade to the Note 2 for the next two years? All I want is a solid productive phone with a great battery life, something my Note 1 didn't have.
Thanks in advance!

go for note2 if your budget does not permit a lot is expected with the official 4.3 update and then kitkat rolling soon next year
Let's see, I always brought my Note II with me at work.
And the working hours are 8:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5:30pm
At the end of my work I still have 70 to 80 battery percent with Mobile Data turned on all day.
So yeah, I would still buy Note II if I had Note I and couldn't afford Note III.
But if you're someone who's itching to try out Note III, sometime along the way you'll be like "I wish I bought Note III"
Anyway, Note II is a good phone, actually almost perfect. You can survive the whole day with this guy.
Aside from battery, it's very responsive and fast.
Plus, it's never bad to upgrade hehe.
Assuming you're not a gadget/phone hungry guy, go for Note II bro.

I agree, the Note 2 is still an excellent phone. I strongly recommend to buy the LTE version (N7105).
On the other hand, if you don't like Samsung's monopolist tendency (like I don't), the LG G2 seems to be a great, affordable option. Could be my next phone (or the Nexus 5 once it's available).
Good luck

Buy a note 2 now. It's as cheap as it will get. Note 3 does not bring much to the table, you still can't see pixels in 720p and you can scale your UI however you like it using a launcher so 1080p on small devices is pretty much useless.
Battery life is ridiculously long comparing it to any other smartphone.
May not be as beautifuly crafted even as a HOX but at least they work.
It's a cheap phone that's very powerful and also does the job of a 7" tablet well. Also there's a neat stylus that does all sorts of cool stuff. Also new update soon including most of note 3's new software.
Get a note 2
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
Go for it, the prices have dropped to reasonable levels too.
You had a Note, so the size will be a non issue.
The only minor regret I have, is that looks and aesthetics matter to me more than I thought it did.
Slap the official protective cover, and I love it again
Thanks for all of your responses guys!
I've decided to take the plunge and have ordered the Note 2
Looks like I'll be rooting it as soon as I get my hands on it
Looks like I've received the 4G Note 2 (GT-N7105)..
Anyone know if there is any disadvantages to this? I don't mind the 4G, but I really do not want battery life to be affected, mainly because I'll be using Wi-Fi and don't have a 4g plan anyway.
Any ideas on whether I should give it back for an N7100?
Thanks!
No way should you give it back. I have the 7105 and don't have a 4g plan either but will maybe get one on my next contract.
Imo the 7105 will be worth more in trade in and your still going to use it non lte so the battery issue is not an issue.
As long as you don't want fm radio keep and enjoy what you got.
Let us know how you get on.

My two cents:
I have an Xperia Z and a Note 2, and recently bought an S4, after mulling a bit over the Note 3. I found that my Note 2 betters the S4, and beats the Xperia too. The Note 3 for me did not offer any thing new that I could find interesting. The Note 2 is still an awesome device, and I won't be letting it go for a while.
The main plus the N3 has over N2 (for me) is a better display. For my everyday use (office stuff, light gaming, music) the N2 is great, the battery rocks, and the 8mp camera is decent enough (and better than the Xperia's in many aspects - not kidding! ). I would recommend this phone any day!

Exactly! S5 downgrade as far as I'm concerned. I have a strange feeling I'm going to be on Note devices for a long while. Already saving money for the N4.
Just get the Note 4 when it comes out. I thought the whole purpose was screen size?
The note series are the true flagship phones of Samsumg, dont think they knew the goldmine they were sitting on when they released it. Its an insult to get rid of a note 3 so quickly for a galaxy S device when we all know the next note is just a 4-5 months away from being revealed with far superior specs. Enjoy your note 3, galaxy s phones are 4 kehds.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda premium
No interest in the S5. The LG G Pro 2 looks pretty sweet, but I'll probably wait for the Note 4. I just hope they don't make it ridiculously big. The HTC One Max and Xperia Z Ultra are too big for my pockets.
If the leaked benchmark scores are correct, the S5 is actually slower then the Note 3. The S5 scored 35k and change where the Note 3 (at least mine on stock) scored 36,922. which isn't anything major. but who wants to buy a new phone thats slower then a phone that was released 4 months ago? I knwo the screen will be higher res, but you wont be able to see the difference anyway.
Plus, no Spen (which is 1 reason I got my Note 3) and a 1/2 inch smaller screen. I highly doubt I'll ever go smaller then the Note 3 at this point going forward. And who's to say it will come with an unlocked bootloader like the Note 3 has.
