My question is how do i install cyanogenmod 11 and also get network service now that i have my imei and base-band back. I'm not familiar with efs backing up or what to do with it to get network service working on a customer rom.

To do that you must be rooted and have a custom recovery.
Download and Install PHILZ recovery latest version.
Make Nandroid backup using recovery. Keep it somewhere safe.
Download doctor Ketan's Multitool zip file and install it via recovery.
Now you will see Aroma window with various options. Chose EFS BACKUP.
Exit Multitool and restart the phone.
Copy EFS backup from internal memory card to Phone (approximately 20mb size)
Now Flash any rom u like.
Press thumps up if you found this suggestion helpful.

I have a problem with my cellphone,
I install cyanogenmod but i am stuck with the boot logo and its not moving from here.
I tried to go to the recovery mod but I cant access it
I did to a backup of my rom but whitout the access to the recovery mod i d'ont know what to do ?
Can you help me ?
Thanks
(sorry for my english)
How are you trying to access CWM ??
pull the battery. ..then after placing it back in. .
Hold volume up / home button / and power button all at the same time. ..
You should boot the recovery. ..
If not. ..your recovery may be gone. ..
If so. ..boot into download mode. ...volume down / home button / and power. ...then odin push the recovery again. ..g
Thanks for your help, I finnaly access the recovery mod.
But I still have a problem. When I am trying a complete reboot from my external card it say: «Error while flashing backup image»
What can I do for that ?
Remove the SD card...
Place it into the PC with a card adapter. Then download a fresh rom and place it on the card..
Then put the card into the phone and flash using recovery. .
You may have a bad copy. .
Odin could also push a factory build via PC as well. ..g
If you can access download mode Flash your rom using odin from link below and do factory reset in recovery.

Some questions here...
I have just rooted my stock DMF2 rom and got efs backup. Then i flashed the latest perseus kernel.
I wanna flash the latest omega rom but i read somewhere that if i flash a non DMF2/ME6 based rom, i will get a imei error.
Is there anyway i can flash omega rom without getting an imei error?
Thanks for helping and sorry for my english.

well try it yourself since you have a backup.
Make sure that also have a backup of your Modem and Build, (found in settings under Baseband (modem) and Build Number).
because your EFS backup would work 100% if both of these were the same when you're restoring.
If things didn't go on well, then you can reflash the ROM.
in case the backup wouldn't work (works once then no signal on next restart), then what you have to do is as follows:
1-Flash the ROM that has the same build number as the one you had when you backed up your EFS
2-Restore your EFS and restart
3-Restart again, if there's no signal, then restore your EFS again and restart once.
4-Downgrade your Baseband to any version (I prefer DME4).
5-Perform an OTA update (OTA works if you had status normal and an IMEI and phone signal, so you need your EFS to be restored and the signal working, for the status normal you need 0 flash counts and Full Wipe of data through VolUp+Home+Power).
6-If you have ROOT, then don't touch Install or Install all! click on later.
7-Get Odin Mobile Pro (you need the Pro Version). and run it.
8-Click on "OTA/ update.zip". point it to "/Cache/Fota(might find random numbers here)/update.zip". In case you can't find the file, just use Root Explorer, and copy the update.zip to anywhere on the SdCard0 or extSdCard, and Point Odin to it.
9-Check the EveRoot Option and Odin Pro.
10-Flash the ROM.
now you'll have the same build number, but your baseband is now updated correctly. Just restore the EFS one more time and restart and it should work.
Note: If you may tell me your current baseband and buildnumber, I could save you time by giving you my files if I have the same as you.

Bump, I'd like to know this also.
My note 2 is less than a month old. i had a bad flashing experience after flashing MIUI Rom for my phone on the note 2 android development thread. This was my first rom flashing on the phone. I luckily backed up my EFS.img before flashing. After flashing the rom i lost my IMEI...i had another issues with the rom hence restored nandroid backup of my phone using CWM. & since then after restoring my EFS.img each time i will get my IMEI back but if i reboot my phone for any reason the IMEI is wiped out. I have tried restoring using the command from the elevated Terminal emulator & using EFS pro tool.
Still the same...each time i have to restart my phone i will lose my IMEI.
is there any way of keeping my EFS partition or IMEI intact after each reboot . I am on stock ROM but i didnt flash it back using ODIN as i mentioned earlier i restored my nandroid backup.
Any help will be greatly appreciated...Please help

it seems that the backup u created u must have left your efs in selecting while backup thus the recovery backup is not giving your imei back rather u are doing it manually so once u get it done , I would suggest to flash fresh using odin

flash the pit partition first using odin and then the stock it should solve the issue permanently if not take it to service center
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31801134&postcount=4
download pit from here and then flash the stock rom
if you dont want to take risk just go stock completely and use triangle away and get your status normal and count zero and give it to ss saying that the imei gets off. let them solve

Hello! I am posting this because i'm new to this rooting/custom roms thing. OK. So i have a Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100. I rooted it using odin, then tried to install new rom. Downloaded CWM, booted into recovery mode and installed new rom. After this, i accidentally pressed 'Reboot' instead of installing gapps & wiping cache and that stuff. Now, my phone starts with the new rom, but i can't get back into recovery mode to start over. When i press vol-, home and power button, after pressing vol+ it goes into download mode (i can't do anything here). Any help will be appreciated!
UPDATE! I tried to flash odin recovery, and now my phone is stuck at the bootscreen. The only thing i can do is get into download mode. PLEASE HELP!
I've managed to get rid of the problem above by installing original firmware from samsung (android 4.3) and worked. The problem is, after that, i installed X-note rom (v2.1) and i think my imei is corrupted now. When i installed x-note, it asked me if i want to make an efs backup, and i accepted. If this is the problem, does anyone know how to restore the backup made? I found it on phone memory (i know it exists) but when i go into recovery mode in cm and i click restore from /sdcard nothing happens (no files to restore). Can someone tell me how could i restore the efs backup?
P.S. I checked phone's IMEI and it starts with 0049.

Alright so what is the back up extension ? Is it efs.IMG? Is it 20 KB ?
Please note that restoring efs backup has nothing to do with CWM recovery, its a program you download on PC that backs up and restores your device.
With regards,

Hi! My efs file is .tar and it is <1kb, somewhere around 20 bytes. When i open it, it doesn't show any items in the archive.
Hi, recently rooted my phone and tryimg to backup everything before i install a rom but when trying to back up the IMEI/NVRAM MTK droid tools gives me the errors
"ERROR : --- TotalBytesPerChunk Not Found. Set default Page/Spare=2048/64 !!! --- Unknown ROM structure, backup NOT possible! "
I've tried searching for solutions which have suggested
* Install Busybox- tried but seen no change.
* Download MTK droid tools from a different source- tried this too
* Slot in an SD card with sufficient space into the phone- i have enough space on my sd
* When prompted for Super User permissions on the phone and PC, select Ok or Grant - done.
I want to backup as much as possible before installing a new rom but not sure how to get by this issue/error. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Any suggestions thanks? Currently I understand the error unknown rom structure occurs because the phone isnt a mtk phone of which it is and ive tried downloading mtk droid tools from a different source with the same errors occuring.
When i rooted my phone I used a method that attempted to install cwm but when I try to boot into it the samsung logo just jumps around the screen. Would this have anything to do with the errors?
Sorry for the amount of questions.

the most important is EFS backup, which can be done with apk from play store. Other things you can backup with titanium backup, then flash custom recovery i.e. TWRP and do full backup in recovery. That's all you need. everything else you can restore with stock rom

Thanks for your reply. I just backed up the EFS using EFS professional using a tutorial I read on here. Also used titanium backup aswell. What method would you recommend flashing TWRP or CWM? Would flashing any of those interfere with the currently attempted installation of CWM that wont boot?

flash TWRP for your model i.e. N7100, N7105, etc. using Odin 3.10.7. Do not repartition and your phone would be ok. There are guides and even movies on youtube how to use Odin
