Doesn't matter what computer I am on, or what browser I use, but for the last few weeks when I read my subscribed threads, it always goes to the last page I visited but always the first post on the page. It never starts off from where I left off.
Is this a bug? Every other forum I visit is working fine. Just wondering.

This happens when I'm reading in the Evo 4G Q&A forum. I'll read a topic/thread, then hit the back button on my browser (Opera 11.01), and a file download window will pop up, reading a different file name every time, but always from view.atdmt.com. I'm able to cancel it each time, but it happens nearly every time I try to "back out" of a thread. If I'm not mistaken (which I very well may be,) atdmt is related to ads? Maybe an ad not loading properly or something?
I've searched the forums, but didn't see anyone else with this problem. Like I said, I can cancel the DL, so I'm not too worried, but I was wondering if anyone has had this happen, and just thought the mods might want to know about it.
(By the by, my machine isn't infected with anything. I've run a full virus scan since it first started happening a couple of weeks back.)
Thanks, all.
A quick Google search shows it's probably malware on your PC. Have you scanned your PC for malware using something like Malwarebytes?
I've run all-out Norton 360 a few times, but I'm downloading & running Malwarebytes right now. I'll report back with results. Thanks for the suggestion.
Well, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found one problem in the registry (which I had it fix). Rebooted, opened the forum back up, and for the first couple of threads, everything was fine, then boom, another file download. Only difference this time is it says it's from ad.doubleclick.net. Again, I can cancel it, so I'm not too worried. Guess it's something I'm going to have to live with.
Thanks again for the advice, anyway.
These domains are safe but shouldn't be trying to download anything.
Does it affect you in another browser?
After futzing with the forum in Firefox, I can't seem to recreate the problem. Must be Opera having the problem with something. I just thought it was kinda weird that it only happens in that particular forum.
Soooo, yeah. I'm too much of an Opera junkie to flip around browsers when I want to read that, so it's something I'm going to have to deal with. Maybe it'll be fixed the next time Opera does a little update (fingers crossed).
I've realized that over the last 3 or 4 days when I look at my recent posts, to see if anything had been replied to, it doesn't have anything within the last few days. It claims to have had the index updated within a 15 minute span, but yet, nothing.
Anyone else having this issue? It's just a bother trying to find my posts without it.
Yea, it's a problem with the search software we use. The server guys are working on getting it resolved
Hello,
Ive noticed for about two days now that sometimes when i go to the HTC One AT&T forum, the thread counts are off. In other words, earlier in the day a sub-forum may have had 30 threads, i look now and its only showing 9. If history repeats itself, it will be back to the full amount later.
I cant figure it out, but its quite a nuisance since im trying to follow quite a few threads.
Has anyone else seen this? Ive tried multiple browsers, cleared cache, tried signed in and out of my account.

Don't know about the problem, but if you want to follow some threads you can simply subscribe to those. May be you can ask bitpushr about the problem.

Better to provide a screenshot of the issue and along with your browser name and version and OS you are using.. to help troubleshoot the problem..
Also, its better to report this here

This started about a week ago(?). It happened once before and then stopped.
I have to turn off JavaScript to browse xda.
Tried chrome, Firefox and opera. All the same across multiple devices running g 4.3 and ⁴.2.2 at work and home.
I'm going to assume I'm the only one.

There's another thread discussing the same issue here...

The site admins are already looking into the issue.
Hi,
for some time now, I can't access https://www.xda-developers.com on two different Windows machines with firefox. Trying to access the site, I will see the black bar at the top for a second or so, then the screen just turns white and firefox keeps loading to death.
Works with chrome on the phone, though. Would anybody know what might be the issue here?
Having the same problem on my PC, using Waterfox. Can load the forums but not the main site.
Updated to the latest version of WaterFox and can view the site again.
Hello
I write to Webmaster XDA and he was experiencing an DDoS attack. Now is resolved.
Best Regards
How come XDA is so slow in general?
Long ping time when clicking on a link on the site or loading a new page? Long loading times etc.
I know Leaseweb is fast because I have dealt with them in the past...but its only XDA that I find very slow to go to.
Sometimes the xda does not load and it could be the ddos as mentioned above.
But it cant have ddos attacks all the time?
The server admins have been doing a lot of work on this lately and the situation should be improving. Thank you for your patience.
Borked again for the last 2 days now.
Posted this in another thread because I didn't know where else to. Getting the same thing, some clicks are taking over 10s to even respond (they were upward of 25s yesterday). It's not a server problem, I'm 3ms to leasweb, even less to their cdn. Anything hitting that is fine.
It's like half the site is loading from India or they are having some serious capacity problems (cache hot requests fair better for example). With threads having hundreds if not thousands of pages, trying to read 8 at a time is atrocious.
Is RSS or something else available?
