Some sounds from my LG g pad - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have one question: is here anybody who have lg g pad and who have the some "problem" like me? When I play some better game or when I star some app which is hard on hardware, and when volume is off i can hear some weird sounds from back of my tablet, its something like form pc, but i have no idea what could be that, because there are no moveable parts like hardisk in pc. Isnt it right? I am just afraid if something isnt wrong with my tablet. Could these sounds be from CPU or cooling or something else

Stock ROM or custom ROM? If you use a custom ROM search for 'sound hiss' here in the gpad forum. Flashing red kernel for example helps...

[Q] backlight notification for SGW W/O flashing

Hi folks
I'm looking for an backlight notification app for our SGW.
There is BLN Control which needs an BLN-kernel/mod but I don't want to flash (right now). There also is NoLED which drains somehow battery because initially it is for amoled devices which do not need backlid screen when displaying icons like LCD does. Is there something like "LG Touch Notifications"? I found this for my wifes optimus black and it is awesome. It gives all I need. You can set the frequency and fade for the touch key LED. Set how long and when to blink (you can define sleeping hours ). It also sets repeating sound and vibration.
Do you know something similar or is it possible to port the LG thing to SGW?
Thanks in advance
holydiver
This is a great thing! Now if some one could actually port it for our device...

BLN
Hi,
I found that it works with some Samsung devices: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823922
The corresponding file is in /system/hw/ on my device (original rom) it's called lights.msm7k.so
I don't know how to programm, but it should be possible to get the code from the Samsung i9000 and port it to our file.
Hi
So it should work. But this ist for original BLN. Maybe someone could integrate it to our SGW w/o kernel flash.
This almost works...

What do you mean by "almost works"?

Well you seem to have to disable native alerts for sms, which is no good really,
@phonesgw
Do you think it works without special kernel? As the link you are referring is talking of BLN-Kernel
@tmcthree
Did this tool work for you? This means you use the flash light for notification? But therefore you have to place the phone upside down on the table to see it flashing.
I've got no idea of programming android. What is the difficulty of controlling the LED of the smartbuttons? Why do I need special kernel?
holydiver
I Am allso searching for a application that lets the Home-Key blink when there is a missed call.. SMS or Email. (My girlfriend has the SGW)
Regarding the LG app.. i used it to... but after 2.3.4 ... the app said it needs Root access to work.

We are still running our LG Optimus Black on 2.2.2. As I read of several disadvantages of updating to 2.3.4 I decided not to do that (until now ;-) ). Are you sure you need root? Why that?
I wrote Martin Börjesson, the developer of LG LED Touch Notification. His app is open source and he is willing to help with porting it to other devices. So what we need is someone who knows what to do.
holydiver
So far no one interested in notification by soft key?
Anyone who can shortly explain what to do and how to learn?

so far now people interest with this ?????
any developer willing to help...............?????

Anyone else hate CM11 on the G Pad?

Rooted and installed CM11 on my G Pad but only kept it for a few minutes do to how bad it looked. I understand that with KK icons got bigger, but CM11 takes it to a whole new level. Icons and keyboard are grossly huge and it looks like poo. Also, i hated the split notification bar. So basically all of the UI elements looked like they're blown up from a phone, but the status bar got the split tablet treatment? Guess I'll stick with stock and G2 xposed until someone can fix how bad these two issues look. Other than that, the rom was fast, but I'd rather not have my tab look like crap than to have speed...

Well, welcome to stock KitKat look? That's just how it looks lol. - Change the density, get a new launcher to fix your icon issue. There's nothing that can't be done, lulz.
CM runs great, theme it to your liking dude. Get Nova Launcher and make the icons smaller. Trebuchet isn't something you HAVE to use. You can do what ever you'd like. Tell you what, I'll go ahead and say the LG stock rom is the one that looks like shiez. By all means tho, stay on it. Doesn't matter to me. Just that I never heard your complaint before. But I suppose it's fair enough. But you can remedy all those "faults" of yours. So this thread just seem.. Ignorant. If you know what I mean.

You know...you're absolutely right. I should have looked around and found that I can change the DPI! Lord knows why it was set to 340 when stock is 273. That helps that, but I don't think the split status bar can be changed to a single one. So there are some things that can't be done...

I'm sure at some point I changed settings /notification drawer /then ticked show in drawer (and I think tick linked layout) and that gave me a single status bar. But it's not working as I remember on the rom I'm on atm. I may have achieved it when I was playing around with the settings on GravityBox (I don't use anymore).
So maybe with a bit of research you could get it working.
All the best rich

I've actually changed my tune on CM11. Not only does it fix the sh*t sound coming out of the speakers on the stock ROM, but the device is now overall snappy and more enjoyable to use. Even though I like the light theme that lg uses, I can't say that CM looks too bad. Oh, and download an app called 'build prop editor' change the 'LCD Density' to 273-300. This makes everything the size it should be. For some reason it's set to 340 right out of the gate and it makes it appear far too large. The only thing that I actually miss about the stock ROM is the notification drawer. I really really really hate the split one for a device that's not all that big. Hell, even my Note 10.1-14 has a single drop down that looks better than this...

Came to the forum to ask exactly about the sound - whether flashing a custom rom like CM would improve it, because honestly, I am greatly dissapointed with how it sounds. I have reasons to believe that it's not only a matter of the speakers but some weird DSP **** LG has put there - some kind of lousy compression... Would you care to elaborate on the sound, in what ways did it improve? Sorry for highjacking this post (oh, by the way, I used to have a - now broken - Nexus 7, the notification drawer works like that even on smaller screens and resolutions like the old Nexus 7 has, but personally I like it!)

Does your tablet have a weird boxy sound to it where speaking voices sound like they're in a tunnel? Cm 11 fixes it. The sound isn't as Loud now at the low and mid range, but still is loud with volume all the way up. But at least it's clear and sounds great.

A little help here for someone who is starting in the modification world :D

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to this modification world, started when I received my Zenfone 2 out of necessity since ZenUI is very poluted and ended up enjoying it
So, right now I'm using SuperZen (super basic) just to get rid of the endless bloatware that comes with the phone... my question is: what is the best overall rom right now for someone who is starting and want something very clean?
Other thing, the double tap feature still working in these others roms or just in stock? Cant live without it, I came from LG G2 and I cant stand at clicking the power buttom anymore... I know that sounds idiotic but is really cool to have this feature...

After bootloop repair I cannot find one app/mod

Hi, I got my LG G4 repaired after bootloop and right now i'm trying to get my phone to look like before, but I'm missing one app/mod. I set up my on-screen keys to look like this: < O (i dont remember third one i think it wasn't [] but as I said, i am not sure, it might have been three lines or something simmilar) which worked as back home more and long press on more (i was able to set custom timing with this app too! like 2s or 3s) showed me current running/last app screen.
I thought it was one of the G4 tweaksbox features but i cannot find it there (reinstalled last lolipop version 1.2)
Can someone help me with my search?
Please trash this topic, I found these settings in themes (I ignored it since i changed my launcher and I thought its related only to the stock launcher)

Samsung Galaxy j2 2015, little problem in stock ROM

Hi friends! This is Abdullah, a visually impaired user of j2-2015 (SMJ200H) with v5.1.1. A little problem is that the call volume on headset/handfree is too slow as compared to other models. I've tried different headsets, but it is the default configguration of j2.
For this issue, i've been looking for a trick to replace my stock ROM with a customized one, like CM, but never find anything related to my phone. Can someone please guide me about the respected ROM, of any android version, for this device? Or any other trick to louder the volume on call while using headset through altering any internal config?
I shall be very thanksfull to you for every button you press for me, Because the brand new j2 is lying as just wastage for this kind of cilly problem.
hi all. i rooted my galaxy j2 j200 H. now google plus and gmail doesnt work
