On my G3 the auto brightness is a little low for me. Any tweaks to adjust this. I am rooted and do use Xposed. I do use the G3 TweaksBox Xposed module but can't find a setting for this.
On the Galaxy S5 the Wanam Xposed module will let the auto brightness be adjusted but it does me no good as I prefer the G3.
Thanks for any help.

If you set auto brightness on, you can still adjust the brightness slider to a brighter setting and the auto brightness will remain but with whatever added brightness you select.
Else you can also use an app like "lux" from the playstore.

Don't know how I missed that but it is what I wanted. Thank you very much.

Hi,
automatic backlight is still too bright for me in almost any environment. I want to control the brightness of the screen by setting other values.
Is there an app or a hack to do this?
Good question. Loved to know too!
Look under widgets and you will find one called
"Brightness"
I'll let you figure the rest out for yourself

Try to using
Brightenes Level App
I recommend "SwitchPro Widget", which is available from the Marketplace. It allows you to toggle the brightnees, even to levels lower than the automatic setting.
Hi, i dont want to change brightness manually, but want to change the default values which are used for automatic brightness. Is this possible?
Does no one knows??
Hmmm would be handy!

Perhaps you could put some tinted glass/plastic over the sensor, so the phone thinks it's darker than it actually is and doesn't make the screen as bright?

good idea, but that's not the resolution, even in night it's very bright and for me even at manual 1% brightness it's a bit to bright for me...
would be awesome to have more possibilities to work with the amoled screen - by the way - for black it needs 0% energy so better to read white letters on black background
edit: me using "Quick Settings" to handle brightness etc.
Hi I am using dimmer lite download frm market place suits my usage

I would like the automatic brightness to be just a bit more brighter when im outside. Would be great to be able to adjust it!!
If there was something like a -2 -1 0 +1 +2 way to adjust it!
Dont want manually keep setting the brightness all the time.
I just tried the app called Dimmer.
It is perfect.
Goes to a very low setting and then switches back to whatever you had before.
I have the same problem with my Desire that the Auto Brightness doesn't go all the way down and the HTC Denmark support basically just said meh. And said they would report it as a wish for future updates.

This app is great! Thank you!
I have my phone on autobacklight, but I find that in dark settings its too bright!!
This app does what I want with a simple click! Shame however that there's no way to reduce the lowest brightness on auto setting built into the OS.
Whenever I use S Note, the brightness always seems to go up and I can't change it, anyone know how to adjust it.?

Same here. Really annoying. For now I'm using an app called screen filter to dim the screen when using s note in the evenings. Sammy should fix this though.

Mine starts with reduced intensity, if I selected reduced intensity as a general setting. Do you use (intensity) auto-settings of any kind in the general / Touchwiz settings? Or reading mode?

That is actually a great suggestion. It does not switch to full brightness when system auto brightness is disabled.

I always disable those 'helpful' features. Just include the brightness control in your status bar, set Adapt display to off, Screen mode to "Movie", switch off Reading mode, all Smart screen features to "off" etc. (unless you prefer otherwise)
I still get a very bright screen that doesn't respond to the brightness slider. Any fix for this or are all users of S Note using it at this brightness?
I use Lux Auto Brightness (there is also a free version), to overwrite Samsung control. It allows different settings for different apps.
Thanks. Will check that out.

I think it works only if you turn off automatic brightness first and then start Snote

Tried the free version, bought the pad version. Works great and solves the problem.
Turn off auto brightness.

I had same issue. First I turned off auto brightness before starting s note. Adjust brightness, then run s note should keep the brightness the same.
It help the situation but not a permanent solution. Hope Samsung can fix it ASAP.
When using my phone at night the screen is to brought for me, is there anyway to make it darker? My D855 is rooted of course.

If you have Xposed installed, download Minimum Brightness.
You could also try a filter app like Twilight or Bluelight Filter.

Thanks, that worked! But is there another module that brights the screen more than normal?

I very highly doubt it.
Screen filter app from play store
Lux ftw. Lower brightness plus vastly superior automatic brightness in one :good:
Bluelight Filter is good!
Hello Together,
at night, when i am reading in bed or surfing with chrome the display is too bright.
Is there a app or tweak to reduce the minimum screen brightness?
I would prefer not to use an app with a filter overlay. It should really reduce the brightness.
I have read about such an feature with ElementalX Kernel. It did not worked so I changed to stock again.
THANK YOU,

Just disable adaptive brightness and adjust it manually to your liking.
Download the app f.lux , it sure makes the screen easy on my eyes at night
Thanks for your ideas.
Manual brightness lowest setting is no difference.
And i installed f.lux. I do Not like the settings.
Are there further ideas/possibilities?
What did not work with elementalx?
Did you install the kernel correctly and enable the backlight dimmer option? Works for me
Download this xposed module and lower the minimum brightness level.

ElementalX kernel has a feature which allows you to dim the display to a lower value than by default, you may want to check it out.
Try Twilight app
I found an app on Google Play called " TWILIGHT
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux
You set the time of day for the phone to dim - early in the morning and late at night. It dims the screen but also shades more reds on the screen as it's better for your eyes before sleep to decrease the bright lights. Been using it for 6 months and I like it. Occasionally - I get a warning of "screen overlay" when I'm using sime new apps that modify phone settings, but you can pause the app to modify settings - and reactivate the Twilight.
Give it a try..
Hi,
I always dim my screen 15-20% lower then the automatic mode do. Can i set it permanently lower between the lux-variables which are linked to 0-80% screen brightness?
Is this understandable?
For example: 20% screen brightness is set to 140lux
50% to 250lux.
I want to increase the lux or reduce the %.
It was so simple on my old Nexus 5 with Cyanogenmod ;D
Is there a xposed module or a app to edit the settings?
I dont want a app-icon in statusbar or a widget.
Thanks

Lux Auto Brightness app can do that but it's paid (not necessarily)
But with Lux i always have a ugly symbol in statusbar and it doesnt work like i want it to work.
What settings i should make in Lux?
