Try to change your USBport or USBcable
maybe one of these is the cause and solution

I have found that this is ussually the cause of not picking up the device.
You also want to make sure that you have your drivers installed on the PC or laptop that you are plugging your device into. Make sure that "USB debugging" is ticked on in settings/developer options. You can enable developer options in settings by going to settings/about device/build number. Tap on build number 7 or 8 times untill it says that developer options were turned on or it says that you are now a developer.
"Chance Favors the Prepared"

USB debugging doesn't have to be enabled for an Odin flash.....My money is on the lack of PC drivers or a damaged usb port/cable.

USB Debugging

Hey guys I'm trying to root my S3 via the tool kit in the developers section and I'm having a problem. My phone doesn't want to enter USB Debugging mode. I have it turned on in the settings but every time I connect it, it just connects as a media device any help would be appreciated thanks.

I had trouble with USB Debugging as well...I thought it would show in the notification bar but it does not give any indication that it is actually working.
Either way, it would not let me connect to ADB. First thing to try is make sure you have all the right drivers installed. If you're sure of that...you can slap yourself in the forehead like I did and try a different USB port and possibly cable...I had mine plugged into my USB 3.0 port and for some reason it did not like it...I changed USB ports and it worked like a charm.
Good luck.

In what application are you trying to get it to show up on? or is it just windows?
If you are running a 'one-click' or any Odin, make sure you 'run as administrator'.
Also if using adb or some other cli tool check that you have USB Debugging enabled under Developers options

If you haven't already try another USB cable and different ports on the PC. I can't tell you how many times I've had a cable that had previously been good NOT work. I've spent hours trying to get phones, printers and other devices installed when all I had to do was grab a brand new high quality cable.
Also, I'd recommend un-installing ANY and all Samsung drivers - make sure you 'show hidden devices' in device manager! then reboot.
And then re-install them. They're here.
Then Power down phone
Wait for capacitative button lights to turn off
Simultaneously Press and Hold [Power] [VolDn] until confirmation screen appears
Press [VolUp] to enter Download mode.
Then plug it into the PC.
Good luck
Thanks for the help it deff helped me rule out a couple of things, but i noticed that on the modem section of device manager one phone was listed and the other one was not...looking at that helped me resolve the issue
here is the fix if anyone else is having the same issue
dial ##8778#
You should get a menu titled USB containing 3 options AP CP ALL
ALL has to be checked
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626638
btw is there a repository containing all the ##XXXX# codes, and what are these called?
Here's one There are others just have to search for 'em. I can't find my other bookmarks.
Thanks for the info.

Have you enabled developer options on the phone? If not enable them, go to settings - about- tap build number until it says you are now a developer. Go back one screen and open the developer options. About half way down you will see an option that says usb debugging. Make sure that is checked. Unplug and replug your phone. A box should pop up asking you to allow rsa fingerprint click the checkbox and hit accept. Now your phone should be seen by windows.

How to make this working again???
The PC connection mode on your phone is set to "Charge only". Idk about the stock ROM, but on CyanogenMod you just press the notification that shows up when you connect the phone to change the mode

Even if I press under "STORAGE" -> "USB computer connection" the phone is saying: "USB is now disconnected". I checked already various menues for some settings without result. Google was also not help in this matter.

Try going to Developer Options>Disable USB Debugging, then reboot. Then connect your phone and try going to USB computer connection again, and enable whatever connection mode you want. You can re-enable USB debugging after that.
Dear wasip224
Checked once more the debugging setting's. But if the phone is connected to the computer or not connected, disableing USB Debugging is not possible. This item is greyed out all the time. See attached pictures.

I'm at work now, but you use Explorer and go to the folder where you extracted the drivers and use right-click --> properties in one of the files there. There is a tab that lists certificates. Just to be sure you can temporally disable driver signing verification.
http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
This instructions works in windows 8.1 and 10.

Hi all,
Could you install latest Intel USB Driver from this link?

Doesn't work for me, it says it cannot find the files. In my win10 install i have two problems, ADB only works if i disable driver signing verification and MTP doesn't work. I tried running sfc /scannow and it says WinUSB is corrupt and cannot be repaired (probably why MTP does not work). I tried using intel drivers for both and it does not work. Only ASUS works (but fails because of certificate) for ADB Composite Device, but mtp doesn't work anyway.
This tutorial could help you anyway.

Hi Kras and thank for the response!
I Tried it too but in my device manager it wont show any device related to asus nor adb.
Tryied to boot into TWRP but no MTP either.
I Tried USDBview but doesnt show. The strange fact is that the phone charges normally.
It happened after i switched to CHARGE ONLY... after that, could never go back "/
I think i´ll try to revert EVERYTHING to stock. Somethings not right.
Another information, the cellphone charges, i´ve tryied to unistall and reinstall every adb usb_driver but in driver manager, nothing appears, even an exclamation. Tried to force install drivers, nothing either. All this happened after set CHARGE MODE i´m so pissed off and frustrated
This is a shot in the dark, but in device manager you can click View>Show hidden devices.
From there you can truly uninstall all drivers, and then reboot and try reinstalling. Maybe this will help.
Also, different ports, different cables?
If it's just for file transfers have you also tried something like AirDroid or Dropbox/Google Drive/Mega?

[Help] Problem connecting OP3 to computer in MTP mode

Hello everybody,
I received my OP3 yesterday and I'm quite happy with my phone, but I'm having an worrying problem with the USB connection. Indeed, I cannot seem to get the USB connection working in MTP mode. In fact, I cannot get anything else working than charging mode.
Things I already tried :
- Enabling USB debugging
- 3 different cables (OP2, OP3, no brand)
- Manually choosing MTP mode in developper options
- 2 different computers
Maybe the most worrying thing is that the Windows device manager doesn't see any device when I connect the phone, not even a device with an error...
I'm really starting to think this is a hardware problem
Please, HELP ! :crying:

I had the same issue with my MXP and still have it with my OP. Just can't seem to get my pc to recognize them as storage devices.
A workaround I have found is to boot into twrp, then their recognized immediately and can be used as an external storage device.
I also got 'charging only' mode when I first connected OP3 to my laptop but after changing the settings at developer options I could do the file transfers and all.
I hope some of your privacy setting isn't messing up with it because AFAIK it shouldn't be a hardware problem.
I have the same issue.

Thing is I cannot unlock bootloader and install TWRP because the USB connection is needed for that
Beside, this is a 2 days old phone, I'm expecting it to work flawlessly...

When you connect the phone, Marshmallow by default connects in charging mode.
- Swipe down and you will see USB for charging "Touch for more options"
- Select 'File Transfers'
Transfer files.

That sounds like a hardware problem.
I don't have developer USB debugging mode on or anything.
I have this issue with my op3. Just got it in the post today. My windows 10 pc bleeps when pugged in but does not load a drive. In device manager it shows up as the d drive but not in file explorer. Annoying!
My windows 7 (company laptop) recognised my phone first time and installed the drivers no problem. I had problems with my USB flash drive earlier today until I discovered the hidden enable OTG toggle.

I had the same problem.
What I did to fix it was the following steps:
- Disable USB debugging in developer options
- Choose PTP mode in developer options
- Choose MTP mode in developer options
- And Done, my PC now recognize the phone in MTP mode
what i do to fix this
- disable OEM unlocking
- disable developer options
- plug USB (wait for drivers install)
- enable developer options
- enable USB debuging
Gah, having similar problems!
Have tried all the workarounds suggested here, but whenever I plug it in on MTP mode it just shows me the OnePlus Drivers CD Drive.
I have installed the drivers (multiple times) but Windows 10 just won't see the phone when I plug it on MTP mode, just shows me the Drivers CD Drive every single time.
It's recognised as PTP no problems, but no luck on MTP!
Any ideas?

Hi, i have the same problem, has anyone found any solution for this? It's starting to get pretty irritating... :/
Are you sure youre choosing file transfer mode from the notification area where by default its selected as charging only.
Try this
Hi Guys,
Try halfway inserting the USB cable into your PC, I was having the same frustrating problem and noticed that did the trick for me.
Still trying to figure out why the connectors are not responding when the USB cable is fully inserted, I admit that this is my first device using USB Type-C.
strange
The problem is not getting any better, i simply cannot get windows to even recognise my phone in device manager. Tried it in adb and fastboot, also tried a hard reset but no solution.. I requested a repair from oneplus because i think it cannot be anything else than a hardware problem.
guys i found solution on op3 forum... it worked 4 me with win 10 enterprise... download and install update from here... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3099229
This worked fo me: (i'm using Win10)
Device manager, and find "MTP device" then driver update, find on computer, and select MTP USB Composit Device. It works with enabled Debugging, OEM unlock is on too. :good:
