When I plug in the headphones I have sound distortion. The sound comes alright from speakers.
I have tried another pair of headphones, still sound distortion. I have reinstalled software. Still same issue.
Any hints? Regards

The quality on MyFordTouch with my GN2 via Bluetooth is very good. What apps are you using? If you're just playing your own music files, try a steaming app like iHeartRadio or InTune to check the quality and buzzing.
Hey Guys,
After I updated my phone to official JB, the sound quality got really bad. When I play a music you can't hear the bass properly and I can hear a cracking/hissing sound in between. This happens when my earphones are connected to the phone, I have tried many earphones (including iphone ones) but the problem still remains. Although the problem is not there when I am connecting my Bose mie2i earphones or Beats studio headphones.
Any suggestions?

Try with factory reset if you are not rooted or even rooted but not in recovery...be sure to save all your important things from the phone to your pc ...if it wouldn't help then download zero infinitys soundmod if you are rooted an flash this...you have to search it in Google or just flash renovate Rom it has the latest sound mod update...

Hi,
The sound through the headphones was working fine for the first few days and then it got distorted. Aft first I thought it was the headphones so I tried it with 3 different headphones and the issue still persisted.
The speakers work perfectly fine, it is just when headphones are plugged in, I tried using the headphones to listen through several different music players and video players.
Details:
S4 Galaxy on T-Mobile (UK)
Android Version: 4.2.2
Baseband Version: I9505XXUBMGA
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
What headphones are you using? There is apparently a hardware issue with the S4 and low-Ohm headphones, I think 12 Ohm and below cause problems.
Just got myself a Galaxy Note 8.0 (WIFI) for about 2 weeks. Everything was working well until I need to watch a movie on the plane. Then realized I got no audio on the earphones. The earphones used is not the ones that comes with the Note 8.0. It was the ones from my Note 2.
But I don't think the problem lies with the earphones. Anyway I tried again with an external speakers. Again no audio.
The audio out on the built-in speakers are good.
I am using the default video player. And Android 4.2.2. Upgraded when I first booted up the machine.
Tried going through the system sound settings and software (video player) settings. But nothing works.
And when I plug in the earphones or speakers, the message "something" connected is shown in the status bar.
So is it because the input jack is not working or something else? Hate to bring it back to the service center cos it will be one month later when I get back to Singapore. Now I am in China.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Did you try different headphones? If you don't have a second pair try them on a different device
