Hi folks,
When using the Note 8, and having to enter text, one has the option of keyboards, or, using the S-Pen, handwriting. The keyboards one can move to the top of the screen and such, but, the S-Pen entry (the yellow area that appears) is always at the bottom of the screen, and is non-transparent, thus limiting its size.
Anyone know of a way to move that entry-area to the top of the screen (I've found that when writing there, one often accidentally touches either the back, the home or the menu buttons below the screen, and, as you could imagine, this is an extreme frustration!
Optionally, does anyone know of a way (or alternative input software) that allows you to simply write anywhere on the screen (whole screen?) and it gets recognized and entered as text? (ie. a "whole-screen sized" entry-box, which is transparent, thus not covering the areas where the text is actually entered, almost like the recognition mode of S-Note, but, obviously, able to work in the browser, email, and all other apps...in a sense, replacing the current "keyboard (and its handwriting-recognition option)" with another?

I am using the standard tf3d. I am having serious problems in order to navigate through any of the lists such as the contacts list or calls list. First the scroll bar is far too small in order to select it easy with a finger. I also hate that it right starts calling a person in case I first hit a contact in order to scroll through the list. Sometimes I need to press more then once in order to have the item selected.
How can I change the config such that I get rid of this annoying problems?
Don't mess with the scroll bar. Just slide your finger across the list. If your problem is that sometimes it selects an item instead of scrolling, then just keep practicing and it will happen less. Try moving your finger up and down to move the list around.
Why can't I configure it such (like Iphone) that I can select an item an whipe my finger without that it directly calls the contact? I want it to perform a call to the contact just after selecting the item for a longer while. Is there a GUI available for the TP2 which performs like the Iphone GUI?
try to remove useless items such as weather,stock and other ****s.
i have only 4 items in my touchflo3d,dont need to scroll,just click one of them.

The problem is not the tf3d.. it sounds to me like you just arent used the resistive screen.. the screens on these phones require a slight amount of pressure to work properly, as opposed to the iphone screen which is a capacitive screen which works off the electricity from you body therefore you barely have to touch the screen.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchscreen .. so if you are used to a capacitive screen, getting used to a resistive screen will take some time.. every time i let someone who has ( or has used) an iphone, use my phone they have the same problem.. and it makes my phone looks like crap until i explain to them how it works... resistive screens are more precise when it comes to pinpointing on a screen but capacitive is way more fluid and finger friendly.. I could be wrong in your case but the problem you are having happens all the time when people use my phone..
This is really bugging me. I've got Lecture Notes set up perfectly, but the one thing that's marring the experience for me is that I'm forced to write in a little window at the bottom of the screen (for text), and I can't find a way to move it or adjust the window size.
Why do I want to move it?
For simply entering text in a text field or writing a short note there is no real issue writing at the bottom of the screen.
But for prolonged periods, you feel the strain. You are constantly putting pressure on one end of tablet - upsetting the center of balance, which the wrist of your holding hand has to compensate for.

So, when using S-Note on the Note 8, there is the option to enter handwriting, which is then recognized, and turned into typed text. What I notice, is that the typed text is wrapped (next line) according to the way you enter the text lines below each other with your handwriting. Thus, if you write four words in a line, and then continue writing in the next line, the recognized text will also only have the four words in its first line, with the rest in the next line.
Since handwriting is, as a rule, much larger than the typed, recognized text, the recognized text always only fills about the left third of the page. This is obviously wasting a lot of screen space.
I would like to see a way to either drag-extend the text-box after recognition, and see the words wrap at the edge of the text-box, rather than according to my initial handwriting, OR, I'd like to see the software auto-wrap the text itself, making the text-box larger, to the full width of the page, thus allowing me to write much more on a page than only one third on the left side.
Anyone have any ideas about this?
Under Settings->Lock screen and security->App shortcuts, you can assign apps to the bottom left & right of the lock screen. I would like to assign Camera to both of these...but for some reason Samsung will only let me assign it to one or the other. Is there some way around this?
(The reason for having Camera for both is because that puts it within reach regardless of which hand the phone happens to be in. For example, while cycling, whether the phone is in my left or right pocket, I can grab it & swipe up with that thumb to quickly access the camera. It's far more difficult to reach all the way across the phone to the left shortcut with my right thumb, or vice-versa).

After installing a new display module on my OP5T, I noticed something weird. The display seems to be perfect, either original or a very good one. Bright, perfect color, no issues with it whatsoever. I've tested it in multiple apps (like Draw on screen) and it works perfectly, recognizing every input, never interrupting the line while I drag. All the buttons I press on the screen in apps work perfectly. When typing letter never gets missed.
However, it does have a SLIGHLY less sensitive touch. Like, if you very lightly tap it with a finger, it won't register, while before, it would. The difference really is miniscule. I usually wouldn't tap that lightly on it either way. However, it works up to be an annoyance, because now certain "swipe left-right" actions lack a certain "inertia" to them, which I think is because of this.
Like, before, to move around the launcher screens, I would just swipe sideways lightly and carelessly and it would switch to the next screen, now it will start moving and roll back. To make sure I switch a screen I have to apply effort with my finger. Same thing with opening notifications or app drawer.
Is this a hardware issue? Faulty touch? Or can I just increase sensitivity a bit with some software tweaking?
