I have had my Moto 360 for 1 and 1/2 days and the first thing I did was try to figure out how to get a nice Watch Face on there. I am all about customization! First I looked at Facer, since there was a whole lot of hooplah about it. I downloaded the app and went to make my first Face. I couldn't! The app wouldn't allow me to when I tapped the button. I could look at the premade faces, but not make one myself.
So I went and looked at another app, WatchMaker and WearFaces.
WearFaces was much more complicated than I thought it should be...especially after using WatchMaker first. I downloaded WearFaces since it also gotten good reviews, just to see if it was better than WatchFaces. It wasn't.
The first official WatchFace I made was the free version...I called it Purple Haze.
After seeing what it could do for free, I thought I would pay for the app and then see if it opened up anything that would be worthwhile! BOY DID IT!
The ability to use the codes to have the parts of the watch face and add different notices like weather, temp, batter life (icon or percent), events based on time of day...etc....WOW. I am in love with this app!
The developer was also on point in the amount of time it took to answer any questions I had in regards to features!
My next two faces after 1 day!
Doctor Who Time and Rainbow Hearts came next!
I am working on a The Walking Dead one now!!

One thing I love about watchmaker is how smooth the animations are on phone and watch. This can really be seen with the smooth second mode. I love the draggable weather widgets too, only wish there were some extra themes.
New weather and battery themes added in WatchMaker 2.4!

Not yet, but it may be worth asking the FaceRepo guy if he would think about building one - he posts on here too, so would be good to get his thoughts.
do i have to buy master watchmaker if i want to set a watchface i downloaded?
when i press on set watchface it says "master watchmaker" in the title and the options are later and get now . if i press on later it doesn't set the watchface to the clock
One-time purchase of $0.99

I have imported several .face files from facer and it automatically converts most of the fields. I had one face that I had to add in a text field but that's easy enough to do.
I have been using Facer for quite a while, I just downloaded watchmaker this morning and I must say I like the interface better in WatchMaker.
is it just me or battery life with watchmaker watchface is pretty bad compared to stock rotate watch face?
i tried this 2 watchfaces which is not so crowded with details with smooth second hand on :
http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/bulova-accutron-ii-1494afe5f73
http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/corv-imperatus-ruby-149481c6a72
maybe the fact the my watch is pretty new (got it yesterday and did 3rd charge cycle) effect battery life too .

I tried the Corv as well Jarvis, and although it's fairly smooth with WatchMaker, I was going to bed with 17-22% remaining, where immediately before using Watchmaker, I was putting it in the charging stand with 45-55% remaining at night.
I think you just have to determine what your priorities are... battery life or a sweeping second hand. I guess I'm more okay with a ticking second hand.
@Bimboy i changed the max frame rate in watchmaker settings to 15 , the second hand still moves pretty smooth and battery life is lot better in compare to when it was on 50 (default setting).
try too, maybe you won't need to prioritize

Nobody really knows anything yet, from what I can tell. You might want to attend the Hangout by Motorola for this in ~23 hours, though; presumably we'll get some concrete information from it: https://plus.google.com/u/0/events/c5oghenfqmpls1i2tmug84vgk1c
I might finally be interested in a watch. Gorgeous!

looks like Moto is on the ball with this device! looks great!!
I think it will have Wireless Charging I dont see any port for charging if yes would be great
Custom watchfaces? Finally I can emulate the face from zero escape, and maybe add bluetooth functions to make team pairs and stuff
What I would be especially excited about is the possibility of using the OS to rotate the display to the perfect angle for viewing. Think about how much easier it would make the viewing angles and interaction so much better. I just hope Google patents it (defensively) before Apple does.
Price theories? It's moto so I know they're gonna try to go low.
Hoping under $150

And this is exactly what I want most. It's the thing that's kept me from buying a smartwatch up until this point.
This would completely solve the issue I have with riding the motorcycle and wanting GPS. GPS units that work for bikes start at like $300-$400, which is crazy. This I could just look at my wrist with. Just gotta keep the zipper on my jacket wrist open lol
why all moto 360 images have a black bar on the bottom?
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpY8O5Zer78&feature=share&t=13m20s it seems to have the bottom cutted out as well
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnerqDWwVgg there is nothing indicating that black bar, not on 3D images neither the clock app design, only on the ending you can see the bar http://i.imgur.com/PSElyeR.png.

- On the SDK ( http://www.androidcentral.com/sites.../2014/03/wear-sdk-preview_0.jpg?itok=kTuL85Cm ) there is no black bar and the black bar on the moto 360 seems to hide the menu indicator http://developer.android.com/wear/images/screens/circle_message2.png

Unanswered Questions
The most interesting unanswered questions about the Moto 360 (or any AW device, for that matter) are: what SoC is supported/being used (presumably an ARM v7a core), what is the battery life (it had better be better than the QC Toq), what sensors are expected to be in use, what battery size and placement, are these inductively charged, how realistic/expensive is a color & round display.

or may be it will be some mechanism which will charge the watch by motion !!! remember some analog watches have that mechanism, but main thing is if so , will it be charging the watch sufficiently and quick?

Hey there! I'm back to making some watchfaces. I haven't checked in here for a long while. Been busy with other stuff and since they took down the other watchfaces I was kinda bummed, plus my computer died and I couldn't recover my files before it crapped out. So, all my other design files are gone. Great!
I'm going to create a few more of these if anyone's still interested and I'll take some requests. I posted a new one below and linked directly to facer. Not sure if that's fine or not.

Going to need a link. I am curious about the small dial config.

If anyone knows how to fix the battery dial please let me know.

but now I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it is working correctly. Had to use 280 because 270 would cause facer to lock up and black screen the watch (didn't try any integer between the two yet).

New watch face! Based on the nixie watch.
Not really sure if the battery indicator is working properly. It's the strip of color on the right.
Left hand side would be date. Month, day, year, from top to bottom.
Hour is on top, minutes below.
I'll get to the requests later.
Wow!
No offense to any other face-maker but yours are really nice quality!
I feel as though some of the ones that I really wanted I tried but there's too much going on and it comes out very... pixelated.
Your Luminor is smoothhhhhhhhh!
Keep it up and thanks for sharing these with us!

No. Everything is crazy slow on it. It's good if you just want a good looking watch that you can check phone notifications on, but if you want to use literally any other features, wait for the next gen of watches that will use Qualcomm's recently announced chip.

Sorry, I take back my previous post. I almost never use apps on my watch. I just gave them another try and each one takes a few seconds to open. It's not perfect, but it's not awful. I've been spoiled by my super fast Pixel 2 XL. You're right though, the new processor doesn't seem that much better, so maybe you should just get this one. It's definitely the best looking one on the market still, in my opinion. And you're right, the new cpu isn't that much better. So if you don't mind being stuck on Android 7.1.1, go for it.

This is a great watch with slow update schedule. I use mine daily and would easily recommend it. :good:
thanks guy, bought one SS huawei watch 1 and waiting for delivery, will update soon (sold my gear sport).
Good choice. I still love mine. Its imo the most watch-like smartwatch. And I have receive compliments from friends, family, colleagues and even random strangers in a lift regarding the watch.
Got to agree with the above. Good choice. Huawei got it right first time.
Had mine since the Huawei Watch first launched in the UK. Amazed it is still going so well and I am STILL getting compliments about it. The only thing that would tempt me away from this little masterpiece is if Huawei made a real successor to it.
I think had they not inexplicably reduced the face size in the Watch 2, I would have upgraded. But here we are, still with the Watch 1

Hey
Am I the only person that thinks there isn't another smart watch that looks as good as the Huawei watch 1? I mean it's not too bulky and looks like a cool normal watch. I have a black one. I wish they would just release a new version with the same body but updated hardware. The only thing that irritates me is the notification buzz, it's too loud. I'f i'm at work it's annoying for the people around me. Other than that I think it's really cool. Had it for a good few years now.
Any just sharing my thoughts
Still using mine and it's absolutely amazing. Won't be changing it any time soon. Great watch.
Send from Huawei P10 Plus with Tapatalk
Only just stopped using mine and it's simply down to the fact it doesn't have NFC. Still the best watch IMO, just lacking that one feature I like
I picked up a used one a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It looks GREAT, still runs very smoothly, and the display still seems to be one of the best around.
Fossil Q Gen 5 Carlyle looks good too, but is the new kid on the block ahahah

I actually just managed to bring up new life in my Huawei W1 by changing its battery myself(a lot easier than I thought...saw a youtube video). Got a battery from Aliexpress. The old one was very swollen.
Now it runs just as smooth as when I first got it.
Too bad that now I also want the Fossil 5 Gen(only because of NFC...and rotating bezel...and hopefully better charging procedure that does not require fiddling every damn time)
Just picked one up off kijiji for $100 CAD. Loved it the moment i saw it when it came out but didn't agree with Huawei's pricing. It IS beautiful, but people were not gonna spend that money on a brand that (back in those days) ppl didn't really know. It was always been on my mind. Jumped at the chance to get it. It's just a BEAUTIFUL watch! I get more compliments on it than on anything else. Just got back from 2 weeks in California. Tons of ppl asking me 'What the hell is that?!', followed by, "Wow! Nice!"
great watch, really loved mine. used it for 4 years......then the chargers started dying, 1 after another.....4 chargers later...the watch wont charge., only sometimes...was really sad
Have you tried polishing the contacts on the back of the watch? Same happened to mine, would only charge sometimes and only if the charger was in exactly the right place. Gave it a good clean and polish on the watch contacts (not the charger) and it's been working great since

What was your procedure for clean and polish? I've tried but it gets bad again pretty quickly.
I've got a dremmel / rotary tool thing that has a polishing attachment - I use that around the contacts then wipe down with a microfibre cloth afterwards.
I just got a GT2 for Christmas, which I really like. However my W1 is still the best looking smart watch.... If only Wear OS didn't suck battery so quick when on full sync. If sync is off I get several days of use, but sync on and I get a day and a bit if lucky. Whereas the GT2 will get a couple of weeks...

View attachment 4910847View attachment 4910849

I think the GT2 looks better. How are you dealing with the lack of wearOS features? I have an original Huawei watch, looking at a GT/
Didn't use most features day to day so I'm fine.

Yep. Not been charged yet. Straight out of the box on Christmas Day. Still on 64%. I have constant heart monitoring, stress test and upped the screen timeout to 10 seconds.

Great price. The only thing it doesn't have is speaker phone and newer heart rate monitor. The rest seems to be pretty much the same. [emoji4]

I just bought the MK Lexington 2 Gold, loved the look of the watch, absolutely gorgeous...BUT... My 3 + Year old HW1 still gets better battery life and unfortunately neither live up to the Samsung GW 46mm. Still love and use my HW1, but it doesn't go on business trips.
BTW I returned the Mk.
Hi,
i have huawei gt.
is the any way to put the screen always on and not only 5 minutes
No, that option It’s not available
then you’ll complain about battery life.
Isnt any hack to make this work? Thanks
Honestly an always on display on a watch is highly uneeded. you do not look at the screen ALL DAY. My Watch gets 12-14 days of battery and i absolutely love it. I have 0 issues with it compared to the Fossil/OG huawei watch i had. Wear OS needs alot of improvement. The huawei os could easily use improvements, especially in the notifications and the apps that send them, give spotify integration and ill be happy. A watch should be used as a breif notification tool not a phone imho
Thats Your opinion. I think have the choice to decide that os highly needed
I'll tell you why always on display is useful - I have amazfit pace with transreflective lcd - I can't count how many times per day I just do a quick look at the watch on the wrist of the hand e.g. lying on the desk while I'm working - without AoD I would have to lift up my hand and turn it with watch up or press the button with the other hand. Thanks but no.
Ok but i like this option. I just Im asking for that option. You dont understand what i am saying.
For the watch to be perfect, it just need to have an AOD mode and be open custom watch faces designing, it's silly they didn't implement those two from the beginning. What, instead of 12 days we got about a week's worth of battery? c'mon that's still best in class!!!

There're no other watches with same characteristics, this is the only watch to have this crazy battery life. I had the original huawei watch and having AOD with a custom watchface tuned for AOD having >95% of the screen in black, kind of like the watchface "GrayPlating", but without the seconds hand, it didn't really hurt battery life as much thanks to the screen being amoled, like the one in the Watch GT. So, I don't know what they are waiting for. Also, there should be an option to tune the sensitivity of wrist rise detection, because mine is lighting the screen with very casual movements all the time! and that's hurting battery life as much as having a AOD with a tuned watchface, so implementing that would get us AOD almost for free!

Firmware version 1.0.8.34 just installed, and they implemented some kind of AOD!!! it was a pretty obvious move. Basic AOD with just an option for a digial watchface, or an analog one. On the plus side I love the analog one, it's quite sleek and clean, I wish I could set it as a regular watchface too! if you set AOD the wrist movement to wake is disabled... instead that makes the screen go from the lowest brightness setting, to the pre-set amount -or auto-. They also added a double-tap on the screen to wake. Cool to see they are rolling stuff little by little.
They should really open watchfaces design via a phone/desktop app or some sort of converter from watchmaker. I would pay for that, it'd make this watch perfect.
This watch became usable now.
I will be curious how will it impact on the battery life. Hopefully not a lot.
What I've noticed though, after update and with AOD on raise to wake doesn't work I have to press the button. Is it meant to be like that?

Yeah, I guess the logic behind it was, if it's going to have an AOD watchface, and still wake up with random/casual wrist movements -false positives-, the impact on battery life would be even higher. You can double tap the screen to wake it up though.

Mine's going down at about 20% per day, with continuous heartbeat monitoring and TruSleep tracking on. I also do about 3-4hrs of exercise/week, so if it last for 5 days under this kind of usage it's all fine with me.
BTW it's also confirmed that they are going to publish an SDK for third-party development of watchfaces. Can't wait for that, hope it's full fledged, or even better, directly compatible with watchmaker's.
Someone can post a picture of the watch in this new AOD mode ?

Here you go, imho the digital one could do without the lines, and the numbers could be a bit thinner to reduce the number of pixels lit. Hope the upcoming sdk let us design AOD faces.
