New software update for Nokia X: v. 11.1.1
Hey,
we have started rolling out a new update for Nokia X (RM-980): v. 11.1.1 This is a minor release and available via OTA (Over-The-Air). Find the update instructions from here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/nokia-x-software-update/
Key changes compared to previous 10.0.3 SW version include:
Colors of 3rd party app tiles can be changed.
Phone software performance improvements.

The update breaks the rooting of device, any other root method for the device?

Root is still there if you rooted before, but I get constant FC's on the Launcher. Sigh.

****.. you are only few minutes faster than me Anyways, I installed the update and the performance and stability of the device is improved. Screenshots are attached below and also I have noticed a new featured called TalkBack in Accessibility, Was it there before ?

Just heard that, whatsapp is not working after the update. Could someone please update? I am planning to buy a new one and Whatsapp will be a showstopper for me

Don't update. It deceases your volume l3vel and battery life.

Here is how you do it manually:
Download the RM-980 v11.1 System Fota.zip from here Credits to uploader: David Vaz.
Boot into Stock Recovery.
Flash it via Stock Recovery.
Update done.

Please donot spam an update thread. There is no evidence to this regard. As far as I've heard, it increases performance and adds a theming abiity too.

FTF, TUT and SCRNSHT - How to update your C1904 to 15.4.A.0.23 - India

Hi,
This is a simple guide and it works for C1904 if your phone is fully rooted (I havent checked on a non-rooted phone, mine was rooted already)
This updates your phone to 15.4.A.0.23
All I have done is changed the below using "build prop editor" which you can download from the Play store.
ro.product.name = C1904_1274-5477
ro.semc.version.cust = 1274-5477
ro.semc.version.cust_revision = R1C
Once the above are changed, reboot your phone and start your Sony PC Companion, it will show you a popup that a new version 15.4.A.0.23 is available!
This a global version.

Just finished update, it actually took the settings and apps from my last version, however I am performing a factory reset right now,While answer your questions in a while!

All installed apps gone ? Thats a point of concern. Cant waste my whole day reinstalling them :/

Installed apps were restored! they were not deleted!
In fact I did a factory reset purposely to know more about this new ROM.
Below are the screenshots for this ROM.
You can not only check bloatwares but also you can get an idea on how the ROM looks like

OP I wanted to ask you if you have this problem?
When you go into the talk-back in accessibility and turn it on I have this weird problem where I am not able to click on anything. The whole touch screen kind of freezes and I have to double tap to navigate. The volume and power button seems to work fine. I turned it off and everything is back to normal.
I did factory reset the phone but the problem still exists.
>In the screenshot you can see that I am trying to pull down the nav bar but i can't do it and an yellow border comes up restricting the movement I have to hold it for sometime to pull it down.

This method worked for me, but I will need a easy method to root later on, because I want to restore the global setting to my local one

you are right thats what i guess ill do now ... but wanted to know .. this is global version ftf right? any india specific ftf? and would it make any diff if global ftf is installed or indian ftf ?

Hi guys today i received an 0.2MB update for my 10.5.A.0.230 KITKAT , Considering the size of the update i feel it must be a bug fix .
I have just installed the OTA , It has not changed the build number though .Look and feel remains the same .
Has anyone has else received the update and does anyone have any idea about what this OTA is all about .?

Not a bugfix version. Just a change in build.prop

AFAIK, this is the only change. Yeah it sounds weird.

I also received the same update and tried to update but error shows «could not install» after reboot...

Bro i have rooted my device.. and I have installed the patch..
So that should not cause you any problem.
have you installed cwm or any other recoveries like twrp, if so it will cause errors for OTA.

I have install dual recovery..so that may be the issue, now what should I do to install that update

Bro all you can do is uninstall dual recovery from phone [I think the thread from where u installed dual recovery has instructions on how to uninstall it] and then try reinstalling the OTA . But IMO why take all this pain when this OTA does nothing good , its a just a small modification to build.prop . You can wait until sony releases some major bug fix update if at all there is any.

Nothing changes with this update , There is still lag in settings menu once you uncheck force GPU rendering and we have still issues with location associated battery drain .
But I still wonder why sony took so much trouble with releasing update when this was just an update to build.prop with respect to region ...

yeah bro , that's the only thing which is inside this update , but do update the OTA because it might come in handy for 4.4.4 update if at all if we are getting it .

its been 18hrs i have been using the update and have come across below issues.
1. creepy speaker output(feels very bad sound output)
2. sudden fezzes
3. camera gone bad i think
4. settings wont open many times while trying to access from notification notification dragged down
5. had to update latest album manually
will update further day by day if come across
also would request you all please confirm above bug if you face

You will have to reinstall recovery... the same procedure as 4.4.3.

dual recovery is due for update wait for nut to update it

Already contacted Dev and giving him all the log files he needed so there vl be recovery soon..see devb thread for more information

Lol my phone never auto shutdown after upgrading....

One question, if i have a locked device and the device was upgraded to 6.0 marshmallow, can i use flashtool to install this .ftf and have 5.1 back to my phone?, remember that my bootloader is locked. Iwant to get back in order to root my phone.
