Would anyone be kind enough to link or attach the Stock kernel for Android 4.4.3 [2.22.401.5] 'CID: HTC_001' International. I have searched everywhere, couldn't find one. The only way I can get one is by downloading a huge nandroid backup and search for the boot.img, but this is not an option for me right now.
And, Is it possible to OTA update while Bootloader is unlocked (HTCdev) and S-ON but with everything else is stock?? (Stock 2.22.401.5, Stock Kernel, Stock recovery.)
Thanks and Please help! [If these questions were asked before, please post a link to that thread/post before deleting my post]

Hello, I have a One X that I relocked the bootloader for send it to HTC. Actually my One X is running a official 4.0.3 version and always says that I have new updates availables.
I want to know if I need to do something special to update it without bricking the phone or I can do it normally.
Also I have doubts about if now with my relocked bootloader I can unlock it with the same process that I use the first time that I did it.
Thanks in advance.
If you are fully stock....
Stock Rom (not rooted)
Stock kernel (boot.img)
Stock recovery
You can leave your Bootloader locked, should not be a problem !

Thanks for your answer, I have stock rom, kernel and recovery. What about the process to unlock again the bootloader for install custom roms? Can I do it like the last time? Thanks in advance.
The process is exactly the same. You can even use the same unlock code .bin file to unlock

Guy's Vodafone Australia came out with JB update today, and after reverting back to stock rom and updating using OTA. I was able to unlock bootloader, flash touch recovery, backup nandroid, flash ARHD 17.1 and now it's working.

How did you revert to stock to use ota? I've been using mikes stock rom on my brothers hox but it always shows no updates. Can you please explain the procedure in detail, what rom were you running before updating and what you did to update?
His cid is VODAP021, phone bought at vodafone but optus sim is inside.

Well you find a RUU for your HTC device and use that. You must have stock recovery.

New all that already but thanks anyway. Thought there was something else. It's kinda difficult to go back to stock since the right ruu for my brothers phone is only hosted on filefactory and requires a premium account. If someone has this ruu: RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_Voda-Hutch_AU_2.17.862.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_275359_signed.exe and could provide a no-premium-account-needed link, that would be most helpful.

I use mike's roms too, I think he blocks the update option so you don't even see it.
1. Download the Nandroid Backup form here. And install it via recover/ touch recovery.
2. Install stock recovery via fastboot, I used the Stock HTC Recovery 1.26-1.29 (wasn't sure which one mine was to start with) get the download also from here.
3. Relock bootloader Via HTC DEV
4. Now you have everything stock, do OTA via the setup/abouts/update menu.
5. Unlock bootloader Via HTC DEV
6. Install Touch Recovery
7. Install mike's roms

You can skip step 3. Bootloader doesn't change so no need to relock and unlock again (saves lots of time).

Hi mate,
I have an HTC One X from Vodafone too (CID: VODAP021).
Been trying to find the Stock RUU or Nandroid for the past week, but no luck.
I will greatly appreciate if you could share your Stock Nandroid Backup please.

you don't to be locked to receive ota, you need stock rom, stock boot.img and stock recovery and also to be unrooted as you already know. so unlock bootloader again and flash the 3.14 stock recovery then make sure there are no su files left in your system/bin or system/xbin folders

No need RUU.I think your in stock rom, if so just flash this stock recovery via fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) then check update OTA & install it.
https://db.tt/pO3jumMa
And you don't need to unroot either. It will be lost in process. Reroot after updates
Thank you for the input.
I did all the above and now the installation starts, Gets to about 30% and displays a red triangle with exclamation mark. The phone status is: UNLOCKED. Do i need to relock it to get updates.
Please help!!!
Thanks

Well then restore the full stock rom. You need :
Stock rom
Stock boot.img
Stock recovery
The backup seems to be corrupted. Can you please link me to the correct ROM I can use to restore system files and install OTA update.
Thanks heaps.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
That is the problem ! the one with the corect main is offline.....so there is none.
Hi Everyone,
As mentioned in the title, its a very simple yet important question.
Will rooting my international and unlocked HTC One M8 prevent me from receiving OTA updates on stock rom?
Thanks

You will receive OTA updates so long as you are on the stock rom with stock recovery (with stock CID or S-OFF) though I recommend having S-OFF if you intend to do so as an extra precaution.

Be sure to check my edit. HTC OTA/RUU's have bricked phones with a modified CID and S-ON on previous phone(s) so I recommend having S-OFF just in case.
You might lose some standard apps, but since they are on the data partition, which unlocking wipes, it shouldn't cause a problem.

Make sure you get the correct recovery, Verizon versions are odd, aren't they?

For official OTAs, you need to return to stock ROM and stock recovery. Then you should be able to update by OTA, which will also update hboot.

So then i just need to download a stock rom from here and run the OTA? Would that come with the stock recovery? Is there a way to do it without having to do that?
Thanks for the help!

No, you need to flash the stock recovery seperately. Get your stock ROM and recovery for your CID at the following thread (includes detailed instructions):

Another way to run the OTAs? For the most part NO. The exception being some US variants, where you can relock the bootloader and update by RUU. Otherwise, for non-US versions:
You need the stock ROM, otherwise the OTA will fail when it sees the /system (ROM) files have been modified from "stock".
You need the stock recovery, since this is required to actually install the OTA. Without the stock recovery, the OTA will attempt to install, fail, and you will be stuck in a bootloop as the phone keeps trying to reboot into stock recovery.
Unless you mean, is there another way to update hboot. The only other way would be to s-off the device by sunshine.
