[Q] About official updates and relocked bootloader - HTC One X

Hello, I have a One X that I relocked the bootloader for send it to HTC. Actually my One X is running a official 4.0.3 version and always says that I have new updates availables.
I want to know if I need to do something special to update it without bricking the phone or I can do it normally.
Also I have doubts about if now with my relocked bootloader I can unlock it with the same process that I use the first time that I did it.
Thanks in advance.

If you are fully stock....
Stock Rom (not rooted)
Stock kernel (boot.img)
Stock recovery
You can leave your Bootloader locked, should not be a problem !

Thanks for your answer, I have stock rom, kernel and recovery. What about the process to unlock again the bootloader for install custom roms? Can I do it like the last time? Thanks in advance.

The process is exactly the same. You can even use the same unlock code .bin file to unlock

[Q] Any wayto get rooted 2.3.3 with unlocked bootloader?

Hi, first of all, may thanks to jerpelea for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358.
I have try to upgrade my arc from 2.3.2 (unlocked bootloader) to 2.3.3 using the phone and I have brick the phone, now is with 2.3.3 running very well.
Now i'am looking for a way to root the phone, and i do not find anyware the way, but in few posts, some people talk about it, I do not know if it would be with locked bootloader.
If this question is on the forum, i don't find it.
Thanks
Flash a rooted .img if you are on unlocked device or flash a generic .181 ftf and root + OTA to get 2.3.3. Got it?
Its all in the forum under Android Dev section. Lookie lookie!

Bad idea mate, with the unlocked bootloader
hi, but if a do a downgrade to rom 2.3.2 (rooted), and update to 2.3.3 using OTA, my phone will brick, and i will need to make a flash using the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358, won't i ?
Yes, so it is advisable not to try the OTA updates AT ALL!
Like datagubben said, just flash an already rooted ROM.
Cheers!

Currently is not possible to re-lock your unlocked phone.
here is the quot from website:
"Please note that there is no turning back when unlocking the boot loader. You will not be able to revert the phone to a locked or original state if you unlock it. Also, if you brick the phone, it is your own responsibility."
See it more at this link:

if ur already having ur 2.3.3, just flashing recovery kernel made by either doomlord or bin4ry to have access to recovery mode, then, you can flash superuser package (aka root) to have ur fone completely rooted.
here's link of bin4ry recovery image (ps: this is just a live boot, so do exactly as what it said)

@smokada,
I'm not sure if an OTA update will work for you even if you relock your bootloader (after flashing 2.3.2) as the DRM files have been wiped but it's possible to update via SEUS, which would make you lose your root.
@silverwind,
You're a bit behind the times mate. We've been able to lock the bootloader for quite some time now i.e. from the end of June. You can follow that thread here.
[The DRM files which were wiped while unlocking the bootloader can't be retrieved by locking the bootloader again.]
EDIT: LOL! I didn't realise that so many people posted before me with the answer.

JB Update Question

My HOX is currently on HBOOT 1.12 I am waiting for the official Jellybean update. My phone is currently rooted and the boot loader is unlocked, My CID is HTC_001 and unlocked to any network. I have some question for when i do receive the update.
Question's
Do I need to update my HBOOT to receive this official update
if my boot loader is unlocked and my phone is rooted will i need to unroot and re lock the boot loader before updating
Search people ....search. there are al so many posts with the same question over and over !!!
You need 100% stock rom, stock kernel and stock recovery ! Root can stay also ...you will lose it with the update

questions about returnig to stock - warrenty

I have to get 100% stock for warrenty.. my devices is s-off, custom recovery, bootloader unlocked and custom rom. Will i get to stock with these steps: ?
- flash the stock rom (from my nadroid backup)
- flash the stock recovery
- set the bootloader to "locked"
- go back s-on
do i need an unlocked bootloader to get s-on ("writesecureflag 3) ?
Thanks!
If you used htcdev to unlock the boot loader, this can be a problem since HTC can see it!

If you're already on stock Sense 6 before doing these steps, I would think flashing stock recovery is enough. Then you can manually boot into the OS and do a factory reset from within the settings, before sending it off for warranty repairs.

You can try spoofing S-ON status through hboot. I have not tried this before, so proceed with caution. You can read about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708721.

Does it work to flash files (.zip & recovery) with a locked bootloader but s-off? And is it possible to get s-on with a locked bootloader?
Okay, thanks guys! I just "stocked" my phone The only thing that´s left is s-off. Do you recommend to go back s-on?
I successfully returned my M8 back to full stock (no root, locked bootloader and S-On). I wrote about my experiences here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55374704&postcount=7

[Q] Help! Desperately in need of a Stock Kernel.

Would anyone be kind enough to link or attach the Stock kernel for Android 4.4.3 [2.22.401.5] 'CID: HTC_001' International. I have searched everywhere, couldn't find one. The only way I can get one is by downloading a huge nandroid backup and search for the boot.img, but this is not an option for me right now.
And, Is it possible to OTA update while Bootloader is unlocked (HTCdev) and S-ON but with everything else is stock?? (Stock 2.22.401.5, Stock Kernel, Stock recovery.)
Thanks and Please help! [If these questions were asked before, please post a link to that thread/post before deleting my post]
