Every time i uninstall an app or delete file it automatically goes into system data . Example: Deleted a 2gb file and 700mb show up in system data. Does anyone knows how to fix this problem? Because not only me,but my brothers's G3 as well

did you try something like clean master or the incorporated lg smart clean. some apps leave junk behind but clean master for example can "catch" those and clean it up.

Some folder that you can clean once in a while to free internal memory?
each app has its own cache', try an app like cache mate (Paid) or cache cleaner (free), both are great chache' cleaners
Linux does not work like windows, you should not need to do this, it won't free too much space.
If you clean this cache out then use those apps again it won't take long for the cache to build right back up again.

OK, so you have any other suggestions for clearing some internal space?
except moving apps2sd 'cause i've done it?
I found a temp folder /data/drm/tmp that sometimes contains the .apk file after you already used them, someone know anything about that?

it will free up space on rarely used apps tho, and especialy the market cache can rob 2mb+ when downloading
Try moving Dalvik cache to sd if you want, but if you have 100mb free and your apps are already on the sd I really don't see what your worrying about 100mb is loads when its just being used by cache.

But it's the temp folder within it. I deleted two big .apk file that were there. I know it's just apps that I just installed, it had the full name of the .apks I used. And nothing went wrong ^^
BTW, How do I move delvik cache to sd? How much space does it take? Can it affect the apps performance?

It can free up loads of space, and yes it can affect performance depending on your sd card.
But you missed the big point!
If you move apps2sd then Dalvik Cache to sd the only thing left in data will be the phones data which is tiny, so in effect you will be having over 100mb of wasted space in your phone. Why do you want this?
If I understand correctly then, moving delvik cache can seriously mess up the phone right?
I have now 85MB free on my phone, I think the more the better for phone performance =]

Why do you think this?
First of all, the memory we are talking about here is being used for disk space, so having more available just means you have more disk space!
Secondly, having loads of free program memory (i.e. the memory used by running programs, as opposed to disk space) won't improve performance anyway. Since Android doesn't use swap, once it starts running low on program memory it will start killing off applications, and will endeavour to optimize memory usage on it's own.
Regards,
Dave
thanks for the info =]
I wonder if there is Junk Files on android other than cache and history files...
Sometimes it seems that the available space change size. I checked all my system apps and they don't seem to grow.
I use 1 tap cleaner to delete cache and history.
If someone could give me an advice on this or if there is another tool that get rid of temp files or junk, that would be great.
Thanks
I use CleanMaster which seems to work well.

Hi everyone, I'm back to the W10M scene now that I got a new battery for my Lumia 625 and I would like to ask if anyone knows where unfinished update data goes in the system memory so I can delete it?
I have my 625 rooted with WPIntenals and the updates failed (multiple times) but the system now still takes up almost 6GB and I would like to free up some of that space as I have only a 8GB internal memory, I already checked the usual update download folders in Data and can't find anything nor can I find any spkg files by searching so I think there might be some sort of other files that take up that space because I am pretty sure it only took up about 2-3GB before. So does anyone know what files I'm looking for and where they are?
Does no one know?
Now I have only 200MB free on my system and it's only cause of the update that keeps failing, I didn't install anything new in weeks and I anyway have it set to install to SD card. If this keeps up I will be left without any space free on the system.

Storage reports System is taking 7GB something, can't say exactly now as my phone is dead.
Softreset. Hardreset. Reflash only if not rooted.

That folder is empty unfortunately but it also does seem like it stopped eating up any more space even though I got lots of "Couldn't download updates" messages so I'll just leave it as this with those 200MB free.
Ok... phone\data\shareddata\dushared\packages
or phone\windows\servicing\packages do not erase nothing from this folder. After hardreset ...bum, blue sad face..
Data\ProgramData\SoftwareDistribution
It's safe to delete the entire folder (i did twice), but it won't stop the updates from failing.

This did free up 2GB data, thanks a bunch.
And yes, unfortunately there seems to be no way to stop the updates, none of the registry keys that would work on Windows seem to work on W10M. (except not connecting to wi-fi and setting your data connection to metered that is)

There seems to be a way to actually prevent windows update from doing it's job, I have removed all the update data and then modified the hosts file redirecting all the links I could find listed online (and with fiddler) to be related to windows updates to 127.0.0.1 and now the update just sits on 0%, it's been a couple of hours already so I am pretty positive that it won't start the download, perhaps if this was done on a clean install (before the phone even noticed there is an update on the server) it would just never detect an update again.
hello i decided to update my nexus 7 flo to the latest stock marshmallow this morning but im in dilemma now.. as i have only 235kb memory left in my system rom. please help how to free it .. i only have atleast 10 apps installed now and i really wonder why it takes that much of memory... by the way.. my n7 flo is rooted already. please see my ss below
It's rooted, so no OTA is possible. You can only do this - and they wrote:
"Caution: Flashing a new system image deletes all user data. Be certain to first backup any personal data such as photos"
Then, what's the dilemma when you have no choice?

I`m guessing that Your Titanium backups has taken a lot of your storage.... You could go in and delete the backups You dont need?.... Also you could use Titanium to uninstall system apps...... and cleaning up the temp cache of used apps could free up some more....
I have the 16gb version and it is not alot of storage to use on it, the micro sd slot is one thing I really miss from Nexus ..... but I mostly use a usb stick for movies etc :good: ....
You could also use the cleaner script found here to free about 224mb of storage : http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/development/rom-bad-boyz-nexus-7-stock-rooted-t3219148
The stock firmware fills nearly all of system and that's ok. It's not slowing you down.
If you need more space in the system partition for some reason delete system apps with TB like mentioned above.

Ya I tried that system cleaner but it didn't work for me, I got bootloop instead.
Hi there. I just signed up thinking this was an Amazon Firestick forum. Looks like it's a lot more than that.
Maybe you can point me in the right direction, maybe not.
My firestick keeps telling me its critically low on storage and to remove apps. I have removed every app I cam remove except one. I have cleared every cache. No luck So with one app and every cache cleared it still isn't happy. What can I do?
When you go to FireOS settings / My FireTV / About, how much space is actually available?
The suggestion to remove apps is generic, and you may have a bunch of files taking up space elsewhere. Download a file manager app like Total Commander or MiXplorer and check to see if you have accumulated files in the Download folder.
Also check the rest of the internal storage one folder up (storage/emulated/0). Some apps may have left behind a folder with their own downloads. For example the Downloader app, creates a 'Downloader' folder where it puts anything downloaded through that app.

Try reset to factory defaults, that should wipe all the garbage left out by other apps

Problem is if I reset it will wipe out the one app I can't afford to lose.
It might still be easier to install a file manager and browse through the stick to find out where the space has gone.
Thank you1
