I tried to find the answer.. But no luck.. Maybe I'm too enhanced at the moment. But does this particular phone have a flash counter? And if so, can it be reset?

Never heard of a flash counter for this phone. I thought that was something only samsung did.
I couldn't tell you how many times I have flashed various roms. I still haven't had any issues.

There is a indicator in the bootloader I believe that trips when it's running custom roms but goes back to normal when put back to stock.
Sweet thanks for the info!

Hello - can anyone help me successfully remove Qslide from my rooted, stock LG Optimus G Pro, ATT E980?
I have seen two articles for this, both flashable zips give me an error saying that it can not "map" it, and the other was a status7.
I would really appreciate any help here, alternative methods, etc.
*hell, I may even throw you 5-10 bucks just for the help.
Thanks in advance

After I flash, I get that error that says unable to map...and then I am in a bootloop and my phone will not start.
*I used CWM to flash - is this wrong??
Thank you anyway.
Any other methods? OR maybe someone experienced this and can offer a solution?

It might be. I haven't been able to update, so I can't be sure. How did you put CWM on the phone?

- Decompile LGSystemUI.apk
- Find LGSystemUI/res/value/bools.xml
- Look for "floating_launcher" & change "true" to "false"
- Recompile & done
I decompiled LGSystemUI.apk and went to the bools.xml.. --- Searched for 'floating_launcher' and it didn't return anything.
Hey I need a little bit of help. I was running jlmancuso's Verizon port on my note 2. My phone decided to reboot itself and it got stuck on the boot screen. I got tired of waiting so I used philz recovery and formatted my device and loaded the Rom back on my phone. When it booted, I lost all cellular connections. It still works on Wi-Fi. I've the the ##scrtn# code but it doesn't work. I've called Sprint and they tried to help me reprovision it but they couldn't either. I tried to restore using Kies but my phone won't connect. I have returned to stock with Odin but still no signal. Please if you have any advice let me know. Thank you.
Same problem here with the same situation!
Those fixes require a sprint rom most times. Flash community rom or chaz's classic 4.4.2 and use your dialer codes there.

I have tried those codes with the stock Rom I loaded with Odin. Nothing works. Although I did get a signal for about 10 minutes when my phone was charging running your Verizon port...
Odd. When you go into setting about device status is your phone number/esn/etc correct or showing unknown?

It's all showing unknown. I'm not that worried about my phone, I have insurance through Best Buy so a new one will be in Wednesday. I just don't want this to happen again.
Yes it is not a huge issue and should not be very hard. I would suggest flashing the current community rom (has modified hiddenmenu.apk) then run the dialer code that resets phone and starts hands free activation.

I read your first post again and just noticed that you flashed DN3. Was that my port or one from a different device? I am guessing that it was from the n7105 thread.
If you hit me up on hangouts ( [email protected] ) I can help you out.

Well your backup is most likely not bad. Once we get your service back you should be able to restore everything just like it was.

Well after working with @imxsteezin I found his issue. He flashed the DN3 rom from another n2 device. I got him back up and running but warned him that flashing roms not for your specific device is bad. He got luck that it was a simple fix this time.
I guess you can flash everything back to stock and start over again
Guys,
Do we have a way to restore root to a device to recieve OTA updates? Previously I would use the Root Keeper app, but that hasn't worked since 4.3 was released. I'm specifically looking for a way that doesn't involve reflashing the stock firmware in Odin and basically starting fresh. I'd like to keep my device as is, just restore root to pull OTA updates.

Did you make a backup on out-of-the-box,no-root stock?
Yes, but that essentially would be the same as loading stock firmware, since it was the first thing I did. (No apps installed, no account syncs etc.)
Sent from my SM-N910P using XDA Free mobile app
Alright, so Superuser is able to restore root to the device, but OTA still won't work because the device is still detected as unauthorized modification. Looks like I'll be stuck pushing firmware after all.

Use Kies to update, it allows updates even if you are rooted stock.

It's funny that nobody seems to want to use Kies, but it's a great way to safely update the phone, you don't have to wait for OTA to get pushed to your phone, and it works on rooted phone.

I played with the Flex 2 at CES, I wasn't that impressed. I need a removable battery in my phone, plus that slight curve still makes for an awkward pocket fit.
