[Problem] "Self-working" after screen off, "self-tapping", strange
Hi,
I have my Xperia z1c for 2 week. Some days ago i observed strange problem. When I turn off screen phone starts to using some functions like, camera, browser, calculator etc. When I turn on the screen i can see sth like sb is tapping on the screen, even when I don't. I have to wait some time or once more turn-off screen and turn-on and everything is fine for some time. I have no virus, I already checked that by a few apps. I use stamina option - can it be this (why?)? I have no strange app from nowhere only apps which I know and I had on my previous phone. I have non rootes device from Polish distribution.
Please help!

Hehe nice problem I have phone from polish dystrybution too and i dont have such a problem i think you need to do factory reset and check after this is the only way to reset everything to factory state and clean potentialy mess hehe

I hope that sb has similar problem or know the solution. Because I do not want to reset all phone. I will do it if there will be no solution

Long shot.. but could it have anything to do with a 3rd party screen protector that you have on the phone? I remember when I had a really cheap one, it responded strangely to my touches. Or Glove Mode (settings, display, glove mode)?

Glove mode is off. But when screen if off, i mean locked, so there is no possibility to "tap" on the phone even by the cheap protector.
Now i've done protecion by pattern and we will see if this will help anything.

[Q] TocuhFlo3D problem!

Hi! I have a big problem with my Rhodium.
I have post another similar thread before but aybody seems to respoding..
I don't know what happened to my phone.
The touchflo3D seems to not responding. in other words the screen reacts when I tap on it, but I can't move or select anything on the screen.
I don't understand if it's a software or hardware problem.
The problem born with a custom rom I installed.
R [WWE|GER|FRA|ITA|NLD] |Feb 12| Energy™-.¸¸.·´¯ 6.5|21916 / 6.5.X|28244 * Sense 2021
after few days of no problem, the screen became as I described, incapable to select anything.
I tried also to move to the settings to disactivate sense but it was impossible with only the keyboard.
I searched on the forum for the solution, but the methods proposed didn't resolve the problem!
So I decided to return to the ufficial Rom.
RUU_Rhodium_HTC_ITA_1.19.408.1_Radio_Rhodium_3.44. 25.27_Signed_Ship
I performed a HardReset before the reinstall of the ufficial rom, but the problem remained.
So I performed a task29, but after the reinstall nothing changed and the TouchFlo seem to be broken.
I followed the guides proposed but I don't think I commited something wrong...
I suppose is a problem of the software because, I repeat, the screen react to my tap when is in minimum light.
Please help me because I don't know whato to do...
Tnx to All!!!!
Is the issue *only* with Touchflo? Can you tap on the Start menu and bring it up?
I'm confused as to why you say "the screen reacts when I tap on it, but I can't move or select anything on the screen"
How can you tell if the screen reacts?

Hi! No I can't tap on the start menù and when I tap on any icon on the screen nothing happens!
What I meant with "the screen seems to react" is that (sorry for my English XD!) before the screen goes black, the light goes high to low, ok?
when the screen has low light, and I tap on the screen, the light goes to high, so it seems that the screen can react to my tap.
tnk you very much for your response.
If I wasn't capable to explain correctly, please tell me 'cause I'm a little worried for my phone!
Bye.
i don't want to bring down any hope left, but if it does not respond to anything you do, i think your phone has just lost its flat cable. It might be broken and fixing it up would be a total pain. I would bring it back to where you bought it. Contact me through pm for further details, if u're still wondering what does this mean.

This sounds either like a broken / damaged ribbon cable (the "flat cable" the previous poster was referring to) or a damaged / broken digitizer.
On my old phone, the digitizer slowly broke - first the accuracy of the touchscreen would slide, then it got to the point where it wouldn't register 'on screen' at all, even though the phone could still tell I was tapping the screen because the backlight would come on etc, just as you describe.
Replacing the digitizer will cost money, but if you're going to do that find someone good at doing it! And also consider getting the device checked out and replacing the ribbon cable too, it's probably one of the most vulnerable parts of the device so it can never hurt to be overly cautious and replace both of them. Unfortunately there's always a cost involved
Let us know how you get on...
Hi the cable is not the only thing that can couse your screen to not respond, ive seen a tp2 that stoped responding because IT captured humidity in the digitizer screen, you can tell if this is the case by mooving your phone under the sun light and you will notice a kind of rainbow loking transparente spot, this humidity causes the digitizer screen to get stuck, the Solution can be to let it dry in the sun, or to rub it jently against your leg, the fricción can help to dry out the humidity, hope IT helps.
Search on here "tp2 screen not responding"
There is a thread on here I found about the screen not responding, and cleaning around the chrome edge with something thin, carefully, (I used my fingernail, which worked, but I lifted the contact too much down by the buttons on the bottom of screen). Worked for me and a few others. Good luck.

Difficult to turn on screen in dark

Has anyone else noticed that when in a dark area, pressing the main button will turn on the screen but it will then automatically and immidiately turn off?
Several times I've gotten into a battle with the phone only to lose, turning it on and it turns off, then turning it on again and so on...
To compound the issue, in these situations it seems that double tap is signifigantly less responsive to activate the screen as well.
I'm pretty sure this phone is using some sort of facial recognition, it has smart stay doesnt it? I think it has gravity/accelerometer to turn on the screen when you pull it out of your pocket. In the back of my mind I'm thinking that since it cant see me it is shutting off but this doesnt seem consistent...
I'm running stock rom, rooted with twrp. Any ideas?
I have not experienced that. Did your G3 do that out of the box?
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
Never heard of it. Screen is set to auto off in 30 seconds. Change it to 2 min and you should be good. If u running without a case then maybe the hand is touching the edges of screen this will also shut screen off in double tap.
BAD ASS G3

I didn't notice it until the last week or so. but I kind of feel like that was because I hadn't used the phone that much up until then. I didn't make any major changes to the phone immediately before I started noticing it either, I had already had it rooted for about a week. I feel like the stock rom does have some glitches to it.
The G3 does have a "smart screen" feature that detects your face (Settings > Display). Disable that and see if it helps.
I've not run into this in the dark but have when I try and use my arm band holder when running. The holder covers the ambient light sensor so the phone thinks it was accidentally turned on like in a pocket and shuts right off. Super annoying.
Noticed similar behavior when the phone is in my bike mount at night. Basically it's acting like the proximity sensor is covered. In my bike mount's case, it is covered by a clear screen cover, but normally that doesn't trigger the proximity sensor. But when it's very dark out (not under a street light etc.), it seems to think it's blocked and turns itself off. Annoying.

Lol.
I have the same issue EVERY night. Why is that? It's very annoying
Same issue here
it seemed to resolve itself when I factory reset my phone
but after I got my apps reinstalled from my google backup it started again
so it seems like it's a software issue - not sure to which app it is related to
let me know if you find a fix - this is quite annoying
Me too. I've been facing this issue at night, when it's very dark.
Me and my buddy were in the car during a roadtrip and it was very dark, I mean like: No lights outside, no lights inside the car, the double tap feature didn't even work to begin with and whenever I tried to use the "Power Button" It would come on and then suddenly 'boom' Turn off, now this would happen a few times until it stays on. Weird...
I just experienced this myself, first time I've seen it happen in the 30 + G5's that I've sold. If it's in the dark it just doesn't turn on at all. I hope LG is fixing this. I'm about to Factory Reset it right now and hope for the best! Someone else mentioned that this is the only forum that is disccusing this issue. It must be a very few that are effected. I'm testing another one as we speak.
Has this issue been resolved? My friend's G3 also has this issue. Day time no problem. When it is dark the screen wont' stay on.
Same problem, no fix yet
Same problem here - Pointing it at any light and pressing the power button will turn it on. (As will plugging it into power). Tried tinkering with all sorts of settings (face recognition/auto dimming feature/etc) nothing worked. Tried factory reset, that didn't work either.
My issue started after i had my screen replaced (by a shady shop) who probably didn't do a good job of packing it back together....I'm going to see if I can have someone open it up and clean it out a bit..
I have the same issue on my G3. Even if you're under the covers in bed, the thing doesn't turn on until it gets light. It basically doesn't turn on in the dark through double tap and actually not even with the power button. It could become a safety hazard for someone in an emergency situation.

getting same here
So I've googled a bit,i could not find a actual solution. But here are some idea's:
Boot you phone i safe mode(on this link is a tutorial on how to do that: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/td-p/348008)
If the phone is on then go to settings-display and tick "adaptive brightness" or try untick if its alrady ticked, and then reboot your phone normally.
If that doesn't work out,try botting up without sim card,if it boot up normally go to settings-more- preferred network type and change to 2g.
I'm not saying this will work but this is what i found in 20 min googleing.Hope it works guys.Good luck

Black screen also ive got especialy after phone call :d only hardreset solve it here ..... perhaps it could be proximity sens faut or ? Disapoint from sony
I recall the exact same situation but with another phone. I used an app called lux to fix it. Maybe its the sensor but it's weird that just you had that problem.
another m5 black screen issue ....... it seems that many people going to say goodbye to sony forever pathetic situation...
sony support is out of words ....

Marshmallow people, weird ambient screen look when waking up.

So, I don't use Ambient Screen, but ever since the update to Marshmallow I got yesterday, i've noticed whenever I check my watch and the screen turns on for a split second it has the ambient screen look. Whatever notification i've got shows in the black outlined kind of look it does, and my dial is in its ambient screen mode phase. It's only a split second or so, before it flicks to normal. But it's never been like this before marshmallow, and it's a little annoying to see it flick between the ambient to the normal. Especially since I have ambient off.

Mine does the same thing. Also, the minute hand suddenly jumps when it updates to the correct time.
Same here. I don't like it. It's barely a 10th of a second, but its annoying. Changing watch faces does not fix it.
Mine does the same annoyin thing...
Whether could anyone attached clip that we all still do not update, see what the problem is?
Thanks in advance.

I get the same. I remember a similar issue shortly after it's release.
Same for me

Same here on my moto 360 1st gen, it shows the ambient screen for a split second before the normal watch face, this is annoying, I tried changing the watch face, turning on and off the ambien screen, etc. Nothing helps
Same with Moto 360 2015.... I guess it has to do with the DOZE mode in Marshmallow..
Try to set all elements value "Display" to Always in Watchmaker + remove all elements, that appear in Dim mode. Takes some time, but should be working.
Any news?
Same here in Italy... Very annoying

No Light on back key

Just took out HTC10 from the box, fresh install and I have noticed that BACK button light is not working
I have googled for any solution and only found this: http://recomhub.com/blog/how-to-fix-htc-10-back-button-not-working/ which does not help me as I dont have those options
Any suggestions?
I don't know what kind of drugs the person that wrote that webpage was on. The correct menu option can be found under Settings > Display, gestures & buttons.
there are no options to disable/enable lights on buttons
No one said there were.
so is this hardware issue with the phone then? right button light is just fine
Unfortunately it sounds like it is a hardware issue.
I have connected 10 to my car audio to test mirror link.. after a while I have noticed that back button has a light. After few hours it does not light anymore. Maybe it's more like a software issue then?
Wysłane z mojego SM-T815 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Could be software but I would lean toward hardware issue with the power system of the phone. That LED is not getting enough juice to stay lit, its poser dropping off faster than the rest of the phone. If it is an electronics issue it may get worse/spread over time and use.
Not necessary a hardware issue. It works again when I turned on light near me.
Will observe during weekend

I have Sprint version and can opt to have button lights on only when pressed or when screen is on.
Under Settings>>Display, gesture & buttons>> Navigation Button backlight option>> Auto off when inactive or always on when screen on?
You don't have this option? Or its not working?
