Composed since my watch has problem with UI. (Still I have problem when I reboot my watch after first set-up.)

The G Watch R screen is just way too small, while the watch is way too big, especially distance between lugs. Nice try but I don't think it will sell well, especially at its current price. Too bad, because LG makes the best batteries out there, they can cram large capacities in small or odd shapes. It will probably be LG which will come with the first 500 mAh smartwatch battery.

Aesthetically there is no comparison, LG looks chunky and clunky... the 360 is gorgeous. I'm sure the LG has the better internals, but I'd only spend real money on the 360.

Yeah, I think I'm going to re-buy the Moto 360. You guys better be telling the truth about the battery life, lol

Maybe it would look better with a metal band but the way it is I think the G Watch is ugly. It looks like a cheap toy.

yes, it looks like a toy watch. and the fixed dial makes it worse. why have a dial on a diving or aeronautical watch that is fixed? that is a big no no for people that are watch aficionados.
side by side the moto 360 just looks much more elegant. i have only worn diving watches for years. the 360 is the first watch that i have owned in over 20 that did not have a dial. if a company is going to do something then please do it right.
also it appears from those pix that the moto screen is a bit more clear. not sure if it is a brightness setting or something else.
Mod edit: removed deleted quote

Lg g watch r is no match against moto 360. 360 is an original design while the g watch r is clone of it made in a hurry. Look at that tiny screen and they can still praise it is battery life.

Full stop everyone.
I just deleted three pages of completely offtopic posts. This thread is about comparing the Moto 360 to the G Watch R, and not about:
Whether or not the 360 can achieve 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24, 100 or 200h of ambient mode runtime
Whether or not the Xperia Z2 can get more than 10h of on screen time
Which kind of runtime a Nokia 3310 can get
Whether or not there is a huge conspiracy about the 360 runtime just to deceive one single user here
The runtime of a G Watch (square version)
etc pp
So please, refrain from posting such things and stay on topic. This is your first and only warning concerning this matter.

Noted, however I would question how there can be a comparison of two products when it is forbidden to discuss probably the single most important feature of one of those two products.

If you want to discuss batterylife there is a dedicated thread for it. This thread is for comparing the 360 to the G Watch R.
Your posts only seem to cover the (in your opinion) unacceptable battery life of the 360. There is absolutely no reason for posting this opinion here.

Fair enough. I will stop discussing watches here, since dissenting views that favor the LG G Watch R are not allowed.
Edit: I have requested deletion of my account and will not be returning, since opinions backed up by real-world usage here are censored.

Not even close. The g watch looks like a cheap attempt that lacks refinement and elegance. The 360 is superior

I think it looks cool, but I like the 360 too...
Check out this unboxing video (in Korean): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56210373

I personally think that comparing the LOOKS of these two is like comparing a Citizen to a G-Shock, in that one looks more elegant, and the other looks more rugged/industrial. Note: I'm not talking about functionality, just looks. And based off of that, each side will have its fans. I prefer the look of the 360.
I didn't always feel that way. When the G Watch R was first announced, I drooled over that press render.
But once I saw live footage of it, I was disappointed. I was more disappointed than I was over the Moto 360's fake metal band. The G Watch R looks like a cheap knockoff of the above render.

Good point, it's like comparing suit pants to jeans. They serve different, but equally valuable functions...

The G Watch R screen is so small... it's like watching a television from the 60's

Here's a side by side comparison from the GW-R forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56245306

GR has round face. 360 almost has round face. It had to be said.
I have the 360 and wonder, every single day, how they allowed it out the door with that stupid sensor mucking up that beautiful display. [emoji33]

The G watch R has the advantage with always on display, just image the the battery life if you can turn that off. That said, the display is damm small compared to the 360 and cost about $100 more.

severe overheating on Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4

How true can this be, just read an article that Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 overheating results in back cover damage. Anyone experiencing severe overheating on the SGTS? http://blog.gsmarena.com/case-samsung-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-overheating-results-back-cover-damage/
I just read that too from Android Authority. They don't know if they'll be a recall issue in the coming weeks.

It would be horrible if Samsung didn't test for this. It could have have catastrophic repercussions. To both the consumer and Samsungs reputation and wallet.
My 10.5 became slightly warm once. Looks like a bad battery to me.
I've noticed a lot of heat in my 8.4, in the top right corner on the back. It was on full brightness in blazing sun (on a 100 degree day). It got so hot it was uncomfortable to hold.
Mine gets quite warm, but not to the point of being uncomfortable to hold. Just makes my hands a bit more sweaty in this summer heat.

I remember the original Surface Pro. You could fry and egg on that one.
One benefit of the book cover - you don't feel the warmth.

are you being sarcastic? lol because no duh it's going to be hot as well in 100+ degree weather, at 100% brightness. my galaxy S4 did the same damn thing when i was outside in the summer taking pics; that thing would get HOT. that's just samsungs M/O.
anyway, i've been using it a lot daily and haven't noticed it heating up anymore than a usual tablet would.

Not really a tablet gamer, but thought I would try asphalt 8 and see how hot it gets. It does get pretty warm across the middle of the tab although it does cool down pretty quickly afterwards. I would like to know what conditions the owner put his tab through to make the back cover warp like that. Would hate to think this could happen to me in the future.
Hurry up and make the book covers widely available over here in the UK! !

You want to know hot? The Asus TF701 got hot as hell. You couldn't keep your fingers on it. Although it was all metal. This device didn't come nowhere close to that.
Has anyone tried any of the battery saver modes to see if the tablet runs cooler?
The price you guys have to pay for being an early adopter lol.
I'll just wait and see and then decide.
This is option to delay in investment is worth $$$, in finance, this is called ROV (Real Option Valuation). If you studied option devirative, it is similar to an American call option.

I looked for the Book Cover for 8.4 all over the place but no luck. So I thought of one place where no one would expect to find one. Harrods. Got the bronze cover for my bronze S 8.4
Buttoning the covers onto the back of the tablet was rather scary, had to press pretty hard for the buttons to click in.
The back of the tablet must not be made of quality plastic if it warps like that

These overheating Tab S models are about as pervasive as exploding iPhones - i.e., not very. As far as being early adopters, at the pace technology is moving pretty much every new model of anything has an early adopter flavor to it.
Waiting to buy a tablet until the technology has matured is like buying call options? I've traded call options for 15 years. Don't see the parallel. With a call option you are paying a premium to have the right to buy an underlying stock at a set value by a set future date. As time goes by the time value of that option wastes and becomes less valuable unless the intrinsic value tied to the underlying stock has increased significantly. If the underlying value of the stock does not exceed the strike price of the option by its expiration date it expires worthless. Since you are merely waiting to buy the tablet and not buying a contract to purchase at a set future price and date you have no financial risk and therefore no derivative.
Not trying to be argumentative. Just don't see the analogy
isnt this just one incident? has any other people in this community seen that though?
it would be wise to check demo units too before you buy them check if there dents like that.

I'm guessing it was a faulty unit. Thinking more about it, aren't these tablets and phones supposed to have some sort of temperature gauge limit built in if they get too hot?

read the full article already. It's a model with an Exyno 5 Octa 5420. and the Russian played 3D games.
Can anyone having the Exyno model test it out?
I haven't got my Tab S, but really love to have one.
This really worries me. From the surface reflection, it looks like Tab S's back cover is a little uneven, thinner than the S5.
My previous tablet was a note 8.0. It was getting warm to the point that it was uncomfortable. Dont have that problem with te tab s 8.4, it stays a lot cooler

The back cover on my 10.5 is perfectly smooth and feels solid, not overly thin. There is nothing cheap feeling about this tablet. Not being an Apple sycophant, I'm not obsessed with an aluminum back. Have felt a bit of warmth on the back but nothing significant. This serious overheating seems to be an isolated incident.
I'd like to see some custom manufacturer come up with afermarket aluminum replaceable backs for tablets. That would take care of efficient heatsinking, rigidize the unit, look nice, and be rid of cheap plastic.
Part of the reason I like my Gpad so much!

Pebble Steel Band on Moto 360 (PICS)

Band feels very cheap. Not like my Strap code bands. This is why pebble will fail very soon. They make cheap stuff.
I guess I'll wait to see what Moto 360 bands look like then. At their price I would assume it will be much better.

I have the Pebble Black. Installation was a breeze but removing the links to get it to fit was the time waster.. Also, theres complaints of this this band being cheap and pinching.. It doesnt pinch, but what it does do is rip out all the damn hair on your wrists!!!
Its cheap. I don't have a issue with pinch at all.
I have the black one as well. I guess you shouldn't expect much for 20 dollars. It does look nice, but you're right it feels cheap. I have a silver fossil band, and the clasp feels much more sturdy. Also, after having it for two days there's already scratches on the bottom of the clasp. The links were a pain in the ass the first time, but after replacing them a couple of times to get the best fit it got much easier. I don't know if I want to get the official moto one. For 80 dollars I feel like it should look a lot better than it does. There's a couple of hadley-roma metal bands that are around 40 but they don't have the "gucci-notch" style so they won't fit.
Motorola 360 with Pebble Steel Black Band
Here is the Moto 360 with a black Pebble steel band.
The band does look good, but realize this is no PVD coated band. Its only 20 bucks so don't expect the finish to last as long as a PVD coated one. But honestly, I don't mind. this band is really to hold me over until I can get the official metal one.
If you look carefully (In person) there are some very small nicks on the metal band and it shows the metal underneath. Now it isn't obvious at all, and no one besides yourself will be close enough to notice it. All in all, a good buy for 20 bucks.
If anyone has any question or they want more pictures from different angles, go ahead and ask.
Also note that not any 22mm band will work. The band needs a notch in the center of it.
P.S: Can the moderators move this thread to the accessories section? This doesn't really belong here.

Virtoba X5 VR BOX can beat Samsung Gear VR 2 ?

As is known to all, Samsung Gear VR is quite hot and popular, right now i want to share a VR BOX which is named Virtoba X5 VR BOX. But as you know, Gear VR is sold at $99 which is very cheap for most users. But Some of them think it’s still high and expensive in terms of price to compete with Chinese VR headset. Virtoba X5 VR BOX has 120 Degrees FOV for more immersive 3D gaming and video experience. Most importantly, it sells very cheap for most users.
Check Virtoba X5 main features:
120 Degrees FOV for more immersive 3D gaming and video experience
Focus/dipterous adjustment function to adapt the VR headset to your eyes
Equipped with headphone, so that you do not have to worry about the sound
Flexible and adjustable head band
With foam cushion to alleviate pressure against your nose
Customized for*4.0 - 6.0 inches smartphones
Therefore, can you make the comparison between Virtoba X5 vr box and Samsung Gear VR?

Got my Virtoba X5
Got my Virtoba X5 today, it's really well build and has the best lenses i experienced so far.
Had a Color Cross before and it's really night and day when u compare both.
Btw there is no blutooth for the headset, there is a headphonehack build-in the glasses which u can put in your phone.
On the bottom u have a volume controller so u can set the volume higher or lower without struggle.
I think u can compare it with the Samsung Gear, maybe it's even better, really comfortable and the weight is also really well balanced because of the headphones.
Really happy with it!
If u have any questions or more pic's just ask

No the picture is really amazing, you dont see anything of the housing when loooking through the lenses.
But i also use a Nexus 6, 6 inch phone with QHD resolution, which is really important for a good VR experience.
Together with the headphones, you totally forget that you are using a phone.

Help me decide,LENOVO P2 ergonomics and weight

Hi friends, need some feedback here. I am going to buy a new phone and after going through many reviews I have shortlisted Lenovo P2(India).Although there are some shortcomings, but I think the positives out weigh the negatives here. But one thing is making my decision difficult here......size and weight of the device. The reason being, right now I am using a very light weight and compact device galaxy s4 mini. So, friends please tell me is Lenovo p2 too big and bulky(or is it manageable!!)and how is the overall weight distribution.
Also, please tell can we receive OTA updates once we unlock the bootloader. I hope you guys help me decide and eagerly waiting your feedbacks(any other pros n cons I should know)
Thanks for reading.

My previous phone was Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - 79 mm width generally great phone but I could not live with it because one hand was not enough in some cases.. So I switched to Lenovo P1 and Lenovo P2 consequently. 75 mm width. Only 4 mm difference but it made a great matter for me personally

Thanks. The problem is its online only in our country and not available in local stores. So can't check out before purchase. Btw, I have small hands for a guy.

Go to your local cellphone store and find any phone with 75-76 mm width. Surely you will find something. So you will get some idea.
P2 is well balanced right in the center.
My advice: check if you can reach the left side of the screen with your thumb not loosing grip of the phone - if you are right handed .
If not: rater go for Xiaomi Redmi 5" family phones. My wife and daughter got them and they are really satisfied. Their battery life is quite good compared to P2
I don't find the phone heavy and I know what Redmi Note 3 Pro feels in the hand. Honestly Lenovo P2 feels and looks much more premuim than most or even all the phones in it's price segment. I love this phone. Nougat is coming, many custom roms, fabulous screen and battery, snappy performance, all is right on spot.
Hi have compared RedmiNote3 and RedmiNote4 with P2, Feel in hand is same..
due to its metalic body, P2 is very slippery, hence i had to apply a SKIN for it.. i am using P2 with a SKIN on Back, and plastic screenGaurd on front
5.5 factor is onething which gives me cramps .. i had to stretch my fingers without letting phone fall from my hand Though using gestures and placing app icons reachable would solve this
with this huge battery, the weight is OK, not too heavy, we get used to it in a week ,
Weight :: an Iphone7 with leather case = redminote 3/4 with some kind of silicone case = our P2 with light Skin on it
This is my experience
but i am sure you can get used to it, unless you have small hands ..
all the best
P2 has micro screen feature

Micro-screen reduces the screen for one-hand use.
Thanks everyone for your feedbacks . Most probably I would be placing an order today cause a discount of Rs.1000 is there only for today. Btw, somebody in the forum talked about his phone charging at a very slow rate, do you guys face the same problem!?

answering my own question. lol...
Just a feed back so that it helps somebody like me. You guys were right. Coming from a very small device like galaxy s4 mini i was very worried about p2. Not only about its dimensions but the weight also. But since getting the p2 (got it on 8th April) and using it i can say that it doesn't feel bulky or dense. Though technically its much heavier than my previous device, but the weight distribution is done very well. And the good thing is when you get such a battery life, u forget about those things. This phone is not at all popular in the mass market. And i think it is very cheap also(price wise). And the reason being lack of ads, marketing and promotions from lenovo side. Lenovo can make it a second oneplus 3/3t(read dev friendly), they just need to release proper sources. No doubt the stock software is good. But we need a killer of the "flagship killer" at half the price. And I think this phone HAS the potential.
..........Just my opinion. Feel free to share yours.

Yeay i want to win one of the Honor Headphones or better the new Honor View 20 Phone self.
This would be nice..
My big 5 for the View 20 are :
1. The 4000 mah Akku
2. Headphone jack include.. Not everyone is using Bluetooth Headphones
3. Kirin 980 same as in the Mate 20 with 6 GB of ram.
4. Android Pie out of the Box and New Magic Ui looks much better as on Android 8.
5. The nice back Nano Design
Sry for my bad English
Greetings
Patrick
I love Honor V20 for various reasons:
Honor V20's Design
Like all Honor mobiles, the V20 build quality is good, this time its more premium looking with metal and glass build .The back side is constructed with others tone finish so the phone is a good looking smartphone at this price segment. When we come to the front side the screen ratio is high that give more feel to us and the bezels is very minimal on this phone.
Honor V20's Display
When we talk about the display, you are getting a 6.4-inch full-view IPS LCD display with FHD+(1080x2310 pixels) resolution, giving a full screen to body ratio. Don't like other phones, the notch is not appear here. The notch is replaced by the Hole display. The display is good here.
Honor V20's Camera
On the camera, the rear Honor V20 uses Sony IMX586 48MP sensor with a 1/2 inch pixel size. Next to the camera is the 3D ToF sensor. On the front, located in the hole drilled on the screen is a 25MP camera. The Honor V20 cameras are supported by dedicated NPU in the Kirin 980 chip, ensuring every AI task is best handled. Particularly, the rear camera will have the support of the fourth-generation ISP image processing chip and high quality night mode.
Honor V20's Battery
The Honor V20 is equipped with a Kirin 980 chip. Compared to the previous generation, this chip has 75% higher CPU performance and 46% higher GPU performance. V20 has 4.000mAh battery with 22.5V fast charger. THE NINE liquid cooling feature is also a remarkable point of V20. Moreover, the three WALN antenna design of the Honor V20 also eliminates ugly cuts on the chassis
Other impressive features of V20 include Turbo 2.0 GPU (which helps speed up devices when playing games), cloud computing with the ability to turn this phone into a Windows 10 computer and GPU Cloud helps V20 become a Super gaming machine.
I love Honor V20
Hello it could be nice to win this phone, it juste beautiful ? ? sorry for the English I'm French ^^
Sent from my Honor 8X using XDA Labs
Well...I leave a comment too. My mom needs a phone,so why not try?
Top things are great about Honor View 20,in my opinion:
1. The design of the screen, without a notch, but with a small circle for camera
2. The positioning of the fingerprint sensor...on the back, not on the front like most of the new flagships
3. The chipset,kirin 980,latest from Huawei,used by Mate 20 Pro too.
4. The battery. 4000mah battery is great, especially because kirin 980 is a 7nm processor,so it uses less power than previous models.
5. The cameras are very good for this price range, maybe better than flagships from other companies.
6. The price. For what it offers,it's a best buy
Cheers from Romania!
It would be nice to see Honor device with COSP
I am trying to think of a sob story to get people to feel sorry for me and think that I deserve to win, but in reality it doesnt work that way. Im pretty sure they pick an entrant with a random algo, or something like that. Any how Im in, never used Huawei before would be fun to try.
1. Camera
2. Design
3. Price
4. Headphone jack
5. Holepunch
I never win anything but let me try my luck
Top 5 things, simply reduced to this:
1. The display. Yes. Nowadays, everything seems to be about OLED, but hey, a good IPS panel is at least worth the same. And this is the case here.
2. The battery. 4000mAh?! Hell yes, more phones should have this at least. The Honor View 20 has it. Well done. This what we've been asking for. This should be sufficient for 2 days of usage, which is great.
3. The headphone jack. Yes, because, why ditching something, which is just working? USB-C audio is superior, yes. But there is still not much choice around for headphones. So you have to use dongles. And no one likes dongles..
4. The camera. At least according to pictures I've seen taken by the View 20, it's for example a huge improvement to my OnePlus 5. Pictures of my OP5 look weirdly mediocre compared to the View 20's outputs, which look sharp, well-balanced in terms of temperature and colors and the night mode seems to be very powerful.
5. The price, obviously. Yes, of course! I really don't know what OEMs are thinking by releasing price tags of ~1000€++. The View 20 proves that flagship features don't have to cost a third of an average monthly income. This is praiseworthy and proves that one often has to pay just for the brand's name (Sammy, err...).
This is a flag ship phone that doesn't empty your pockets! Great looks, and a huge battery. Where does the line start for those who want one of these?
Commenting to win.
I love:
the design, the back texture and the shape.
the single great camera.
the ToF sensor.
the huge battery.
the headphone jack.
the chipset whit liquid heat dissipators.
the new trend launched by Honor for hole-punch front camera.
All at an affordable price!
love the colors, the design, the overall specs, the camera and the display!
That charming blue color attracted me
Sir ,When will I receive my prize for the Honor 8x Ask the manager thread giveaway that happened three months ago ?
Hope this counts as a comment
@XDARoni. Sir you mentioned Bluetooth headset once and Bluetooth Speaker once in the op for the second prize. Please correct it

This phone seems really cool, I love the camera quality on this phone. Would really love to have one of them
Honor View20 Phantom Blue, good size, battery design and performance.
Stuck with a Samsung S6 since it came out. A new phone would be great also. And another set of blutooth headset is never too much also. Thanks for the simplicity to enter this contest
Daddy, can I please have a new Honor phone for school?
