SD encryption glitch - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I enabled full encryption for my 64GB SD card. The encryption progress bar was inching along properly. But when I returned to my phone a few hours later, there was no sign of pending encryption, but the SD files were inaccessible. I rebooted the phone and the encryption process restarted from 0%.
The same thing happened repeatedly. Then I discovered that if I keep the phone awake during the whole encryption process (about two hours), it runs to completion and the encrypted files are properly accessible. Not too painful a workaround for a one-time initialization.

Extremely slow or impossible access to SD card

So, the specs are following:
Rooted Desire
Official HTC Froyo ROM v1.0c by AdamG (with latest radio)
EXT3 partition with enabled A2SD (not Froyo's)
Sandisk 8GB class 6 card
Yesterday I've created EXT3 partition on my SD card, reinstalled fresh ROM (did all wipes before), set up all programs (A2SD enabled) etc. Everything was working like a charm until this morning.
Just for the record, this ROM worked excellent even without EXT3 partition. I was using Froyo's A2SD for a week. Yesterday I've decided to set up the unofficial A2SD in order to free some internal memory.
Symptoms:
- File explorer is hanging when it's trying to access to SD card. Some times the screen is black and FC popup jumps, some times after a minute it opens SD content. But scrolling and browsing the content is pain in the a$$ and it results with "application not responding" popup.
- Market cannot download new apps. Actually download starts, the icon in status bar shows for a second and then dissapears. There is a progress bar under the "download" section but it's stuck. Few times the Market has crashed too. Tried over wifi and data connection - same result.
- Selecting ringtone from SD card is slow or impossible. Default tones are played instantly and SD card's are some times played after minute or two, and some times results with "application not responding" popup. I can receive calls and messages but they are muted.
- Camera can't take a picture or focus. Can't open camera settings... Gallery is also slow. Browser also get freeze after opening a home page.
I can't remember I did anything crucial this morning. Everything worked fine yesterday. This morning I've sent few emails, browsed the internet a little bit, nimbuzz, listened to some music, connected mobile to the computer and exchanged some photos... Nothing installed, nothing modded.
Tried reboot several times.
Tried killing problematic apps and open them again.
Tried reboot without SD card - stuck on green htc boot screen
Help?
It seems some folders on fat32 partition was damaged or corrupted. However, I formated card in windows to prevent formating ext3 partition, and now everything's running smoothly.
Does anyone know why this happend? Two folders were corrupted: one is created this morning (it's new), and one is backup folder for one app (it was automaticaly created yesterday).
Seen similar behaviour. Can be caused by disconnecting the phone from the pc when it's still executing write actions. Probably there can be more causes but this way you can even reproduce it.
I had this with one card and it became worse over time, regardless of formatting. Easiest thing to do was to remove the damaged files/folders via cmd instead of via explorer. This saved me recopying everything on there again like after a format. In the end i replaced the SD card as i couldnt get it permanently fixed, just as if a couple of memory cells had been permanently damaged and the card would start to act weird whenever something was written to those cells.
So, just keep an eye on your card and you should be fine

Security Encryption

So I tried Zenfone 2's security encryption feature, its almost 3 hours now and its still loading (That little ball of circle revolving).
My questions are:
Does it usually take THAT long?
Can I remove the encryption easily without formatting/ erasing my storage? As I saw over the internet that I had to format/ erase my storage for me to remove the encryption? Is there a way to easily remove it without erasing my storage?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
When I encrypted the storage it took only a few minutes, but that was when I hadn't copied any data onto the internal storage. Do you have a lot of data copied to your internal storage ?
As for removing encryption, no it's not possible without a full erase. You need to factory reset your phone from the settings menu.
I encrypted my phone again today after a reset... completed in just 3 minutes.

I had the same experience. I considered that the encryption tool was getting hung up on something it was not expecting. I had moved most of my apps and data to my SD card to keep the system drive free space large and fast. So I moved all the apps back to the system drive and re-launched the encryption tool. It worked and completed in about 6 minutes. Encrypting your system drive data is a good thing. There is not an option to remove the encryption from the system drive. If there is data you wish to store on your ZF2 but do not wish to access protect with encryption, store it on your SD card.
I have put my mobile for encryption and it is almost 3 hrs, and still i don't see any other thing except the loading screen. Is there a way i can stop the encryption thing. And if so, what will happen to the system(mobile) and its data

T-800 dead slow, frozen, corrupted.

I left my T-800 with the charger connected. When I turned out the screen, it was basically frozen. Getting to home screen takes like a minute, the shutdown menu takes like a minute to appear, no application starts (most exit with brief error). After a while, I decided to backup this system from TWRP for further investigation before restoring the last good backup. The backup did not work. It exited with error twice (I tied to backup to sd card and to internal storage). Finally, I restored the last good backup, and it worked fine. Does anyone have an idea what could be going on here? I suspect, the internal storage started having errors and corrupted the file system. Just a guess. Is there a program for checking physical errors in storage?

Android (HTC M8) has "forgotten" my SD Card is encrypted. Help!

Hi there,
Having a bit of a stressful problem. My HTC m8 (Marshmallow) is encrypted, as well as the external SD card. All my photos are on the SD card. I have lots backed up but I'm having a great trip to NYC that didn't backup to google because I was roaming (it seems). Anyway, today my phone crashed (I think the battery is failing, it turned off instantly at 14%). When it turned on, all my photos are showing a gray icon (like they are corrupted). I cannot imagine how every single photo (of thousands) in multiple folders has corrupted.
Now, I noticed that when I go into Storage options the "Encrypt SD Card" box is UNTICKED. Implying the phone has forgotten the card is encrypted and thus cannot read the images. Though I thought it was weird that it can read the directories at all, implying its doing a file by file encryption rather than a full card encryption.
Anyway, obviously I know my PIN number that I need to decrypt the phone at boot up, is there any tool I can use to decrypt the images using this PIN? My fear is that (upon some research) that this is "encFS" encryption, which uses an encfs6.xml file to read the data and consequently the crash has deleted/corrupted this file. If so, this seems like a very delicate encryption mechanism.
Something else, when the phone started up again, it had reset a few other things. My default keyboard was no longer SwiftKey, I'm getting Android "tips" for scrolling etc. Also, I used to have a DND (Do Not Disturb) button in my pull down menu which is gone. Is it possible a carrier update occurred and wiped the encryption key file? Or the crash reset it and other default settings? Does Android by default use encFS to encrypt SD Cards? If this is encFS, is it a file I should be able to find on the internal storage called "encfs6.xml"? I did it as so (months ago, without issue until today... on holiday sigh)
Settings -> Storage -> SD Card (SanDisk) -> Encrypt SD card content.
As mentioned, it's currently unticked
Anyway, please, anyone, help me get my photos back
Many Thanks, WA

Decrypt SD card contents?

My battery started acting up, it eventually died completely and the phone only works when plugged in. For some reason, during the boot, it made a complete factory reset.
I had SD card encryption turned on and now cannot access any of my files on it. I can see that they are there, but the decryption key got deleted during the factory reset.
Is there a way/tool to get them back/decrypt them? I'm running stock Marshmallow ROM.
