Hi guys, I'm experiencing a problem with B634 (b512 and b513 also).
Few times a day I take my phone and it's asking me for pin number to sim card...
Looks like phone is not rebooting itself, just loosing signal and then phone requires PIN (to unlock SIM).
I read something about similar problem on nexus 4, they recommended to set radio on "WCDMA Only", but unfortunately it doesn't work in my case
I did factory reset every time while upgrading firmware...
Haven't noticed same problem on JB...
please anyone help me, I think I'll have to go back to JB if i don't find any solution

Here is the problem and the options that I have tried...
The phone works for some time, during this time I can receive and make calls. But suddenly it pops with a message "Invalid or Missing sim card. You can still make emergency calls if your service provider permits"
If I switch on the inflight mode and switch this mode off after 2-3 hours, it starts working. But the same message pops up after some time.
Below are the steps that I tried:
1) Upgraded the ROM to v1.13.188 (from O2 site)
2) Upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.0
3) Hard reset and soft reset etc...
How ever after the first upgrade of ROM it worked continusly for 3 days, but now it doesnot work for more than 2-3 hours, back to square one.
I havent tried the sim unlock. I couldnt find the unlock code and process from the link you had mailed.
Hope this will help you in suggesting the next steps to fix the issue.

Hi,
Please let us know the Rom version and radio stack you are using.
Have you tried downgrading back to the WM5 Rom and seeing if the problem persists?
I would guess that it is a dirty/damaged Sim card, have you tried cleaning the contacts on the sim card itself........... you can do this with a pencil rubber.........
Try the steps above and try another sim if u have one available, failing that post back some specific information on your Radio and Rom Versions.

happened to me too (after I dropped my JasJar)
I'm sorry to tell you this but the issue is not your software image.
This is a hardware problem.
I can tell you my JasJar dropped to the floor. phone speaker stopped working (but came back after the 2nd fall).
I then started to rarely get this "invalid SIM" message. I ignored it at first.
but it got more and more frequent until the phone was no longer usable.
I didn't change any firmware during that period. I blame only the crashes.
Something there must have cracked. cleaning the hardware didn't help for me.
I finally gave up and sent it to manufacture labs.
I had same problem and had to send it in and imate replaced the board for me and since it was within warranty it was done for free

Extended ROM Version: 1.13.188WWE

this is the exact same prablem I am facing, was anybody able to figure out how to fix this issue?
I've been having trouble over the past few days with a message popping up on my phone saying that the mobile network is unavailable and that I need to restart to insert my SIM card. The problem is that it seems to happen every 10 minutes. I did not make any ROM changes for months prior to this. I tried updating from Mmuzzy 4.2 to 4.2.2 but it didn't seem to help. Anyone know what the problem is?
Same thing here, but only occasionally, on DHD cfx 4.2.1...
Try confirming automatic network selection when that happens. It helped me each time.

Hi there guys,
As it turns out I was this morning at class, when all of a sudden my phone gave a signal of "No service", so the data internet wouldn't work. I didn't pay too much heed to it until I got back home and my phone wasn't working yet. It happens to be my phone, it's deconfigured. It won't recognize any SIM card.
I tried resetting it, upgrading its firmware... but nothing changed. I've thought of installing a custom ROM... I might screw my phone up even more, tho. I don't have any other alternative
Right now I'm trying a higher version... B708 (Mine was B512)

hey i was trying different roms and finally at end I decided to flash stock back, when i started my phone using stock os LP/MM both i have strange network issue. its like its connecting to network for few second then no service and keep repeating this stuff. flash different modem, cleaned board connectors but still same problem goes on. use different KDZ and custom rom but i cant resolve the issue. if anybody know anything or have any solution or suggestion will appreciated.
Issue - drop network after every 10-12 second and keeps repeating.

Can you send me your suffix code and hardware rev. Number . I found one solution which is partially working for now. I can manage to get network but of I turn on my phone while keeping wifi on then network will react strange but if I turn on my phone while keeping only data on then it wouldnt happen it remain solid. I recently posted about this in bootloader unlock thread and then few people started making fun of mine (they dont know why there is caution word when you unlock the bootloader) duffer. . But i know its causing because of bootloader unlock.

I have been using this phone from last 2yrs bt however from last 6mnths im facing network issue wherein I'm not able to get network bars.

Sometimes I get network bt suddenly after some times it disappears.
When i manual search for network it shows error "unable to found network providers"
i think it may be some kind of software issue bcuz my hardware is okay.
bt when i put the same sim card in another phone it shows full network on the same location.
Kindly help me on this.
I came to know thru the forum that by flashing custom rom can solve my problem, if yes then kindly suggest the best custom rom, which can increase my phone's performance.
also my phone is ROOTED

there are modems available as flashable zip files also
