Morning all,
Is there anyway (native, mod or otherwise) to change the default state of this option to 'on'?
I find that I use it more often than not.
I tried saving a Custom Camera with it on, but those settings are saved.
Thanks
GF

hey is there a way to turn off auto rotate for just the phone dialer menu? cuz i hate when im tryin to get a girl # and i have to wait a moment because my crap didnt stay on the normal dialer .. is there any way i can fix this without turning the full phone rotate off?
Totally, I hate it when my phone ****-blocks me
Me three, mine sits sideways in the car and can't get to the keypad
You can try downloading go contacts from the market. It will install go dialer, and if you use that in landscape mode you don't lose the dialpad and your phone doesn't "**** block" you
That's so weird u started this thread, and it's actually in the Epic section.
This has been a side-nuisance i've been working on for a little while. I tried setting up a profile in Tasker that would 'disable auto rotate' for certain apps, and the dialer is the only one where it doesn't work (still auto rotates). (contacts, however, works fine and doesn't rotate)
Manually, even if I turn OFF auto rotation, the dialer still rotates, which makes me think it's a setting in the dialertabactivity.apk ?
I'll decompile that apk later today to see if I can find anything, but if anyone has any knowledge about this, I'm all ears (eyes).
hello,
i have a problem with the sensor during call... when i move the phone away from my head, the display stays off, so that i can't stop the call (have to take out battery to stop call).
is there a workaround for that bug? i tried switching off "proximity sensor", but doesn't help... but also i want that feature
this is the only failure of cm7 that should be solved (in my opinion) to make it the best rom for defy
thanks in advance
SensorTest and plot app will see if the sensor is working
i've testet proximity sensor with an app called "phone tester"... this app shows, that proximitysensor recognizes, that i move near to the phone, but doesn't recognize if i move away from phone... i think this is an cm7-bug, because it works with original rom...
is there a workaround? is it possible to try another proximity-sensor-driver?
which is your cm7 version?
atm: nightly-build from 5.8.11, but it was also on rc1v2...
after a deep search in xda-forum i found a solution: i touched over the sensor with little pressure and now it works
but on stock i never had to touch it... it works always on stock and sometimes not on cm7 without touching the sensor... i am confused
You could try goto settings - Acessibility - "Power Button Ends Call".
Use power button to ends call which you don't need the display to turn on for ending a call.
thats a good idea! thank you!! ... btw: that option should be in "call settings" instead of accessibility... i think no one would expect it there
There's an option in Call Settings called "Always use proximity" which may be useful, and "also Keep screen awake".... both seem relevant to your problem. In Display settings there is also "In-accurate proximity" which I would suggest is enabled....
Sensor during call works on my CM7. For information, I've manual brightness, not auto... perhaps...
Hello,
Whenever I use the camera button on my ZL to open the camera (which is of course what it's for ), the settings I last used are reset and I end up back in (the crappy) superior auto mode!!
When I use the camera icon in app drawer it goes back to the correct settings that I set.
This is very very annoying because:
1) Superior auto sucks
2) I want to use multi auto focus mode because all the other modes have auto-focus (so there's no use for the ZL's button).
When I open with camera button and press settings, it also goes back to "good" settings.
Any help?
Thanks
Well, I can only say that this is by design.
Camera launch by camera key called "quick launch" and generally itended for situations when you need to take picture in a hurry, without time to fiddle with settings, in any possible situation - hence default to full auto. In camera settings you can also make it to instantly take picture, without even requiring second press.
If you want to launch camera in "leisure pace" with custom settings and all, you have to use camera app icon.

I understand. However with the ZL, for me, using the hardware button is by far easier and faster and I don't necesarlly use it to "quickly take a picture" but more to open the camera all the time.
It would be OK if superior mode was in fact any good
I don't know if I'm missing a "save" button somewhere, but is it not possible to save the camera settings in the stock camera app? I almost always want HDR and Video HDR enabled, it defaults to Normal whenever I exit the app, always. Why why? Any solutions or workarounds?
everytime i open the m8 stock camera, i have to set HDR mode manually. i find the colour saturation in auto mode too extreme, so would rather use HDR or even manual. is there any way to get the stock camera app to save my last used config?
Set your settings and open the options menu and save it under any name.
It will then appear as a new "camera mode" in the camera/video menu.
