Okay, so I got the Tablet on the 15th, and I loved it. But as with all things Android, I had to root it and put a custom ROM on it.
So after some research, I rooted it and put Hydronium on that night.
Followed all directions, and everything went flawlessly.
So the next day, after work around 2pm, I'm messing with it, installing apps through the Play Store and such.
I then set it down for about 15 minutes to eat.
When I wake it back up, I swipe to unlock and the device freezes for a bit then resets itself.
Upon rebooting, I swipe to unlock again, and the issue repeats itself. Freezing then rebooting.
This happens about 5 times, then the device just refuses to wake from any button press.
Almost as it it were off with a dead battery. (The battery had 76 percent charge prior to this.)
Its been like this since. I've tried charging it, but it doesn't respond. I've tried holding all combinations of buttons for over 30 seconds to boot it, no luck.
I've tried plugging it up to power and a PC and doing the same.
Naturally Odin won't recognize it in this state since its not in Download mode.
What do I do? Is there any fixing this?
I truly appreciate the help!
It sounds like a hardware issue to me. Send it back for a repair.

I run a M.O.A.R. stock 4.2 rom on my Sprint GS3 SPH-L710 (that is out of warranty). Yesterday, I was scrolling through facebook when my phone spontaneously rebooted. It didn't lag, or slow, or start to not respond. I was scrolling through my feed, and suddenly it was going through the boot screens. Except it wasn't just a reboot, it went into a boot loop.
I let it reboot maybe four or five times before pulling the battery. After a few minutes, I started it up again and it was fine. It operated normally for the next couple of hours until I felt it vibrate in my pocket, and when I pulled it out I found it had went into a boot loop again. Once again, I pulled the battery.
But this time, the phone wouldn't power up. I couldn't get it to power up, go into recovery mode, download, anything. Every button combination I tried produced no response. I tried using a different battery, didn't work. I tried charging my phone for a few hours (even though my phone was >75% when this happened) and even the battery indicator screen didn't show when I pressed the home button.
I searched for possible fixes, but I couldn't find any post or thread that was similar enough to the situation I'm in. I'm 99% sure it's not Sudden Death Syndrome, and that's about all I've found.
Anyway, I need help. What can I do (if anything) to make my phone work again?

Sounds like SDS, HERES a solution, or if your comfortable soldering, HERE

It was my understanding about SDS (and please, by all means correct me if I'm wrong) that a) it only affected phones with firmware below 4.1.2 (and that 4.1.2 and 4.2 had a patch to fix SDS) and b) and it only affected international models, i.e. i9300.
Started acting up last week when I noticed it restarted on it's own, but didn't fire back up right away. Instead it went into a reboot cycle for almost an hour (doesn't make it passed the Samsung splash screen). Then it just fixed itself and I was able to access everything as normal.
Once it was going again, I backed up all my info and did a factory reset and proceeded to re-load Jellybean (4.0.2?). Although Kies said I was already up-to-date and didn't do anything.
Anyway, worked fine for a week until yesterday when it went into the continuous reboot cycle, and never fully turned on again.
I have pictures and vids I would like to somehow recover (on phone and not on SD card), but I have no idea how to get the phone to start up. I have removed my SIM and memory card to see if that did anything. Also have done numerous hard resets (pull the battery and lock + vol down combo). It basically just kills the battery as it cycle reboots. Every few minutes, it will fire up again but still doesn't make it past the Samsung splash page. And when the phone is charging, it just doesn't turn on in general and just intermittently vibrates to try to start-up.
Dunno how I would even be able to flash the ROM (newb at this) since the phone doesn't stay on long enough to access the BIOS of the phone. Does this seem like a software or hardware issue? I bought this phone 2nd hand off Craigs about 2 years ago, so no idea if it was a refurb.
Has anyone experienced this and can direct me to somewhere so I can fix it? Or is it a goner and I should just move on to another phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Its likely a stuck power button. Search here or Google for treatments.
Sent from my Moto X cellular telephone...
it sounds like a problem I had once
Galaxy S2 Wont boot anymore
one option was to disassemble teh phone and check the power button , someone recommended I use an eraser to tap the power button and see if that would unlodge it and to my relief that worked. You might want to try that first
Two days ago, my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 dropped out of my coat pocket as i was running for the bus. I picked it up and saw the screen was cracked along the top left and bottom left hand side. Everything was working for the past two days and i figured i'll just wait till Christmas to get a new phone. This morning i took my phone off the charger and turned it on. The Samsung logo flashed, and then the boot animation for Slimrom (the custom rom i'm currently running on) flashed for about a second but then the screen went black. I did a battery pull but the weird thing is whenever i put my battery back in, even without touching the power button, it boots up by itself but then the screen goes black again. I can access TWRP and download mode but they both go black after a few seconds as well. I was able to successfully turn on my phone and have it fully function for about 15 minutes after putting it back on the charger, but it quickly blacked out again. It also keeps randomly booting up by itself which is weird. Im guessing this is a problem with the screen itself, but could it be a software issue because the device keeps booting up by itself? If it is the screen, will i have to buy a new one or is it not worth it? I've also tried using a different battery and i have the same issue so it can't be that. Any help is appreciated!
Sounds like an issue with the power button, it probably got stuck somehow either when you dropped it, or after you dropped it. Do a simple search for power button and you will find ways to fix it!
Holy crap i didn't even think of that! It makes total sense since every time i even tap my power button, even for just a second, it turns on. I've read around that clearing the cache or a factory reset could work. Is this true?
Unlikely, unless it's a software issue but it's always a possibility. Slam the phone against something to try to get the power button back into place, or open it up and try to see if you can fix it yourself, or replace it
The problem seems to be gone. I haven't had any issues for two days now. All i did was press the power button really hard multiple times. Thanks for you help man!
Hello there. I have to write this again becuase the last topic I wrote didnt get posted...
I have a big problem with my G3 and I have tried everything I could but nothing helped so I hope you can help me.
First of all my phone is only stock. I didnt try rooting it or installing custom roms on it.
Heres the whole story of what happened:
A week ago my phone started to act strangely. When I tried turning the wifi off it restarted or froze for a bit and then went on normaly as if nothing happened. I didnt even have to input my pin. Then one day I got home and the phone simply started reseting itself constantly. Always loaded up to the pin screen but I didnt even have time to input the pin and it reset it self again. This went on for like 15 reset before I lost patience and pulled the battery which didnt help at all since after being turned back on it went back to the reseting. I found online that it was probably a battery problem but I was impatient (shipping to my country is over 2 weeks and buying a battery in stores here costs twice the normal price of a genuine battery but only for a "fake" battery) so I factory reseted it via power button+volume down. After that it worked normally but I lost all my data.
The day after this I spilled ice tea on the phone. I opened it, cleaned it and let it dry out. Turned it on after an hour of drying and it worked but after maybe 2 hours it began freezing. When I tapped on the screen it didnt react, when I pressed the power button it took more then 10 seconds to react to it. It turned on, didnt react to touch and then in mere seconds it went dark and then turned off. I couldnt even unlock the screen. Tried pulling the battery but then it wouldnt even turn on. It stayed on the LG logo. I left it on the logo and on the charger and after an hour or so it turned on and worked normally so I took it apart and cleaned it once more even under the screws and such and it worked after that. Until today.
The freezing problem returned. I was playing a game on it and chatting via messenger when the phone stopped reacting. I had signal, wifi, I got new notifications and basically everything on it worked but the screen didnt react to touch and when pressing the power button it took over 10 seconds to light up the screen, then it went darker and then it shut down. Couldnt do anything. After I pulled the battery it would get stuck in a boot loop for maybe 10-15 minutes and then load but the phone couldnt be used. Just as before the screen turned on with a delay but no reaction to touch whatsoever.
I tried factory reset, downgrading to a lower android version (from 6 to 4) with LGUP and lg flash tool, and I bought a new battery. Nothing worked. I managed to get it to android 4 but that didnt help either. I though it was a problem with 6 because the problem started after the update, before that I didnt have a single problem with my phone.
Now its in a state where it doesnt work. The phone is running, apps are upgrading after the factory reset and all that but I cant do anything with it. Once in a while it will work normally as if nothing but that is rare.
Could you please help ? I love this phone and I dont want to have to sell it for spare parts.
EDIT: I left the phone running to see what would happen an after several hours an error message appeared saying "Process system isnt responding". After pressing ok it worked fine. How can I fix this. I googled it but all I found was a problem with sd card (none is inside), with battery (I have a new one) and with rooting (mines not rooted).
So a few months back, my phone had bootloop like symptoms, but i was able to access it for a few seconds, and after that it started freezing up and restarting, until it "bootlooped". I could enter the power + volume down menu, but rarely in the recovery mode. I hat to keep the phone OFF a few minutes/hours. I've reset it and tried multiple OTA's at that time, no luck
Now, after a few months, i tried again, booted up the phone, set it up like a new phone, it worked for a few minutes, after that it started freezing up again. The battery was 15%, than 4% than 32% (after every restart)
Now, i managed to sideload the latest OTA, the phone is in the previous newly setup phase, and ifi leave it charging (via laptop usb) and lockscreen it took about 5-6 minutes before it started restarting, and again, the battery indicator started to show 5%, 18%, 46% and back down to 14% after the last restart.
i've seen some similar topics here, that said that after a battery change it was usable again, but with no RMA possibilities, and on a tight budget, i would not like to invest in a new battery and service, just for it to be some other hardware malfunction. So if there is anyone able to help, i would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Hey are you still around? I think this may be a issue caused by the emmc chip itself. I bought a pixel for $12 from a guy who was just trying to get rid of a phone (with almost same exact issues of yours). Some people are saying because power button is stuck but that's silly because power button works perfectly fine in bootloader mode.
