Does Google Wallet Tap and Pay works with this TW Rom?
Have you guys tested the Tap and Pay function on Google Wallet?
I just left this rom to go back to the s3Rx 3.0 android 4.3 as my daily driver. I'm a creature of habit.
I wanted to know if there is any way that I can get the download to just the messaging app from here and if it works on 4.3? Sorry if this is a simple thing, I tried searching but couldn't find it on a thread & not sure how/if I can do it-Im still a novice.
I appreciate all the work you guys do and thanks in advance for your help

firmware version confusion
Hi, The requirements show I need firmware 4.3 or newer. Searching for what my current firmware is points to either the build number or android version. I'm on cm11 so I should be OK to install this, right? Is the reason for this requirement aroma? Curious because other roms don't have this requirement. Thanks!
if you have terminal emulator app you can type in....
getprop ro.bootloader
and it will tell you your bootloader version. also there is an app in playstore (sorry forget name) you can download and use it.
you can go to >settings > about phone and find your baseband version. hope that helps.

I'm not sure that's what I need. That shows my phone is T999UVDLJC. I'm looking for clarification on the firmware requirement for this rom.

Its 4.3, and that is actually what you need.. Also, just because your are on cm11 doesn't mean you are ok, you need the firmware, not a rom
Can't enable LTE on T-Mobile GS3 T999L on S3Rx 4.0
Thank you so much for making this custom rom.
I'm on T-Mobile Galaxy S3 LTE T999L. Really nobody else to my knowledge offers a custom Touchwiz 4.4.2 for the GS3 T999L.
It works surprising well. My only main problem is that I cannot seem to enable LTE on my Galaxy S3 T999L. The APN I'm using is: phone. I'm using an AT&T Go phone SIM that has LTE working well on stock 4.3.
I'm on S3Rx 4.0. In Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile networks -> Network mode, I simply cannot change the Preferred network mode. I need GSM/WCDMA/LTE, but whatever is selected, the new Preferred network selection doesn't stick. It stays on GSM/WCDMA preferred.

I had a similar problem when I had installed the wrong rom, and did not upgrade to the latest firmware..
You need to be on the NJC firmware, which you will need to flash using ODIN.......

Thanks for the reply. Nowhere in the guide does it say I need to be on NJC firmware. I did a Google search of NJC firmware and the only thing that comes up is "NJC ICS ROM CM7". Looks really ancient.
Anyway, I fixed the LTE problem by flashing the upgraded S3Rx 4.2 with Aroma installer (I was on 4.0). I then did *#2263# and selected Automatic (Network selection). Ever since doing that, network mode correctly stays on GSM/WCDMA/LTE and I have LTE enabled. This fix even persists after reboots.

DocHoliday77,
Excellent work with the S3Rx 4.2 T999 port. I'm on T-Mobile GS3 T999L and I have everything working perfectly, including LTE and Google Wallet Tap and Pay. I just paid with Google Wallet Tap and Pay earlier today at a Subway.
Strange thing is that the Google Wallet website specifically says that the following devices on KitKat don't support Tap and Pay:
Evo 4G LTE
Nexus 7 (2012)
Samsung Galaxy Note III
Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy Light
So technically, the GS3 shouldn't have Tap and Pay working, but it works. Not too sure where that discrepancy comes from.
Activating Google Wallet, adding a credit card and turning on NFC all set up flawlessly without any errors. The moment of truth was actually using Tap and Pay at an NFC enabled checkout. It worked at Subway.
DocHoliday77, this is one big thing your release has over Cyanogenmod 11. Last time I checked, Tap and Pay is not working on CM11 because it lacks the host-card emulation capability.
Thanks again for this wonderful release!
Nice Rom
Thanx bro. Grt work... Love this ROM...

Hi,
I have sg s3 sgh-i747m from telus and I have been looking every where but couldn't find an answer. The admins are too lazy to make a Canadian section so allot of people who have the same model run into the same problem. Can i use any other roms from other models like sgh-i747 or would I break my device. Also can I can a list of possible of compatible roms? That would be much appreciated.
I need answers and I hope that this will help others in the future.
Thanks
You can use any ROM designed for a d2att. This has been repeated all over the i747/i747m forum. Only stock ROMs are unique, custom ROMs are not.

I ma sorry but what is this d2att? Do i have it?
The d2att is the designation for an AT&T s3 which is the same, hardware wise, as the Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin, and Koodo models in Canada.
I just tryed to flash cyanogenmod 11 d2att but failed. it said that i was not d2att.
Try changing ur recovery to latest twrp/cwm works for me sometimes im using bell i747m

I can load Validus, CM11, and Cyanfox which are all 4.4.2-based ROMs and this is on an i747m that was running stock 4.1.2. I never updated beyond the 4.1.2 bootloader. Have a look at the updater script in the ROM and it will tell you which bootloaders are supported.
Apparently I was d2mtr. I managed to install cm 11. Thanks guys =)

There is no stock Android 5.0 ROM for the sgh-i747m. Samsung stopped at 4.4.2.
If you want 5.0, you'll need to flash a custom recovery such as TWRP and then a custom ROM.

I'm not sure how many of us are out there, tinkering around with the 8+ year old Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 . While I am a newbie, I have enjoyed flashing Custom ROM's , from CyanogenMod, thru various versions of Lineage, and now CrDroid. The newest O/S that I flashed is CrDroid ( based on Android 8 ). Runs great. Stable. Long battery life.
I have always used ODIN to INSTALL a 'recovery' system such as TWRP ( which is a .Tar file )
After TWRP is installed ( using ODIN ) I unplug phone from my computer. Then boot into TWRP recovery ( holding down the three buttons ). I do a clean install (flash) of the newest O/S that I can find ( Android 4.4 is really old ). It is that .Zip file that I flash, then reboot the phone. Always works for me. Eventually I learned how to back up all my contacts, SMS, logs, photos, etc.
BTW I am totally free of Google; no Google Play Store, no Google Pay, no Google Framework, no Gapps, no Google spyware, no Google bloatware, no Google tracking etc.
I download all my apps as APK's which are readily available on the Net ( Google them . . . just kidding! ).
My older Samsung S3 i747 was a 'd2att' originally locked to Rogers, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Then switched over to MTS (Manitoba Telephone System). Now running on Bell Canada. My replacement is also a Samsung S3 i747, originally running T-Mobile in Arizona, now running on Bell Canada.
These are damn fine phones.
Friend,
It's been so long, I don't even remember why I made this post. What you said about Odin and TWRP does sound familiar though. My S3 died years ago, I haven't done any phone modifications since.
Kind regards,
Keven

Well, that post of yours was from February 2014. Just like yesterday, eh?
But so sorry to hear about your S3. I thought these phones were indestructible!
They are so easy to tinker around with, without bricking. And because these Samsung Galaxy S3 phones are plentiful, zero cost, they're worry free when having fun messing around with them!
Take care, be safe & be healthy.

I've just come into possession of an old i747m. Still works, top glass is all cracked. But digitiser is undamaged. Touch screen works... I'm wanting to use it to play music in my garage while I tinker.. so I can still use my main phone and not have it plugged in...(Bluetooth speaker is on the blink you see)...it sorely needs a tune up though.. just want to be able to stream music through Spotify or pandora and use turbo VPN if I need to.. play store is seemingly not wanting to work well...
I'll have a go at your instructions... Provided I can still find links to all the files. Cheers

Sorry, but I honestly don't have any idea what you mean here. Those are terms not really used when dealing with rom issues.
But the simple solution is to flash stock, factory reset and start again.
Beyond that, we'd need a better description of the problems.

Queartion about flashing
So i am on cyanogenmod 11 4.4.4 right now. I noticed it says you will need a 4.3 modem and bootloader. What does that mean? Am I not able to flash this rom? Sorry for the dumb question, I am new to rooting and flashing roms.
That is referring to your base firmware version. When you flash firmware via Odin, it flashes multiple partitions to what ever build is being flashed. This includes the bootloaders, modem, and others. You can then flash roms on top of that, but the base firmware would remain unchanged. Roms only flash the system and boot (kernel) partitions (sometimes data too).
For the 4.4.2 TouchWiz roms to work, that base firmware MUST be at least a 4.3 build.
To check what you currently have, install and open Terminal Emulator from the store and enter this:
getprop ro.bootloader
It will tell you your current base firmware/bootloader version. If it's not a 4.3 or 4.4.2 build, you have to update before flashing the rom.

Weather on Lockscreen
Is there a way to get the weather on the lock screen of a At&t galaxy S3 4.4.2 KK Rom like the attached picture?
There is no "additional Information" selection under the main lock screen setting.
Likewise Galaxy S5 Rom for Galaxy S3
Can anyone confirm if this rom works well with SGH-i747M from Bell Mobile? Also, if I download this, will I still be able to recieve OTA updates? And if not, will Samsung Kies still detect it? And if so, would it install at all or what?
Does anyone have a guide with steps on how to flash this properly?
Any help at all would be appreciated, I'm still bit of a newbie at this... :/
You can only get ota if you are 100% full stock. No root, no mods, no custom anything.
You flash just like any other rom or mod. If you are not familiar with this, I highly recommend you don't do anything until you've read the sticky threads and searched the forums for remaining questions or concerns.

For those who wanted the weather on the lock screen like the attached picture: Note I am a total noob who just likes fiddling around. I do not know why or how this worked but.... I am running Enewman17 S5-EXperience Rom Found in the Likewise S5 thread.
1. renamed the SecSettings, SecSettings Porvider, and Keygard to .bak. in the priv-app using root explorer.
2. I used the SecSettings, SecSettings Provider, and Keygard from the S5 Sensation Rom and placed them into the priv-app and changed the premissions rw-r-r.
3. Reboot. Upon rebooting I got FC on settings but once the phone settled FC never happened again.
4. Go into the settings, lockscreen, then select additional settings, toggle on and select weather on lock screen.
5. Lock the screen to notice the affect.
6. I had to repeat steps 4 and 5 a few times for some reason but now Bam! its working. Hopefully the geniuses working on Likewise can get the UPSM to work and we will have a full blown S5 Rom. Awesome Job guys!

I have actually flashed my phone back to the official firmware because I was on cyanogenmod at one point and didn't like it and tried to figure out if there was a way to go back to the stock rom, I had people help me on a different forum site though.
All I really want is a touchwiz rom that doesn't lag every two seconds, Samsung has too much bloat on their phones D:
There are a number of 4.3 roms you can try, and theres Likewise, TMS3KK and S3Rx built from 4.4.2.
All are great roms and you can always remove a lot of the bloat that you dont like. Likewise does have a heavier memory footprint though. But thats understandable and it still hasnt caused me any problems.
I agree with you about cm, but ive hardly ever had a single issue running on Touchwiz.
And dont take my response as not wanting to help. Im always happy to help folks out, but on xda it goes a long way with everyone if you are willing to take the time to try to help yourself first. Thats why I suggest reading the stickies. It can be a lot, but theres a lot of great info there that can help you on many ways.

A few more questions, what do you mean by "stickie"?
And I noticed you have a "light" version of the ROM, but there's two different ones, what's the difference between them?
Also, in the regular rom the google drive link doesn't work, and the other link you have has multiple download links inside it, is it just the top one?
What do you mean by "4.3 modem and bootloader?" And how can I check if I have these things? Will it work if my phone is already at stock 4.4.2?
Is this rom compatible with Samsung Kies? I am asking because I need it to restore all my data if I manage to flash this successfully
Last question, would you recommend this rom as a daily driver? Also, whenever you release a new version, do I download it like any other software update? Where I can do it in the phone itself without any hassle?

No Power off Charge
Unfortunately, I do not have enough posts to post in the main thread. Been a member lurking here for years though.
So, I was on Synergy ROM 4.1.2 for the longest. Then 2 weeks ago I flashed Community 1.1 which is 4.4.2. After flashing community I was on 4.4.2 but still on MC2 Bootloader. Power-off Charge didnt work. It was a known issue. I flashed the fix for it in the community rom thread and it still didnt work. So someone said I need to upgrade to NE2 Bootloader. So I played flashed RWilcos NE2 Stock tar via Odin, which gave me Ne2 stock and uploaded my bootloader to Ne2 (verified by info.apk). I then flashed to DU. I have to say, best rom out. thanks for your work. Everything works 100%....except I still cannnot power off charge. I just freezes at the empty battery picture.
addt'l infos:
-Synergy was 4.1.2 with Persius kernal and MC2 bootloader (power off charge works)
-Community ROM 1.1 was 4.4.2 with JLmancuso's "Stockish" kernal and the MC2 bootloader (Power off problem begins)
-JWilco's Stock NE2 Completely Stock NE2 (DOnt know about kernal?) Stock NE2 Bootloader (Still no power off charge)
Now I am on:
DU (20141023-1754) 8.1
Bootloader: L900VPUCNE2
Kernel: 3.0.64-DU-g3ccb411
Dalvik VM: 1.6.0
Buildnumber: du_l900-userdebug 4.4.4 KTU8$Q
Any help please? Thanks! last help I got was from JLMancuso since this started when I flashed COmmunity ROM. He said I would need a NE2 Bootloader. Thats when I flashed back to JWilcos stock Ne2 and now JLMancuso is no longer with XDA unfortunately and all his threads are locked down. I have read in his thread and this one, where he came in here talking about the power-off charge bug and basically said there is no fix (Posts 1372 and 1373), that everyone is having this issue who runs a 4.4 rom and a Stock kernel, but some people are not having this issue. Any insight into a fix? Can I go to a different Kernel (Stock?) to fix it?
This post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55745845&postcount=8866 Seems to have the fix,but is completely Greek to me. I think JLMancuso turned that fix into a ODIN'able file, but only gave it to a couple people in PM's while testing it. (I think this was different from his Charging off flashable .zip in the communit rom thread OP).
Even if no fix, I will keep using your ROM, its the best out there for the n2, hands down. Thanks so much for your hard work!
Any help please? Thanks!
<edit>
It is in fact charging while powered off, however, since it freezes on the charging greyscale animation, I have to do a battery pull to get it to boot. I can live without the animation now that I know it is charging. I am just looking for a way to not have to do a battery pull to get my phone to boot.

No sound from headphones
I love the rom, but noticed when i tried to play music on pandora or listen to iheart with my headphones the sounds turn off when i lock the screen. This does not happen when i don't have headphones plugged in. Any ideas how i can fix this?
I have something strange happening. I have been using DU for a couple releases and love it. I have already tried a fresh install with no luck. My notifications are currently stacking over top of the status bar making everything on the bar unreadable. Also clearing the notification doesn't remove the stacked one on the status bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

So for some reason I don't get 4g or LTE. Is there something I can do to fix this?
Version 8.1 Update Change Question
First of all, I would like to thank the developers and team for such a great ROM. Lots of options and I can customize anything. It is like having a new phone all over again. I updated from version 7.9 to 8.1 (10/23 version) from a clean wipe and fresh install. I noticed a few option changes and can't find a few of the older options. For example the status bar message notification count use to be dirty tweaks, General UI, and Mis. Tweaks above the breathing message notifications. I did find it now under status bar tweaks, signal, and then notification count. On the previous version there was a setting to change the color the battery icon (I'm using the dotted circle with percentage). When charging I could change the color of the rotating circle. I must be missing the setting maybe it did not install. Does anyone know if this setting is still available? I thought previously I had more battery tweaks, but maybe I'm missing them or they are somewhere else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had the same thing happen. I switched to a darker wallpaper and you didn't notice it anymore
du 4.4.4 mobile network
My sprint note 2 will not communicate with networks. Mobile data or voice. WiFi works though
Network Data Fail
I Installed the latest version on my sprint note2 last night. The installation went flawlessly, however, I have no access to the cellular towers. It doesnt know my phone number, wont obtain service (including roaming). I have no idea what I am doing. Perhaps its because I'm coming from a Rom that supported the S Pen or maybe its because it was an older version of android. Not really sure, but your input would be greatly appreciated!
Rom works great from the features I can access/utilize!
Thanks!
flashed du8.2 on l900, no network and evdo.
flashed the rom from cm10.1 to du 8.2 for sprint note 2 l900.

Impossible to download
The L900 version of DU is no longer on the downloads site. Where can we go to download now?
Hello everyone,
I received an hTC m8 (Harman Kardon edition) as a gift. When I received the device, it was factory locked through Sprint Mobile. After a lot of research on internet and on this forum, I have unlocked it to use GSM services in India, and its working fine now.
But now the problem is it does not have the Tethering option. I want to tether my M8's internet connection with other devices but it has no option to enable WiFi tethering or anything. I have also tried a few third party tethering app from play store like(FoxFi, Wifi Tether, etc..) but had no luck. They all failed to start the hotspot and establish a connection.

Please help me, how can I enable the tethering or internet sharing option on my device.
Device Specs:
1: Model no: 831C
2: Rooted and Unlocked
3: Android Version - 4.4.2
4: S/w Version - 1.54.654.13
Please help me and let me know if more details are required about my device.

Agree that a custom ROM is likely the easiest way to enable tethering.
Be sure to use one that supports the Sprint version M8.
Also, your firmware needs to be updated before running current ROMs.

Post #2 above already suggested a couple ROMs.
Any ROM that supports the Sprint M8 should have tethering working. I'm not a fan of recommended certain ROMs. I'm not even a Sprint owner for one thing. But more importantly, ROM choice is a matter of personal choice. Its like asking me to pick a favorite color for you.

Thanks for the support redpoint73.
One more question is that you suggested me to flash a "custom ROM that supports the Sprint version M8", though I have an unlocked device, also sprint services are no longer being used as I am using services of Idea telecom in India and I suppose it can support global carriers now.. so is it mandatory to pick the Sprint version only or should I choose a global version.?
I have also read somewhere that sprint charges extra bucks to use its mobile data for tethering services, may be installing a sprint version ROM restricts that tethering option to appear (Just assuming, don't know much about these stuffs).

A custom ROM that supports the Sprint M8 is not the same as a Sprint ROM (such as stock Sprint) or using the phone on the Sprint network.
Its absolutely important to pick a ROM that supports the Sprint M8 (or flash the kernel to get another ROM to work - more on that in the next paragraph). Whether or not the device was SIM unlocked, or even changing the ROM does not change the fact you have a "Sprint M8". There are significant differences between the Sprint and other M8 versions (and being SIM unlocked or flashing a ROM won't change it - actually nothing will) in that the partitioning and radios are different. In this way, your phone will always be a "Sprint version" M8. The difference is important to understand, not just for flashing ROMs; but if you decide to s-off the phone and flash another versions RUU or firmware, it won't work, and you may even brick the phone. So don't do it!!!
If you flash a ROM that doesn't specifically support the Sprint version, it won't boot. You may be able to get those ROMs to work by flashing the proper kernel, but you can probably find more discussion about that in the "Sprint" specific M8 forums, from other Sprint version users, etc.
Custom ROMs will almost always have tethering enabled. Even if it started as a Sprint-based ROM, the dev will most likely have removed the tethering restrictions. That's one of the things that makes these ROMs so great!

OP already stated he tried that, and it didn't work.
Your intent to help is appreciated. But please read the posts carefully, before posting a response what is not relevant.
After impatiently waiting for that day to arrive, here it is: Android 6.0 for our dear s4 is there thanks to our great dev @AntaresOne.
He brought us an unofficial cm13 for the unified s4 variants (jflte) which is stable enough to be used as a daily driver. All credits go to him.
Almost all the basic functions work.
FYI, it's a goodbye gift.
Download link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63729768&postcount=312
Please, used the gapps suggested by the dev. Otherwise, you may face bootloop.
Enjoy but remember to thank @AntaresOne for this awesome work!

I'm downloading it right now and going to give it a shot. Hopefully everything works out, including using streaming services like Netflix or Hulu Plus. Will report findings soon.
I have read that cm13 will support tmobile wifi calling will it work with the s4 builds? Is it implemented in this build?

It should work if the signature verification is skipped.
Also be sure that the downloaded file is correct; some of the mirrors do not yield the correct file andd have a different checksum.
The checksums should be:
Code:
cm-13.0-20151108-UNOFFICIAL-jflte.zip
Size: 297,677,777 bytes
CRC32: 919fb9b9

Successfully flashed here. However internal and external mic don't work as well as auto time zones. Other than that, I haven't noticed an issue. I guess at first glance it also does not appear to be rooted.
Trying this on my Metro PCS S4 (jfltetmo) since it's not my daily driver and not connected to their network. So far it seems to be stable, but the battery usage is not good at the moment. The top of the list shows "Uncounted" using the battery the most. Not sure what that means. I am willing to help with testing this rom for this model jfltetmo, so if you want any info from this phone, let me know what and how to get it, and I will gladly share.
This thing did not work for me, leaving the phone stuck at the Galaxy S4 screen at boot. Restored using Odin and stock image, my device is the M919V.
CM 13flashed
Everything works fine but microphone. It does not work at all; call, skype, hangout, voice recorder, etc.

It's a known issues in all cm13 built. No fix for it yet.
Is this ROM dead? or will it be updated to work with microphone fix?

It cannot. Since ICS, T-Mobile's WiFi Calling has depended on TouchWiz to work. Sadly, for the S4, TouchWiz is stuck on 4.4.4 KitKat and likely won't be moving up to Lollipop. As of now, I keep a working KK TW Rom backup up as a Nandroid in case I need it but I've since resigned myself to moving on.
Need something to fix 6.0
I downloaded the Android 6.0 marshmallow for tmobile and the 6.0 gapps i flash them with TWRP recovery on my galaxy s4 I cannot create an APN because it says my device model is unknown and sims card is not inserted what do I need to do to fix this or is it just a CM bug.
Same^ any help
i used these micro gapps http://opengapps.org/

I think that a work around would be to call with hangouts... That's what I use to call over Wi-Fi
