When I use earphones without built-in microphones to make phone calls (using the phone's own mic) in noisy environments such as cars or cafes, the people on the other side either cannot hear me or the volume is very low. I can hear them just fine. If I take the earphones out of the phone, people tell me my voice suddenly becomes very clear.
Has anybody experienced this? Why would the call quality change on the other side depending on whether an earphone has been plugged in? Maybe something to do with noise cancellation?
FYI, my m8 is all stock except for root, custom recovery and exposed installer.
I've done some testing, and I'm seeing some weird behaviors. As far as I can tell, there are two microphones on M8. One in the bottom speaker grill, and another on the back, just above the camera flash. Here are the results:
*The earphone used here doesn't have built in microphone.
1. Normal phone call uses front microphone.
2. Phone call on speakerphone uses back microphone.
3. Phone call with earphones plugged in uses back microphone.
This is all good when you are in a quiet environment. With noise, however, it seems that you have to speak directly to the back microphone if you have earphones plugged in, otherwise your voice gets drowned in noise and gets cut by noise cancellation.
Weird thing is that the built in voice recorder app always uses the front microphone, regardless of whether an earphone is plugged in or not.

In call the person on other side always hear very low Voice(that is he has to use speaker and I have to shout). I think it's the dirt in microphone. So I used a pin to clear it, there is some improvement but not that much.
Sometimes during calls I hear a hissing / crackling noise, as if the other partys voice is getting distorted.
A restart of the phone solves the problem temporarily.
Anyone else has the same issue or knows of a fix?

On a related note, can you report on the experience of taking a call on the G3 when the audio is run through your car stereo via aux? Can the other caller hear your voice well, even when there is some noise from the car moving? Do they hear any echo from their own voice being played over the car speakers?
Low crackling noise in headset on LG G3
When making call through the headset speaker there is a very low almost electrical sounding crackle in the back ground. Callers don't hear it just me. On speaker phone or in Bluetooth in car I don't hear it. It's present during every phone call. I bought 2 LG G3's, and black and a white for my wife and hers doesn't have this issue. All of her calls are very clear. Also today the G3 stopped recognizing my headphones, where as my work phone, a Galaxy SIII and my wife's it will. Some old iPhone ear buds work fine, I just think it's strange my newer ear buds stopped working and they still work in other phones. I have also had the phone just freeze while opening settings and making to phone call unfroze it.
In the box:
The speaker comes in a simple grey box that is branded with Lumsing on it. On the box, they are basic stats about the speaker, features of the speaker, and the colors the speaker is available in. When you open the box, the speaker is wrapped in a piece of plastic, secured between two pieces of styrofoam. Along with the speaker, you get a 3.5mm audio cable, an instruction manual, a "Join our Power User Program" booklet, a micro USB charger.
First Impressions:
On the front of the speaker, there are four buttons that control answering/ hanging up calls, pausing/playing media, raising the volume, and lowering the volume. Under those buttons, you will find a battery indicator light that flashes green when charging, stays green when fully charged, and flashes red when the battery needs to be charged. Beside that, there is a microphone, and a Bluetooth indicator light that turns red when 3.5mm cable is in, solid blue when the speaker is paired with a device, and flashing blue when the speaker is not paired. There is also a clamp attached to the speaker so you can attach it to whatever you wish to. The speaker feels very sturdy and is made very well. There is no rattling when the speaker is shaken. When you turn on the speaker, the speaker says, "Power On. Bluetooth" letting you know that Bluetooth is on and "Powering Off" when you turn off the speaker. When you turn the speaker up to maximum volume, the speaker says, "Maximum volume." When you plug in the 3.5mm cable in to the speaker, the speaker also says, "Line In." The power button is located at the bottom of the speaker.
Review:
This speaker is unbelievable. For such a little speaker, it packs a punch. This speaker can get very loud. The sound quality is very good also. The battery life on this battery is amazing. After three days use, the battery still didn't need to be charged. I had to finally leave it on all night to kill the battery. The speaker takes about 3 hours to fully charge. Lumsing claims that this battery is waterproof. I tested this claim and I am happy to report that it's true. I put the battery in my tub and poured about two cups of water onto the speaker while it was playing some music and it didn't even affect the speaker. I also performed a drop test from about 5 feet while playing music and the speaker wasn't phased again. The sound didn't muffle when it fell or anything. This speaker can take anything you throw at it. All four buttons work like advertised. The microphone works very well also. I was able to talk on my phone using my speaker and the other party was able to hear me very clearly. I used both the 3.5 mm cable and Bluetooth to stream music and the sound is great both ways. The Bluetooth transmission range of this speaker is very good also. I had my phone in my room and put the speaker in my basement which is two floors down. I was able to position my speaker and get clear music streaming. I wish there was a seek button so I don't have to use my phone to skip tracks but it's not a big deal. If your in the market for a good portable speaker, this is a great choice.
like this kinds of speaker ,i guess many people will go for it ,waterproof
and mini portable size will be very suitable for outside people to travel .
I have a radio Eonon GA5155F (MTCB) with integrated microphone. I wanted to add an external microphone to improve the quality of my voice during calls. I have no problems echoing or of disturbing background noise. I would just make me feel as close and clear, approaching the quality of my voice to that during a normal call with the phone without a hands-free, because sometimes refer me to feel a little bad.
I bought a Kenwood external microphone (KCA-MC 10) and I connected at female placed on the back of the radio, but the microphone is not detected appears. I have done the test of blowing the external microphone during a call, but the receiver could not hear no noise; on the contrary if you blew on the built-in microphone on the front of the car radio bezel, the receiver feels the annoying noise of the breath on the microphone.
I tried 2 different microphones equal, therefore exclude that both are defective.
I would understand if my car radio accept a second external microphone, or my car radio has something wrong.
Or if I'm wrong type of microphone
and above all I would understand if a second microphone functioning, would function as main microphone, or in union at least built-in microphone, so as to increase the quality of my voice and make me feel stronger and clearer.

You must check if chassis connector is mono and your mic is stereo it might be connected wrong to the wrong channel.
I know that the microphone should be mono , since it has only one circle into the jack . But how do I control the radio ?
however, I have only one connector for the microphone on the back .

Try a stereo connector on your mic and test both channels.
I have tried to insert a splitter that I had at home that has the stereo connector , but nothing changes .
but I did not understand how I should " test both channels " I only have a female connector on the back of the stereo

Use a male stereo connector push it in to the female connector unscrew the top. Use clips to test the top and than the middle
track. Ground connected all the time of course.
This is strange.
Taking and making calls have gone very silent on my LG G4 H815 (UK Model)
When I am on calls the ear piece speaker sounds as though it has turned into a very faint speaker phone.
It is loudest when I turn the phone round and listen to the back.
It is NOT the large main speaker at the bottom
I have tried cleaning / scrubbing the front speaker grill.
I have tried as many volume settings as I can.
Using a headset, the calls work normally.
Using as a normally phone with volume turned up to the highest, I can just about hear and have a call.
Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks
