I'm looking for the best solution for navigation buttons, so that I can remove my navigation buttons from the bottom of the screen and regain that screen space. What is everyone using to replace the navigation buttons? I know there is LMT, with the pie interface, but I was wondering if there was a better option.
I was thinking, is there a way to use the same gesture to swipe from the bottom that is used for google now, is it possible to put custom actions buttons alongside google now in that area? I hadn't seen it on any roms yet, but wasn't for sure. It seems like that would be a perfect place to put home, back, and recent actions.
Lol if you didn't like the on screen buttons why did u get a galaxy nexus

Because its a great device. I have no problem with them, but if there's a better solution, it would be nice to use it.
Anyone have any useful contributions?
Lmt and button savior are the only options. I prefer lmt. We could write a new app to do what you want, but it would be a major project.
After trying both, I think I prefer LMT as well. Maybe in the future we will see a mod to the Google Now shortcut, similar to how custom lock screen targets are done now.

Share your favorite apps or tweaks here. Noob friendly! So I will list them here. So say them and be nice.
List:
Utter! Voice activation assistant with custom commands. Also adds okay google... Ya moto x...
Minuum keyboard. One finger predictive text with a small ui for Max screen real-estate. It takes a bit to get used to but it's great for fat fingers. It's not free and is 4 dollars. BETA.
Dynamic notifications. Moto x like lock screen. Very cool to test.

Sidebar Pro is pretty awesome. You can customize what apps are in the sidebar and open it from anywhere on your device.

True skate game, and I'm not really a tweaker but I do like the awesomebeats mod

GMD Gesture Control
Bar Launcher
Next Browser
Invisible Lock Screen Widget
Image 2 Wallpaper
Rescan Media
Gravity Screen
fauxsound app, elementalX kernel, gsam battery pro, power toggles(don't think this works on nex7 FHD),tapatalk
Two standouts for me are:
Touchpal keyboard
Flashfox
Auto hide soft keys + LMT laucher ( pie ) to use on stock ROM rooted
FX explorer ( the best file explorer in my opinion )
Nova prime

Best apps, I use Nova Prime for my launcher and I use LMT Launcher as well. Obviously Rom Toolbox Pro, Clean Master, Cachemate among a few others.
AOSP browser
K9 email client
Talkatone
Utter. Tasker. And auto remote. You can literally get your phone to do anything. Just a little research and common sense. I can hands free tell my phone to wake up and get battery status of my tablet. Within seconds it repeats back to me the status.

Is there a way to customize navigation bar?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using ViperOne rom.
Yes there is. You can install the Xposed framework and then download a module called Gravitybox you can then adjust the nav bar. Just be aware that this will break ART support. I do not know of a way that keeps ART support and allows for navbar adjustment. For Xposed you can look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/framework-xposed-rom-modding-modifying-t1574401 .
It says only for vanilla android can't use it on sense.

not sure how u want to customise it but gmd hide softkeys app on the market lets you customise it to a certain extent.
I wanna add another button to the navigation bar like g3 I'd able too.

Viper ROM allows nav bar customization.
New HTC one m8 user here coming from nexus 4. What a big upgrade! Running Viper rom. Is there a xposed mod or any mod to rearrange navbar buttons? I'm running the Android L navbar keys. Any help will be appreciated.

Yes I did. I switched the back and recents icons. Super helpful. The mod is under venom hub. But they seemed to have removed it. Not there no more.

Check out Smart Volume Control from the Play Store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.directservices.SmartVolumeControl
This app has 30 widgets available that allow you to control your volume settings from in the app or a widget or an icon with one touch on the screen.
(This is what I have read about the app in its description).
Good luck and happy Play Store shopping.

Well, I'd suggest using your Google-Fu and searching for OnePlus 3 apps for volume control and widgets. I am actually using this exact app on 6.0.1 right now. It works well for me and the widgets are nice.
and now a word from our sponsors....
