[Q] CAT.6 help - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all.
I brought an f460 from Korea. I am in the uk.
It is amost fine with lte on t-mobile. Took a bit of work though.
My only issue is that it will not record any calls i make or receive in the call log or show missed calls. I also note it says my phone number is 000000000 in the settings.
If anyone can give me advice it would be great. Google has not helped.

It could be related to something you changed to make it work with the APN settings. Maybe its not logging them because of that. If you really wanted you could flash back to stock and see if that solves the issues but you would need to back up everything because it will wipe your phone. Have you tried clearing the cache for the dialer ?

I have only manually imputed the apn settings. Apart from that I have not changed a thing. It did not auto set with my sim.
I tried the phone cache but it was empty anyway. Its a shame but not having the ability to see missed calls or the call history is a deal breaker.
I have though if seeing if my network provider can help but I doubt they can with a korean phone lol

It does save text messages.....

I've never had any issues with call logs on my F460S. Maybe try another dialer to see if the issue persists?

Had no luck with any dialer app. It does not even give me led notification. I will try a factory reset and get rid of it if no luck.

Unread Voicemail Notification

Ok I been on the rom Im on for a good long while, and I had pretty much all the bugs worked out. Then I switched to T-Mo and everything seemed ok till somebody calleed me and I decided I didnt want to talk to them. They left a voicemail and I called and pressed 7 on it and it deleted just fine, but my phone is still sayin I got a voicemail. Anybody know how to fix, and does anybody know what T-Mo charges for the visual voicemail service?
Hey,
I the have the same issue. The light flashes to indicate a v/m. I listen to the message and delete or save it but the light continues to blink indefinately.
In the end I decided to deactivate the visual alert for voicemails. I figured if someone leaves a message the likelyhood is that I have a missed call as well so the visual alert for that would grab my attention.
Good luck, I'm interested to know if there is a fix out there...
Btw I have an unbranded TP2 and the issue occured whilst I was on both the Orange UK and T-Mobile Network so I'm guessing it's a phone problem not network.
I've heard of people having phantom sms count issues but never voicemail.... I don't know if this will help but in the past I know people have used this file (attached)
just unpack it to your phone or storage card... run the .exe and a program will run telling you its clearing your count numbers etc then close. Reset the phone and HOPEFULLY it will fix your problem.
The problem is with the network and the settings. At least that's what I have experienced in Canada. When you bring an unlocked phone on to a network sometimes there are some little issues with network services. I would call an get the notification icon disabled through your provider. It's something they can control and it might solve the problem, but create another. like Eclipsed24 said .. it makes it not come up at all, but I'm sure if you miss a call ... you'll check your voicemail
Cheers,
Diggy

[Q] [HELP!] Expert Issue. Not receiving SMS messages.

Had Evo since day 1. Rooted right away and have been ROM-happy, flashing my favorite as developers release them. Went from Fresh to Myn to MIUI and am now on my favorite, most stable and reliable rom: Deck v1.
Problem:
9 days after switching to Deck I stopped receiving sms messages completely. This is not an issue of the notifications for sms being turned off, nor is it a ringer issue. The text never comes through. I can send texts without issue, no problem.
Tried to fix this in these ways:
•*I made sure I wasn't blocking any texts; this can be done at sprint.com > my account.
• I called sprint so they could remove/re-add my sms messages which usually fixes this type of issue.
• I restored a nandroid backup taken at a point when texts were working.
• I tried restoring the stock image - then updating profile. Still wouldn't receive.
• Obviously rebooted 35 times throughout the course of all this (i have to say it, somebody will ask )
• Full wipe etc.
Nothing worked.
Called Sprint knowing they couldn't do a damn thing and would probably stop listening if they knew my phone was rooted. Long story short they sent me in to get a new Evo. Was worth a shot, I wasn't convinced it was a hardware issue (how could it be, sms is not dedicated to a particular piece of hardware in the phone) but I went in and did the swap.
New Evo, unrooted, texts worked! but wait, that's not all.
9 days after rooting again and installing Deck v1 - poof - no incoming texts. The exact same issue.
WTF is going on here?? There is nothing in logcat, absolutely nothing happens on my side when somebody sends me a text.
Google voice texts are a good emergency workaround but I want my native texts. Is this a deck issue?? anybody else getting this? i;ve ggogled for weeks now and nobody has come accross this particular issue. Also this issue wont fix itself. i went a almost a week the first time without noticing i wasn't getting texts.
Have you tried a ##786# reset? You will need your MSL code. Also, it will wipe all data from your phone, so take that into account. When you ##786#, let the list load and then hit "menu", and "reset".
When I first flashed to a GingerSense rom, I lost the ability to send/receive MMS and I was not able to connect to 3G at all. 4G and WiFi worked, but the 3G was nonexistent to my phone. After calling Sprint several times, one tech told me to reset my phone this way. I told him I would have to call back because if my phone was going to get wiped, I had to back everything up first and it would take a while. After I backed up all my app/data with Titanium and made a NAND back-up, I did it and it got my phone working right.
Hopefully you get the same result. Good luck.

Flashed back to a Sense/stock rom to do just that. Didn't help.
Whenever somebody has issues like mine it usually involves sending AND receiving. For me it's strictly receiving.
People also center these issues around MMS. Sending MMS is not an issue for me. I can send everything. I can't receive a damn thing.
That certainly is an oddity. I've been using decks 1.2 since C, and am currently on Z. I've never had any issues with not receiving sms messages (as far as I know...I suppose it would take someone to tell me that they sent me a message and I never replied, which I haven't got yet) I have never really seen this issue, except on my buddies stock hero a couple weeks. His problem was that he had never deleted any of his texts, so literally had like 10k messages or more in there. Once I was finally able to get all his damn messages cleared out (took forever...he wouldn't let me factory reset it) he was able to start receiving texts again. I'm sure that's not your problem, because you've been flashing and wiping, surely your texts have been cleared out...unless you restore them all. That's the only time I've seen that. I would've suggested maybe it was an issue on sprints end, which would not be unheard of, but if that was the case it wouldn't have worked on your new unrooted evo when you got it.
I saw in deck's thread that you already deleted the telephony.db directory, and that had no affect for you. I really wish I had some suggestions for you, but that is just odd. My first guess would've been a problem with sprint.
EDIT: Also, are you using the GV and Sprint integration? I don't use it, but I saw that if some settings weren't correct with that (from the google voice website) that all messages will go thru google voice, and not thru the native messaging app. Could that possibly have anything to do with it, maybe?
If you have Sprint/Google Voice integration, that is the problem. There are some funky things going on with Google Voice lately. Can't send messages from Gmail to a Google Voice number and have it register as a cell sms. The message is automatically sent to and only goes to the Google Voice Inbox.
I've had some sms trouble with all ROMs, not simply Deck's. It sounds identical to your issue. Google is the only constant between all ROMs. My problem was resolved by going into Google Voice settings, unchecking "Receive text messages on this phone," saving changes, then rechecking it and saving those changes.
I have lost the ability to receive sms numerous times. I am convinced it is a Google/Sprint integration issue.
I cant get text messages either. I can send all day and im testing, flashing roms, recoveries, I just unrooted as a final solution (so i thought) and nothing. Same crap. If anyone has a fix or if the fix is on another thread let me know please, thanks. Other wise im just gonna root back and say F! text messages
If you're on MIUI and didn't wipe, when you flashed it can cause these issues. Try to reflash, after doing a full wipe.

Text not always getting thru

I am having a problem that when I send a txt msg it doesn't get delivered till hours later. It doesn't always happen but it does. I have good signal and everything works fine. Also I tried calling a particular person and it rings then voicemail they never hear the ring. Then it goes to voice mail every call after that. So I am not sure if its the network, my phone or the other phone. We run in the T-Mobile network. Could it be the sim card or the antenna. It doesn't always happens. I even went full stock and it still did it.
On the official stock it would keep giving me a yahoo mail failed to sign in notification . But it comes and goes. So I'm thinking its my phone. Not sure
Anyone have an answer for this? Or have experienced this also?
Thank you in advance

It may help getting answers if there was a little more information regarding what you've done to the phone up to this point. Rom flashed prior to getting problems, apps installed, or settings tweaked, etc. I had a similar problem with a different device and it came down to the radio/modem version. If you can give a little more detail I'm sure folks here will chime in with ideas before doing a reset or something.

[Q] Can't receive text messages

Hi, I can't receive texts on my One V. It still happens if I do a full wipe, persists across all roms. Sending texts is fine, data is fine, calls are fine, so I don't know what's going on.
Any ideas?
most likely your APNs are incorrect.
check with your carrier AT&T for the correct ones and change them
I don't have at&t, that information isn't up to date.
Anyways, I fixed it. It involved having my account re-provisioned through customer support, and then flashing back to stock and running the app used to activate your phone. Let's hope I never have to do it again.
awesome

VS985 LG G3 SMS issues

I got my G3 today and everything seemed to work fine until I realized none of my texts were going through. Whether I use Verizon's junk Messages+, the stock sms app, or hangouts, none of my texts go through. However, phone calls work, and I even received a service text from Verizon. Any ideas? Same deal on both Dalvik and ART.

Double check your APN settings and/or give big red a ring. Possibly more of a network issue than a device issue.

Ended up working just fine about an hour later after activation. So I think you're right... Just had to wait it figure itself out.
Had the Same Problem
After installing my SIM and calling Verizon to initialize the phone number it took a good while for the SMS to start working. I was getting concerned and it eventually started working on its own. So, if you have a new Verizon phone you may need to wait a while after initializing for the SMS to start working. I think it was about half an hour for me, but I was messing with a lot of stuff with the phone so I may have a bad perception of how long it took.
