You will need to use @Savoca 's Furnace kernel with any 4.4 AOSP ROM with the exception of AOSPA as I hear they have the still-to-be-determined fix in there. (Meaning it's fixed but I haven't been able to narrow down yet what specific fix(es) did the trick to add to CM kernel.)
Lg g2 ls980, build kot49I.LS980ZVC-kernal 3.4.0 - KK4.4.2 Using twrp 7.3.5
I have no problem backing up or installing ls980 zvc roms but when rebooting it only gets to the logo then reboots. I have searched for solution and I'm sure it's here but I have already bricked one G2 and fear being off one step then bricking again. Thx for any advice.

Which twrp? Should be 2.7.0.1 is latest. How did you install twrp. If you were already on zvc you should have used auto-rec.
Sounds like your bootloader may not be downgraded with proper kennel.

Yeah I did use the Auto rec. I was doing back flips actually when I was finally able to do a nand backup. But about this bootloader thing I don't have a clue. Please give me noob instructional advice I suffered With the LG Esteem and all the pipe dreams of Cm9/10 back then. And really need a new rom fix.
Thx Curster (droid drunky)

I have tried many actually. cm11 regular and the latest nightly, Pacman I'm not sure of them all but I am using the latest twrp and it says install successful so I don't know really.
I'm not sure aosp is compatible yet with zvc. Best to at least get up and running is either super g2, or optimus.
Sounds like mostly aosp builds.
Try one of those stock base first

Thx I will try that then report my findings. Has anyone else had this problem? And I suppose I should start a new thread for this question.... But is the LG G2 LS980 from sprint able to be unlocked and transferred to another carrier?
Actually yes. It is through build prop edits. But in doing so if you mess something up you could be stuck.

Yeah, you have to wait. It's killing me too. However, I don't really want to be one of the first users of a custom ROM either. So I would have to bear it out for a few months. This may be the longest I have been on a stock rom.

There are still no custom ROMs or much kernels for this version and others because the bootloaders are sadly still locked. We have to wait and see if and when LG comes up with and official solution Or maybe someone else comes up with something.

Locked Bootloader
It's been such a long time since I've had a phone with an unlockable bootloader... It is ridiculous that at this time and age we have an OEM that still locks it's bootloader hard...
Last time I had to deal with this was back in the Xperia x10 days... It still gives me the chills...
At least the G3 is a great phone which doesn't make me want a custom rom THAT bad... Unlike the x10 with 1.6 android rom on it...
Hey folks,
I hope I'm posting this in the right area, but here goes: I got myself an LG G3 back in November, and just recently saw someone with a 5.0 update on their phone. I also learned that we have the update here in Canada, but our amazing phone carriers are holding out on us. So, I would like to ask for help in rooting and updating my phone to the new Rom as I know next to nothing about the process, though I did follow a guide here a few years back The phone was originally a Roger's phone and I unlocked it to work with Virgin. Thanks all.
Any takers?

For installing a new rom (via kdz) you do not need to root your phone.

Really? That's awesome! But I would like to root it and play around with some extra functions so I could learn. What's kdz?
EDIT: I wanna note that I've heard a bit about "stumping" but I know nothing of what it is, so if anyone could shed some light for me, I'd appreciate it.
Hey guys.
Somebody know if it Is posibble to root Lg d855?
Android 5.0 lollipop

LOL. And can someone help this person here too?

Hundreds of posts regarding rooting. 5.0
Can't be done. You must revert to kit Kat via kdz or tot. Root. Then install custom recovery and install a "bumped" lollipop rom
I'm already on kitkat atm. Tbh I'm not so hot into the root function, I just want to update the rom if it improves battery life, and utilizes the quad HD better.

Thank you good sir. I'll start on this asap. Could you tell me if it's possible to restore phone data using helium after I update to lollypop?

I just received my LG G3 today and updated to lollipop, not realising it was basically unrootable. Please tell me there is an option to root or atleast there will be soon? I cannot live without my Viper4Android app!
I can't believe I was so dumb to just install the update without considering the potential issues with rooting.
I updated my Nexus 7 to lollipop and quickly went back to KitKat using the Root Toolkit, so I didn't realise that we were having an issue with rooting lollipop devices. Or I wouldn't have updated at all.
I'm due another LG G3 tomorrow as the original company were out of stock, so I ended up going into the store and picking one up today, and ofcourse the original company just at that moment emailed me to confirm delivery for the following day.... anyway how far away are we from getting a solution... i will need to return one G3 so would it be worth returning the device i updated and keeping the G3 which will likely come shipped with Kitkat? Or will a solution likely be here soon?
Hope this makes sense, I've been up all night trying to root this *******.
Thanks!
Actually u can just install a custom lollipop rom which is already rooted or even install a stock rooted one too , it's up to u which one whould u like to return , for the updated one u can downgrade to kitkat using tot file and then root and get a custom recovery ... And install whatever u want
