[Q] Does flashing world ROM affect bootloader unlock status? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi guys, I've got a T-Mobile UK branded Xperia S. The bootloader unlock status is no and I'm wondering if I flash a world/unbranded whatever it's called official 4.1 ROM will that change the unlock status?
Thanks in advance

No, it will not change the unlocking status, but you might brick your phone.

Defy sim-locked & custom ROM

Hi to all...
I'll buy a Motorola defy Vodaf* Spain locked, but i would like to use a custom ROM and another phone operator, so i need to buy an unlocked code or just to put the new Custom ROM?
Otherwise if i unlock by code and then i change my sim, i need to unlock again or the operation is permanent?
tnks
You cannot unlock your phone only by installing another ROM. Have a look on this topic for more details on how you can unlock it.

[Q] Rooting and carrier warranty

I need your help guys,
just got my Xperia ARC and i wanted to root it by this guide and i have a few questions:
i bought the phone from an Israeli carrier (pelephone if its matter) so in the guide i need to change the carrier firmware to the original firmware and i wander if it will void the warranty. also is there any way to change back the firmware after the change, if so then how? i searched and i couldn't find anything...
thanks ahead
The thing with Rooting a phone, is that you can root your phone and still the ¨stock¨ Arc is untouched after you have unrooted.
The flashing and rooting dont break the warranty by it self.
If you change from locked bootloader to unlocked.. The warranty is removed.
Easiest way to root is:
*Download*
3.0.A.2.181 Generic World: http://www.mediafire.com/?y9s73andrl4bllc
*Use Flashtool to Flash .181*
Flashtool: http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
*Use Gingerbreak after you flashed back*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1044765
*After it have rebooted and active, go to settings and do a OTA over wireless.
This way you keep your Arc locked, nothing good comes from unlocking the bootloader yet.

That's not entirely true. You've got custom ROMs being developed; over-clock kernel just released, Recovery and what not.
Unlocking the bootloader is personal choice. I may not unlock my bootloader just yet but I can't deny that with improvements being shown, it's an increasingly tempting option. LOL!

[Q] Carrier Unlock Question

Hello. recently I read on a section of the HTC One X forum that if you want to unlock the carrier of a HOX and you have a custom ROM flashed and bootloader unlocked you need to lock back the bootloader and flash a stock ROM. Is it true, or can unlock it with the custom rom flashed?
You can`t disable the carrier lock without s-off.
Thanks for the answer. So there is no way someone could unlock the carrier if i have S-on?
No, sorry....
There is no way without S-OFF.
You can unlock your carrier to allow different network Sims, just google "HTC one x carrier unlock".
It's not possible to change your cid without s-off
sent from my One X using xda venom premium
Here comes the problem.. I know that cellunlocker.net is trusted when comes to unlock codes and i got my code yesterday. I was on Custom ROm with bootloader unlocked. When i enter the code it says it's incorect so that's why i need to know if i need to relock the bootloader and go on stock rom?
I had the same situation.HTC locked device with the code you can find on websites but then your carrier changed unlock codes, and the one you bought from site is incorrect.
I asked my carrier to tell\sell me the code but they dont want to untill the warranty is over. You can ask your carrier also,it doesnt cost you anything
My local phone repair service tell me that only solution for me is to take apart phone and read codes directly from motherboard but then i will lose warranty, which is ok for me,i already unlocked bootloader and root my hox
Just relocked and flashed stock rom. I will contact the carrier and try to get the code. Thanks for the help.

Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No and CWM Question

Hi Everybody,
I have a Xperia M C1904 on JB 4.3 [15.4.A.1.9] on Vodafone Australia
My bootloader unlock status is no i was wondering if it is possible to
A) Unlock the bootloader
B) install Custom roms (KitKat Possibly?)
C) get some form of custom recovery whether it be TWRP or CWM etc.
and also i would like to know step by step how to check whether the sim is locked and if possible how to unlock for free (if locked)
i know its alot to ask
Thanks
Andrew
I'll tell you everything I know.
Unlocking the bootloader unlocks the full capacity of the phone. This means you will be able to flash a custom recovery, and within the custom recovery, you can flash ROMs and everything else. But if "Bootloader unlock allowed" says no, then you won't be able to unlock your bootloader, thus not being able to flash a custom recovery. The only way to flash these is to implement a custom recovery for locked bootloaders, which is not yet available for Xperia M.
To determine whether your SIM is locked, the phone won't read it and would request for a SIM Unlock PIN.

A) we will never be able to unlock the bootloader if it says bootloader unlock Allowed: no.
B) possibly in the near future, if we get a custom recovery working on LB
C) some devs are working on it, but nothing yet. We could be getting it in the near future.
To see if your phone is sim locked, go to the phone app and enter the code *#*#7378423#*#* and a service menu should open up. Click on service info, then sim lock. If you have a 3 beside network then you are sim locked. If you have a 0 then you are sim unlocked.
