Sixaxis controller
Hi All
I have been running trunderROM 800 v2 for a while now and I am very happy with it thanks to shaheer and everyone involved for taking the time to make this amazing rom.
I'm having trouble with the sixaxis controller app.
It will connect to the tablet if I run the app with in the first 30 seconds of rebooting but then it will drop out after period of time sometimes hours sometimes just minutes.
The rest of the time it will just hang on listening for controller.
It seems that a something is cutting the connection when it runs in the background and stops the connection being made once it is running. If I connect it within the first 30 seconds everything works for a time, then the red light turns off on the ps3 controller but the app still says that it's connected.
I was wondering if anyone else was having similar issue with this rom and app?
I'm not sure if this is a rom issue or not but it seems to me that it might be as it does work to a point and then stops.
I would be grateful for any help or ideas on how to fix this.
Many thanks Richie

All sorted found a quick fit thanks to steelsabre. I can fly my AR Drone again
But quick connect keeps running after I force close and dropping the ps3 controller. Is there anyway to stop it for good or would I have to uninstall it?
thanks again

Just uninstall using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en
I got it removed on mine.

I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of the sd card notification that pops up on every boot. I thought i saw a tutorial somewhere in another thread but ive searched and searched and still cant find anything

I'm excited to get into rooting and I really want to get rid of all this bloatware but before I go off and try something way over my head I was wondering if anyone could help me get this ROM installed. I already rooted following this guide.

No worries man I was a noob to android back in july. Twrp is a custom recovery when you press the home+power+vol up at the same time while the tab is booting. Aroma installer is an installer inside the rom in which you can pick the apps, launcher and few few other settings while installing the rom. It makes the debloated process easyer. To install twrp you must be rooted and search in the play store twrp. Once its downloaded open it and hit install. You have to pick the exact model you have. May I ask what model is your tab s and size? Once you pick your model you will have to hit the install and it well make you download the file needed for the recovery. It then should say its installed and you will have to reboot into recovery. Twrp recovery is a touch recovery in which you can can install roms. To install roms (thunderrom/rom in a zip) You will have to backup everything. You have to hit the backup tab and check/tick every box in which md5 check, compression, data boxes are optional depending on how much memory you have. Now you just have to slide the slider and it will backup everything. It may take a while and you should have your battery charged while doing this. After your backup is done, now is the installing of the rom. You have to clear dalvik and cache before installing it. To do so I forget which tab its in but it should be in advanced. After clearing those you now hit the install tab. Now you have to select the rom you downloaded and it should be in the downloads folder. When its selected slide the slider and it will install it and take you to amora installer. Just pick the things you want and then it will install it and take you back to twrp. Now just hit the reboot tab and tap system. Then the tab s will reboot and have a custom rom. There are also some helpful videos on youtube to help you and if i forget something. Hope this helps! My fingers hurt lol.

I have a question: I understand I need to do a complete back up before flashing any Rom, but to do that don't I need to install a custom recovery. So does that mean I won't be able to put the stock **recovery** back if I need to?

To install that backup you will need the custom recovery. You can get back to stock by flashing the stock recovery img. I dont know exactly how to put back on the stock one but custom recovery is mostly needed to install your backups in case something goes wrong.

Via twrp. Wiped cache, dalvkit, system then flashed, waited 10 min, rebooted and finished first setup. Reflashed on top about 30 minutes ago just to see if it missed some files on the install, but it's still the same.

I love this custom rom but why doesn't the volume on my galaxy tab s work anymore. you can't control it

Google Account Manger crashing on setup
Hey folks!
Flashed this rom (both 2.0 and the beta) and I get the same problem when going through the setup of the tablet. When I get to the screen 'some apps are personalized to the user' or something, I need to enter a name, when I do so I click next and I get the error message 'Unfortunately, Google Account Manager has closed unexpectedly' (my wording might be off, but I assume you guys know what I am talking about).
Would really like to try out this rom, but can't seem to figure out how to fix this issue.
FIXED:
When I put in anything into the name fields, the app crashed. Leaving them blank allows the process to continue.

this guy already made two threads asking how to install this rom and was answered multiple times.
HERES THE SUREFIRE WAY TO INSTALL THIS ROM
permaroot the phone (not temproot...permroot it, this is pretty important)
install clockwork mod recovery (you can find it in market)
boot into recovery (hold your volume rocker downwards while starting the phone then click recovery)
Install from zip and you're done.
If these steps do not work then there's the alternate method...
throw phone out the window of a moving vehicle. (make sure you throw it really hard)
then in 2 days come back to the place you threw it, not only will the rom be installed but you will also have overclock to power levels of over 9000.

now what?

Ok after hours and hours, I finally got my KF rooted and online. I have installed superuser with KFU....I also installed the gapps from KFU, that part didnt work. I downloaded from the play store gmail. I am trying to get it to sync.....I think I need the google services framwork or something like that. I want it to be able to sync to my gmail and my phone. I know it is possible...but there is so many different websites and whatnot, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction
thanks
Heather
You'll need to install the gapps zip. Can you provide a bit more information regarding that part not working? Maybe a screenshot of KFU at it?
By the way, I strongly advise you to install FFF and TWRP.

I dont know how to do a screen shot. I've got it up and running. I have it rooted and the market app installed. that all works. The wierd thing is that when I first rooted this months ago...as soon as the KF booted up, all of my apps from my phone were there. AWESOME! But now, I have done the same thing and nothing. All of my amazon apps are there, but thats it. my calendar was there with all the dates, so I guess that means it was able to sync. but the gmail does not sync automatically. I have googleservicesframework.apk on there, installed and changed permissions. do I need the calendarsync.apk?
I used KFU this morning to root and I think it automatically installed twrp, when I boot up the first KF logo is blue, at the bottom there is a boot up menu, then it boots into the orange/yellow KF logo and its good from there. Does that mean I do have twrp installed?
Honestly, I went out and bought an asus tablet because I coulnd't get my KF to do what I wanted it to.. I jsut want to be able to use it as a basic tablet, to sync my email and celandar and run the play store, thats it
Id rather keep the KF because of the size and cost But I'm just frustrated...thanks for letting me vent

Alright, you do have FFF installed (it's the blue KF logo screen). When you start up the KF, you'll notice on the bottom it's asking you to press the power button for a boot menu. Do press the power button a few times until it shows -Recovery-, and see if it boots into TWRP then - from there, choose "Install" and then pick the gapps zip (download http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip and put it in your KF if you haven't yet. You can delete that zip after it's been installed). You may also want to wipe cache and dalvik-cache.

This I don't know for certain - however, installing the gapps zip as instructed above should have everything google related working properly.

The reason that stuff was gone is probably due to an amazon OTA (over the air) update. To prevent stuff like that in the future, if you have the heart, you may want to look into flashing a custom ROM.

Press the "print screen" (Prt Scr) key on your keyboard (usually, it's next to F12) - then fire up Paint and just paste (control v or choose the select tool and right click on the image, then paste). It's a good idea to save it as PNG for better quality, or JPG for an usually smaller size, then you can either attach it here or upload to an image host, such as imgur.com, and link to it here.

No problem, we've all been there.
As a side note, do not allow Play Store to update Kindle applications - they'll malfunction until you uninstall those updates.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out.
How many times to I hit the power button to get into recovery? I see when I a supposed to press it to get into the boot menu but It just keeps going, the the logo turns yellow orange and boots normally
I would love to install a custom rom. What would you reccomend? Im running an ICS one on my phone. .. Im a little less worried about bricking this, as opposed to my htc phone that I need for work (and thats running a custom rom) Its just that there are so many ways to do things and so many differrent devices that are different in every way possible when it comes to installing custom things
I guess I should be more patient. I figured out the recovery and I have installed the gapps.

A few times, it's hard to say, as it kinda sucks at acknowledging your presses. You'll notice the letters change to a few options, with the middle one saying --Recovery-- or something like that, then just let it sit there and it'll load into TWRP in a few seconds -if- TWRP is installed. You can also just press the power button multiple times until it shows that boot menu.

Well, first is having your issues fixed. As for which to pick, is a delicate matter. You can pick between a stock based custom ROM, if you do like the stock rom look... and there are also CM7 (Android 2.3, gingerbread) and CM9 (Android 4.0, ICS). I'm currently using the sgt7 ICS ROM, but your mileage may vary - each ROM is usually fairly different, and what I like may not be what you like. Either way, you can freely "hop" around trying out different ROMs until you decide to stick with one that works best for you.

Huawei Ascend Y H866C ROOTED!!!
If you have been lurking the posts on google for a root for the phone, you are just like me, so i
decided to learn some things. I contacted GiantPune and we worked together applying this root:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/k9b3ks
download poot, install it let it download and install ministro,
start poot,it will then start ministro
Ministro will create some libraries, thats ok.
Poot will then start, make sure to press the poot button and then it will give you some code
At the end of the code somewhere in there it should say sucessfully found and wrote su.
press the built in rootcheck to see if you are rooted
restart the phone go to the playstore and download Superuser.
You are now fully rooted!
All the thanks goes out to GiantPune for his awesome and funny creation.

few questions
Now i have read that many have achived root on the ascend Y H866C. What I have not seen if its there a way to go back if you mess up.
#1 Just for example.. i use dto own a galaxy precedent.. and if i messed up i could just go back and do a clean stock restore.. is that possible with the ascend Y?
#2 Once i achieve root.. is it possible to create a partition to install more apps and remove blotware apps ? and what apps or programs i need to create the partitions?
#3 many have mentioned about holding the up and down volume while holding the power button.. what does that doo? and do you do that once you are rooted or before? I have tried while the phone is off and on but nothing happens.
I really want to root my phone but if i brick i just want to know i can restore back to stock at least.
Thanks in advance to all the great devs and the smart people that make this possible.
Regards,
Pryma
Bump?? can anyone please help the ascend Y H866C community!

It's not very difficult.
Go to the previous page (page 4). Download the Poot posted by that guy that I still need to send a donation to (I promise I will, I have to wait until the first of Feb. when I have money).
1. Save Poot to the SD card.
2. Download and install SuperUser (or SuperUser Elite if you want, but it's not necessary to pay for SU Elite).
3. Run Poot. It will need to download Ministro II. Accept the download and just let Ministro II download/install.
4. Let Ministro II install the QT packages it needs.
5. If you want, Reboot the phone (press and hold power button, select restart), but I don't think it's necessary.
6. Run Poot again, it will give you a success or failure message. If you did everything right, it will give you a success.
SuperUser or SuperUser Elite is necessary just for the root. I don't know about ClockWorkMod other than that CWM does NOT (the last time I checked) have a mod that supports Huawei H866c. Now if you do get a mod on there, you don't need SU or SU Elite (most of the time).

Hope this helps others in know that it does work. Now all we need if someone is willing to assist in making a stock recovery so we can go back to stock and make partitions for more space for more apps. Anyone out there can assist the H866C community please?
I'm fairly new to the android scene but have become very interested quite quickly once I started to learn more. I have managed to root my phone & get rid of google+, google maps, etc. I actually even uninstalled Google Play at one time & managed to get a version I found on KAT to load off of sd card with no problems so far, but still quite small internal memory. I read in my research about possibly being able to "trick" the phone into thinking the sd card were part of internal memory, is this real? Using Root All To SD I've managed to create and mount a 512mb external SD memory but can't get anything to move to it. Still never seems like I can get internal memory above 30. Any suggestions on how I could better unlock my phone to it's full potential?
hi ditch. Im on ths asme boat with you man. I saw your post on the other forum as well. Its frustratin to think that the H866C is not thriving as a great phone which i think it is! Im really hoping that other developers come to our rescue.
Im willing to pay someone to get a ROM going so we can partition and recover back to stock. Please PM me devs!! we really need your help!
Thanks in advanced

I couldn't agree more, the phone seems to be a really good phone (except the internal memory problem). It's just getting to the point now that I feel I must ask if it's something I should wait around on or if it would be in my best interest to get my money back and try to get a different phone instead.

I posted questions on a couple sites & on one I got this is return:
Apps/scripts such as A2SD and Link2SD would work for you to accomplish that, however, I believe you'd have to have a custom recovery, as A2SD is a script that must be flashed from recovery, and while Link2SD doesn't need to be flashed, both require you to also partition the SD card and use one of the partitions for app storage. You might be able to use Link2SD without recovery though, if you partition your SD card on a PC.
As a matter of fact, I just found a guide that will probably get you through with little or no fuss:
(there was a link for a Link2SD tut here but I'm a noob so no outside links yet)
from BlastGT1 at UnleashedPrePaids
I've gotten a second partition made but still am having some trouble with linking apps to it. Hope this helps us on our journey somehow.
To all xda devs! Please help us out with this project. We can work our a monetary donation to the site or work out the details! Please hear our cry for help.
Using Link2SD I've managed to install about 70 apps and still have roughly about 60mb of internal storage left as long as I keep my cache cleaned up. So for now I'm doing much better than before. Custom ROMS would be great (don't get me wrong) but defeating the internal memory problem is a win for me. Thank you everyone for the help so far.

I would appreciate some guidance as to what rom to install.
This UK version of the phone had become increasingly slow. I have just rooted it but do not know what to do next.
I had intended to install a custom rom and see it rejuvinated, especially for things like Sat Nav. I also want to get rid of some of the Samsung software that is taking up memory space and slowing the phone down. She I try to update the software to KitKat before installing a custom rom?

You could try this ROM, works great for me:
http://xda.mister-freeze.eu/XDA-files/ace2nutzer/CM11/codina/
Instructions that could help could be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159250

Alternatively, install custom kernels to improve experience:

I find the 101 pages to the help topic overwhelming, especially as it is solidly highly technical. Do you happen to know of a step by step set of instructions that I can follow with ease.
Sorry but some basic points I need clarifying:
You referred me to a rom that works great for you and yet suggest that a custom kernel will improve performance. How do I decide which one to go for? At heart I do not understand the difference between the two.
I had a look at the codina link and notice I need to know what file system is being run on my Ace 2. I tried gparted on my desktop and it did not pickup the android phone as a drive. How do I work out what drive format is being used?

Some searching in those threads couldn't hurt you. It's just one search box away.

- From recovery install temp. cwm.6028 (http://d-h.st/oZD)
- wipe data
- mounts and storages
- format system
- then CM 11 from 18/11 ext4 (link before)
- power off
- boot in cwm
- flash pico uni-gapps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942)
- flash latest ext4 kernel (optional)
- reboot system

I use both. So, in my case, I install the ROM first, and then I install the kernel (instructions above). Note that the kernel part is optional, but should give you better experience.

You could check this by using adb. But if you never did anything before, than it is most likely to be ext4 (default for our Ace2).
Thank you for your help. I have just gone to get the temp. cwm.6028 (http://d-h.st/oZD) and it keeps failing to download. Is the link working? Do you have another one?
I notice that there are two download buttons. The plain download button causes a warning that I am going to a web forgery. The download now button fails to download for me.

For some reason (newest) FireFox downloads it but deletes it right away... This file is save! Use another browser (Chrome for instance) to download... De-activate Download Manager and use Download Now button... Not the other one...
I downloaded it using Flareget and sent it to my desktop and that worked as a download. The downloaded file is called update.zip. Your reply in the last message suggested to me that it should be called "temp. cwm.6028" (http://d-h.st/oZD). I ask in case someone has substituted another file!

Dude.. you are really complicated! This update.zip is the Temp. CWM Recovery...
For sure the are some update.zip around the net which containing other stuff - But this (http://d-h.st/oZD) is the Temp. CWM Recovery.
And it's a save file (as I alrady wrote) - I looks right now that FF and Chrome dont want to download it...
I think some dump users reported this file to often! Only because they don't konw how to download corretly from Dev Host...
I hope this is clear now....

How I Rooted my S7 on Nougat. PlayStore ROM V3 *outdated but still working*

*I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS, IM JUST TELLING HOW I DID IT. I AM ALSO NOT GUARANTEING YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME OUTCOME*
*I recommend going to this new update guide by CVertigo1 in the ROM's section as this version of the PlayStore ROM is outdated.*
Credit for Root and PlayStore Rom goes to jrkruse (https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695)
ROOTING
1)Flashed stock Nougat ROM
2)Flashed ENG-ROOT found here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141717
- Make sure to flash the correct kernel included in the zip file
3) Install SuperSU. Link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862710010
- I used the regular Root.bat not the one with tweaks
FIXING LAG
1)Install Flashfire from PlayStore
2)Download the PlayStore Rom from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767144652
-Transfer the file to the S7
3)Open Flashfire and flash the zip choosing only Mount/ system read/write
4)Now AROMA Installer will pop up and go through all of the terms and conditions
-When asked what to wipe I choose to wipe everything
-Next when asked what bloat to remove I choose the PlayStore Rom which removes all bloat and replaces stock apps with google apps (To see full list of changes refer to the PlayStore thread)
5)Now when my S7 boot it showed no launcher, I simply held the home button down which opened the google search, in there I searched for the playstore app and installed Nova Launcher.
-Now reinstall SuperSU by double clicking the root.bat like before
6) Installed the following apps to help with lag; Lspeed, Greenify, Kernal Auditor, LeanDroid, Force Doze, and SSD Boost
-I used most of the settings found on Lag fix threads for the MM root
My S7 is smooth as butter after all of this, no lag spikes and random crashes like I was experiencing with just the ENG Root flashed.
EXTRA
1)I did have to to a reboot to get the camera to work properly
2) I had to download a Dialer/Contacts and Message app from the playstore because the stock ones were deleted in this process. But the store ones work just fine, I am recieving calls and messages like normal.
3) *Battery life is just a little worse than stock, might be worth waiting for Xposed to released for Nougat.*

Weird, did you wipe your S7 completely before doing the process? I would flash fresh nougat and try again.
UPDATE
Went through the entire process once more and found that wiping but keeping SU image works the best, I chose "no wipe" but it caused random reboots. I then wiped my phone and did as stated in my original post and it is working smooth once again.

Did you start on a factory fresh Nougat? It must be trying to run the setup that you first have to do when you get/wipe your phone. But you should have already done this prior IF you wiped your phone completely and started from there.
Here is another guide that you might find helpful: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/development/rom-t3576124

Yes the *US*S7 does have the Qualcomm processor, and this ROM does work with it. If you are looking to see if it will work for another device with the processor then I recommend looking here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695, for more information on the ROM and compatibility.

I've got it all in working order, but to address the issue.
It was just straight after using the first Odin file. (Flashed ENG-ROOT)
Although with hours of sitting here and determination, I came to a solution using this post and many others.
I now have my S7 (Verizon) rooted and functioning with no issues.
Thank you for sharing. :highfive: :good:

I haven't rooted a phone in a few years but I feel like I missed a fundamental step of the root process so I have a stupid question: I get to the rom flashing step and my phone can't reboot because "Custom binary locked by SECURE BOOT (boot.img)." Then I reflash the ENG-ROOT boot.img and that same secure boot blocks because of the custom modem binary. So I just reflashed stock to get it working again, but it still gives that message if I try to install something like magisk. Am I missing something?

You cannot use any custom kernels on us snapdragon models. No magisk or anything. The only root option is engboot and root.bat plus the setups to smooth it out or no root at all
