after 3 months of using my LG G3 this is the 1st time that the camera begun to become less fast when taking photos. i thought it was because i rooted my phone and then I unroot my LG G3 f400k but the same problem occurs it takes time to shoot photos it will slightly load after taking a shot. before you can resume and shot a photo again... what should I do! thanks for the help!
Hello
I have only bought my LG unlocked European version a few weeks ago, and have had the same issue since new. It is just so so slow - incredibly slow compared with My wives iPhone 5 even... Keep missing photos of my children as they don't hold still for long!! only bought the G3 for a) the screen and b) the camera speed.. Screen is great, but camera so so so slow.... If anyone has any ideas how to fix this it would be very much appreciated from me as well..
James
Hi,
Same experience here, my wife's G3 is just rubbish indoors! It takes 2s to take a picture and than another 2s to let you take another one?! it does it make any sense it looks like some sort of HDR mode is enabled in the background - at least that how it feels. On top of that you can't modify the shutter speeds either manually or by choosing scene mode. CRAP CAMERA!

I currently have an LG Nitro HD and the camera has HORRIBLE shutter lag (requires about 6 seconds from 1 shot to the next). It's a good camera, but it ain't gonna get the job done when I see Bigfoot and need to snap a quick shot for proof!
I went to a Verizon store today and tested out the GNex's "0 shutter lag" and true to the hype it's indeed spontaneous!...At the cost of overriding focus lock before capture though!
Even so, there's apparently some buffering/caching going on from shot to shot and I'm wondering how that's done... Is there some kind of functionality coolness going on with the GNex's camera, or maybe it's due to some new camera methods available in the ICS OS itself?
Anyone have some technical insight to this?
thanks.
i have no technical knowledge on it, but from what i've read, it's a combination of both ICS and the hardware itself.
so i think that ICS on other hardware may speed it up, but to get instant you need to have a camera thats capable of it.
I finally went on a trip this past weekend and tested the camera extensively. I took lots of 20MP pictures and 1080p videos, all of them outside. The camera keeps losing focus and has a very hard time finding it again. What's the problem? Is there a way to lock the focus or at least adjust it manually? Here is a video I recorded:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M33DArbxBcc&feature=youtu.be
This is really frustrating. At least 1/3 of the pictures I take come out blurry and out of focus, which is weird. I've taken pictures out of a moving car and many of them came out perfectly focused. Some of the other pictures I took without moving at all came out blurry. Videos are almost without exception guaranteed to go in and out of focus. I expected this phone to do better than that and am hoping it's a simple problem that can be solved. What has your experience been? How can you solve this?
P.S. I am using RomAur v1.2.
I have the same problem with stock rom. Focus is really bad. I hope they fix it in an update.
Same problem here with stock rom
Any updates on this issue? (here's another thread with no answers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703714)
I took some videos last week and I'm having exactly the same issues using rooted stock 4.4.4. The problem is even worse, if you are filming at night.

Your concern may be right. I didn't do many video testing in 4.4.4 so I can't confirm but I've also a feeling the focus is even slightly worse than 4.4.2 and quality is downed a bit too. The video is not sharp as and detailed because the denoise algorithm is stronger in 4.4.4.
True video lover might better stick with 4.4.2 but for most people they just won't notice it. But 4.4.4 is real improved photo so I think most guys will just go for 4.4.4.
Indeed, video is never real good on mobile, it is not Digital Video Recorder or DSLRs. HTC, Samsung and LG theirs video focus are not good too.
Strange...
I just tested it with my phone (rarely take any videos) and I had no problems with the focus. Even on quick change from near to far it adjusts quickly and does not lose focus.
I have the 4.4.4 stock camera installed.

hmmm.... in my post, I was talking only about video. Photo on the other hand already got improved focus in 4.4.4.
Testing camera indeed could be a very difficult and professional job because in every situation may got various results. You have no problem don't really meant others won't have it because we are in a completely different testing environment.
It won't everytime can't focus or all times can't do from near to far or else the camera is total defective and Sony will receive many complaint. The problem is our camera is always semi-break or buggy, it works but not that easy to predictable or unstable and works perfectly like a DSLRs because they got a much better software. The problem can be only happened in some specific environment.
Hi, I want to buy a new phone (after Xperia L) but I still can not decide which one - LG G2 or G3. I have several questions.
I love G3 for the new laser AF with faster focusing in general, this is the one thing for which I want this phone more than G2. But I am disappointed with battery life and mainly with cracking frame around IR or mic. I don't want to go every 3 months to service center for a new frame
Is this cracking issue still present in the last produced G3s?
Is the speed of focusing (or overall speed of camera in daylight and mainly in lowlight) improved in any camera mod (xaddab or other) on LG G2?
I read that there is some improvements, but I didn't find any stock vs. modded speed comparison. (Or LG G2 vs. G3 camera focusing comparison in lowlight)
Thanks.
Hi ... Owned them both kG2 20 december ... 14 february - G3 14feb ... Until now )
I like them both . about thwt crackin issue .. Idk when mine was produced i bouhht it old and it has that small crack where the upper mic is plased and another one in the same place the other side ...
Camera of pg G2 to me was perfect .. Compared by my slef with the Galaxy s4 and s4 beatet them both in low light ... But i never noticed that smt went wrong with focusin ...
Thanks Feizi. And did you feel any bigger differences in quality of taken photos when you bought LG G3 after G2?
Hahaha i forgot smt big... The front camera dude ... Althougt i loved lg g2 more then g3 even i still own the G3...front camera in lg g2is so low .. Once i found a front camera comparison somewehere ... ( lg g2nexus 5. Iphone 5s . note 3 . s4.. And lg g pro 2 . the lg g2 was always before the last which was nexus 5
I don't use front camera so much as main camera. This will be ok for me
Am getting a Zenfone 2 Deluxe. Have always used Samsung phones in the past, always rooted and also used to flashing ROMS, recoveries.
However Asus is new for me so I would just like to ask what are the first steps I need to take :
1) Should I first update through OTA? Or through PC? Where can I download the update?
2) What is the best way to root?
3) Is it okay to stick to stock recovery or is it better to flash TWRP or CWM?
4) What is bootloader unlocking? Is this necessary?
I came from Samsung too and let me tell you this phone has issues. I wouldn't root it until I made sure things are working right. It has a serious issue with the default SMS app that won't allow you to send MMS pictures through it. Voicemails get delayed and you dont get text sometimes. if you google "zenfone 2 mms not supported on sim 2" you'll see people have this issue. I have called Asus and their techs don't understand English too well and they have no answer. they gave me a case number and promised to get back to me and never have.
I have installed the latest firmware, did the factory reset and nothing changed. I'm running the stock rom so I can't tell you if another rom would fix this issue. the camera is terrible for a 13 mp not even close to the Samsung 8 mp. I really wish I had never bought this phone now, I've had other Asus products in the past with good luck, but their phone, no way.
The camera really isn't bad at all. It takes some great shots...what issues are you having that the camera sucks so bad? @Chocketbear

Not saying it's useless, but it gets grainy when you zoom in on a photo you take. my 8mp galaxy S3 is a way better camera. but to me if you're boasting a 13 mp camera, it had better take some really crisp shots. notice you live in Florida too...I'm in the Tampa area and let me tell you we are getting screwed out of out nice cool weather, this hot crap blows man!
Hi guys,
So my Xperia Z2 D6543 broke and I needed a new phone. Got the G4 H818P (on Lollipop 5.1) because of it's relatively bigger screen and the camera software.
So far, I've noticed a few things that I would like to ask you guys about.
Camera-wise:
- the camera has a lot of nice options, including manual focus. Is that focus from the camera hardware or it's emulated by software?
- On both jpeg and raw modes, the camera seems to blurry the edges of shapes too much. Is there a mod to sharpen those or even to get those pics better?
- About the low light noise (Xperia really did a good job if it wasn't for that DRM...), is there a way to improve low light post processing?
Android-wise:
- I've read that some people are on 6.0 already. Does LG have a PC software to update the phones or something?
- How difficult is to root the G4? Also, is unlocking the bootloader important enough to be done?
- About unlocking - does unlocking bootloader bring any problems such as seen with Sony mobiles and the loss of DRM?
Thanks for taking your time on helping a LG newbie!
There is no bootloader unlock as of yet. Except tmobile usa. And i believe h818 eur
Do not update to mm u will lose ability to root. In honestly u shoulda picked a diffrent phone for development. As for camera man mode the higher the iso is the less noise but the darker the pic. Ive managed to get a few wonderful night shots. But most are a little noisy. But some shots i get are worth it
Rooting involves uploading a rooted syatem image throught what is called download mode. Shut the phone off hold vol up the plug into pc.
The two star shots were using 2 diffrent iso settings and u can see the diffrence. Both were taken at about 11 at night 2nd star shot u can see no porch light. Neither had my porch light just the stock flash.
- focus is hardware on all cameras. There is no after effects focus processing on the G4.
- Not sure what you mean by this so post some pictures about blurry edges. This camera is sharp.
- low light the G4 goes into 'night shot' on its own. If you examine the exifs you will notice the shutter is 1/9 and ISO is missing. If you see that shutter without ISO that means it used night shot. In some situations where there isn't light in the scene this turns out pretty good, if there are lights in the scene it will blow them out. The fix is to go into manual and drop shutter to 1/4.
The MM update on the G4 is 6.0. Still waiting for 6.0.1.
Dual sims can't be boot loader unlocked yet, and since MM requires it just to root there is no root possible if you move to MM.
The only G4's that have boot loader unlocked are the Euro G4's H815. Not heard anything untoward when unlocking boot loader.
Wow, that was pretty complete! Thanks a lot!
Nice shots indeed!
