Can I flash the new 10l ota with the bumped twrp recovery instead of the stock recovery? I don't have a back up of stock and don't wanna restore. In on 10h euro at the moment
If you mean by purely accepting the ota then no it won't work. If you have the zip file then yes it will probably work.
The easiest method would just be to no wipe flash the kdz of 10l then reinstall bump.

Thanks for the reply, how would I no wipe kdz 10l ice never done this before ?
I updated mine and I am on the same firmwareI did was use LG pc suite and did my upgrade from there then just use purple drake lite and flashed the bumped twrp using flashify and had no problems
Use lg flashtool 2014 which you can find on Xda (google search it) then you can flash a kdz file either a normal flash or a wipe flash it gives you the options.

Hi all,
mt LG Optimous Pro G E988 has been working fine for 6 months,
But over night there was a OTA update, and now my phone is "stuck"
I say stuck because it will boot with the message
"Secure Booting Error"
"Cause: Device Unlock!! So Boot Sucess!!!"
then it goes into my CWM Recovery....
I had rooted with cwm
Here is where I am having the problem. It never fully installed the OTA update, because I had a boot loader installed.
I had tried to wipe everything and do a factory update, but no use.
I also tried using LG Mobile Support Tool to reflash the factory ROM
as per: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45953380&postcount=1
Yesterday when I tried it, the LG f;lash tool said it was not able to connect to the LG Server
But today the program is saying there is not enough power and may cause a problem.
I have just charged the phone for 9 hrs straight. I don't believe that it's undercharged
Is there a way for me to flash the phone with the original ROM without connecting to LG's server (using their Support Tool)?
Please help.
Thanks
Since you already have CWM installed I hope you have a backup which you can restore. Backup your apps and settings using tools like super backup or titanium. Then reload the JB 4.1.2 kdz from pc. You can look for the steps on xda forums. Once that is done successfully you will loose root. Then try official update via OTA. Or you can try to update via pc tool. Someone already shared the kitkat kdz on xda forums. You can try that too. All the best.

Unfortunately I do not have the backup anymore.
I also tried updating via the LG Mobile Support Tool, which did not work as it gives an error about not being able to connect to the server
I tried the guide from Madmack "[GUIDE] [E980] Fix soft bricks. Flash back to stock using LGFLashTools"
But I have not been able to locate the TOT file for the international E988
I tried to use the one he provided and it did not work (yea I'm desperate to try anything now)
Anyone out there have a TOT file for the international E988?
Or is there a way to crate one from the KDZ files?
please help
thanks
Not sure why you need a tot file. Kdz is fine. Look in xda for guides on loading the kdz file. That is a sure way of unbricking your phone. If it is still bricking after kdz load go jnto stock recovery and clear all caches and reboot. Most guides i have used mention this as an optional step.

Same thing happened to me with the value update. You have no choice but to reflash stock with the lg flash tool. I flashed mine with the telcel flashware but got brave enough before the kitkat update to flash back to att with .tot file .You should be fine once you reflash stock

Here is the link to the tutorial ... http://www.cellrabta.pk/2013/10/how-to-flash-big-kdz-files-optimus-g-gk-g-pro-g2-and-others/.
Note that it is not my own but a tutorial that I used successfully for my phone multiple times.
And here is the link to the XDA forum discussion that has links for the KDZ downloads ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088
Hope this helps.

I have a Sprint LG G2 with ZV7, rooted, TWRP. What I would like to do is go to the latest update (ZVC?) without losing my current data, and being rooted/TWRP as well.
So should I update to latest via OTA and then root? Or is there a different route that I should go?

Follow the first post OP to the T and you will be fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2763290
This will get you to zvc with what is necessary.
Backup your data with titanium backup.
This way you can recover.
If you take ota, you will brick.

That thread only talks about going to ZVC from ZVA
If you want to be 100% safe. Tot to zvc then root with ioroot25 and use auto-rec to get recovery.

Don't forget to save a copy of your EFS
Yeah, I got everything working now. I did a backup and just installed the new ROM , modem, and firmware.

I installed cwm recovery soon after I got my LG Optimus G Pro because I wanted Android 4.4.2 Kitkat but after installing multiple ROM's I wasn't very satisfied with the battery life so I returned to the stock ROM.
I got the notification for the OTA from At&t for Android 4.4.2 but because I have cwm recovery I can't install the OTA.
I have been searching the internet and countless forums and every solution I have found hasn't been clear enough on how to return to the stock recovery.
If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated!:good:
Which version of LG G Pro do you have?
Irrespective of the version you can try unrooting using the menu entry in SUPERSU app. Then run the OTA.
I have a LG E988 which is the international version. I had ROOT but I updated using the LGMobile Support Tool on my PC. Update to KitKat went through fine and as expected I lost ROOT.

I generally trust stuff on XDA. Here is a link to the XDA page that details the process for LG E980 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660. All the best.

Dont ever do this. This will softbrick your device and will cause it to go bootloop into recovery. Your best option is to flash kdz/tot. Just backup everything.

So many opinions - no authatative answers
I need to unroot and get the OTA 4.2 for mt AT&T Optimus G Pro (E980) too.
So far in this thread it has been suggested to:
1. Unroot with SuperSu and get the OTA
2. Flash the stock 4.2 with LG Tools
3. Flash the stock (pre-4.1.2 I assume) using a ROM manager I assume?
4. Never unroot with SuperSU and get the OTA as it will "softbrick" (whatever that is)
I'm a newbie to this and barely got my AT&T Optimus G Pro (E980) rooted because there were so many conflicting methods, only one worked and that was after re-installing ADB to a lower version.
What is a newbie to believe with all this conflicting advice? Is there a moderation team that will flag the correct answer?
Thanks Guys
so i got my phone mostly working...except now the keyboard never works on any rom i use. i tried going into download mode but it never connects to the pc and always seems to get stuck on that black screen with the blue dots. what do i do...?
Install auto-rec from Cloudyfa

AutoRec - KitKat Recovery Installer
Then make sure after that anything you want to save is off your phone.
Tot back to stock, root, auto-rec, flash ROM.
Make site you are wiping all but internal.

Hi everyone. I accidentally flashed a space x kernel meant for a different carrier S6. Now my touchscreen isn't working. I'm trying to flash back to stock via TWRP but don't know where to find the stock 6.0.1 firmware where I don't have to pay for fast download speeds. Does anyone here have access to it? Thank you.
Here you go: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995306913
Tested and works fine.
I would suggest doing a backup with TWRP or Titanium backup

If u got backup just restore the bootloader and u will be ok. If u dont have backup go to download mode and flash stock rom.
Or install any rom throught twrp for the 920p. Touchscreen should be working on the twrp. (Mine was working.)

Thanks for the info. Yeah I ended up finding the stock marshmallow firmware and flashing it in twrp. Issue resolved.
