Simple, press the phone/call button to get to the dialer and press the 3 Dot/settings button in the top right corner and select speed dial. Press the "+" icon and add your phone number to 1. Done.

Cannot change Voicemail Speed Dial number

Hye guys, I've searched everywhere looking for a way to actually change the speed dial number for voicemail.
Currently theres an entry as number 1 as Voicemail but there is no number attached to it. When I try and edit the number I'm not able to add an number, it has a drop down menu but it's blank and I cannot input a number into it.
I tried deleting the speed dial but then I'm unable to add a speed dial to number 1 as its reserved for voicemail...
I checked in Phone -> settings -> services and Voicemail and Text Messages has the right number for voicemail (121)
edit
using Black 2.0 with radio 1.38
thats because it hardcoded into the OS. the only thing you can do is set another speed dail number to your voicemails number and use that but 1 is always for voicemail sorry man

Nope not quite...
You can change it by going to settings-Phone-Services tab. It should be there with the Text MEssages Services Centre number.
I was able to edit mine when I tried YouMail. Not to mention how would these bad ass speedy cooked rom-a-lama-ding-dongs work?

sorry your right forgot about that.
Hmm
Well in phone -> settings -> services -> tect messages and voicemail the right numbers are there but the voicemail just seems to be missing from the phone
I'll give it a hard reset and see how it goes
If there is nothing registered in speed dial position 1 from before, isn't it just to push the square nr. 1 and enter it from there?
edit: that is the square no. 1 in speed dial menu

Can i make Contacts the default when I phone?

if i press the Phone button it takes me to the dial keypad with the Call History in the background. Is there a way to make it default to Contacts instead as this is nicely sorted into alphabetic order?
If they are contacts you dial often, they will be the first results that will appear when you start to type either their name, initials or number.
Otherwise leave the people app on your home screen and use that.
I don't know of any option to do what you want unless its through root which I haven't done.

Usability of dialer is pretty bad...

Why is it that after I find a phone number via predictive dialing (spell the name), when I click on the phone number i want to call... the phone doesn't simply dial that number for me? Instead, the phone puts the number into the phone number field and now I have to press the green phone icon to tell the phone to call the number.
So, instead of a simple one-click calling, I have 2-click calling. Isn't fewer clicks better? Is there a setting I can turn off the extra click? Am I the only one who finds that annoying?

[Q] Messaging adding 1 to 10 digit number

I am having a problem with messaging (texts) in that if I type in a 10 digit number, when I try to send the message, it is adding a 1 to it and so the text fails. This only happens on numbers I input manually. It is not happening to contacts I have, or to folks I have already sent/received texts.
This happens whether I am using the stock Messaging app or Chomp or other messaging apps.
The error I get is: Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code
I am typing in a valid 10 digit number, i.e. 512-555-1212, but when it sends it is attempting 15125551212.
Any help would sure be appreciated.
Go to your messaging app and hit the munue button. There should be an option in that menue to take that off

There is no option in settings for this, not in Chomp or the stock Messaging app - at least not that I have found.
K I think I found it.. go to dialer, press menu button then press additional setting then find this toggle.. give that a try
