[Q] Way to force ROM's visual resources to baseline AOSP? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Many custom ROMs have non-AOSP graphical resources, e.g. Carbon has many elements colored white instead of holo blue to create a KitKat style.
The problem is that often times, this styling decision affects themes from CM's theme engine, e.g. the white stripe in the header of pop-up dialog boxes often remains in a CM theme like "Veu". It's very frustrating to have these clashing styles.
So my question is: is there a way (a flashable .zip, perhaps) to override the out-of-the-box custom style with the baseline AOSP style in order to make a CM theme look the same across various ROMs?
This problem has always bugged me and leaves me wondering why ROM makers even bother to include the theme engine if their custom style is just going to interfere with it.

[THEME][JVB] Yet another AOSP stock-like theme

I've built this theme from pieces found in other mods. I'm not a designer nor a developer but I like to personalise what I'm using.
Also, I truly like the stock gingerbread look so, I've tried over the last few weeks various combinations of colours and images in the framework and applications. Because I really like how everything came out and maybe I'm not the only one liking stock stuff, I thought to share it.
The main credits are going to Ock and Darkyy because I've used mainly elements from their work.
This theme will NOT be maintained over time and I welcome anyone who think that certain things can be improved, to modify it accordingly. Of course, the obvious bugs will be corrected as it will be found or indicated.
The theme is tested on a deodexed JVB rom so I wouldn't recommend trying it on any other rom.
This theme has:
- AOSP lock screen only
- CRT screen off animation
- Green glowing overscroll
- lockscreen, phone and clock are sharing the same style for the interactive buttons (for unlocking, answering phone and turning off alarms)
- clean battery stats (no percentage)
- gingerbread launcher included
The theme is CWM3 flashable .. but please mount in advance the /system partition (from the mounts and storage cwm menu).
I personally use ADW launcher with gingerbread look and I've used the icons from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870691
Enjoy (or not ) ...

If someone wants I can provide the framework with the percentage over the battery (but will no longer look stock-like).
Nice theme, I love it!
Hi ro_explorer,
can you tell me where can I find (and how to install) only the AOSP lock screen...
I kinda like the stock TouchWiz (or I just got used to it) but the clock at the bottom of the locked screen is driving me nutz
thanks in advance!

Combined rom programs from different phones

So I've just figured out that with some roms you can pic out the systemui from e.g. NeoV Rom. And replace it with a play Rom when both are based on 4.0.4
This doesn't work with framework though.
How can I change specific framework prog's without changing all?
Like I dont like squared gap icons, so I would like the original icon shapes. The rest of the Rom though ist brill as is.
Any advice?

[THEME/MOD][AROMA][ICS] Style your ROM your way v2

ROM developers already spend enough time to provide a quality product, but not all of us are always 100% happy with the way the ROM looks. Theme developers will make different themes for a particular ROM, but even still not everyone wants every change introduced in the theme. It can be cumbersome for developers and themers alike to thoroughly please each of its followers. That's where I'd like to change the game with the GSIII - rather than having to rely on a themer to make something that looks close to what you'd like, you'll be put in the driver seat and choose your own modifications.
What options are you presented with?
- Battery style
- Clock position and color (stock grey or ics blue)
- Brightness slider (won't work on stock ROMs)
- Placement of the date/clear button bar
- Transparency % of the notification area
- Lidroid toggle style (keep your current or use my slimmed ICS blue ones)
- Number of lidroid toggles shown w/o scrolling
- Text labels or not below those toggles
However, these changes can't be made possible without a little side effect. In this first version, the style of the clock, date, clear button, and toggles use the ICS blue color. In future versions of the theme system, additional styles will be provided!

Does this work with all ROM versions, such as stock ICS, AOKP, Leaked touchwiz 4.1, etc.?
I was just introduced to Aroma and love the customization features on stock ICS! Mainly for the center clock, AM/PM small option, Crysis battery mod and hopefully the abbreviated small weekday option in the future.
This is for ICS TW ROMs - NOT CM, AOKP, or JB ones.

does not work on wanamlite 1.3 which is ics based on the new VLALH1 rom.
Works on rooted stock LG1 thanks! Saves me from decompiling and recompiling systemui.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Just installed and tested this out on Kyan's Rom. No luck, it booted up with some errors and the notification bar wasn't there (made the screen look huge....kinda cool looking actually). Anyway, had to restore my Nandroid backup.
Sounds like a great idea, hopefully you can work the bugs out.
Thanks.

Enhanced 236 - any recommended mods?

Enhanced 236 is one of my favourite ROMs, with Xperiatized being a close second. I know of only 1 mod which applies some ICS-styling to the ROM. I think that mod makes the ROM looks a little less cartoon-ish in aspects such as the checkboxes. However I'd like to make some more visual mods but have no idea how to do so.
There are two things I'd like to change:
images used in the notification bar toggles;
notification bar indicators - WiFi, battery etc;
progress bar.
Can anyone point me to a guide on how to make these mods? I have tried UOT Kitchen in the last with no luck. In that instance I applied the mod I had made but didn't see any visual difference.
Well you could use Holo Launcher it changes most of the icons and stuff. And you can try taking Rom Toolbox from the playstore , from there you can easily change some system fonts with preview before applying , themes and such. And you can pick images for statusbar icons also. Good luck.

Searching best themes (icons)

Guys, I search themes with cured icons, but I have lost too hours without obtain what I need. For the moment I use official Limitless theme, but I have noticed that Instagram icon (for example) is ugly. Icons are a little bit to small, not like old ported theme, but the proportions are not perfect like the other brands. So, I'm searching themes with beatiful icons, with a decent Instagram icon, maybe with Gapps with white curved icon, like Huawei has did with his new flagship, or simply a theme with cured icons. I've tried Multirom theme, but for me a lot of icons are too ugly. We can try to collect here the best icon themes that we found. What do you think? I usually maintain the original theme, and customize only the icons, so for me isn't important if theme is good or not, for me are the icons the important things.
Let me know what do you think
I keep running back to Elun and sometimes it's lighter brother Cryten.
Star Track
I try a lot of themes again, and I've noticed that Instagram icon is always strange. It has or a background or a strange form. I think to unistall it
Who likes iOS or Samsung theme?
Delta Icon Pack is the best IMO.
